Heidi Klum turns 41! If you can believe it, because we sure can't.

The supermodel has been in the industry for quite some time now, but we would never know it. The German beauty most recently appeared in a campaign (sans clothes, might we add) promoting AmfAR's new tote bag, and it looks as though she has not aged a day.

Well Heidi, we love you for stripping down, but we also love you for your Instagram. We regularly stalk the celeb on all social media platforms, and we officially want her to be our bestie. Here is why:

She has major selfie game.

With Mickey, too.

She loves a good photo booth.

Fries with a view. Need we say more?

We would totally borrow her jewelry.

She posts pictures like THIS.

She's truly a girl after our own hearts.

She woke up like this.

Girl's got secrets.

And some insanely awesome faces.

Poolside popsicles? Yes and YES.

By the looks of this photo, she would be a great gym partner.

She drives ATVs in cute shades and beanies.

And lastly, just everything about this picture.

6 Need-To-Know Ingredients For Perfect Skin

Does beauty have to hurt? Not if you’re using the right products and being careful about how often you use those with active ingredients. And, by active, I mean over-the-counter drug products like sunscreens and anti-acne treatments with benzoyl peroxide, plus anything that contains anti-aging ingredients like retinol, vitamin C, or the skin-lightening agent hydroquinone. All of those ingredients do something to the skin beyond creating a smooth finish.

Seriously, is Angelina Jolie aging backwards?

The 38-year-old actress/film director/screenwriter has been making the promo rounds for her latest movie, "Maleficent," and she is looking better than ever. At the world premiere in Hollywood, Jolie revived her "Tomb Raider" look with a killer mid-ponytail and a nude-pink pout.

Check out this badass hair and makeup combo, plus more picks for this week's best and worst beauty, and tell us what you think!

BEST: Angelina Jolie

angelina jolie

angelina jolie

Jolie made us do a double-take when she appeared on the red carpet rocking a slick ponytail that reminded us of Lara Croft. Of course, she had to glam it up with smoldering eye makeup. But how sick is that dagger-like earring?

BEST: Hanneli Mustaparta

hanneli mustaparta

Forget the fact that the Norwegian street style star is sporting overalls and a sheer black bra. It's really all about her sun-kissed shoulder-length hair and bright red lips. Simple, yet chic.

BEST: Charlize Theron

charlize theron

Hello, gorgeous! We just can't get enough of Theron's textured updo, soft pink eyeshadow and matte berry lipstick.

BEST: Bailee Madison

bailee madison

The 14-year-old actress looks fresh and youthful with her wavy brown hair, wispy lashes and hot pink lip color that pops against her yellow lace frock.

BEST: Chanel Iman

Iman oozes sex appeal with her raven ringlets, bold brows, kohl-rimmed eyes and nude lips. This is why she gets paid the big bucks as a model, ladies and gentleman.

WORST: Camilla Belle

camilla belle

Belle misses the mark with this severe hairstyle and faded bronze eye makeup that makes her look like she was trying to recreate that Robert Palmer dancer aesthetic.

WORST: Pamela Anderson

pamela anderson

We're not exactly sure why this "Baywatch" babe decided to ditch her pixie and bring back these wild hair extensions. Plus, she's wearing way too much makeup.

WORST: Amanda Seyfried

amanda seyfried

Seyfried's hair is always perfect, however, she looks sickly with this reddish-pink eyeshadow and bare lips.

WORST: Serena Williams

serena williams

Even though Williams came up short at the French Open, that's no excuse for this dry, crimped hairstyle and those heavy false eyelashes.

WORST: Chili Chapel

We had never seen this singer before this year's World Music Awards, but we can't seem to get her fire-engine red and blonde hair and caked-on makeup out of our head.

Kylie Jenner Poses In A Bikini For Moody Instagram Shot

A black bikini can apparently lend itself to a melancholy photo.

Kylie Jenner posed in a black bikini top and high-waisted bottoms for an Instagram snapshot uploaded to her 9 million followers early on Sunday, June 1. In the black-and-white pic, the 16-year-old stands looking down at the wooden ledge she is standing on with smile-less face. She captioned it with only a skull emoji symbol.

Jenner was also a girl of few words when asked about Kim Kardashian's wedding earlier this week, telling Canada's eTalk: "We can't say much, but it was amazing,"

What could it all mean?

Kaley Cuoco Gets A Pixie Cut

First go short, then go even shorter. Such is the case with Hollywood starlets who chop their long locks into bobs and then go for a pixie soon after.

Kaley Cuoco is the latest celeb to get a pixie 'do just weeks after getting a long, choppy bob. The "Big Bang Theory" actress debuted her new haircut, which is a longer, tapered version of the style made famous by the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Mia Farrow and Twiggy, in an Instagram photo Saturday, May 31.

"Thank you @clsymonds for bringing out my inner Peter Pan :) #byronbeverlyhills #justcutitoff," she wrote, giving a shout-out to hairstylist Christine Symonds.

Symonds also shared a photo of Cuoco's fresh look, writing: "This little lamb went shorter. love playing at the hair salon with @normancook. #shortandsassy #summercut #beauty #hot #babe #byronwilliamssalon."

After getting the chop, the 28-year-old headed out with husband Ryan Sweeting for the Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

Go With the Flow at Florida State University

Tallahassee is most reputable for its prestigious capitol city life. While this is apparent in the downtown district, Tallahassee is also a home to a lively, creative and tight-knit community.

Our beautiful and historically rich campus was established within old Florida in 1851. Today a large portion of the population is comprised of more than 40,000 students.

Florida State University is uniquely identifiable by its red brick and lush greenery. A popular place students casually spend their free time is on Landis Green. Some activities include sunbathing, playing frisbee and relaxing in a hammock between the trees. As big as the campus is, the passion among the student body doesn't fall short. It's common to see students standing for a great cause and spreading the word about leadership and ways to get involved. Among the diverse opportunities, style doesn't go unnoticed. I can always appreciate those who put effort into their appearance. With a driven and focused mentality, comfort is key. As a huge advocate for anything flowy, I feel it truly captures the friendly and laid-back nature of many FSU students.

Each major city has those special characteristics that define them as one-of-a-kind. It's sort of like what the locals only know about but want you to know about on your own. Gaines Street is a destination district near downtown and comparable to a miniature Brooklyn. There's an array of locally owned shops, eateries, pool halls, bike houses, café shops, bookstores and more! It also connects to an art park known as Railroad Square and showcases several studio warehouses where you can find galleries, vintages, live music, food trucks and some of the most down to earth artists. Each first Friday of the month, Railroad Square hosts a block party free to the public that highlights students' work and supports shopping local within the community.

There are so many wonderfully talented artists among us who make a living off of their craft. Tallahassee is full of entrepreneurial spirits and artists from musicians, designers, photographers, builders, chefs, farmers, you name it they do it all themselves. Another creative outlet and resource on campus is Market Wednesdays. Here you can buy merchandise, art and also find information and ways to join various clubs.

This Fashionista embodies the artistic and free-spirited FSU student; majoring in Retail Merchandising and Product Development, she surrounds herself with all things beautiful and creative. With a specialty in hand making her own agate stone necklaces, she also enjoys blogging her own photography and inspirational muses. As an artist, style is one of the most exciting ways to express who you are. She describes her personal style as "eclectic, no rules, edgy" and chose a sheer black tank overlaying a lacey bralette, paired with a lighter wash of denim bells. As for her accessories, she's rocking tortoise sunglasses, a gold vintage necklace, two statement rings, black matte nail polish, a ditzy printed headscarf and contrasting pale blue polish with her caramel colored lace up booties. While inspiration comes in many forms, adapting to the ever-changing weather is a craft of its own. With the infamously hot and humid summer weather of Tallahassee, bralettes, tank tops and crop tops are just a few ways to look stylish without exposing too much. Headscarves are making waves for the latest summer accessory and are a great defense against humid hair days.

Tallahassee is a thriving creative community with a strong passion to experiment with different styles and an incentive to keep innovating. Here at FSU, students are doing just that. Whether you are walking on campus or visiting downtown, inspiration exists among the nature and people who fill this town with love and life. If you get the chance to visit, you too can see the diverse beauty the city has to offer.

CFDA Awards 2014 Red Carpet: All The Amazing Looks Of The Night (PHOTOS)

While the Met Gala is often likened to the Oscars of fashion, the CFDA awards (or Council of Fashion Designers of America for those of you who aren't familiar), are much like the Golden Globes. More casual, more intimate and let's face it, a lot more fun.

Designers, editors and celebrities alike stunned on the red carpet this year, for an evening that truly celebrates amazing style. Blake Lively looked like a modern day go-go dancer in a mini Michael Kors dress, the Olsen twins wore oversized black garb (per usual) and Rihanna turned heads in a sheer Adam Selman fishnet dress, complete with gloves and a headscarf.

Check out all the best looks from the night and let us know which ones left you with your jaws on the floor (for better, or for worse).

Rihanna Is Old Hollywood Meets Badass At The CFDA Fashion Awards

When news broke that Rihanna would receive the Fashion Icon award at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards, there was one very important thing on everybody's minds -- what was she going to WEAR to the ceremony? But with the stylish star's recent (and tragic) disappearance from Instagram, there was no hope of even getting a glimpse of her look before red carpet time. So, begrudgingly, we all waited in anticipation the old-fashioned way... sans social media.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, after seeing Riri step out in a barely there, custom Adam Selman gown, covered head-to-toe in Swarovski crystals (literally, over 200,000 of them) and carrying a pink fur stole, it seems like this look was worth the wait.

Whether you love it or hate it, you cannot deny that the starlet is channeling some serious old Hollywood glamour. You might even say she was paying homage to Josephine Baker, who would be celebrating a birthday tomorrow (June 3.)

Of course, it wouldn't be Rihanna if it wasn't outrageous. In a move we can only assume sends an "I'm going to show my nipples whenever I want" message to the Instagram employees who disabled her account, the dress left, well, nothing to the imagination.

What do you think of her look? Sound off below!

What Every Pregnant Woman Needs To Know About Her Skin

$

My adorable and fabulous son is 14 months old and my self-titled "pregnancy skin" just returned to "normal" about three months ago. So I've decided to do pregnant women a solid and investigate why our skin basically sucks for nine plus months.

To that end, I interviewed two dermatologists, Dr. Amy Wechsler and Dr. Jessica Krant, to ask them just what's going on with skin during pregnancy and what you can do to combat it.

Your body goes through the widest hormonal changes during your first trimester, no thanks to good old progesterone and estrogen.

According to Dr. Amy Wechsler, estrogen causes pigmentation changes, so existing moles can get darker and you can get melasma, which has been nicknamed "the mask of pregnancy." As someone who has melasma, it's basically just darker areas on your skin and it often happens on the forehead. On top of all that, your growth hormones are going wild, so you're getting skin issues you might not have always had, such as acne, cherry angiomas (little red dots on your skin) and skin tags.

Dr. Jessica Krant told me that you also can get a variety of extremely itchy rashes. Why? I liked how Dr. Krant put it best: "Like some smells that you never would have even noticed before become nauseatingly intolerable during pregnancy, the skin can also change and become more sensitive to certain ingredients' irritation potential."

kate auletta

Skin issues, it should be noted, vary from pregnancy to pregnancy.

So you can have skin issues in one pregnancy and not in another. The silver lining, Wechsler notes, is that if you don't get horrible acne in your first trimester, you're "probably in the clear."

If you do have itchy skin and a rash forms, Krant notes, you should point it out to your dermatologist or OB-GYN. While there are any number of reasons why your skin can be itchy during pregnancy, a rash during pregnancy could indicate an infection or autoimmune reaction, Krant adds. While many skin changes are pregnancy-related and considered "normal," Krant suggests that all pregnant women get a complete skin cancer screening around month six to make sure that none of the changing moles are changing into anything dangerous.

But having the baby doesn't necessarily mean your itchy, blotchy skin will clear right up.

If you're breastfeeding, your hormone levels are extended, so it could last a while. If you're not breastfeeding, your skin should get back to "normal" within three months postpartum or when your period becomes normal. Krant notes that some side effects -- such as certain forms of hair loss or that nasty melasma -- can be permanent. Full disclosure: I formula-fed my son since month one and my skin was still a wreck until just before his first birthday. My melasma is still kicking it (and made worse with summer's sun).

Moisturizer and sleep is the best medicine for pregnancy skin.

If your skin is dry, moisturize, particularly with fragrance-free or hypoallergenic products. Wechsler recommends Cetaphil (particularly Cetaphil Restoraderm) or the Chanel HydraBeauty lotions (she does work with the luxury brand on the line). Krant recommends Aveeno's "very helpful" Skin Relief Cream, which contains three soothing and anti-itch ingredients. And don't forget the sunscreen!

Most importantly, take care of yourself. I scoffed at everyone telling me to sleep and relax while you can. But it's true: Sleep alone can do wonders for your skin always, let alone during pregnancy.

It's also important to stay cool and well-moisturized, use oatmeal baths and creams when you can and if your doctor gives the green light, ask for a topical steroid cream. Talk to your doctor before you take Benadryl, Krant notes. If you want to battle melasma, Krant suggests using SPF 50 or higher, which is "worth a pound of cure."

Trust me, I endured all of this.

The dry skin -- I must have asked my husband to scratch my back at least three times a night -- the melasma, the darker-colored moles and the old tried-and-true products starting to irritate me.

I turned to Josie Maran's Argan Oil as an everyday face moisturizer. Sure, it clogged my pores, but the winter is so dry and I was so thankful to have my skin not look patchy I didn't care. I still could use my favorite unscented Alba Botanica body lotion, which I've been using for nearly two decades. Anything else inflamed my skin.

Fast forward a year and I'm still not back to using my regular moisturizer, but I have found a few that work best for my still-sensitive skin.

But after a few hits and misses, I found a few products that helped my pregnancy skin:

pregnancy skin products

Sephora's Intensive Instant Moisturizer is paraben-free and works great on my skin. It's hydrating without being overwhelming.

As for face wash, I'm loving Philosophy's Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash which really is soft enough to use every day and comes in great big sizes. (One caveat: the tip gets clogged with wash, so I've just left the cap off the bottle.)

When I got my makeup done at Rouge New York, the makeup artist commiserated with me and recommended squalene oil instead of Argan -- life-changing and they sell it there.

But my new favorite find is Kahina, which has my trusty Argan oil in it. Their facial lotion is great for mornings and the night cream is a good heavy-duty moisturizer for the cooler evenings.

We don't have to remind you that it's getting hot. But since we just did, maybe it's time to discuss what happens to our skin in the summertime -- yes, you'll probably get a great tan, but with the heat comes rashes, sweat and other environmental factors that can really irritate your body.

But, have no fear, here are eight products that can help you deal with summer so you can worry about other stuff, like backyard barbecues and beach trips. But of course, if you are experiencing skin issues or have more questions about products, consult a doctor.

The perfectly timed homage got us thinking about all the other fashion and beauty cues Miss Baker has left us with. So in celebration of her birthday, here are 11 lessons from the "Bronze Venus" that we still live by today.

Kendall, Kylie Jenner Take A Stab At Acting In MuchMusic Video Awards Promo

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are taking a stab at acting in a new promo for the 2014 MuchMusic Video Awards.

The teenage reality stars will co-host the awards together in Toronto on June 15. In the 30-second clip, they use horror movie tropes to unsuccessfully try to make each other scream. Their failure to scare each other is actually a good thing, as the promo's tagline urges fans to "save your screams" for the show.

And with Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Hedley and Imagine Dragons set to perform, and tons of other stars set to present, the promo is really a PSA in disguise because fans really will need to save their vocal chords for the big night.

$1 Memphis Farmhouse Gets A Makeover You Have To See To Believe (PHOTOS)

For 24 years, Jose Velázquez and his wife, Jennifer, dreamed of opening a bed and breakfast -- something like the 20-room former governor's mansion where they'd spend their honeymoon in Vermont.

And while it took them nearly a quarter century to find just the right property to do it -- a place with the right amound of space, historic relevance, and a great location -- it took just one year (and one dollar) to see their dream through once they finally did.

james lee house

Here's a look at how the Velázquezes pulled it off and brought Memphis' historic James Lee House back to life.

Full Name: The James Lee House
Location: 690 Adams Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee
Size: The original structure, which was completed in 1848, consisted of a small farmhouse in what is now the north end of the house. A second house was built adjacent to the original farmhouse in 1852 (just 30 feet south). In 1872, a major expansion took place that incorporated the two existing structures and gave the James Lee House the grand (8,100-square foot) Victorian façade we see today, including 5 guests rooms (one on the first floor, 4 on the second floor) + the owners' private quarters on the third floor.
Fast Fact: Not only was the James Lee House home to respected community leaders throughout its history, it was also the birthplace of the Memphis College of Arts and is listed on the National Historic Register.

You purchased the home from the city for $1, correct? Can you tell us how you found it and what the terms of the purchase were?
My wife and I have been looking for the right place for decades, and many of our friends have assisted us in the search. One such friend, Bob Loeb, found out about the city’s plans for The James Lee House and called me immediately. He and I came to look at the house on March 21, 2011 and things started happening.

As a national historic site, there were many restrictions for the transfer and use of the property. Luckily for us, the city had already designated a bed and breakfast as one of the uses for it. In short, the city launched a national RFP for the historic restoration and adaptive reuse of the property and we were selected after submitting a detailed application that included plans, business pro forma, etc. In order to complete the property transfer, we had to secure all financing, have signed contracts with architects/contractors, provide appropriate construction bonds, and [essentially] ensure that the property would actually be restored and reused in a timely manner. We had 12 months to complete all construction work and be open for business. This was all a very ambitious timetable (considering that the property had been abandoned for over 60 years), but we were determined to do it and do it right ... and we did!

before

before

How did the house end up in the hands of the city? What did you have in mind as far as the renovation was concerned when you bought it?
The property was deeded to the city of Memphis by the late Rosa Lee for the purpose of operating the former James Lee Memorial Arts Academy (c.1929). In the deed, Rosa Lee provided for the City to move the school to a comparable or better space as the needs of the school required it. This transfer happened in 1959 when the city built and moved the school to its current campus in Overton Park. At that point, the city held the deed for the property and leased it to a group of preservationists -- the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities -- for 50 years with hopes to restore it and open it as a museum. This never happened, and at the end of the 50-year lease, the city decided to pursue a different course of action ... and that’s where we came in.

before

before

Have you uncovered anything particularly interesting in the house since the renovations began?
Although most of the house had been gutted by the time we came into the picture, we were very fortunate to have a number of unique pieces and features still in the property. Of particular note are the stunning pier mirrors in the grand parlor, the fresco in the dining room ceiling and the intricate plaster moldings in the grand parlor and foyer. In addition, there were a number of “messages” left from the College of Art days on the walls -- some beautiful drawings that we catalogued in photographs and will at some time reproduce for an art exhibit.

What has been the biggest challenge in restoring the house?
A full historic restoration of this magnitude is challenging no matter how prepared you are. When you consider that this is our very first attempt at it, the level of intensity goes up exponentially. I suspect that among the many challenges, two that rush immediately to mind are: code compliance issues and plaster restoration. In a city without a tradition of bed and breakfasts, restoring a personal home (we live in the house) for this purpose can be extraordinarily challenging. Finding skilled craftsmen to tackle specific assignments (i.e. plaster restoration) can be a daunting task. We went through three such experts before we found the right fit.

Where were you living while the work was being done?
We rented a house less than a block away from the property which made it extremely convenient to be hands-on through the entire process.

Shailene Woodley Goes Barefoot In NYC Because She's Braver Than All Of Us

As much as it sucks to walk the streets of New York in stilettos, going barefoot doesn't seem like a reasonable option either. But somebody tell that to Shailene Woodley, because she clearly isn't worried about getting her feet dirty.

Woodley stepped out of her New York hotel barefoot before heading to "The Fault In Our Stars" premiere on June 2:

Once the 22-year-old arrived on the red carpet, she quickly strapped on a pair of silver heels that were hidden by her floor-length yellow Ralph Lauren peplum dress:

This isn't the first time the earthy Hollywood hippie has ditched her shoes, either. Here's Woodley returning to her hotel in Berlin, her shoes noticeably absent:

Back in 2013, Woodley went barefoot and threw up her signature hand gesture while posing with Miles Teller at the screening of A24's "The Spectacular Now":

Woodley may have picked up her clay-eating habit from a cab driver, but we'd be hard-pressed to believe any NYC taxi driver suggested she go barefoot in the streets.

How This TV Producer Reinvented Herself As A Fashion Mogul

Marla Wynne Ginsberg had never sewn a stitch when she bought her first sewing machine in 2009 and embarked on a risky career reinvention. She had just lost a very lucrative senior executive position with a major Entertainment company in a career that she had built step by step for over 20 years. Her work had taken her from Chicago to Los Angeles to Paris, where she developed and supervised the production of some of the '80s and '90s' top internationally-produced TV series, including Highlander and La Femme Nikita.

But nothing ever stays the same in Entertainment, and when a writers' strike hit in 2007, everything started to slide -- then compounded by the economic meltdown of 2008 (which cost her the great gig). Underwater on her mortgage, with her 401(k) in free-fall, she short-sold her house, radically down-sized her life (by now divorced with 2 kids) and moved to "Plan B."

Inspired by her years in Paris, and by the way French women of any and every age seem to magically achieve an enduring sense of style, she made a huge bet on herself: knowing nothing about the fashion business, she decided to dive in and make a splash, crafting fashion "by a boomer woman for boomer women."

As she puts it: "At the time, the prospects of finding a job were about as likely as finding a natural blonde in Beverly Hills. So I decided to reinvent myself by combining my creativity and passion for fashion."

Armed only with a rack of designs she had thrown together in her garage with that new sewing machine, she marched into the offices of Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills, the Hollywood powerhouse organization that had represented her career as a producer. Plowing through their skepticism, she wowed them with her vision, and they sent her in to meet with their contacts at HSN.

The rest, as they say, is history. Today, her line, Marla Wynne (http://marlawynne.com) is a global brand and a top HSN mainstay in the U.S., while being featured on QVC in Europe. In the last four years, revenues have grown over nine-fold.

Marla is understandably pleased with how everything has turned out. "What began 6 years ago in my garage as a 'what-if' evolved into a 'why-not' and today is a fast-growing global brand that has far exceeded my expectations."

But career reinvention can come at a price. Financing her dream business has been a series of ups and downs: backers pulling out, losing control of the business, regaining control of the business, having to commute between Montreal and New York 3 days/week to ensure a stable life for her kids, and then having to deal with a life-threatening family health challenge.

Throughout it all, Marla has persevered, compromising where she needed to in order to preserve her vision, but never taking her eye off the ball and pouncing when timing and opportunities were favorable. Her commitment to herself, and her adaptability to changing conditions are valuable lessons that Boomers need to pay attention to as we navigate the new, more uncertain pathways beyond midlife.

The world is moving too fast for us to look backwards. We have to dig deep to find our passion, and to find our courage, and then, like Marla, believe in ourselves against all odds to make it real.

"I no longer look back to 'see who I was,' but forward to what I am yet to become."
