Burberry's Holiday Ad Is Four Minutes Of Smiling, Romeo Beckham Cuteness

Romeo, oh Romeo. You are swiftly becoming our favorite member of the Beckham clan.

The pint-sized "fashion-lover"stars in yet another new Burberry campaign, and this time there's a super cute video that goes along with it.

romeo

"From London With Love" is the UK-based brand's four minute, theatrical Christmas ad that director and CEO Christopher Bailey calls "a celebration of everything we love at Burberry." If choreographed dancing, matching classic trench coats and an abundance of gold sparkle don't quite do it for you, perhaps seeing Romeo bust a move will (skip to the 1:20 mark to see him in action).

Mini Becks proves that not only does he take after his parents' sense of style, but that he can cut a mean rug, too. Oh, and did we mention he spends most of the video (in which his job is to deliver the gift of love) smiling adorably? Yeah, it's seriously cute. You're going to want to take a look.

8 Things We Learned From Jennifer Lopez's Book 'True Love'

$

Okay, so we know she's real, we know she's still Jenny from the block and we know her love don't cost a thing. But we can still learn a thing (or eight) about Jennifer Lopez from new book, "True Love," which gets its official release on Tuesday.

Here are 8 surprising facts about J.Lo, as revealed in her memoir:

jlocome

1. Lopez writes that the first thing Marc Anthony ever said to her was, "One day you're going to be my wife." That was back in 1998, backstage when he was performing on Broadway in "The Capeman." Anthony's vision came true six years later, when the two tied the knot in 2004 before splitting in 2011.

2. Speaking of predicting the future, she visited a psychic in Toronto while filming "Angel Eyes" and he cried during his reading with her.

'I'm telling you,' he said. 'Going on tour will change your life. It will change everything about you.' I looked at him and was shocked to see that he had tears in his eyes. It was so intense, so unexpected, so weird.

3. Lopez got booed while performing at Boston's TD Garden Arena on her Dance Again tour. The reason? One of her many costume changes included a sparkly New York Yankees hat -- "Die-hard Red Sox fans," she wrote. "What are you gonna do?"

4. Turns out, Steven Spielberg is a huge "American Idol" fan. Lopez writes that, during her first season as judge on the singing competition, the famed director approached her at an Oscars party to tell her how much he and his family love the show.

5. According to her calculations, she has more than 60 songs about love or with the word "love" in the title. As Lopez noted:

"If You Had My Love," "Could This Be Love," "No Me Ames" "Love Don't Cost A Thing" "I Need Love" "I, Love' "Baby I Love U!," "Loving You," et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

6. Her mom once shot the paparazzi with a watergun. During some downtime before a performance in Paris, Lopez, her mom, and her two children were enjoying a day at a park when Lopez felt the photographers were getting too close. After grabbing one of the children's toy waterguns, Lopez's mother proceeded to spray the paparrazi with water, effectively chasing them away.

7. Lopez writes that she watched "Something's Gotta Give" 10 times to help her get through her divorce with Marc Anthony. "Thank God for Nancy Meyers [the film's writer and director], because that vision helped me get through some really tough nights."

8. Lopez completed a triathlon on a whim in 2008. "Now, understand, I had never done a triathlon before," she wrote. "I had run a 10k when I was 12, but never anything close to a triathlon. On the morning of the race, as I was standing there surrounded by a thousand paparazzi, about to jump into the ocean, I realized that this probably wasn't the best idea I ever had."

(Don't worry, guys: she ended up finishing the half-mile swim, 18-mile bike ride and 4-mile run in an impressive time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 28 seconds.)

thankyou

Emily Ratajkowski looked all sorts of glamorous for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards at Spring Studios in New York City on Monday night.

For the event, the 23-year-old swimsuit model and "Gone Girl" actress slipped into a strapless ZAC Zac Posen gown from the designer's Resort 2015 collection. She carried a simple clutch and styled her hair in side-swept waves for an elegant look.

"Had such a wonderful time at the @CFDA @voguemagazine fashion awards with the @theelderstatesmanofficial," Ratajkowski wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of herself from the carpet, "thank you for having me and for the inspiring speech @stellamccartney."

5 Ways to Transform Your Look From Daytime to Playtime

2014-11-04-mestand.jpg

There's something to be said for the mystique of transformation. After all, the era of lugging a dress to work and slinking a suit off in the office bathroom at the end of the day is over. Today, some of the best evening looks are simply a creative twist on the workday outfit that transcends the time stamp. Bottom line? Running from work to play and everywhere in between all day long may be taxing on you, but your style doesn't have to pay the price. Promise.

Whether it's an after work drink with your co-worker, your best girlfriends or someone special, you need a quick and easy way to take your daytime look from traditional to exceptional.
So fret not, because I'm here to tell you five ways to be a quick-change artist and instantly transform your look from office chic to after-hours glam.

2014-11-04-us.jpg

Just follow these tips that I shared on my latest style segment for the talented Kerri-lee Maylands show on NBC and find the perfect double duty look to fall in love with this season. After all, it is possible to get the most bang for your buck all while wearing clothing that suits you, day or night.

2014-11-04-nbc.jpg

Pump Up the Volume
Step into evening by switching out your go-everywhere flats for a pair of strut-worthy pumps like the purrfect leopard print ones I styled the model in below. As Christian Louboutin once said, "Shoes transform your body language and attitude. They lift you physically and emotionally."

2014-11-04-nbc2.jpg

Shrug it Off
Ditch your cubicle-friendly blazer for a play-worthy statement jacket, cropped leather bomber, or boyfriend blazer for a night out on the town. As seen in the photo below from my NBC segment I took the model from a day to night look simply by shrugging off her cashmere sweater to reveal a date-worthy, lingerie-inspired cami and adding a leather jacket, pumps, a clutch, gems and glammed-up makeup.

2014-11-04-photo3.jpg

Layer it On
Coco Chanel once said "before leaving the house, a lady should look in the mirror and remove one accessory," and while I am never one to disagree with the iconic Coco Chanel, in this case I'm going to go ahead and tell you to do the exact opposite of what she said here.

Reason being, one of the easiest ways to inject a bit of glam into your daily look is with the addition of jewelry. You may wear simple, elegant pearls to the office, but at night it's time to get cuffed up in attention grabbing bangles, sparkly cocktail rings and earrings that drop just low enough to excite and delight their followers. Stow them away in your purse or desk drawer in the daytime and grab them on the go for a easy transitional style update.

2014-11-04-nbc1.jpg

To Have and to Hold
If you don't want to tote around a larger carry-all bag for your night on the town, you can stash a smaller clutch into your normal day purse to take out with you. Clutches are perfect for parties, nightclubs, and posh restaurant, holding just the essentials.

2014-11-04-look.jpg

Pucker Up
As glam artist Naomi Martinez said during the segment, makeup for fall is all about making a strong statement both on your lips and eyes. Put your best face forward by puckering up and applying a deep plum tone to darken your lip and perhaps a smokey eye for a glam look that's ready for some fun on the town.

Your Guide For Using Emoji Stickers In Real Life

$

We all know emoji are taking over the virtual world. But did you know they're taking over real life too?

That's right, emoji stickers are now a thing. So in the same way we no longer have to use "words" when texting, we can now avoid conversations in real life, too.

emojistickers
Emoji stickers pack includes all the emojis found on most mobile devices

We obtained some of these emoji stickers and quickly discovered the possibilities with these things are essentially endless. Here are just some of the ways you can use emoji stickers in your daily life. But believe us, there are many, many more.

Use Stickers To Decorate

Assign Them To Objects And People Based On How You Feel About Them
If you read a great book, give it a good and pass it on to a friend. If you see a cute guy/girl at a party, don’t bother with a cheesy pick up line -- just slap a heart sticker on his forehead and call it a day. Okay, that’s a little creepy. Maybe don’t do that. But you get the point.

Trade Them With Friends
Say, for example, you like the girl emoji but you love the heartstars emoji. Perhaps your friend, who loves the girl emoji, would trade you. It’s just like trading Pokémon cards except these cards are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and they aren’t cards at all. They’re stickers! Sidebar though, they should make a Pikachu emoji.

Make An Emoji Guide
You can take the sheets of stickers, bind them and voila! You have a comprehensive guide of all the emojis in order. What more could you possibly want? What more could you possibly NEED?

So embrace the fact that emoji are here to stay and release them from the confines of your smartphone keyboard. Now if only they would come to life. Hopefully that’s next praying .

Emoji stickers can be purchased at Emoji Stickers.

What would you do if you discovered your significant other was snapping pictures of you while you slept? Would you think it's cute? Think it's creepy? Well, if you ask Jada Pinkett Smith, it's "sexy."

The 43-year-old actress shared an intimate bedroom shot of herself that apparently husband Will Smith had secretly snapped, as explained in a Facebook post on Saturday:

The couple, who have been married since 1997, have two children together: Jaden, 16, and Willow, 14. Perhaps it's little things like this that keep the spark alive.

Kim Kardashian shared two photos on Tuesday that -- at first glance -- look like your average Kimstagrams: pouty faces, fellow celebrities, neutral-colored outfits. But when you realize that she bleached her eyebrows, you really can't un-see it. In the photos, Kardashian poses alongside Cara Delevingne and Kanye West at her sister Kendall Jenner's 19th birthday party. The 34-year-old clarified in the caption that the new look was only for a photo shoot, and made sure to tell her 20 million followers, "#DontBeScaredOfMyBleachedBrows." We're trying, Kim, we're trying:

Jennifer Lopez Is Single And Focused On Loving Herself

Jennifer Lopez is single now, and for good reason.

On Tuesday, the 45-year-old superstar sat down with Arianna Huffington to discuss her new book, "True Love," during an interview on HuffPost Live. In the book, J.Lo gets honest about the biggest romances in her life, including her engagement to Ben Affleck and seven-year marriage to Marc Anthony. Today, she realizes the greatest love someone can have is self-love.

"It was work for me to finally go, you know, 'Okay, I need to be on my own,'" Lopez told Huffington. "That's not a place that's comfortable for me, but that's something that I need to do so that I know I'm okay on my own, that I can handle this, that I got this. You know what I mean? I got these kids, I got this job, I got this house, I got this."

"I don't need anybody else," she continued. "I want somebody else, that would be nice, but I gotta be happy and whole on my own first. I gotta heal from things. You gotta give yourself time and space ... to grow and to realize things about yourself, to become your own best friend, to love yourself. That's what the book is about. The book is about realizing that one of the biggest keys to life is having love for yourself, love inside of you, knowing that the love inside of you is enough, that you are enough, having that self-worth. And then, once you're okay there, then you can share that. Somebody can add to that happiness that you already have."

In "True Love," Lopez discusses ending her engagement to Affleck in 2004. She admits turning to Anthony, whom she wed later that year, to heal the heartbreak:

When Ben and I split up at the moment when I thought we were committing to each other forever it was my first real heartbreak, it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest. People do lots of things to anesthetize themselves in moments like these. Some people do drugs, some drink and some go out and party. I sought out comfort in another person, tried to find someone who could make me feel loved and wanted in my loneliest hours. And that was the moment when Marc reappeared in my life.

Lopez and Anthony separated in 2011 and ultimately divorced, the process of which was finalized this past June. She and ex-boyfriend Casper Smart split that same month, after more than two years together.

The bridal party also went all out in the costume department, dressing as characters like Wolverine, Wonder Woman, Bane, The Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Mario. Naturally, Batman (a.k.a the couple's friend Jarrod) officiated the wedding.

"Thankfully both of our families know how crazy we both are and all played along," the bride wrote on Reddit, where she first posted the photos. "And I think with both of us being big Batman fans they weren't surprised. Plus every person that attended also dressed up! Made me realize we have some awesome family and friends."

Not surprisingly, Ali and Ryan were first introduced by a mutual friend who set them up because they both had Batman tattoos.

Karlie Kloss Proves It: Coding Is Officially in Style!

I ❤️

A video posted by @karliekloss on

AOL's millennial site, Cambio.com, launched its latest initiative with Girls Who Code, a non-profit organization that is committed to closing the gender gap in the technology and engineering sections. As part of the partnership, five of the group's alumnae worked on a complete Cambio.com site overhaul and while some may consider coding a nerdy past-time, we know of at least one supermodel who is on board with the tech skill: Victoria's Secret's own, Karlie Kloss.

After having posted an image of herself learning how to code back in August, Karlie took to social media once again this past weekend to show her support of the tech world, this time tweeting a special message of congratulations to the Cambio team. "The future of technology will be #BuiltByGirls! Congrats to the @GirlsWhoCode alumnae who rebuilt @cambio," wrote the budding supermodel-mogul. Little did we know, she wasn't the only super taking note of the Girls Who Code. Just days before her annual Halloween bash, Heidi Klum shared her support of the initiative with her 2.6 million followers along with such other notables as Maria Menounos, Michelle Phan, Kate Walsh and Rachel Roy.

So, nerdy, square-- call it what you will, but these supers agree: coding is now officially in style!

Gratitude Beauty: My Fave Fragrances for Gifting, Receiving, and Glowing (or, a Truffle Pig's Guide to Natural Perfumes)

$

2014-11-04-fragrances_trufflepigsguide.jpg

I pride myself on having a truffle pig's nose. My olfactory sensibilities pick up on layered nuances, subtle shifts and alluring aromatic banquets. Fragrances are vaporized stories, made visible in fluid form, housed in shields of glass. It's of utmost importance to me that the products I allow into my space are both high-performing and cruelty-free; effective and organic; sophisticated and vegan/beegan. You shouldn't settle for anything less than what genuinely thrills you, and that includes fragrance. Whether it's personal or atmospheric, scents carry energy that can impact you powerfully. I've curated a collection of some of my favorite green beauty treats that I've (repeatedly) purchased. You know something's fabulous when you put your money where your beauty is. And these goodies are magnificent for gifting and receiving. Every drop a globe of delight...

A Perfume Organic: Mejica is my go-to fragrance for fall & winter. It manages to be warm, hugging and cozy while also evoking elegance & allure. The triple vanilla notes kindle a cascade of golden light that'll keep you feeling at home in beauty.

Vered Organic Botanicals: Whether you're out on a hot date or feeling extra dazzling 'cuz it's Tuesday, Vered's Signature Scent is your perfect companion. Bold orange blossom sets the tone as notes of warm vanilla, bitter orange, geranium bourbon as well as subtle rose & jasmine twinkle in & out of the composition. Quite magnetic, this one. It lives in a chic, rectangular 0.5 fl oz glass bottle with roll-on head.

Osmia Organics: Posso is as passionate as the hottest Italian and will have you say, "I can" confidently on days your wings may not be at their fluffiest. Notes of melissa, grapefruit, rose, cedarwood, frankincense and violet leaf lift you up & keep you grounded. Posso is one of those wicked-good potions that is both playful & assertive, therapeutic & visionary. It's a roll-on perfume oil that comes in a spiffy glass vial. Equally gorgeous but for very different reasons, Blum encapsulates the abundance of a sunny summer meadow at first sniff and develops into a voluptuous, starry summer night in the Italian countryside. Ambrosial honeysuckle, orange blossom and neroli mingle sprightly with vanilla, quiet ginger & a whiff of angelica. It's the olfactory equivalent to a hand-made tulle skirt worn to a sparkly, nurturing affair.

Living Libations: I adore their essential oils! In fact, I have 4 cedar boxes full of those gems. Some of my favorite essential oils are lemon (sparkling brightness), frankincense (keeping the energy pure), balsam fir (wide, open space; breathe deeply), blood orange (bursting with juicy pleasure), palo santo (sacred wood, really) & manuka (healing honey all the way). Aside from uplifting the atmosphere in your room, you can use the power of essential oils for cleaning (lemon, peppermint), laundry (tea tree, lavender), beauty (frankincense, rose) & wellbeing (ginger, turmeric). A lot of them are great for culinary use as well. Find yourself some top-notch essential oils and start playing!

Toast: This little Diffuser amplifies the impact of your essential oils. The interior houses a plastic container with lid so the distilled water & essential oils are neatly kept in place. I like to add a few drops of colloidal silver to the mix to eliminate potential mold and bacteria. A clay top that enrobes the unit with a smooch-mouth shaped pinnacle allows the fine mist to diffuse. I've had this sweet aromatherapy fountain for almost a year now with no issues. Plus it's compact, aesthetically pleasing & features a light switch for the halo to your inhale-o ;)

Lotus Wei: Pure Energy Mist, how I adore thee! Hand-collected flower essences of pomegranate, yarrow and pink lotus, among others, form a symphony of bliss with gem essence of black tourmaline in pure water. What does that mean to you? You'll feel centered in your energy (au revoir, energy stinkers). I've even carried the full-size miron bottle around when I knew I'd meet folks I don't particularly enjoy. Lotus Wei does offer handy travel sizes, though (it's just, they're so good I run out quickly). Get it, you'll love it!

May Lindstrom: Even though Saulè is currently not available, I want to share May's first limited edition scent experience with you. Like the French "soleil" for "sun," it captures a sparkling, bright sweetness that instantly uplifts. Once the golden tangerine veils part, a honeyed center supported by softly candied, festive citrus emerges to linger. Saulè comes in a gorgeous, portable miron glass roll-on. Delicious on any pulse point. Maybe May could create a new batch?

Fig & Yarrow: Brandy Monique's Atmosphere Mists are delightful. While you can create your own mists at home, I love the ease & element of sweet expectation when purchasing it. The packaging is magical: think brown glass bottle with black superwoman spray handle, lock/unlock buttons included. The Juniper Sage blend is great for a quick space clearing.

Tata Harper: Love Potion, Tata's first lifestyle scent (as opposed to the other more targeted aromatic treatments) is utterly enchanting. An eclectic combination of aphrodisiac essential oils such as orange peel, jasmine, ylang ylang, sandalwood and grapefruit helps you switch on your glow. We're always gorgeous; we just sometimes forget to turn on the light. And Love Potion is a lovely & lively reminder to do just that. It's more than a fragrance in the sense that it can become your physical cue to love yourself abundantly. And when you adore yourself, the world opens up. Celebrate love & beauty, inside & out. Take the 0.3 fl oz roll-on with you on the go, and/or bask in old-Hollywood opulence at home with the full-size atomizer.

I hope you've found sparkling inspiration and/or re-discovered a healthy treat. Green beauty is so much fun! It allows us to play, create, celebrate & express ourselves in a myriad of powerful ways. Share your favorites with me on social with #GratitudeBeauty.

Be yourself.
Go organic.
And keep in mind: joy is the best cosmetic.

Boyfriend Of The Year Builds An Entire Piece Of Furniture To Propose To His Girlfriend

One man just pulled off a proposal so romantic, it could make even the most hard-hearted person melt a little inside.

On October 9, Blake Bullinger surprised his girlfriend Carly Stene with a handmade jewelry armoire as a gift for their second anniversary. He filled the drawers with a bunch of her favorite things -- a giant Rice Krispie Treat, granola bars, a pumpkin candle, brownie mix and Twix bars.

When she gets to the last drawer, Blake asks her to "dig around in there a little bit." That's when she finds the ring box.

"I was absolutely surprised!" Carly told The Huffington Post via email. "Blake is the most amazing man in the world and the thought of being with him forever brought on a flood of emotions -- all happy ones, of course. When I saw the ring, I got butterflies in my stomach and, as you could tell from the video, I cried a lot! I was truly happy in that moment."

And as if that wasn't romantic enough, Blake uses his shirt to wipe away Carly's post-proposal happy tears. Excuse us while we swoon.

With the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show now just a month away, we have only one question on our minds: who will walk the runway this season? While there have been countless rumors swirling the blogosphere as of late, we now know of at least a few gorgeous models making the trip across the pond next month!

According to an influx of Instagram posts yesterday, Shanina Shaik, Josephine Skriver, Devon Windsor, Eniko Mihalik, Elsa Hosk and Kelly Gale are all set to join Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel, Lindsay Ellingson, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes and Behati Prinsloo at the 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion show, thus causing widespread excitement throughout our office this afternoon.

As for who else is in the cards, all potential Angels need to go through the standard casting process, even if they've previously walked in the show before. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see such VS regulars as Lily Donaldson, Jessica Hart, Maryna Linchuk and Izabel Goulart in the mix, not to mention the UK's reigning 'girls-of-the-moment,' Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn.

Check our the models latest Instagram posts below, and stay tuned for more information regarding models walking in the 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airing December 9th, exclusively on CBS!

10 Things You Never Knew About Your Favorite Clothing Stores

$

HuffPost readers might have voted H&M and Zara as their favorite "fast fashion" stores in the past, but we bet you didn't know that Zara has used hardly any advertising throughout its history or that H&M designs are created by 160 in-house designers and 100 pattern makers.

There's more to your favorite clothing stores than wonderfully-priced tights and dresses. Behold, 10 things you never knew about the places you shop at almost every single day.

1. Forever 21 used to be called "Fashion 21."

137258485

The massive chain opened its first store with the name "Fashion 21" in Los Angeles in 1984. Sales took off, and the owner, Do Won Chang, started opening up new stores every six months and eventually changed the name to "Forever 21."

2. Sephora's workplace is considered a "stage." The employees are "cast members" and their uniforms are "costumes."

453132038

In 2008, Jezebel conducted a very revealing interview with a Sephora employee and found out that working at Sephora is like being a performer. Here's how "Jasmine," the Sephora employee who used a pseudonym during the interview, details life "on set."

She said, "The 'stage' is the sales floor. Then 'backstage' is anywhere that isn't the sales floor. I'm not an employee, I'm a 'cast member.' It's never called a uniform, it's called a 'costume.' And I mean... that's just like, wearing black. Your bosses are 'leadership.'"

3. ASOS has a monthly magazine.

asos

It was created in 2007, and it is distributed in print around the United Kingdom, but anyone can read the magazine online. The December 2014 issue has some pretty nifty features, including an interview with Rita Ora and an interview with a female coder.

4. Topshop and Miss Selfridge are both owned by the same company.

topshop

Both stores, as well as Dorothy Perkins, are owned by Arcadia Group.

5. And Gap Inc. owns INTERMIX.

454142520

That's right. Gap Inc., the company that owns The Gap and Old Navy, also owns the high-end retailer INTERMIX. Gap Inc. acquired the company in 2012.

6. Zara was originally called "Zorba."

451135582

The ex-husband of the late founder of Zara, Rosalia Mera, first started selling nightwear in a small shop in Spain under the name "Zorba," but a nearby bar with a similar name reportedly expressed concern so "Zorba" was changed to "Zara."

7. You can buy home goods at H&M.

hm

The store sells everything from living room pillows, to bathmats and napkins.

8. Uniqlo designed uniforms for a few Asian countries in the 2013 Special Olympics.

160322048
Athletes from Japan arrive during the Opening Ceremony of the 2013 Pyeongchang Special Olympics World Winter Games.

The Japanese retailer provided uniforms for South Korea, Singapore and Japan from its "Heat Tech" thermal line.

9. Old Navy was named after a bar.

For six years after its inception in 1983, you could only buy J. Crew duds from the catalog. In 1989, J. Crew opened its flagship store in New York City's South Street Seaport.

Kelly Rowland is officially a mom!

The Destiny's Child alum and her husband Tim Witherspoon welcomed a baby boy, Titan Jewell Witherspoon, on Tuesday, her rep confirmed to People. This is the first child for the pair, who got married in May.

“We are thrilled to announce that today we are the proud parents of our first son,” Rowland said in a statement. “We are blessed to report everyone is healthy and happy!”

The 33-year-old first revealed her pregnancy in June via a cryptic (and cute) Instagram post with a pair of father-and-son sneakers along with the caption, "I'll be stuntin' like my daddy."

A few days later, she let her growing belly confirm all the rumors in another Instagram post:

Congratulations to the new parents!

Cynthia Rowley On Why It's Easier To Make It In Fashion Now

"Yes, You Can Make It In Fashion" is a HuffPost Style series that profiles men and women across every area of the fashion industry and explores how they rose to the top, how they thrive and practical advice they have for young people trying to break into their world.

She has written several books, appeared on "America's Next Top Model" and "Project Runway," collaborated with Target, Band-Aid and Roxy, launched a candy store and is the designer behind one of the most successful brands in the country -- and Cynthia Rowley is just getting started. The American fashion designer has been making clothes for almost four decades, which is no small feat in an industry that is always clamoring after the newest and shiniest thing.

cr

While Rowley is a style veteran, she keeps reinventing herself season after season -- she recently launched an activewear line and teamed up with Zosia Mamet for an eyewear collection. Clearly the Illinois native knows something that we don't. To give us some insight into her prolific career, we sat down with the mother of two and picked her brain on all things fashion. Here's what we learned:

On how being an outsider has helped her in the fashion world:

I do think that being a little bit of an outsider creates a tension and keeps you always forging ahead and always on your toes. It's kept me from me falling into the expected steps that a fashion designer usually goes through. It's made me feel like I can take more risks, like I have nothing to lose.

On the most challenging part of being a designer:

The ideas are always the easy part. I joke at work that all we do everyday is talk people into making things for us and try to figure out how to get something made. One of the things that's really important here and part of the culture of the company is to be inventive and do something that's never been done before and try and influence something that hasn't been influenced before. With that comes all of the problems of how do you get that done? That's always the challenge and yet the greatest satisfaction. How do I get it made?

On what she looks for when she's hiring:

I think it's a mix of a singular vision and a collaborative spirit. I like to feel like I have an elite group. It's really hard to find the person that fits in. A lot of us have worked together for a really, really, really long time, like I don't even want to say how long, more than 15 years some of us. So when you create a group like that, to add newness, which we do, we're always looking for new people, it just becomes harder and harder to find the right fit. [We always look for] somebody who has a strong point of view, yet understands the aesthetic and the culture that we built. And then a curiosity, forward thinking. I want to be able to talk about art, I want to be able to talk about food, I want to be able to talk about a healthy lifestyle -- it's not just fashion, it's really an interest in many things and then how does it go through the filter of our brand.

On why it's easier for fashion designers to make it now as opposed to 20 years ago:

I think it's much easier now. So it used to be that you made a collection, you presented and then it had to go through all these filters. An editor had to write about it, it had to be a positive review, then the stores had to come see it, then they had to buy it, then they had to put it in their stores and someone had to come in the store and buy it, you know what I mean? [There were] so many more tiers of acceptance. Now, you can make a few pieces, put it out there in whatever way you want to and sell something. And if the end customer loves it, that's really all that matters. In the end that was all that ever mattered then and it's all that matters now. Do people like it? It was just harder to jump through all the hoops before. It's easy to get traction now, you see the new kid on the block and then you see Oscar [de la Renta], a legend and in between, that's the burn rate -- in between where you have to survive and build and keep building and have a strong business until you can get to that point. So it's wilderness in between, that's where the hard work comes in. I do think it's really easy to start and everyone loves something new, but then to sustain and get over that middle work, until you become more established, that's the hard part and I have to say don't give up.

On how she stays balanced:

I have no time to myself. I definitely don't. You know when those moms say, "What about me time?" -- there is no me time. I don't know, I don't feel exhausted, I don't feel tired. I love hanging out with kids and my husband -- I love traveling with them. We can go on the most epic journeys in like five days. I think it's important to incorporate everything into all parts of your life. I don't separate all the things -- during the day, I talk to my kids, they come and visit, on weekends we go crazy and do lots of activities. I'm just not good at relaxing.

On advice she would give to her daughter if she wanted to become a fashion designer:

Runnnnn. [laughs]
