So you thought you had to be a supermodel to rock a crop top? Think again!

Last night at the 2014 SAG Awards, Kerry Washington rocked a custom Prada crop top and she's pregnant! That's right, the "Scandal" actress showed off her baby bump with a whole lot of sass and a surprisingly level of class. It takes a brave heart and a true style star to pull off an ensemble like that!

Lupita Nyong'o Gets Gorgeous In Gucci For The 2014 SAG Awards (PHOTOS)

Lupita. Lupita. LUPITA!

The "12 Years A Slave" actress, Lupita Nyong'o, completely shut down the red carpet at the Golden Globes. Slayed the scene at the Critics' Choice Awards. And last night killed it at the SAG Awards.

The Kenyan beauty can simply do no wrong. Before winning her SAG award for Best Supporting Actress, she stunned on the red carpet in an aquamarine-hued Gucci gown with a fabulous floral embellished neckline. We also love how versatile Lupita is styling her T.W.A (teeny weeny Afro). The 30-year-old star has straightened her tresses, rocked a faux widow's peak and for Saturday night's festivities opted for a sleek flat top.

Check out Lupita's lovely look below! Are you a fan?

Think You Can't Go Blonde? Stars On This Week's Best & Worst Beauty List Make It Look Easy

0
0
There wasn't a red carpet or panel this week that celebrity blondes didn't dominate.

Brooklyn Decker sported some seriously stunning waves while promoting the new CBS television series "Friends With Better Lives." Meanwhile, Molly Sims looked like a '60s sex kitten with her tousled waves at a star-studded party for designer Diane von Furstenberg. And Heidi Klum wore a bangin' hairdo to host the 50th anniversary celebration of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Scroll down to see how the hottest blondes in Hollywood do it (plus more noteworthy hair and makeup looks).

BEST: Brooklyn Decker

brooklyn decker

THIS is the kind of hair we're trying to achieve when we use a clipless curling iron. Decker's thick, lush waves cascade down her shoulders and work well with simple eyeliner and berry pink lipstick.

BEST: Molly Sims

molly sims

Full eyelashes are hard to pull off on the red carpet (much less in "real life"), but Sims succeeds by keeping the rest of her makeup minimal and pairing her '60s-inspired eye makeup with loose, tousled curls.

BEST: Heidi Klum

heidi klum

Heidi is giving us supermodel hair with her lash-grazing bangs and sleek hair. We also love how she used the classic white eyeliner trick to brighten up her eyes.

BEST: Lupita Nyong'o

lupita nyongo

What else can we say about the "12 Years A Slave" star's hair and makeup that hasn't been said? So we'll just keep gushing about her glowy complexion.

BEST: Camilla Belle

camilla belle

We are beyond elated to see Belle finally growing into this bob haircut -- the flirty flip frames her face beautifully. And her bold brows, curvy winged-out liner and pink lips would make for great night-out makeup.

WORST: Kaley Cuoco

kaley cuoco

If we could only convince this "Big Bang Theory" actress to ditch the awkward eyeshadow she's known for during awards show season. Cuoco ends up looking extremely tired or hungover.

WORST: Zosia Mamet

zosia mamet

Just as we were really starting to like Mamet's choppy bob haircut, she goes and ruins it with harsh brown eye makeup and unkempt brows.

WORST: Tyra Banks

tyra banks

If Tyra Banks were at an Amy Winehouse-themed costume party, this hair and makeup would be okay. But she's not, and this simply does nothing for her naturally stunning looks.

WORST: Kate Mara

kate mara

Whoever told Kate Mara it was a good idea to weigh down her scalp with all that gel is not a good friend. The sloppy 'do draws attention to her dry and parched blonde ends.

WORST: Aneesa Ferreira

anessa ferreira

Let this be a lesson on how NOT to apply bronzer. The "Real World" alum's skin tone looks super orange because she's wearing faux glow like blush. But we love the dark lipstick!

What Does A Porn Star Carry In Her Luggage? (PHOTOS)

LAS VEGAS -- Sex can bring plenty of baggage along with it -- but when getting freaky is your job, what do you bring along when you travel?

At the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo this week, porn star Tasha Reign was gracious enough to pull down her zipper and show her most unmentionable of unmentionables: her luggage.

The adult actress, now perhaps best known in the mainstream media for her sex toys marketed toward "bronies," brought four chest-sized bags to the convention center in Las Vegas, full of all the necessities.

"People think I'm a hoarder," Reign said through giggles. "It's so much stuff. I brought more because of the AVN awards, but I usually always carry a lot. One bag alone has glitter, bronzer, fake eyelashes, toys, products and clothes."

She has one bag for clothes and another for costumes and shoes...

... and another still for sex toys.

Her garments spilled out across her hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel. Her makeup bag alone couldn't contain itself. She says it's all worth it to "look great for the fans. They came here to see me, after all."

Meanwhile, Chanel Preston said she couldn't live without her promotional product and her flats, "because walking around in heels all day sucks!"

This week, when we spotted Reese Witherspoon in a leopard print skirt, we knew we had to have it. Though we thought we were going to cringe when we saw the price, the patterned mini is actually on sale for $135 -- something we can totally save up for.

We were also pleasantly surprised to find out that Kourtney Kardashian's workout t-shirt set her back a mere $53 and Khloe Kardashian's impossibly cool Nike capris only cost her $100. It looks like we have some shopping to do this weekend!

Check out all the cheap finds of the week and let us know which ones are on your wish list!

Renting Kate Middleton's Clothes Is Now A Reality (Sort Of)

Since the wonder that is Rent The Runway came into our lives, we've been able to obtain otherwise unattainable designer dresses at a fraction of the price, allowing us to live out our fashion fantasies even if just for one night.

But a site that allows us to live out our royal fantasies? That takes things to a whole other level. Girl Meets Dress is a UK-based competitor to Rent-The-Runway, and Hello magazine reports that the site now has dress styles worn by Kate Middleton for rental. Girl Meets Dress has just stocked 14 items by Beulah London, a fave British clothing line of the the duchess and her sister.

Of those 14 items, Hello reports, Kate owns at least three. Her red gown, worn at a fundraising gala in 2011, can be rented for £79 (about $130). Her floaty white knee-length dress, which she donned at a mosque in Malaysia, can be had for just £59 (about $97).

Knowing you've got the same level of taste as the Duchess of Cambridge? Priceless. Check it out at GirlMeetsDress.com.

One of the best parts of awards shows are the red carpet interviews, obviously. But even better? The behind-the-scenes antics... captured on Instagram.

For Saturday night's 2014 SAG Awards, it was also the perfect source for any style moments we missed (Brad Pitt's faux-hawk anyone?!) and everything leading up to the red carpets. For instance, Mindy Kaling is officially our favorite person ever, and if you haven't checked out her Instagram, go do it now.

Scroll down for Helen Mirren's first selfie, a precious moment between Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong'o and more Insta goodness.

RANKED: The Best Bedroom Paint Colors For Sleep (PHOTOS)

We've all had those sleepless nights where you just can't get a little shut eye and you know exactly why -- maybe you had that mid-afternoon coffee a little too late in the day and your spouse's snoring has reached an unthinkable decibel. Or maybe the neighbors decided to throw a party that carried on long after your bedtime.

But what about when the cause of your tossing and turning is not so obvious? Well, according to an infographic created by Men's Health, a decor decision you made months (or even years) ago could be to blame. And the findings are pretty troubling for homeowners who went with those deep eggplant or radiant orchid color schemes in their masters.

Moral of the story? Go with a blue hue in the bedroom, and sleep a little easier.

Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Wow At The SAG Awards

Ben Affleck had a big award show season last year, but in 2014, it's all about his wife Jennifer Garner, who is a part of the "Dallas Buyers Club" cast.

Garner, who was nominated alongside her "Dallas Buyers Club" co-stars for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, walked the red carpet on Saturday (Jan. 18) at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards in a Max Mara custom gown.

Inside the Shrine Auditorium, Garner sat with her handsome husband Affleck, who looked dapper in a tuxedo. The pair chatted with each other before meeting up with Affleck's best friend Matt Damon.

Although the cast of "American Hustle" took home the best cast award, both Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto won SAG Awards for their performances in the Jean-Marc Vallée film.

“It was a really hard movie to shoot. We shot it in 25 days which is insane ... there was no time to chat or catch up ... and it was kind of good that way because I just wanted it to be done, so those guys could eat," Garner told Ryan Seacrest in November, adding, "but they gave these incredible beautiful performances.”

'American Dream' Ends For Man Selling Casey Anthony's Pants

You may have just lost your chance to walk a mile in Casey Anthony's clothing.

A controversial website specializing in serial killer memorabilia has removed Anthony's personal property just days after putting them on sale, Orlando TV station WESH reported.

Anthony was acquitted in 2011 of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, but the notoriety of her case enticed the owner of Serial Killers Ink to acquire seven pairs of Anthony's pants and six of her handbags, site owner Eric Holler told HLN News early last week.

Holler bought them from a woman who picked them up at a garage sale at Anthony's parents Orlando home in June.

Earlier in the week, Holler showed no compunctions about profiting from the products despite questions about the ethics of it. Each item was priced at $800 and came with a letter of authenticity.

"Casey Anthony is a money-making business. (She) herself is a money-making business and I'm just cashing in. I'm living the American dream," Holler said on Jan. 15. "I feel no guilt."

But two days later, Holler took down his Casey Anthony section and released a statement, reported by WESH.

"I have decided to remove the Anthony garage sale items from my website, Serial Killers Ink. No one else was involved in this decision other than myself. I have given it much thought and I do not wish to be associated in any way, shape or form with the death of Caylee Anthony. I apologize to anyone that may have taken offense in the offering of these items."

So-called "murderabilia" that includes the personal effects of convicted killers like cult leader Charles Manson, cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer and the "Son of Sam" shooter David Berkowitz remains on sale.

Cate Blanchett Slams Matthew McConaughey At The SAG Awards

0

When Cate Blanchett took to the stage to accept her SAG Award for Best Actress, her acceptance speech was almost instantly cut off by a teleprompter informing her she had run out of time.

"I've been away from the film industry for a long time making theater ... 29 seconds?! Matthew McConaughey spoke about Neptune and I think I can have five seconds," she scoffed, to much applause.

Blanchett was primarily taking aim at the ceremony procedures, but McConaughey's speech was certainly a bit off-the-cuff.

When he accepted the statue for Best Actor, in addition to talking about Neptune, McConaughey told a story about a man who escaped Russia and built a boat.

Blanchett won a Golden Globe just three days earlier and beat out Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, Sandra Bullock and Emma Thompson for the SAG award. Watch her whole speech here.

Khloe Kardashian Rocks A Crop Top And Clinging Pencil Skirt

In case you haven't noticed, Khloe Kardashian looks pretty amazing lately. The 29-year-old flaunted her trim figure in a collage shared on Instagram yesterday (Jan. 18).

"Baby shower look thanks to @joycebonelli@jenatkinhair we cut my hair bitches!!!!" she captioned the photo.

As a few tabloids have noted, Khloe's look is almost identical to the one Kim wore to dinner with Kanye West last week. So, who wore it best?

In case you, too, are in the market for a ribbed crop top and clinging pencil skirt, Celebuzz discovered that both outfits were pulled from the same Calvin Klein collection.

5 Perfect Quotes From HBO's 'Girls' Season 3, Episode 3

0
0
Here at HuffPost Women, one of the things we love most about Lena Dunham's HBO show, "Girls," is the incisive, witty and hilarious dialogue that Dunham and the rest of her writing team come up with every week. So instead of simply recapping Season 3, we decided to pick five quotable gems from each episode.

Episode 3: "She Said OK"

In episode 3, the gang are off to a Brooklyn bar to celebrate Hannah's 25th birthday, providing a matrix of relational dysfunction, passive aggression, latent anger, and misplaced nostalgia. Adam's sister Caroline (guest star Gaby Hoffman, who we've loved since her "Now and Then" days) abruptly occupies his and Hannah's modest love nest. Marnie rather heroically plans Hannah's birthday party and then promptly makes it awkward with coerced karaoke, Ray and Shoshanna exchange platitudes awkwardly, Tako with a K is back, and Adam gifts Hannah his baby tooth on a chain -- which is both totally gross and, in the universe these two exist in, unbelievably sweet. Unfortunately, the evening ends in a bloody mess.

marnieep3

1. Caroline on rejection: "How can a man who loves animals with such a haunting totality just turn around and brutally rebuff me?"

2. Marnie on making your ex jealous: "This is like, the nicest distraction for me to have. It's so good for me to throw myself into this. And I'll have a bunch of party pictures that I can post to Instagram. Because I know he checks it ... He f**king checks it."

3. Random guy at the bar betrays an eternal truth: "Why does any guy come to a party with dancing? A girl told me to come."

4. Adam on mental breakdown etiquette: "She doesn't even have the common courtesy to implode alone."

5. Ray to Shoshanna, rejecting post-breakup friendship -- and nicotine: "I'm sorry, I don't think I want to be friends with you. I just don't. I don't want to be polite with you. I don't want to have small talk with you. Anyway, enjoy your evening. Enjoy your life. Cool cigarette."

Honorable mention, disqualified due to non-"Girls" origin, but too wise to forgo. Edie Brickwell & The New Bohemians through Marnie Michaels: "I'm not aware of too many things, I know what I know, if you know what I mean."

We totally get it.

Spanx And Other Shapewear Are Literally Squeezing Your Organs

0
0
"I hate Spanx because even though they look so good under your clothes, sometimes mid-wedding I'll be like, 'I feel so nauseous,'" actress Jennifer Coolidge once said. "They're so tight, who knows what you're cutting off?"

Turns out, that star was on to something. While we can all relate to the aforementioned pain and suffering, most of us have no idea about the health ramifications of shapewear. Are we hurting our bodies in the name of smooth garment lines? We spoke to gastroenterologist Dr. John Kuemmerle, dermatologist Dr. Maryann Mikhail and chiropractor Dr. Karen Erickson to find out.

When you wear shapewear, you're compressing your organs.

Shapewear couldn't do its job if it wasn't tight. Unfortunately, this leaves your stomach, intestine and colon compressed, which Dr. Kuemmerle says can worsen acid reflux and heartburn. Restrictive clothing can also provoke erosive esophagitis.

Your digestive tract is also affected, explains Dr. Erickson. The intestines are supposed to contract and move food along, but when they're compressed over a long period of time, the flow of digestion is stifled. "It's like when people eat a huge meal and then unbuckle their jeans," Dr. Kuemmerle says. This damage, though not permanent, can lead to unpleasant symptoms like abdominal discomfort, bloating and gas.

Another hallmark of shapewear? Shallow breath. When you inhale, your diaphragm expands and your abdomen flares out, Dr. Erickson says, but shapewear restricts this movement and decreases the excursion in respiration.

That includes compressing your bowels.

Those with functional bowel disorders and irritable bowel syndrome should wear shapewear with caution. "In someone who has weakness down below and a tendency towards incontinence," Dr. Kuemmerle explains, "increasing intra-abdominal pressure can certainly provoke episodes of incontinence."

Dr. Erickson also notes that there can be a tendency for those wearing shapewear to not to want to go to the bathroom. "You've got all of this pressure on your bladder from the shapewear pressing down," she says. "If you postpone urinating, it can cause stress incontinence, where you leak, or it can exaggerate stress incontinence with people who already have it."

You can develop tingling, numbness and pain in your legs.

Sitting in shapewear can lead to a reversible condition called meralgia paresthetica, which is when the peripheral nerve in your thigh is compressed. This leads to tingling, numbness and pain in your legs, all of which can come and go or become constant. "It's like putting these giant rubber bands around your upper thighs and tightening them when you sit," Dr. Erickson says. (She's also seen this condition in those who wear too-tight pantyhose and pants.)

This rubber band effect can also decrease your circulation and lead to blood clots. When you sit in shapewear, Dr. Erickson explains that those genetically prone to varicosities can develop varicose veins and lymph congestion, which manifests as swollen ankles.

Your muscles will suffer if you rely on shapewear for good posture.

"Shapewear is not a substitute for having strong muscles," Dr. Erickson says. It's important to develop muscle tone, because it's those muscles that hold your posture in perfect alignment. Many people use shapewear as a crutch to avoid using those muscles, Dr. Erickson says.

And don't be fooled into thinking that shapewear works like a medical back brace. "Shapewear's a little different in that it's not therapeutically designed -- it's cosmetically designed," she explains.

Plus, shapewear can create an environment prone to infections.

Shapewear is occlusive, meaning it traps moisture and anything else under it, which predisposes shapewear wearers to both yeast and bacterial infections. Dr. Mikhail says that the most common infection she sees is folliculitis, since bacteria often gets trapped among hair follicles and causes red puss-filled bumps. "Usually folliculitis can be easily treated with topical antibiotics," she says. "But recurrent infections may develop antibiotic resistance, meaning they get harder and harder to treat."

Dr. Mikhail notes that the risks are higher in overweight individuals, diabetics and those who sweat excessively.

Like everything in life, it's important to exercise moderation: Don't wear them too often.

"Everyone I know owns shapewear -- it's kind of a miracle," Dr. Erickson admits. "But I think we want to be mindful to not wear it on a day-in and day-out basis." It's not a problem if you wear it for an evening or a special occasion, she says, but it's not a good idea to wear it daily and sit in it for hours on end.

If you're exhibiting any of the aforementioned symptoms, all three doctors recommend avoiding shapewear until the issues are completely resolved.

Lastly, choosing the right fit is key.

There are so many different types of shapewear out there. You should pick the right style, but you also need to pick the right size, Dr. Erickson says. "You really want to pick shapewear that actually fits you," she explains. "You want it to do its job, but you don't want to get something so small that it's damaging you." For example, shapewear that goes up to your bra line isn't a good idea for those with acid reflux or heartburn, as that area is particularly sensitive for people predisposed to those conditions.

A good way to tell if your shapewear fits correctly? "It's not cutting in anywhere," says Dr. Erickson, who recommends trying out different brands and materials. "All it really does is smooth out the rough edges and you can easily get in and out of it without a struggle."

People really love their Spanx...

Kanye West Presents A.P.C. Collection, Admits 'I Have A Very Bad Education In Fashion'

0
0
Kanye West's first stab at Paris Fashion Week didn't go so smoothly, with one review declaring about his 2011 womenswear line, "Kanye West's fashion debut was like being subjected to an hour long MRI scan -- but not as much fun." By September 2012, it was announced Kanye would not be showing at Paris Fashion Week the next season.

But the ever determined rapper-cum-designer gave it another go in 2013 with a collaboration with French brand A.P.C. He started small -- just jeans, tees and a hoodie -- but the collection was actually a huge hit. So this past Saturday in Paris, West introduced his second capsule collection for A.P.C.

Editors captured the presentation in photos on Twitter, while The Cut was there to speak to West directly:

West appeared to be a little nervous, saying with a modest laugh, "I have a very bad education in fashion, I kind of learned it on Style.com."

He had reason to be nervous, given how poorly his first attempts at high fashion were received. So how'd he do this time? Mixed reviews yet again. Check out photos taken in Paris on Saturday.

How does his menswear compare with his womenswear?

Celebrities Who Have Offered Terrible Love Advice

0
0
When it comes to matters of the heart, why anyone would think to take advice from a celebrity is beyond us. They tend to have spotty track records when it comes to relationships. Some think it's a good idea to get engaged after mere months of casual dating, and they are often shocked -- shocked! -- when it doesn't work out (even though they are twice more likely to divorce than the rest of us).

Despite all this, the media seems to believe that the public craves dating advice from celebrities. What do they know that we plebeians do not? As it happens, not much. While celebs frequently dispense cliches, often stressing the importance of communication, sometimes some truly awful advice makes it past even the most judicious publicist and into the mainstream:
