Every Wedding Dress Appointment Summed Up In Approximately 700 Words

Welcome to our bridal salon! I'm your personal gown consultant. We're going to find your dress today! I can just feel it. Can't you?

Let's begin by perusing the items here in the showroom. Oh. Please don't touch. And do you mind taking a step back? You're breathing too closely on the gowns. From the relationship we've developed over these past 20 seconds, I know I have the perfect dress for you. I'll be right back.

This is Eden. She's a strapless, lace trumpet gown with a sweetheart neckline. You'll love this dress -- Eden's our most popular seller and you said you wanted something different!

The sample I'm having you step into is not even close to your size. Two thousand, three hundred and fifty-seven brides previously tried it on. Sixty-three women put it on just this morning! I will use these construction clamps, found in your local hardware store, to pull the dress reallyreally tight, giving you the false assurance that the gown fits. I need to pinch six clamps down the back of the dress, like so. Most of my brides start uncontrollably sweating at this moment too; I'll be done in a jiffy.

Did I pinch your skin? Oh good, you're not bleeding. Let's hold hands while you slip on these four-inch heels that are definitely not your size. Careful! We're not responsible if you roll an ankle.

Looks like I'll need to use one more clamp for the center of the neckline. Just try to ignore this mass of heavy-duty steel when you're in front of the mirror. This is the most money you'll ever spend on a single garment, so I want to ensure that you have a sufficiently imprecise idea of what you could look like on your wedding day.

Come teeter on this tiny pedestal, and channel your inner Amazonian princess while analyzing your reflection in this poorly lit dressing space. Imagine yourself about eighteen inches shorter, proportional and standing in bright light. That's what you might look like on the big day!

Now, I think this gown really tells your guests, "I'm a vision of the landed gentry's spirited heroine," with a hint of, "I am honored to be nominated among such a talented group of women."

What do you mean you can't envision how Eden really looks on you? I used seven performance-enhanced clothespins to ensure this is almost definitely, vaguely, exactly what you will look like at your wedding.

Oh, now that you mention it -- Eden actually comes in a blush mayonnaise tone of bright off-white. You'll notice that this sample looks a smidge jaundiced pale pigeon breast right now. That's because the fabric has oxidized during the half-decade it's been in our stockroom. Oh, and the lace will be a touch iridescent, so the dress either looks French eggshell white on some brides, or almond milk latte white on others. Regardless, just know that the gown will lack the pastel puke undertones that you're seeing in this sample. Though I must admit -- this greenish tint is becoming on you! You'll know what the real shade will look like against your skin tone when the dress arrives six weeks before your wedding date, which is not enough time to make any changes should you dislike it.

Even though you said you do not want to wear a veil, I am clipping the piece d'resistance on your scalp to force an emotional spasm. Now, slightly bend your arms at the elbows and bring your hands together in front of your waist, like you're holding freshly cut roses from Oprah's bountiful garden.

Yes, Eden is under your budget, by one whole dollar, but we're having a price increase right now for reasons that remain unclear. So you'll want to put in your order five minutes ago. No, alterations are not included. Rates begin at the cost of three flower girl dresses plus one ring-bearing puggle tuxedo.

Oh, it looks like my next bride arrived! Please take this index card noting the name of the dress you didn't ask for, at the price you can't afford, with the alteration costs that will require you to forgo offering cocktails at your cocktail reception. Before you leave, we are offering a one-time-only 10 percent discount. Would you like to place your order today?

Beautiful Pregnancy Time-Lapse Shows New Mom And New Nursery Transform

When graphic designer Byron Louie's wife Monique was pregnant with their first child, the excited dad-to-be decided to document their nine-month journey to parenthood. He took a photo of the expectant mama each day and turned the series into a beautiful time-lapse video.

"It was a nice creative outlet to help calm the nerves that came with all of this, being that it's my first child," Byron told The Huffington Post. The video also shows the transformation of their guest room into a nursery and the growing excitement of their dogs, Munster and Dunder (who had his own viral moment with another awesome time-lapse video of his first year).

Byron and Monique welcomed their son Dylan into the world in May, and so far, the dad says parenthood is "amazing." Gushing about his wife, he added, "Everyday is a learning experience, and though not easy, she seems to be a natural. She loves every minute of it even the late night feedings."

The family dogs are also thrilled to have a new little brother. "They will not leave his side," Byron said. "Dunder just wants to lick him all the time and Munster will just stare at him almost as if he is a proud parent. It's really cute to see."

The new father said he hopes the video helps other parents learn that while pregnancy is not easy, it can still "be an enjoyable experience." He continued, "Staying positive and having fun is the best thing you can do during this time. Also, take lots of pictures because these days will fly by."

They sure do.

4 Summer Hair Treatments Straight From Your Kitchen

$

Between the hot weather and our hot styling tools, summer can be rather unforgiving when it comes to hair. But instead of heading to the salon to undo the damage, you might want check out what's in your own kitchen first.

Susie Castillo, author of "Confidence Is Queen," swears by a few simple, edible hair masks that use certain foods to protect your hair and keep it silky all season. Tip: even if your hair isn't yet showing signs of damage, Castillo recommends using these masks as preventative treatments.

"Maintenance is so important, too," she tells #OWNSHOW in the above video. "And when it comes to beauty routines, I just feel like being proactive... These hair masks are great just to maintain your hair looking fantastic."

1. Coconut Oil

coconut oil

Recipe: Roughly 1 tsp. coconut oil (more, if you have longer hair)

Twice a month, Castillo applies coconut oil to her hair as soon as she gets out of the shower. "I warm it up in my hands. I start at my scalp and just massage all the way down," she says. "I like applying it when my hair is wet, so it kind of locks in the moisture."

Rather than rinsing, Castillo prefers to leave the oil treatment in overnight.

2. Avocado, Honey and Olive Oil

avocado and honey

Recipe: 1 avocado, 1 Tbsp. honey, 1 Tbsp. olive oil

Make this effective mixture by whipping the avocado with the honey and olive oil. After applying the mask to your hair, maximize its benefits by applying heat.

"Put a shower cap on... And I like to add heat when it's all in there," Castillo says. "I'll take my diffuser, put that on my blow dryer and then just [run it] on the outside of the shower cap."

3. Banana

mashed banana

Recipe: 2 ripe bananas, 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil

Mash the banana in a bowl and add the olive oil. "Mix it up and put it in your hair," Castillo says. "You can do the same little trick with the shower cap and the heat with the blow dryer."

4. Cornstarch

cornstarch

Recipe: A few sprinkles of cornstarch

Looking to offset oil or grease in your hair? Castillo agrees with #OWNSHOW host Ami Desai that cornstarch can be a great substitute for expensive dry shampoos.

Simply powder a little bit of cornstarch on your scalp and brush it in -- and don't be afraid of the white color standing out among dark hair. "If you mix it in, and you even blow dry over it, it helps diffuse all of the white powder. It absorbs all the oil in your hair," Desai says. "It totally works."

Bonus tip: O, The Oprah Magazine's Beauty Director, Val Monroe, says to control frizzy hair by using a shampoo and conditioner containing silicone.

Elle Macpherson On Finding Her Confidence After 50

She's long been considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, but Elle Macpherson says her confidence nowadays has little to do with looks.

“There’s one thing being 20 and gorgeous with legs up to your armpits and beautiful tight skin, and there’s another thing to be 51," the supermodel said in an interview with Australia's Sunrise talk show. "Finally you get to the stage and say, ‘I have been known to be one of the most beautiful women in the world and felt really not confident and sure of myself'."

Dubbed "the body" for her enviously toned figure, Macpherson says confidence and beauty come from within. "As I’ve matured, what I’ve realized is that it doesn’t really matter what I look like, the most important thing is, ‘how do I feel?’”

Since turning 50, she's learned to take better care of her body. It's this holistic approach to aging which inspired her to create her own wellness brand, WelleCo, which sells "Super Elixir," a powder supplement she says is an anti-aging treatment that's "cheaper than a face cream." Besides her diet, she also does a variety of exercises including swimming, yoga and hiking to keep "the body" in shape.

"Now that I am 50, health and wellness [are] hugely valuable," Macpherson said in an interview with Yahoo! Beauty last year. I see so many people my age who are not well, so I value it."

Beautiful, both inside and out.

Johnny Depp Is The New Face Of Dior Men's Fragrance, And All Our Dreams Have Come True

Just when we thought Dior couldn't get any better, they go and name Johnny Depp the face of their brand new men's fragrance.

A photo posted by Dior Official (@dior) on

Wearing a little guyliner, quite a bit of jewelry and just enough hair gel, Depp brings the perfect amount of grit to his new role.

But let's be honest, it was only a matter of time before Dior nabbed the 51-year-old actor for one of its campaigns -- the storied French design house has a history of picking insanely good-looking men to rep their cologne -- previous faces include Jude Law and Robert Pattinson.

Though exact details on the fragrance (such as its name) are being kept under wraps until closer to the September 2015 launch date, we have a feeling it will be just as sexy as the man whose face is in the ads. And it sounds like he could use a boost, considering a recent dip in his career and some trouble he's facing regarding an alleged dog-smuggling incident. We're rooting for you, Johnny.

'Cheater' Banner Flies Over Bobby Flay's Walk Of Fame Ceremony

Bobby Flay made history as the first celebrity chef to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, but the event didn't go as quite as planned.

The ceremony was literally overshadowed by a plane with a trailing banner that read "CHEATER." As the plane flew overhead, Flay, 50, delivered his speech to a crowd that included his daughter, Sophie Flay, 19.

It's not clear who is responsible for the conspicuous message, or if Flay even noticed it while he spoke, but he is currently in the middle of an increasingly nasty divorce with actress Stephanie March. The couple had been married for nearly 10 years before they split in early April. Last week, In Touch reported that March is challenging a prenuptial agreement on the grounds that Flay had affairs with three women, including actress January Jones.

At this time, neither Flay nor Jones has commented on allegations, which took place in 2010 according to court documents filed by March.

Chandra Dagulin was drawn to the beauty industry as an outlet for artistic expression and a way to earn a living. “I’m a creative person from a working-class upbringing and had been on my own off and on since I was 16,” she said. So she was in pursuit of a calling that “paid well enough to keep me off the streets and out of strip clubs,” given how plentiful they are in her hometown of Portland, Oregon.

The Important Lesson To Learn From Caitlyn Jenner's First Manicure

A manicure isn't necessarily something most folks would consider a big deal. But in Caitlyn Jenner's case, it was a very important part of a dream glamsquad experience that brought her first public appearance presenting as a woman to the cover of Vanity Fair.

Celebrity nail artist Deborah Lippmann, master makeup artist Mark Carrasquillo, and hair guru Oribe worked together to make Jenner feel comfortable and beautiful on set. While they each played a part in the cover look, it was Lippmann -- the first person to ever give Jenner a professional manicure -- who shed light on the fact that something as small as a mani can mean so much more. As she explained to Vanity Fair:

"Looking back on my career, this shoot was historic on so many levels, because I realized how important nails are to transgender women. Nothing compared to this cover. It opened my heart, and it opened my eyes, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it."

Of course, not all transgender women transition in the same ways; some trans women may never be interested in receiving a manicure. For others, however, something like receiving their very first professional beauty treatment can be an important -- and defining -- milestone. Prior to the shoot, Jenner had only done her own nails.

Lippmann took to Instagram to show her support with a photo of the iconic cover and the caption: "I am proud to have given @CaitlynJenner her first manicure and pedicure. Thank you Caitlyn for opening my eyes, heart and soul. I adore you. Xo."

Art by: Chanel Parks

Watches aren't quite as archaic as you might think. Sure, your smart phone can tell you the time, but it's very hard to discreetly check your phone during a meeting without someone noticing. It is, however, very easy to quickly glance at your wrist.

Those who still wear a watch understand the importance of the accessory -- especially men. Guys don't usually wear any jewelry other than a watch, so it needs to make a statement. But at the same time, it shouldn't be so overpowering or stylized that it doesn't work in any situation and with a host of different outfits.

One might think that in order to have a stylish watch, you need to drop a lot of dough -- but that's far from the case. There are tons of cheap options that will ensure you look put together without breaking the bank.

Behold, 12 fashionable men's watches for under $100.

Doesn't it feel like you're always buying a gift for someone? You've got loved ones celebrating graduations, bridal showers and weddings, along with tons of birthdays peppered throughout. Beyond making sure you've got all the dates right on your calendar, you've now got to figure out what you're getting all these people. Oy!

Wouldn't it be nice if you could take the guess work out of what to get this year and for years to come? Well, we've got a solution: Collectibles, or the gifts that keep on giving and the gifts you can keep on giving.

No, we're not talking about coins, stamps or Beanie Babies -- it's the more fashion-focused items we're suggesting. For example, building a charm bracelet. You can start by gifting the actual bracelet and then present charms to attach to it after every major accomplishment or each birthday.

"Personally, I love giving charms and charm bracelets, I think it is really one of the most thoughtful and also practical luxurious gifts to give," jewelry designer Monica Rich Kosann told The Huffington Post. "I wear my charm bracelet everyday and I even started one for both of my daughters. I find charm bracelets are a very empowering piece of jewelry for a woman -- they help her cherish and celebrate all of her milestones in life."

And if you're looking for more stylish collectibles, look no further. We've rounded a few more options you can give today ... and forever.

Artist Karolina Jonderko Wears Her Late Mother's Clothing In Stunning Memorial Photos

"Sunny day, the whole family sits at my grandmother’s garden, sausages on the grill, twittering birds, laughter, conversation. In this dress, my mother would always be smiling, relaxed. She would wear it only on sunny, free-from-work days."

"It was an impulse to put them on. I cannot really rationally explain it," Karolina Jonderko recalled.

The Polish artist is referring to her desire to don her mother's old dresses, four years after she passed away from cancer. "I had an urge to see them again, the colorful patterns that I remembered from my childhood," she said to The Huffington Post. "I wanted to bring the good memories back. And the moment I saw them I simply had to put them on. I felt calm wearing them, I could feel her presence again." Thus, a photo series, entitled "Self-portrait with my Mother," was born.

Jonderko first imagined the project after stumbling across a green jacket belonging to her mother, with strands of her hair still attached. The garment roused memories of their times together, times that stretched back to the days before her illness took hold. Vivid, particular memories of the banal yet critical moments -- fiddling on the piano, addressing her kindergarten class, dancing wildly at family weddings.

home

After her mother passed away in 2008, Jonderko originally donated the clothing to her surviving grandmother, who wore them until her death three years later. Following her grandmother's passing, the artist finally dug through the worn and loved dresses in her now empty, former home, where both she and her mother grew up. It was then that Jonderko allowed precious memories to bubble to the surface.

"You need to know that I was reliving the past and lived in the past for four years after my mother's death in 2008," the artist explained. "Before that day and the images all I could remember was the illness and the pain. Cancer changed her so much and erased all happy memories I had. Those pictures helped me see my mom as she used to be before she got sick, when she was full of laughter and energy."

One outfit Jonherko discovered, for example -- a white sweater and turquoise scarf -- sparked images of time spent at home, her mother doggedly teaching children how to play the piano. "I remember her sitting at the piano, focused, her hand tapping the rhythm, patiently listening to the rattle of her students, and I can still hear her gentle voice: 'Let’s repeat this fragment.' How was she able to listen to that, I do not know, 'til this day. My sister and I would leave the house after few minutes."

hpliday
"It’s summer; the intensively bright sun, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and mom’s voice wakes us up. I have a quick peek through the curtains, a line of washing must have been hung outside early in the morning. It looks completely dry. I cannot see anyone, but I know she’s there. I crane my neck, and I am just able to make out blonde locks and cigarette smoke. The morning 'gossip' with the neighbors is in full swing. Bare-footed and in pajamas, my sister and I jump out on the balcony and join the discussion. We love summer. We have our mom to ourselves for a whole two months of holidays."

Jonderko did not intend to make the photography series public; the moving tribute was meant to be a personal way to grieve and grow. "I didn't expect anybody to understand what I was going through and the reasons behind taking such a project on; hence the photos were never meant to be published." Eventually, however, the photographer shared it with a friend from film school who encouraged her to go public with the project, which is now on view in a Krakow-based exhibition.

After sharing her images, Jonderko was moved by the immense support she received from around the world, a stark change from the isolating experience of grappling with her mother's illness. "I was always hiding what was happening at home to the extent that not that many people actually knew about mum's cancer," she said. "We were alone with our pain. It was going on for so long, too long; so I decided to speak up through my photography, to, in a way, not be alone, to share my grieving with others."

In the end, Jonderko's stirring photographs reveal the many ways of being together, even when the one you're striving to be closer to is physically absent. The series depicts one particular way art can help us heal, providing hope for the many people out there enduring similarly life-rupturing loss.

"Each of us is unique and deals with a loss of a loved one differently. This is my way, perhaps controversial to some, but this is me, recalling and somehow trying to relive all the happy moments I had with my mum. This is me saying goodbye and paying tribute to my mother, the most important woman in my live. There are more other ways. I wanted to share to say that people are not alone with their pain, that there are people going through the same and encourage to look deep inside themselves to find their way of dealing with loss. If I could, anyone can."

Sexist Wet Seal T-Shirt Tells Women They Can't Be Pretty And Smart At The Same Time

Quick reminder: Women can't be beautiful and smart. At least according to this Wet Seal t-shirt.

HuffPost Women reader Misty Russo stumbled upon a (horribly) sexist t-shirt at a Wet Seal store in Sugar Land, Texas on June 2. The shirt reads: "Too pretty to do homework."

Below is the image of the shirt Russo sent to HuffPost Women:

homework

"My initial reaction was that of pure disgust... and disbelief. I immediately thought of a certain young, impressionable 12-year-old girl that I am a role model to, and how I would never allow her or a (future) daughter of mine to wear something like that," Russo told The Huffington Post.

"My second thought was that of young girls around the world like Malala Yousafzai who have risked it all just to have a chance at education," she said, adding, "This type of message scoffs in the face of all the adversity women have faced not only here but internationally when it comes to seeking an education."

According to their website, Wet Seal's mission is to "use the power of fashion and fun to help our girl express her individuality and fit in -- while standing out." The shirt in question implies using intellect is not a way to stand out.

honework wet seal

The shirt is being sold on Wet Seal's website for $19.90.

This particular t-shirt is almost an exact replica of a shirt that caused uproar in 2011. At the time, a photo of a JCPenny shirt that read, "I'm too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me," went viral, and was subsequently pulled from shelves.

Associate professor of sociology at Occidental College, Lisa Wade, told HuffPost in December that these types of messages have a lasting effect on young kids. “They learn their gender identities are very relevant and they learn that there’s a lot of very complicated rules about how to be a girl or a boy, and they’re at that stage of life where they’re trying to learn the rules,” she said.

"Young girls do learn that what they look like is very, very important and that does have impact in what they value and what kind of decisions they make and who they think they are," Wade added. "Little girls are constantly told how pretty they are, and they learn very quickly that being pretty is important." Possibly even more important than being smart.

The Huffington Post reached out to Wet Seal for comment, but did not receive a reply at the time of publication.

How Kork-Ease Evolved From A 'Comfort Shoe' To One Of The Most Stylish Brands Around

$

Kork-Ease sandals have come a long way since their 1953 beginnings. Introduced as a comfort shoe, the brand maintained steady acclaim throughout the '50s, '60s and '70s. For a long while after that, its popularity dwindled.

But now, the shoes are back "in." And with good reason -- to this day, the brand produces shoes cute enough to go out in, and comfortable enough to stay out in, too.

korkease catalog
An image from one of Kork-Ease's original catalogs in the '50s

These shoes have roots in Brooklyn, and even played a role in the disco days of the '70s. According to the brand, its cork wedge "revolutionized the disco-chic look," and could often be found on the dance floor at the famed Studio 54. The line even inspired look-alikes, as most fashionable things do.

"Then suddenly, almost as quickly as the fad emerged, it disappeared," senior vice president of sales and marketing James Rowley explained to The Huffington Post. "Blame it on Disco (God knows there was plenty to blame on Disco), or simply a shift in the fashion scene. One can only speculate.“

With '70s fashion on the rise once again, it's no big surprise that Kork-Ease is staging a comeback along with it. The shoe lends itself well to other trends from the decade that are back again, like culottes, for example.

"We had fun digging through our archives to find many of today’s trends worn accessorized with our original," Rowley said.

Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Open Marriage Rumors, Says She's Not Will Smith's 'Watcher'

$

For years we've heard rumors that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are in an open marriage -- which, hey, whatever works.

But Pinkett Smith stopped by Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Wednesday, where she basically said Smith is free to do what he wants, as long as he can look at himself in the mirror afterwards.

"Here's the deal with that, Howard, you've got to trust who you're with. And at the end of the day, I'm not here to be anybody's watcher," the "Gotham" star told Stern. "I'm not his watcher. He's a grown man. Here's what I trust -- I trust that the man that Will is, is the man of integrity. So, he's got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay, I'm good."

Though Pinkett Smith gave HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill almost the exact same soundbite in April 2013 when asked about the rumors, it does sound pretty reasonable, doesn't it. Trust. Freedom. Integrity. Those are all solid building blocks that would make a lasting relationship, right?

And when Stern asked if Smith is the kind of man who would admit to her if he was attracted to another woman, the actress replied, "Absolutely, you have to in this business, because I’m going to know anyway!”

Back in 2013, there were rumors that Smith was cheating on Pinkett Smith with his "Focus" co-star Margot Robbie, who of course denied the claims. These kinds of stories are part of the territory that come with fame and success, but it can't feel good reading about a spouse's alleged betrayal in the pages of a tabloid.

"Here is what’s real -- I'm not the kind of woman that believes a man is not going to be attracted to other women," she explained. "I'm just not that girl. It's just not realistic. And just because your man is attracted to another woman, does not mean he doesn't love you. That's not what it means. And it doesn't mean he's going to act on it. If your man can't really see another woman's beauty, how the hell is he going to see yours?"

While Pinkett Smith, 43, seems to have a very realistic view on relationships, she also admitted that she thinks the couple, who married at the ages of 25 and 28 in 1997, were "too young" when they tied the knot. "Heck yeah! No, don't do it," she said about telling her kids to wait until they were older to get married. "It did work out, but let me tell you: It worked out in a way that thank God I had a husband who's a gangster partner. Taking that road from 25 to 44."

Betty White has more than 1 million followers on Twitter, and now she's on her way to taking over a different social media platform.

The 93-year-old Hollywood icon posted on Instagram for the first time last night to share her love and appreciation for her "Hot in Cleveland" co-stars. Her sweet message was appropriately timed with the show's series finale.

The caption reads: "For my first Instagram post I wanted to say how much I love these girls dearly. What a great time we had. #HOTFinale #ThanksForTheLaughs"

In less than 24 hours, the beloved actress has racked up more than 4,000 likes on her post. Though she's just getting started on the photo-sharing platform, she already has more than 20,000 followers.

In a tweet announcing her Instagram picture, White asked, "Do you like it?"

Yes, Betty, we do -- just like everything else you do.

Elizabeth Hurley Shares Throwback Photo From The Vegas Stripper Pole

Did Elizabeth Hurley spend her youth working as a stripper, as an Instagram photo she posted this week might suggest?

Uh, no. It doesn't look like it. For anyone thinking that "The Royals" star spent her pre-fame days working the pole in Vegas, pay close attention to how she captioned the snap: "Misspent youth? @ellenvonunwerth #vegas #bestmemories."

The 49-year-old tagged iconic photographer Ellen von Unwerth, which means this is a photo from a professional photo shoot (just to make it clear for anyone who couldn't already tell) unearthed from Hurley's younger days, rather than evidence of a side gig she took on while trying to make it as an actress.

Jennifer Aniston Admits That 'Makeup Is A Pain In The Butt!'

Jennifer Aniston understands that putting on makeup can be a chore.

The award-winning actress got real about self-acceptance as she talked to The Huffington Post about her role in Aveeno's new campaign, Unscripted Beauty, a push that's all about authenticity. So naturally, we asked her about the no-makeup trend.

"I think it's fantastic! Makeup is a pain in the butt!" she said. "I think it’s great that what we have is beautiful."

Aniston remembers the issues she had with her younger self. "When I was younger, I think I took a lot for granted and would beat myself up over things that were unnecessary," she explained.

"Now it's like, whatever state I'm in, whatever shape my body's in [works for me]. I think you just have to really appreciate that this is what's beautiful, this is you!"

While Aniston's beliefs on body positivity are great, we still needed to know the secret to her uber-glowing skin. Here's the lowdown on her everyday look:

"There’s the Aveeno moisturizer that I use called Positively Radiant. And then I usually switch around with makeup. If I'm not working I usually just use a little concealer and I have this little palette from Chanel that's got eyeshadow, rouge and lipstick -- it just has all of it in one. I can just do a little bit of that and some mascara and go!"

Well, if that's good enough for Aniston, that's good enough for us!

A light break from normal habits, with a completely green menu. These recipes are strictly organic, of course, and even better: they're supremely tasty.

Rice Tagliatelle With Vegetables

greenrecipe1
Serves 4 people

200g rice tagliatelle
2 zucchini
200g peas
2 heads bok choy
1 green pepper
2 chopped spring onions
2 tablespoons soy sauce
juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon anchovy paste
½ teaspoon chilli powder
2 tablespoons oil

Prepare the bok choy, cutting away the hard part of the base and slicing the rest into strips; wash well. Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to the boil, turn off the heat and put the tagliatelle into the water. Leave it to soften, not cook, for 3 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water until the tagliatelle is cold. In a bowl mix together the soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, anchovy paste and chilli powder. Prepare and slice the pepper and the zucchini. Heat the oil in a hot frying pan, add the spring onion, and, after 30 seconds, and stirring constantly, the zucchini, peas and pepper. After 2 minutes add the bok choy, the tagliatelle and sweet and sour sauce, stirring well to coat all the ingredients. Serve immediately: garnish with coriander if desired.

Pea, Lettuce And Spring Onion Soup

greenrecipe2
Serves 4 people

500g peas
1 head of lettuce
2 spring onions
1 potato
a small piece of ginger, grated
½ teaspoon curry powder
1 liter vegetable stock
pumpkin seeds
extra virgin olive oil
salt to taste

Carefully wash and separate the lettuce leaves. Peel the potato and cut into cubes. Toast the curry powder and ginger in a pan with some oil. Add the sliced spring onions and the potato and mix well. Add the peas, the lettuce and stock and bring to the boil. Cover, lower the heat and leave to cook for 30 minutes. Salt to taste, then blend to the required consistency. Sprinkle with pumpkin seeds, drizzle with oil and serve warm.

Kiwi, Avocado and Fennel Smoothie

greenrecipe3
Serves 4 people

4 kiwis
1 avocado
1 head of fennel
2 ripe pears
200g natural yoghurt
8 leaves of fresh mint
juice of 2 limes
1 tablespoon honey
Clean and cut the kiwi, fennel and pears into small pieces. Cut the avocado in half, removing the stone and the peel and cut the flesh into cubes. Put everything into a dish and pour over the lime juice. Cover with the honey and garnish with the mint, leave to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. Put the fruit, vegetables and yoghurt into the food processor, blend, adding a little water if necessary, to the required consistency. For an iced dish use frozen fruit.

Note:
Cooking foods can alter their nutritional value and destroy “good” enzymes. A simple, easy way to eat lots of fruit and raw vegetables is by using a juicer or by preparing smoothies. To make a smoothie, blend together fruit and vegetables according to taste, adjusting the consistency by adding water when necessary. Don’t drink it quickly, but take sips to avoid a bloated stomach.
