Talk about disturbing.

Musician Shawn "Clown" Crahan was quite the scary sight at the 56th Grammy Awards at the Staples Center on Sunday (Jan. 26) in Los Angeles, Calif., walking the red carpet with his wife and daughter. Crahan, who is a member of Slipknot, wore a creepy clown mask to music's biggest night, most likely freaking out everyone who caught a glimpse of him.

So of course, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model used the Grammys as an excuse to push the limits of Instagram's nudity policies yet again. Before she was done getting dressed, Chrissy made sure to post these very boob-y Instas:

Nice, Chrissy. We hope this doesn't get you suspended from Instagram like that last semi-nude photo...

Mini Bag or Maxi Bag -- That Is the Question?

$
0
0
The big bag vs small bag debate always raises passionate debates between maximalists and minimalists. I have a friend who swears by her big bags. You'll never catch her lugging anything other than a huge tote that holds her earthly possessions. Even when she occasionally carries an evening bag or a small clutch, she'll make sure her giant tote is waiting safely for her in the car.

I, on the other hand, am a multi-size bag carrier. I have no allegiance to any particular size, shape or color, as long as it fits that day's getup.

That was all before the "mini" trend. You've got to agree that we all have a certain fondness for tiny things - be they mini cupcakes, mini burgers, kittens, or little kid's outfits. The shrunken satchel is one such adorable trend. It comes in colors you wouldn't even consider for their regular size counterparts. It allows you to use your hands freely and is so light you often forget you're wearing it.

A bag tells loads about your style.

A big tote is the epitome of comfort and reliability. It will never let you down. Whatever you need, it's there, acting as a comfort zone for the bearer. But, it's heavy and doesn't necessarily make you look elegant. Plus your chiropractor bills are a high price to pay for the "just in case I may need it" philosophy.

In contrast, the mini bag is the epitome of chic, of freedom. It gives you a discernible sense of ease, an ability to condense, edit, and travel light and says about you that you have self-control and an overarching sense of perfection. It may not fit everything you own, but it does cover the essentials -- cell phone, keys, cards, cash and lipstick. What more does one really need?

I hate to end this debate with a call for diplomacy, but a stylish woman cannot survive her multi-faceted life without owning all sorts of bags. So let's drop the bickering.

Ladies, keep your totes around and add this season's must have, the mini. You'll thank me when you have that spur-of-the-moment business lunch or that sexy after office dinner.

Oh and by the way, the mini fits in the tote... Just in case...

Pregnancy sure looks good on Ciara.

The singer hit the 2014 Grammys red carpet in a glittering gold Emilio Pucci gown that showed her growing baby bump Sunday night (Jan. 26) in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old is expecting her first child with her fiance, rapper Future, and is feeling great.

"I feel really good," she told E! News host Giuliana Rancic. "I feel very comfortable and I like not having to worry ... I ate a club sandwich with French fries before I came. I like not having to worry about eating that. So I feel really good. Let it be. The bigger the belly, the better."

It took three to four fittings to get the dress just right, and the end result was nothing shy of stunning.

Ciara announced her pregnancy earlier this month. She and Future confirmed their engagement in October.

Who doesn't love a good "Hunger Games" reference? Well, apparently songstress and Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles does. On the 2014 Grammy Awards red carpet, the "Brave" singer sported an intricately braided half-up, half-down hairstyle which was inspired by one of our favorite heroines, Katniss Everdeen.

As soon as she turned her head, Twitter was ablaze with tweets loving her style, while others weren't so impressed.

In the self-improvement department, few things feel more indulgent than a facial. During the 30-to-60-minute procedure, your skin will invariably be steam cleaned, sloughed, and slathered with a variety of nutrient-rich masks, serums, and moisturizers. As your complexion reaps the benefits of all that pampering, your mental health will get a boost as well, thanks to a tension-taming combo of soothing scents, soft music, and gentle massage.

Kim Kardashian Talks Getting A Shot In The Eye, Leaks Breast Milk In TMI-Filled 'KUWTK' Episode

Sure, we've all been there ...

The Kardashians aren't shy about sharing personal details about their lives, and on the Jan. 26 episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," we learned just a little too much about Kim Kardashian's sex life with Kanye West. While sitting in her mother's home, the 33-year-old new mom complained to her sister Khloe about how she managed to spray hand sanitizer in her eye, however, Khloe didn't have much sympathy for Kim:

"I opened up a bottle of hand sanitizer, and it squirted right in my eye and burned my eye," Kim told her sister.

"Aren't you used to that? When Kanye ..." Khloe asked, as Kim nodded in reference to a bedroom mishap.

Moments later, the conversation turned to Kim's breast, which was leaking milk, and subsequently horrifying her sister and brother Rob, who was also present for the previous conversation.

“What the f--k? That weirds me out. For real," Rob told Kim, while Khloe compared it to a "water fountain."

For her part, Kim seemed unconcerned with her siblings' comments. “It’s only on one side. Interesting," she said as she investigated the situation.

7 Common Makeup Questions Answered

$
0
0
In reality, I have been a professional makeup artist for the last six years. In my mind, I have been a professional makeup artist since I was four. My love for makeup and fashion came at an early age, and enhancing a woman's natural beauty has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I have done the makeup for editorial shoots, runway shows and countless weddings. I have worked with women (and sometimes men) of all different shapes, sizes and ethnicities. I have noticed a common theme among the types of questions I receive from clients and today I will answer a handful of those questions.

Behold the answer to the top seven questions received from women:

1. How can I do an easy smoky eye? (Actually easy)

There are different types of smoky eyes. The ones that fade light to dark are probably the most difficult to achieve. If you are still a beginner in smoky eyes, using a single base color is the best way to start. A smoky eye can be achieved with any color so pick a solid dark color and cover your entire lid. Next, pick a light beige or cream color and place it right under the brow line. Last, you will need a shade of brown or beige that is one or two tones darker than your skin color. Place this between the brow color and the lid color directly under the brow bone, this will allow for an awesome contoured look. Finally, take your favorite blending brush and blend until you cannot tell when one color starts and the other one ends. You will have a fabulous smoky eye within minutes.

2. How do I blend my blush so it looks natural?

Once you have applied your blush, take any buffer brush (I prefer a thick kabuki brush) and dip it into your powder foundation. Use this brush and dab of powder to buff in your blush. This will allow your blush to easily blend with your makeup while giving you the natural splash of color you are looking for.

3. How can I easily apply liquid eyeliner?

Unless you have the steady hands of a surgeon, do not begin your quest with liquid liner without perfecting gel liner first. Gel gives you the dark sharp lines of a liquid but is more forgiving with errors. Make sure your lid is half open when applying and start off by connecting sort dashes across your lash line to achieve a straight line. Once you are comfortable with gel, the application of liquid liners will come to you easier than you think. The liner below is a look I created with gel liner.

liquid eye liner

4. What is the proper order of applying my makeup?

Always do your eyes first. For many years I put on my foundation first and would end up redoing it because of all the fall from my eye shadow onto my cheeks. Doing your eyes first allows for you to easily wipe away any fall from your eye shadow before you begin your foundation. Lips, of course, are last. This will prevent any smudging that comes from your hands while doing the rest of your make up.

5. How can I make liner in my eyebrows look natural?

Repeat after me: "I will never put black in my eyebrows".

So many women make the mistake of using black liner in their eyebrows which ends up giving them the angry look instead of the fierce one they are probably going for. For a natural filled brow always use powder, and a shade of brown that is one tone lighter than your natural eyebrow color. Make sure to apply with a thin angled brush. This will give you a softer natural look.

6. Do I really need lip liner under my lipstick?

Absolutely not. My favorite part about makeup is that there are no "rules", just guidelines. All the information I am providing you with are things I have learned over the years to make my life easier when applying makeup. Applying lip liner all over your lips before applying your lipstick will allow for your lipstick to stay on longer and give it a little more pop. While it does have its benefits, it is by no means a necessity.

7. What should I use to keep my makeup on longer?

Primer, primer, primer! The most important part of makeup application for my clients is primer under their foundation and under their eye shadow. Primer for makeup works the same way primer does for the walls inside your home. It allows for a base, and because of its consistency makeup naturally wants to stick to it. It also allows for a layer of protection from the makeup to prevent breakouts. Primer will allow you to leave that touchup kit at home because your makeup isn't going anywhere all day.

Dressing Jennifer Lawrence Could Cost Dior $20 Million

Already growing weary of seeing Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior? We regret to inform you there's even more where that came from -- a whole lot more.

Page Six is reporting that Lawrence's agents are discussing a three-year deal with Dior "worth between $15 and $20 million." Lawrence was signed as the face of Miss Dior back in October 2012, after attending that summer's Christian Dior Couture runway show and wearing the brand on the red carpet.

Since then, it's been all Dior, all the time, at every single event. At the 2014 Golden Globes, she even joked to Ryan Seacrest, "I'm wearing Dior. I wanted to surprise, do a shocker." A new partnership would mean even repetitive red carpet appearances and hem Lawrence in, so to speak, by one designer.

Which kind of seems like a shame: Lawrence has such a great presence, personality and sense of style that she could probably do lots of other exciting designers justice.

Ashley Benson Talks Nudity, Drugs & Her Ridiculous 'Pretty Little Liars' Wardrobe In Cosmopolitan

Ashley Benson is Cosmopolitan's March 2014 cover girl and she has no problem revealing exactly what's on her mind.

The 24-year-old is best known for her role as Hannah on the hit show "Pretty Little Liars," but she'd like to make it clear that she's nothing like the teenager she plays on TV.

Benson, who is currently rocking brunette tresses and dyed her hair brown several times this year only to have to dye it back to blond for the ABC Family show, tells the magazine she feels more like herself as a brunette. "As a blonde, I get categorized as the b--chy popular girl for roles, and I just want to be the normal girl."

Benson also says what we've all been thinking when it comes to her show's amazing, yet completely unrealistic, wardrobe choices:

"The thing I always make fun of is the wardrobe," she revealed to Cosmo. "Really, do you think anyone would actually wear full hair and makeup and six-inch heels to school? I was 13 when I was last in school, and I never wore makeup. I wasn't allowed. Now [girls are] all wearing heels and makeup and getting their hair done, so I'm not sure it's us influencing girls or that's just the way it is now."

Benson, who took on a racy role in "Spring Breakers" in 2013, also opened up to the magazine about on-screen nudity, telling the magazine, “I never want to do nudity that’s gratuitous. Girls look so much better in lingerie or a t-shirt and leave the rest up to the imagination. I make it clear that I have a line."

She continued, "Everyone tries to push you, and it’s easy to get talked into doing those things. I’ll just walk off-set. But not everyone realizes they can do that.”

The actress, who is the on-again-off-again girlfriend of Justin Bieber's former swagger coach Ryan Good, also wasn't shy when it came to discussing why she has steered clear of drugs while growing up in Hollywood.

"There are drugs and alcohol in my family on both sides, so I’ve seen lives ruined, going to jail and all that. Once you start with any drug, it can be an addiction -– that’s why I never want to start and am not even tempted, because that chain is relentless," she explained. "And if it runs in your family, you see how unglamorous it is. I would never want to be out of control with my body.”

Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard Call For Boycott Of Magazines That Pay For Photos Of Celebrity Kids

$

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are taking a stand against magazines that pay for paparazzi photos of celebrity children.

On Monday (Jan. 27), Shepard, who welcomed his first child with wife Bell back in March 2013, took to Twitter asking fans to boycott magazines that would shell out cash for photos of his daughter against his wishes.

“Please boycott magazines that run pics of ‘celebrity children.’ They shouldn’t be punished for who their parents are,” Shepard tweeted, adding, "Children shouldn't be stalked. #boycottusweekly #boycottstar #boycottpeople #boycottintouch #boycottboycottboycott"

The couple have yet to release a photo of their nearly one-year-old daughter Lincoln to the public, and called for the boycott after paparazzi photos of their daughter were published for the first time. Bell followed up her husband's tweet on her own account:

Paparazzi photos of celebrity kids have been a contentious issue for years, and here at HuffPost Celebrity we made the editorial decision to only publish photos of celebrity children shared by the parents themselves via social media accounts, or in a context of an official photo shoot done with parental approval.

Things have become so problematic between celebrity parents and the paparazzi that a bill was finally passed in California in September 2013, that "will boost penalties for actions that include taking photos and video of a child without parental consent and in a harassing manner," according to the Associated Press.

Under the new legislation, which took effect this month, violators can face up to a year in county jail and a fine of up to $10,000, with fines increasing for subsequent convictions.

7 Skin Tricks That Will Cost You Nothing

$
0
0
If, like us, you're broke after the holidays but looking for a good skin pick-me-up, fear not -- there's plenty you can do with absolutely zero cash. So stop dreaming of pricey products and save your money for more important things... like clothes.

1. Drink water... lots and lots of water. We've all heard the argument that skin is an organ made up of cells, which are composed of water. Therefore, the more water you drink, the better... right? Kind of.

The whole eight-glasses-a-day theory has been debunked, but studies have shown that drinking water improves circulation. While this doesn't necessarily guarantee wrinkle prevention, dermatologist Dr. Margaret E. Parsons told the New York Times that "if dehydrated, fine wrinkles certainly seem to show up a bit more." She added, "Staying appropriately hydrated is good for our general health, and if we are eating and drinking what we should, our bodies are healthier and therefore our skin as well."

Also, it's important that you don't chug all of your daily water intake in one sitting. A 2005 study showed that those who consumed large amounts of water in less than 15 minutes simply urinated most of it out, while those who sipped water retained more of it. Moral of the story: Spend your days leisurely sipping water and you could reap the health -- and skin -- benefits

water

2. Get at least seven hours of sleep each night. Yes, there really is something to the whole "beauty sleep" concept. According to the Mayo Clinic, adults need between seven and eight hours of sleep each night. While you'll certainly feel less glowing if you sleep less, a 2013 study commissioned by Estée Lauder showed that missing out on precious hours of shut-eye actually increases your chances of fine lines, uneven skin tone and reduced elasticity. The same study also showed that poor sleepers suffer from dehydrated skin and slower recovery from sunburn.

In a different study, Swedish researcher John Axelsson and his team found that lack of sleep can make one appear less healthy, more tired and less attractive. "Sleep is the body's natural beauty treatment," Axelsson said. "It's probably more effective than any other treatment you could buy." So stop making excuses and get some shut-eye!

3. Reduce your sun exposure. By now, this should be drilled into your head, but it's easy to let those preventative measures fall by the wayside. Yes, you do need vitamin D, but too much sun exposure can lead to sunburn, skin cancer and premature aging. The United States Environmental Protection Agency notes that "up to 90 percent of the visible skin changes commonly attributed to aging are caused by the sun." Translation: Some of those wrinkles are avoidable.

If you're heading out for a day in the sun, wear a hat or sunglasses and try to limit your time in the sun between 10am and 2pm, when ultraviolet radiation peaks. Oh, and don't forget to apply SPF every single day.

hat

4. Cut down on sugary foods. When you eat sugar or high-glycemic foods, your insulin levels spike, leading to what Dr. Nicholas Perricone describes as "a burst of inflammation throughout the body." This causes collagen and elastin to break down, which manifests as sagging skin and wrinkles. Through a process known as glycation, sugar can also permanently attach to collagen in your skin, exacerbating skin conditions like acne and rosacea.

Instead of opting for high-glycemic foods with simple sugars, like white bread and candy, choose foods that are low-glycemic, like brown rice and vegetables. And load up on healthy fats, like olive oil and avocados, to keep your skin looking soft, supple and radiant.

5. Pat down -- don't wipe -- your body after a shower. It might be hard to do, but resist the urge to vigorously wipe down your cold body after a hot shower. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, those with dry skin can make matters worse if they wipe away the skin's natural oils after a shower. Instead, the AAD recommends that you gently "blot your skin" with your towel to avoid dry skin.

Be especially mindful of this during the winter months, when the air itself is dryer and your skin is more likely to itch, flake and crack. It's also helpful to limit your shower time to 10 minutes and use warm, rather than steaming hot, water.

towel

6. Don't pop your zits. Ever. This is a case where inaction is the best course of action. While it's certainly tempting to pop that new pimple, it can actually make things worse, leaving you with scarring or even a skin infection. Yes, really -- that popping action actually rips your skin and introduces dirt and bacteria into your pimple.

If you do need to extract, leave it to the pros. The extraction technique used by dermatologists, which involves sterile equipment and specific amounts of pressure, is a safer route.

7. Remember to smile. A 2011 study found that smiling can actually make you appear younger. When researchers presented photos of people smiling, a group of participants guessed that those people were younger than when a second group of participants were shown photos of the same people with neutral expressions or frowns. So if you want a youthful glow, just find something to be happy about. Or at the very least, fake it until you make it.

This True Love Tester Bra Is One Step Away From A Chastity Belt

$
0
0
In the market for a high-tech chastity belt for your chest? Look no further than the, True Love Tester Bra, brought to you by Japanese lingerie company Ravijour.

The high-tech undergarment, which is being marketed as a way to "save women" from unwanted sexual advances, can supposedly sense when a woman's emotional state becomes truly amorous, and then -- and only then -- will the clasp of the bra automatically unlock. If love isn't in the cards, we guess you're just forced to wear it forever?

According to a video promo for the True Love Tester, the smart bra contains a hidden sensor, which is synced up via Bluetooth to an app on the owner's phone. The app analyzes heart rate, and when the wearer's heart rate hits a specified point, the bra unhooks on its own. (The "true love" zone is indicated in the chart below, though we remain seriously unconvinced as to its scientific accuracy.)

true love chart

Beyond the fact that we seriously doubt that the bra can "know how women truly feel," as its advertisement claims, the idea behind the undergarment, which was (surprise, surprise) created by two men, ignores some basic truths about women -- and about sex. First of all, a high-tech bra will never "save" a woman from sexual harassment. Just because one's brassiere isn't being ripped off by an aggressive gentleman, doesn't mean that the wearer isn't experiencing a barrage of other forms of unwanted sexual attention before an evening gets to that point. The "savior" nature of the True Love Tester bra is misguided in the same way that AR Wear's anti-rape underwear was, back in November.

Plus, there are many, many reasons that a woman might want to have sex (or simply take off her bra) that have nothing to do with love, true or otherwise. (Lily of "How I Met Your Mother," actually managed to come up with 49.)

So, marketers, please take note: Women simply don't need sexual protection in the form of chastity-belt-like undergarments. We'll take off our bras when we want to.

Planning, Prepping and Throwing Your Ultimate Super Bowl Party

$
0
0
Super Bowl Sunday is a tradition for football fans. But it's also a tradition to host parties and events. Doesn't matter where you host your party -- you can put a stylish spin on the experience. Here's how:

1. Set the food menu. The classic football party is low-key and packed with easy, casual foods that can go from the serving table to living room easily -- pizza, burgers, etc. and of course plenty of chips, dips and salsas. But just because there it's a sports event doesn't mean you can't have a little fun with the food. You'll still want things to be easy to grab and eat (munchies, etc.) but having a sandwich bar with different meats and ingredients, or serving something like pasta or lasagna can be just as much a hit as the classic game day food items. Chips are fine but mix up the experience with interesting and unexpected items -- melted goat cheese or brie, crackers and cheese, etc. Don't forget specialty eaters and diets with a few foods and snacks that are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or other diet-friendly specialty.

2. Assess the space you'll be using. Since the game is the center point and few would want to park at a dinner table during the broadcast, a serving table of sorts or buffet are a better option. Load the kitchen table, island or bar with the day's eats and treats, or if you need to bring in a serving table you can. Having plenty of seating is important -- if your living room is lacking space, oversized pillows and kitchen or dining room chairs can add seating without the hassle. If guests will be bringing kids, you'll want to consider having some games or coloring books on hand, or ask that they may pack a bag for their little ones if you do not have children of your own.

3. Mix the drinks. Beer, wine and other drinks are usually on hand at parties, but don't be afraid to have a fun 'signature' game day drink item such as a special mix lemonade, tea or other beverage. Be sure to stock plenty of bottled water, soda and juice as well. Put items in large tubs with ice in the garage, or bring in coolers filled with various options and place them in a kitchen or laundry room for easy access during the game. Don't forget glasses or cups! While paper and plastic are common, make things a little fancier with glasses from your collection at the house.

4. Don't forget sweets and other treats! Brownies, cake, cupcakes, cookies and other easy-to-eat items are a game-day essential. If you've got time, a local bakery will likely be happy to decorate cakes and cupcakes in your favorite team's logos or colors. You can do the same at home with anything you bake or create and serve.

5. Decorate! It doesn't have to be elaborate or overly fancy, but adding a floral arrangement in your favorite team's colors, streamers, ribbon or other decorative items that celebrate the game will make the party feel all the more unique and fun.

Set up an hour or two in advance to make sure that you have everything you need. Designate an area in the house for coats and jackets, and if it's wet, snowy or slushy outside, designate a place for guest shoes so that you're not tracking mud and other elements into your house. Throughout the game, routinely pick up and clean up -- it'll make things a lot easier than waiting until the end. Last, grab small food-ready boxes or other containers to give guests the option to take leftovers from the day home. It can be a fun way to share the treats of the day and make clean up easy as you'll have likely done away with any leftover or extra food items.
