Manolo Blahnik is well known (thanks to chic styles, and "Sex and the City") for designing stylish shoes. Now, in a natural progression, the house has launched a new capsule collection of clutch bags that match the striking embellishments of their footwear counterparts. The six styles in come in gem-like hues of crepe de chine and satin because, as Blahnik says, "every woman needs a jewel."

Kourtney Kardashian's latest Instagram post could've been a page out of Kim Kardashian's Selfish

The 36-year-old mother of three posed for a selfie while lounging in a black bikini and oversized sunglasses Thursday afternoon. Apparently, Kylie Jenner was the one who posted the snapshot to Instagram for her big sis.

"@kyliejenner taking over my Instagram feed," she wrote.

Senior Citizen Swimsuit Show Proves Age Is Just A Number

Across the globe in Tianjin, China, a group of models strutted their stuff in swimsuits at a fashion show on July 23.  The only thing a little different than your typical bikini runway? Most of the models were senior citizens.

Shanghaiist reports the fashion show was held by a senior citizen's community group and the Hetong Charitable Foundation for the Elderly "to provide a platform for China's over-60s to express themselves, promoting a healthy and positive lifestyle." The eldest model to participate was 78.

An employee at the Hetong Charitable Foundation told The Huffington Post the average age of the models was around 60, with participants as young as their 40s and 50s. People's Daily Online reported around 100 people participated in the show.

"Who said we are too old for bikinis?" a 68-year-old woman asked Shanghiist while pointing at her exposed stomach. Not us, that's for sure!

Kylie Jenner's 18th Birthday Means More NSFW Photos Are Coming

Kylie Kristen Jenner, recent high school graduate, home-owner, reality star and Snapchat queen, turns 18 on Aug. 10.

It's a birthday that's been a longtime coming for a girl whose has been in a rush to grow up, and it has some people feeling a little uneasy -- like her older sister Kendall, who posted this NSFWish photo to Instagram on Friday that she captioned, "weekend vibes #KyliesTurning18ImScared."

We're guessing that Kendall is anticipating that as soon as Kylie turns 18 all those NSFWish photos will soon become just NSFW ones. It's a family tradition, after all.

It looks like Kylie will be celebrating her birthday for more than a week, since the festivities have apparently just begun and she's scheduled to celebrate with a party at Beachclub in Pointe-Calumet, Quebec,  on Aug. 16, where the legal drinking age is, you guessed it, 18.

Online Retailer Advertises Plus-Size Leggings In A Truly Awful Way

No, no, no, no, no.

Shopping is a daunting experience. Shopping for plus-size clothing can be even more so. When a retailer screws up and say, unfortunately mislabels a product, it's downright exhausting.

Herry He's Store, a China-based retailer sold on Aliexpress.com, is the most recent offender. Instead of making what might have been the obvious choice (using a model that actually fits into the leggings), instead, the store had a thin woman squeeze both her legs into one pant leg. Yes, really.

As Mic writer Michelle Garcia pointed out, it's not as if the brand didn't have access to a larger model. Additional photos show the pants displayed on a person that appears to wear one leg on each side. "It wasn't enough to just show this larger model wearing these pants?" she asked.

The photos not only misrepresent what the product would actually look like on someone if they purchased them, but they are a pretty lousy sales tactic, too. We're not sure who would jump on the opportunity to buy a pair of leggings that is basically saying: check out this skinny woman who could wear one half of your pants on both legs!

The Huffington Post reached out to Herry He's Store for comment and did not hear back by the time of publication.

Fashion As Activism : The Jidenna Story

$

0
2015-08-06-1438892764-7007061-78A2207.jpg

If fashion is a language, then Jidenna is its namesake.

In a world where designer clothing reigns supreme and labels create hierarchy, Wonderland Records' newest addition, Jidenna, has reincarnated the meaning of what fashion is supposed to be -- a form of nonverbal expressionism.

Fashion, itself, has served more as a fence that a bridge between cultures since the development of modern textiles millions of years ago. From a representation of religion to an indication of gender, fashion has been the sorting hat of all eras and social classes: if someone wears a dress, you assume they are female. if the dress comes from a well known designer, it is implied that the person has some form of wealth.

But Jidenna, although making it big after his first single "Classic Man" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, is stirring up more conversation for his style of clothing than his infectious beats.

Defined as a "modern day Willie Wonka" with a style that USA Today classified as "street elegance" Jidenna is giving substance to one of the most recognized items of clothing: a suit.

Having graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, interning at the Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute, and becoming a member of the Cum Laude Society in Milton Academy's 2003 graduating class, Jidenna knows a thing or two about racial politics. Before his career began to take off, he spent years working the Mural Music and Arts Project, a California based organized dedicated to educating and empowering youth through art and music.

Most commonly associated with the world of business, Jidenna has cultivated the suit, (the-three piece suit to be exact) into a statement that illustrates the effects of the people and time that came before him in the society we currently live in.

At a quick glance, Jidenna's style might seem irreplaceable. It is made up of bespoke tailoring. But for him, it's all about what is conveyed from his clothing than the clothing itself .

As hip-hop might home gold watches and chains as form of wealth and luxury, Jidenna has revolutionized the custom made suit into an indicator of a different form of wealth - protest. There is a form of power in standing up for you believe in, and contrary to the activism we see on our streets, television screens, and Twitter streams today, Jidenna has achieved this in a different kind of way -- clothing.

With style mixed with influence from men like Andre 3000 and Malcolm X, and the freedmen from the Antebellum South period from 1865 through 1965, Jidenna birthed a style that both honors and acknowledges the old Jim Crow Era, but is ultimately pushing away from it in this new era of Jim Crow politics.

Think of it as a visual representation of the African diaspora - the times have changed but the black man's story hasn't. When referring to his style in an interview with Vibe.com, Jidenna stated," I do believe that in the Jim Crow era, there was a special dignity that came after the abolishing of slavery. And I wanted to represent that for the millennial generation..."

While every black man might live his own experience, the roots of that experience are tied back to a globally conceptualized representation of Black identity. And through Jidenna's bespoke suits, he's quietly going against that.

Some Enchanted Evening: New York City's Le Dîner en Blanc

Once upon a time, François Pasquier decided to throw a dinner party for his friends in Paris after having spent some years abroad. So many people responded that he asked them to congregate at the Bois de Boulogne dressed all in white so they could more easily locate one another. Thus began Le Dîner en Blanc ("the dinner in white") 27 years ago, eventually becoming a worldwide phenomenon that takes place globally in 60 cities, with 100 more currently on the waiting list to join in.

Le Dîner en Blanc is the world's largest viral event, a delicious hybrid of picnic and pop-up mystery tour. New York City joined the list of cities in 2011. The dinner, famously, keeps its actual location a secret until literally one hour before it begins. As if under a spell of enchantment, thousands of attendees make their way to the site, which is always an iconic urban setting (in past years the Dînerwas held at Bryant Park, Lincoln Center, and Battery Park). Those lucky enough to attend (there is a waiting list of some 35,000) set up folding tables and white chairs and unpack their gourmet picnic baskets to make ready for a lovely, surreal night in another world.

The guests (who apply by lottery) are required to dress in white and bring white dinnerware and proper stemware along with their viands. They must also pack up their things and buss their own tables at the end of the night, post dinner and dancing, leaving no trace. The fashions range from elegant to stunning; the table settings are more often than not gorgeous and creative. It's as if a magical small city appeared for just a few hours starting pre-twilight and ending after sunset paints the summer sky.

This year's New York event on Tuesday July 28th was attended by a record five thousand people on Hudson River Park's Pier 26. Even though the end of July delivered a very hot and humid night, it was breezy and magical on the pier. It has to be said that dressing in white also helped to temper the weather somewhat for the better. Enchantment is the word that came immediately to mind as I gazed in awe at the rows and rows of white tables, white outfits, white hats and headdresses, and gently bobbing white balloons.

I spoke with co-founders Aymeric Pasquier and Sandy Safi about the work that goes into an event of this magnitude. Now that there are 60 locations worldwide, "they're all simultaneous on top of each other," laughed Sandy. "We grew to 60 in a matter of 3 years. Most of it was due to having launched it here in New York." She confirmed that a large part of the growth was due to social media: "a lot of organic growth, people saying, 'Wow this is amazing' and then contacting us saying, 'How can I do it in Korea? Or Brazil?'" In fact, she pointed out, a team from both countries was in attendance this year to see it in person.

Four time James Beard Award winner and renowned restaurateur, author, and television personality Chef Todd English had returned for the second year (by popular demand) to curate special dinners for guests who order meals through Le Dîner en Blanc rather than bring their own. I asked him what dish he'd be eating if he wasn't working. "Every one of them!" he exclaimed with a big smile. "I prepare this like I would prepare it for myself."

This year's Le Dîner en Blanc was sponsored by Apothic® White, Perrier-Jouët, and Celebrity Cruises. I asked Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo how her company became involved with Le Dîner en Blanc. "We made a commitment this year that we were going to look for new and unique opportunities that we felt truly encapsulated what Celebrity is all about, which is modern luxury, hip, fun, young, and we felt that Le Dîner en Blanc was a great partner to get that word out in a bigger way than we've been able to up until now. We feel very special, because Le Dîner en Blanc is very selective about who they partner with, so I think that they feel as strongly about the partnership as we do. We're very excited about it."

In Sandy Safic's words, "I think Le Dîner en Blanc brings people together. It's very easy for people to come together, enjoy a picnic in the park. That's basically what it is. It's just in a beautiful setting, specifically selected, with entertainment. In the end, the essence of it is a picnic in a park. It's just one big picnic." A picnic, yes, that recalls the exquisite magnificence of an earlier, enchanted, time.

Can't Control the Weather - A Few Pointers to Keep Those Lo cks Looking Great on the Road

$
0
0
I did a column here last week about keeping our hair looking great in high humidity. We run into that 'wall of water' when we land in Miami, for example, or New York City in August ... "Oh, man!" Hot and wet!

Part of the solution is that you just have to surrender some of that control. It is so difficult to keep the look you created in L.A. when you step off the plane in Atlanta. Depending on our natural hair, it can go flat and limp or wildly curly and frizzy.

Still, "be prepared," pack your hair tools, favorite products and hair accessories along with a healthy dose of flexibility.

I recently traveled and forgot my conditioner and thought, "no big deal. How bad could hotel products be?" Well, they can be harsh on hair and, "yes," they smell absolutely delicious and they suds-up like none other but be careful. Sometimes products with suds use a lot of sulfates, which can be hard on hair, especially if your hair has been chemically treated for a perm or coloring.

• My suggestion is to take travel-size products with you from home. Go to your favorite drug store and buy the small, plastic, airplane-approved, 3.4 oz. bottles and put your trusted products in them.

• When you head for another city, always pack a selection of hair accessories, including barrettes, which are trending strong, and ponytail holds and favorite hair clips. These are incredibly useful in taming hair when you've already tried hair mousse and gels. The variety of styles and availability is better than ever. Ponytails, buns and other updos work in virtually every environment from the boardroom to the gym. When you hit that wave of high humidity, a ponytail is a great way to go in a slick-back wet look.

• Humidity and free bath samples aren't the only risks when traveling. Water is different everywhere. Some is soft and some is hard with lots of minerals. Those minerals can leave deposits on your hair, changing the texture or feel. Using your quality products from home can help this a lot. When you get home, detox your hair, wash it with a clarifying shampoo or a mix of baking soda and water. This will strip the hair of mineral build-up. Then apply a deep, penetrating mask or deep conditioner and let it sit on your hair for a good amount of time ... Your hair will love you for it!

Remember, you can't beat the weather, and you don't pick the water coming out of the shower, so be flexible and patient out of town.

As always, be open to change!

Rihanna Queen of Crop Over

2015-08-06-1438904854-1127451-rhiannacropover5.jpg

Crop Over was this past weekend, which to this Trini is Barbados' version of Carnival; to me that translates to great fetes (parties), good food, drinks, music, liming (hanging out), costumes, glitter, and unadulterated fun. I have never been to Crop Over although I have always wanted to check out the Bajan version of the festival, experience how the Bajans does fete and ting, how they get down. I mean, really experience a part of their culture. In the recent years, I have noticed that a few popular Trini parties have expanded their brand not just to Barbados, but to Jamaica, Canada, and Miami, and this coming together for the sake of carnival in different countries really warms my little heart. People coming together in love and unity for any purpose, even if it's to party, lifts my spirit, both inside the Caribbean or the wider world; but when I see it happening in the Caribbean, it makes me especially proud as I am from there.

2015-08-06-1438904954-2823207-rhiannacropover4.JPG

Rihanna of course was the star of Crop Over, and she never disappoints. Her costume from the carnival band Zulu International was gorgeous. But it is not just Rihanna's costume or celebrity that makes her a star in my eyes. It's her love of life and her love of family and friends, her ability to live her life by her rules and no one else's that makes her a Caribbean Girl and as captioned in the above pic: a Black Girl to be proud of. The way she interacts with her fans and people on the whole is to be commended.

But can we talk about that caption for a minute? "Black iz Beautiful", that she identifies as black and does not go out of her way to say she is mixed, or her family has some kind of European heritage in the family tree; that she doesn't play up her eye color or skin shade to identify and signify being a red woman is very powerful and endearing. As I casually scrolled down Instagram whizzing by all the pics, I instantly stopped when I saw that pic and its caption. I sat there for a long time just staring at the pic: at the joy, exuberance, beauty, confidence, fierceness, and friendship that the pic depicted. And then for her to claim her blackness unabashedly when this world teaches us to be ashamed of our melanin is astounding.

I may not have always been her biggest fan; I may have and I am embarrassed to admit this, judged her as "oh she is too vulgar," "oh, she is looking for attention with all that nakedness." And I am embarrassed to have judged her and others when we all have our struggles and trials, and we all make our mistakes and we all don't think the same way. Isn't it a much better option to love and try to understand another than to stand in judgement and disapproval? We don't like it when we are judged, but we do it all the time. I know they say it's human nature, but I think it may actually be learned behavior. I say this because when I observe little children or babies, all I see when they see other children is a sense of wonder and curiosity--not judgment. They want to touch, see, taste the new object or person, to understand it.

Moreover, as I read some of the comments under Crop Over pictures on Instagram, most were positive, but you know, there are always the few that spew hate. I read one that called her whore and made fun of her beautiful distinct accent, and I thought myself, really? All I got from her pics were beauty, and happy, fun times, but I think that's where the cultural divide appears because although I had been guilty of judging her in the past for her very revealing outfits, it was not based on her carnival apparel. Rather, I was judging her club outfits or awards outfits. Having been a masquerader in my home country and Miami, and a longtime observant of the subtle particulars of mas design in women's costumes, I was enamored with Rihanna's costume. I loved how the jewels gleamed in the sunlight and the unique color combo employed. She looked great and stunning in all her regalia. How someone got whore from that confused me.

Now, that is not to say that I have never seen a costume and said to myself "but where is the rest of that costume", or "that is not a costume, it's strings she is wearing" because I have; however, I did not get that at all from Rihanna's attire. As I pondered about it more, I understood that to someone looking in and not having grown up with the culture of carnival that her dancing and strutting with confidence in her body and self may be perceived differently. But for those of us that grew up with the culture, carnival is the time of year where good girls could be bad and not be judged or stigmatized as a result of said behavior. It's the time of year that you can let loose and dress up and glitter up and have a blast; it does not make us whores.

In many societies in the Caribbean, where the colonial way of thinking still strongly lingers, and everyone is watching what everyone else is doing and talking about it, women are told they should behave in a particular manner from early on (this societal watching has both good and bad benefits but will be addressed further at a later date). So, yes, you want to make sure you make your parents proud and not give anyone anything to run back and talk about. Carnival is our freedom from that. Do I always care for some of the vulgar dancing, myself? No. But do I label a person a whore because of it? Also, no. The furthest I might go with judginess is to say that they crave attention (which in itself is wrong, and I am getting much better at not doing this. However, it takes a lot of practice), but most times I think, wow she's having a frolicking good time.

I cannot close this article without addressing the body shaming comments being flung at Rihanna. I have read everything from she is fat and looks like a fridge, too she looks bad bodied. Although we all have our own perceptions of what beauty is, to subject others to our sometimes unrealistic standards is disheartening to say the least. Again, beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, but really by any standards, she looked absolutely divine.

2015-08-06-1438905022-7234711-rhiannacropover1.jpg

My point is I rate Rihanna, so BIG UP YOURSELF!!!! YUH LARGE GYUL!!! Caribbean girl to Caribbean girl, black girl to black girl, woman to woman, person to person, global citizen to global citizen, human to human, I admire her style and grace to be herself under pressure, to be herself with the whole world watching her, to live and enjoy life on her terms which speaks to her strength. I think we all could learn a thing or two from Rihanna, beyond what it takes to be a Caribbean girl, but also as a human being, and what it means to embrace what we all have in common--being human, because you see at the end of it all, we have more in common than we do in our differences.

Finishing Summer In Style

$
0
0
There's less than a month left to the summer season, with a long, luxurious holiday weekend to finish Summer 2015 in style. It's the last chance to get in a few more fun summer parties, BBQs, and events before the weather starts to turn and fall arrives. Whether you're hosting a get-together, or just having dinner on the back deck, here are a few ideas.

There's so much more access to interesting food items than ever before. Stores like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, online shops, and then of course the boom in Farmer's Markets and other food shopping sources are putting more unique treats in our hands than ever. Update the vegetable plate by doing something a little unexpected -- instead of the usual carrots, celery and other favorites, try thin sliced fresh fennel, fresh beets in any color, turnips and other unexpected vegetables. It's just as tasty and puts a different spin on this common summertime snacking item. You can also get creative with meals this time of year -- a burger bar with a variety of burger types including vegetarian, buns, and toppings can be easy, creative and fun. We love the amazing frozen flatbreads from American Flatbread tossed onto the grill for a simple, decadent way to dine in style this summer.

Drinks are also getting so creative. The explosion of new wines and other spirits has made summer events and parties all the more special. Aperitif is a popular item that's turning up before dinners around the country. Drop a little fruit or mint in a glass and serve to guests. Jardesca Aperitiva on ice was a favorite here all summer long. For mixed drinks, craft cocktails continue to be the trend. Artisan spirits bring a unique element in. Spirit Works has a chic range in gorgeous bottles. Put out a simple bar tray or cart on the patio with mixers, topping and other elements for guests to mix their own.

When it comes to decor, you can make even the most simple of dinner special -- just add some large candles, pretty napkins, and enjoy the last remaining days of summer!

Ireland Baldwin, the impossibly beautiful daughter of actors Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, already has a head start on the rest of us plebeians. So when she decides to pull a Beyoncé, you just know she's going to do it better than most.

Indeed, when Ireland Baldwin "wakes up like this," it's topless on a beach in short shorts, with a Hello Kitty sleep mask and a surfboard. (Surfbort?)

Miley Cyrus Calls Out Industry Sexism, Big Bucks And Taylor Swift

Miley Cyrus is Marie Claire's September cover girl and, in typical Miley fashion, is holding nothing back in the accompanying interview.

The 22-year-old singer and activist channels Twiggy on the gorgeous cover and inside, opens up about sexism in Hollywood and the music industry. "There is so much sexism, ageism, you name it," Cyrus tells Marie Claire. "Kendrick Lamar sings about LSD and he's cool. I do it and I'm a druggie whore."

Cyrus, who's slated to host the VMAs later this month, also touches on the issue of dough, calling out the rich and famous for being, well, so rich and famous.

"People in this industry think, I just gotta keep getting more money, and I'm like, What are you getting more money for? You probably couldn't even spend it all in thislifetime," she says. "People get more famous, so that they can make their brand more famous, so that they can sell more shit, so that they can make more money. It's a never-ending cycle."

"Getting more money, having more hits, being the lead in the movie -- those things might stimulate you, but they don't make you happy. I've experienced it all already, and I'm telling you firsthand, it doesn't," she adds.

Elsewhere in the interview, Cyrus takes on fellow songstress Taylor Swift and calls out the hypocrisy in treating Swift like a role model.

"I don't get the violence revenge thing," Cyrus says about Swift's "Bad Blood" video. "That's supposed to be a good example? And I'm a bad role model because I'm running around with my titties out? I'm not sure how titties are worse than guns."

Andrea Fascinetto -- Successful By Design

I recently sat down with a relatively new fashion designer in NYC who is quickly making a name for herself. She is Mexican born and Paris educated, Andrea Fascinetto, and with the release of her first collection, Minuit Bleu, in February, she has already gained the attention of fashion score keepers like Saks Fifth Avenue and Vanity Fair Magazine. How does a twenty-something fashion designer from Mexico enter the New York fashion scene and immediately gain traction? You are about to find out. It certainly hasn't been easy, but Andrea is successful by design. Here are her five simple secrets for achieving big dreams in the highly competitive business of fashion.

Absolute Confidence: Andrea studied fine art and photography before finding her passion for fashion. She went on to apply for a seat at one of the most prestigious fashion schools in the world, Parsons Paris. Her chances of being admitted into their program were slim because competition is always heavy and Andrea, at that time, didn't yet even know how to sew. How did she win her seat? Andrea says that it was all about confidence. She showed up at her interview 100% confident that she would get accepted. The confidence came out when she described what she was going to do in the fashion world. She had been making beautiful art her entire life, she explained to the school, and the only thing that was different about fashion was that the canvas was a human being. Andrea was admitted into the program. She was one of about 40 students. She immediately bought a sewing machine and learned to sew. Despite having not been trained in fashion up until that point, Andrea was one of roughly 6 students who completed the arduous program. Her confidence would soon come into play again. In November of 2014, Andrea was offered a dream job with a massive, publicly traded, fashion house. Absolutely confident that she could break into the fashion scene on her own, Andrea turned down the job and launched Andrea Fascinetto, her own fashion line.

Tell A Story: The way Andrea Fascinetto sees it, success in business and life comes down to your ability to tell a great story. She says that you have to give people something to believe in. You have to paint a picture for them. It's much easier for people to buy into your dream when they understand the story. Andrea launched her first clothing line, Minuit Bleu, in February of 2015 and she designed the entire line around a story. The story had many components. First, her line incorporated the Nike of Samothrace, which is a 2nd century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike. The sculpture is one of the most celebrated in the world, and has been displayed at the Louvre since 1884. The work is notable for its rendering of a pose where violent motion and sudden stillness meet, creating balance. You can see Fascinetto's interpretation of this in her line which features contrasting hues from silvers to pure black, representing the idea of perspectives and looking at things from every angle. Secondly, Minuit Bleu, is the story of ending romances. The line represents the contrast of falling in love and then falling apart. Fascinetto's fashion show where she released this line featured sultry jazz musician, Katrina Cunningham, whose music was the perfect backdrop for a show that featured such contrasting artistic concepts. Fascinetto's fashion line was well received by the industry, which furthers her belief that when people believe in the story, they believe in you.

My Dream or Yours?: One of the best parts of Andrea's story is that she turned down a dream job with a massively successful fashion house. I wondered why she wouldn't have at least tried that position before going after her big dream of launching her own fashion line. Andrea explained that working at the larger, established firm would have been amazing, admittedly a dream come true. She said that it was when she was talking to the head of menswear that she knew she couldn't take the job. He was explaining to Andrea how well the company takes care of their people. He said that working there was like working with family and that many have been with the company for decades. Andrea said that it all sounded amazing, but she knew then and there that if she accepted that job, she would never want to leave it. To her, choosing that position would mean sacrificing her dream. Admittedly, launching her own fashion line right out of the gate would be hard, but she knew in her heart that she needed to go after her own dream, not someone else's.

Surround Yourself With Undying Advocates: Andrea says that the real secret to her early success in the fashion industry is that she has surrounded herself with people who are her undying advocates. They believe in her 100%. For example, Andrea, an only child, says that she is blessed to have parents who have never once doubted her ability to make a name for herself as an artist. They have supported her creative license ever since she was a little girl. Whether it be painting, photography, or fashion, Andrea's parents have her back in whatever she's doing. As well, her business partner, Eric Geiger, dropped what he was doing and moved to NYC from Paris to help her launch the business. Even her publicist, Felicia Quaning, started promoting Andrea and the new line even when all she had to show for her idea was a sketch. Andrea says that when you are launching anything that is new, you need people who trust you so much that they will take a leap of faith and believe in you. Andrea's entire network is made up of such people. They trusted her vision, and in true Andrea Fascinetto fashion, she pulled it off with her first clothing line, Minuit Bleu.

Compare Yourself to Nobody: I asked Andrea which fashion designer she compares herself to. "Really, nobody," she explained. Andrea says that she doesn't spend a lot of time studying other designers because the little time she does have is spent on her own designs. She said that she has gained inspiration from people like her uncle, an architect, who taught Andrea long ago that it was ok to be very bold in art. He would tell her to never second guess her strokes when painting, to be bold, and to worry little about mistakes. Andrea says that all of those little insights from her uncle growing up have come through in her fashion work, but as for comparing herself to other designers, she's not even interested in trying. Andrea says, "I am bold. I am not afraid to make mistakes. I am one of kind when it comes to my designs."

Smart, confident, bold, driven, and ambitious beyond words, Andrea Fascinetto is making a name for herself in the world of fashion, and it hasn't even been a year since she walked away from that dream job job! This designer is going places because she is successful by design.

Kim Kardashian isn't one to shy away from a racy Instagram pic, but she may have outdone herself with this one.

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star just reached 42 million followers on Instagram and as her way of celebrating, she shared a photo of her cleavage black tank top. Oh, and her glossed lips.

The 34-year-old expectant mother captioned the pic simply, "42 mil."

What better way to thank your followers than with a sexy selfie? Typical Kim.

The photo comes just after Kim's selfie with "our next President," Hillary Clinton. The reality star met Clinton at a fundraiser Thursday hosted by Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun.

I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident

Kylie Jenner Shares Warning Photo Ahead Of 18th Birthday

Kylie Jenner turns 18 on Monday. And with less than 24 hours to go until her birthday, the reality star and Snapchat queen posted what we're interpreting as some sort of warning shot in the form of an Instagram photo.

"The calm before the storm, " she captioned a snapshot of one of the rooms inside the  $2.7 million house she purchased earlier this year.

It's this kind of attitude that has her older sister Kendall feeling a bit uneasy about Kylie's big day. On Friday, the 19-year-old model shared a NSFW photo of someone face down in the back seat of a car, along with the caption, "weekend vibes #KyliesTurning18ImScared."

If the sisters' photos are linked in any way, well, get ready world, 'cause Kylie Jenner already warned you.
