Why Janet Jackson's Nipple Still Matters

$
0
0
It's been 10 years since Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" during the Super Bowl in front of millions of CBS viewers, yet anyone who owned a television in 2004 can remember the night that a nipple (half) shown on television for 9/16ths of a second made the United States go batsh*t crazy. Behold, the effect of the naked female body.

In case anyone needs a refresher, Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing a set during the Super Bowl's halftime show. As Timberlake finished singing the words "better have you naked by the end of this song," he reached over and grabbed Jackson's leather and red-lace bustier cup, revealing her breast before she covered it with her hand.

Unfortunately for Janet Jackson, her jewelry-covered nipple would set off a wave of mass hysteria -- now known as "Nipplegate" -- that would taint her image, all-but ban her from the Grammys, permanently embed the term "wardrobe malfunction" into our lexicon and force CBS to pay a $550,000 fine to the FCC.

Ten years after the infamous performance, questions remain. Did anyone actually plan the nip-slip? (Probably.) If so, who? (Unclear.) And why did Jackson bear the brunt of the backlash from the American public and the network while Justin Timberlake was allowed to go on his merry breast-exposing way relatively unscathed in the media?

Marina Cogan's fantastic Jan. 28 feature for ESPN Magazine unpacks some of the mystery surrounding Nipplegate and how it set off such insanity. Some of the most interesting revelations included:
  • Jackson's nipple exposure coincided perfectly with the rise of the Parents Television Council (PTC), a conservative group founded nine years earlier, dedicated to campaigning against "indecency" on TV. Michael Powell, then chairman of the FCC told Cogan that "previously ... the FCC received only a handful of indecency complaints a year. It received 540,000 about Janet Jackson's breast."

  • The Super Bowl video clip, which went viral before we really knew what viral was, helped inspire YouTube, which launched a year later.

  • After the ensuing public outcry, the next six Super Bowl halftime shows exclusively featured middle-aged men. (Womp, womp.)

Despite the fact that anyone who re-watches the clip can tell that Justin Timberlake tugged off Jackson's breastplate, the "nip slip" effectively derailed Jackson's career, getting her blacklisted by Viacom while Timberlake performed at the Grammy Awards and took home two awards just days after the incident. Even Timberlake later admitted that he should have done more to support Jackson, and that sexism and racism likely played a part in the backlash being almost entirely directed at her. He told MTV in 2007:
In my honest opinion now ... I could've handled it better. I'm part of a community that consider themselves artists. And if there was something I could have done in her defense that was more than I realized then, I would have. But the other half of me was like, "Wow. We still haven't found the weapons of mass destruction and everybody cares about this!" ... I probably got 10 percent of the blame, and that says something about society. I think that America's harsher on women. And I think that America is, you know, unfairly harsh on ethnic people.

Jackson simply had the bad luck to be a black woman in possession of a nipple. Even today, we see the policing of women's bodies -- and their breasts in particular -- by media gatekeepers and organizations like the PTC. Women are consistently flagged on Facebook for posting photographs of themselves breastfeeding or portraits of their bodies post-mastectomy, and despite the fact that going topless is not criminalized in New York City, there have been instances where women who have chosen to walk around topless are subject to harassment and even arrest.

It's this cultural atmosphere that inspired filmmaker and activist Lina Esco to make the movie "Free The Nipple," scheduled to be released in June of this year. In a December 2013 blog post for The Huffington Post, she pointed out the double standard that exists when it comes to women who chose to expose their own bodies:
When I started my online campaign, Facebook and Instagram banned the photos of topless women that were taken on location, faster than we could put them up. Why can you show public beheadings from Saudi Arabia on Facebook, but not a nipple? Why can you sell guns on Instagram, but yet they will suspend your account for posting the most natural part of a woman's body?

This frustrating reality is one that's not lost on Powell, who feigned outrage over Janet Jackson's nipple for much of 2004. But a decade later, even he is tired of being angry about breasts. "I think we've been removed from this long enough for me to tell you that I had to put my best version of outrage on that I could put on," he told Cogan. "Look, I think [the wardrobe malfunction] was dumb to happen, and they knew the rules and were flirting with them, and my job is to enforce the rules, but, you know, really? This is what we're gonna do?"

Sadly, it seems that the answer to his hypothetical question is still "yes."

Heidi Klum Covers Women's Health, Rarely Gets In A Traditional Workout

Heidi looks gorgeous, as usual, in a short gray skirt and midriff–bearing shirt on the March cover of Women's Health. The 40–year–old model reveals just enough of her toned body to remind you that she's the same fit woman she's always been, and she's proud of her body.

For those of you who've been easing your troubled minds with the notion that Heidi Klum looks as amazing as she does because she has spent 40 years working out for six hours a day, you may want to stop reading.

Klum confesses to Women's Health that she rarely has time for traditional workouts. "I have a treadmill that’s really great, but it just sits there unused,” she admits. Instead, she finds ways to exercise on–the–go, like encouraging her family to spend time together being active outside.

The model explained that she maintains her figure by keeping her energy up and her food intake healthy: "I'll eat everything but the pasta and bread. Do I want the pasta? I do. But I choose not to eat it."

Even for one of the world's most successful (and beautiful) super models, metabolism has not been working in Klum's favor as she's gotten older. She now has to do a better job of watching what she eats and creating a healthy balance of food an exercise, she says. "The metabolism definitely changes when you turn 40. I always thought, That's not going to happen to me, but it is happening to me," she explains. "If I indulge more, I have to exercise more. I figured out what works for me."

It seems as though whatever balance she's found is definitely working in her favor.

Of course, Klum makes it seem as though she puts in less effort than she does. The famous mother has celebrity trainers and efficient workout routines designed to keep her in tip–top shape. After all, she once gave birth and famously walked the Victoria's Secret fashion show just eight weeks later wearing undergarments and angel wings.

Through all of her effort figure, Heidi Klum has always been well-aware of how good she looks. She recalled to Women's Health, "I've always felt great about my body. I've always been very confident, and I still am."

We certainly see why …

Natasha Stewart Jury Deliberates Buttocks Injections Death

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A jury has begun deliberations in the depraved-heart murder trial of a woman accused of helping to arrange the silicone buttocks injections that authorities say killed a woman.

The jury began deliberating late Friday in the case of Natasha Stewart of suburban Memphis, Tenn., who is on trial in Jackson, Miss., in the 2012 death of Karima Gordon of Atlanta. Authorities say Stewart, an adult entertainer also known as Pebbelz Da Model, took $200 for a referral to the alleged injector and falsely claimed the injector was a nurse. Stewart is also charged with wire fraud, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Depraved-heart murder is defined as a "callous disregard for human life" and results in death. It carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Stewart testified Friday that Gordon was insecure about her body and wanted help fixing previously botched buttocks enhancements. Stewart said she connected Gordon with the woman performing the injections to help her out, not for money, but she said Gordon insisted on paying her.

Stewart also testified that she thought the woman performing the injections at a Jackson house was indeed a registered nurse and had gotten the injections herself more than 20 times over seven years.

"She told me that she was an RN," Stewart testified.

Prosecutors say Gordon died from silicone in her lungs a few days after getting the shots in March 2012.

Tracey Lynn Garner, the one suspected of administering the injections, is charged with depraved-heart murder in the deaths of Gordon and another woman, Marilyn Hale of Selma, Ala. She has pleaded not guilty. Her trial is scheduled for March.

Emails introduced Friday in Stewart's case showed that Gordon was a fan of Stewart and was persistent in asking for help to get buttocks injections beginning in 2010.

"I won't give up my mission to ultimately achieve a tastefully great butt enhancement," Gordon wrote in one of the messages.

Gordon's friend, Anglean (AN-juh-lene) Barber, testified Thursday that she and Gordon flew to New York to meet Stewart in February 2012 and that Stewart later referred them to Garner.

Barber said she and Gordon wanted the same kind of buttocks enhancement that Stewart had gotten with hopes of becoming models in the hip-hop industry.

Barber said she and Gordon drove to Garner's house in Jackson on March 16, 2012, and both planned to get the injections. Barber said she was unsettled by the appearance of Garner, who was a man before having gender reassignment surgery, and decided not to get the injections. Barber said Gordon got sick soon after getting the shots.

A doctor testified Thursday that Gordon died in a Georgia hospital on March 24, 2012, of silicone embolism in her lungs.

During closing arguments Stewarts's attorney, Kevin Camp, said that the jury should find his client not guilty because "nobody knew that this situation was going to cause any imminent death." Prosecutors, however, argued that Stewart charged money and lied when she told Gordon that the woman performing the injections was a registered nurse.

Natasha Stewart Convicted Of Manslaughter Of Woman Who Died From Butt Injections

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — To hear Natasha Stewart tell it, she was just trying to help an insecure woman when she helped arrange for her to get silicone injections in her buttocks, shots that prosecutors say were deadly. A jury disagreed, convicting Stewart on Friday of culpable negligence manslaughter.

Stewart, of suburban Memphis, Tenn., was found guilty Friday in Jackson, Miss., in the death of 37-year-old Karima Gordon of Atlanta. Authorities say Stewart, an adult entertainer also known as Pebbelz Da Model, took $200 for a referral to the alleged injector and falsely represented that the injector was a nurse.

Stewart testified Friday that Gordon was insecure about her body and wanted help fixing previously botched buttocks enhancements. Stewart said she connected Gordon with the woman performing the injections to help her out, not for money, but she said Gordon insisted on paying her.

Stewart had been charged with "depraved-heart" murder, defined as a "callous disregard for human life" resulting in death, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. She also had been charged with conspiracy to commit depraved-heart murder.

Jurors decided to go with the option they had been given to convict Stewart of the lesser charge. They also found her guilty of conspiracy to commit culpable negligence manslaughter. She faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Stewart, wearing what appeared to be an orange wig, showed little emotion immediately after the verdict was read. She was found not guilty on the charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Stewart had testified that she thought the woman performing the injections at a Jackson house was indeed a registered nurse and had gotten the injections herself more than 20 times over seven years.

"She told me that she was an RN," Stewart testified.

But Patrick Beasley, a prosecutor with the Mississippi attorney general's office, said someone would have to be "dumb" not to know Garner wasn't a nurse when she used veterinary syringes and sealed the injection sites with cotton balls and glue.

Prosecutors say Gordon died from silicone embolism in her lungs about a week after getting the shots in March 2012.

Tracey Lynn Garner, the one suspected of administering the injections, is charged with depraved-heart murder in the deaths of Gordon and another woman, Marilyn Hale of Selma, Ala. She has pleaded not guilty. Her trial is scheduled for March.

"I won't give up my mission to ultimately achieve a tastefully great butt enhancement," Gordon wrote in one of the messages.

Gordon's friend, Anglean (AN-juh-lene) Barber, testified Thursday that she and Gordon flew to New York to meet Stewart at a club in Queens where Stewart was hosting a party in February 2012 and that Stewart later referred them to Garner.

Barber said Gordon got sick immediately after getting the shots.

A doctor testified Thursday that Gordon died in a Georgia hospital on March 24, 2012, of silicone embolism in her lungs.

During closing arguments, Stewart's attorney, Kevin Camp, said that the jury should find his client not guilty because "nobody knew that this situation was going to cause any imminent death."

Prosecutors, however, argued that Stewart charged money and lied when she told Gordon that the woman performing the injections was a registered nurse.

The '90s Just For Me Hair Relaxer Commercial Song Is Stuck In Our Heads (VIDEO)

When I was just a child and my mother grew tired of straightening my thick, coarse curls at home, she took me to the salon for a chemical hair relaxer. As scary as it may sound, I actually looked forward to getting out of my stylist's chair with sleeker and softer locks. And I have this hair commercial to thank for calming my nerves.

Back in the '90s, the Just for Me hair relaxer was one of the most popular straightening treatments for African-American girls. It's no-lye formula offered a gentler alternative, especially for kids with sensitive scalps. But what really sold this hair relaxer, in my opinion, was the catchy commercial song.

The lyrics were simple yet sassy -- I can still rap them without missing a beat. "I want style, body and shine. A look that's totally all mine. Hair so soft, silky and free. I want something just for me. Just for meeee!"

With three cute girls (one of which was former Destiny's Child member LaTavia Roberson) sporting enviable hairdos as they sang and danced in the commercial, my mom didn't have to do too much begging for me to make a hair appointment.

But I'd be changing my tune years later when I decided to go natural like these stars:

This is getting out of control. But it's also hilarious. Scroll down for more LOL-worthy tweets.

5 Non-Boring Ways To Braid Your Hair, Explained In GIFs

$

If you're looking to spruce up your hair routine, look no further. We've rounded up five unique braids that will leave your friends in awe of your styling skills... after a little practice, at least.

But don't worry, we walk you through with step-by-step tutorials below that will show you how to do a milkmaid braid, a reverse braid, a ponytail braid, a waterfall braid and a five-strand braid. Happy braiding, ya'll!

Need more guidance? Check out videos of these braid tutorials here.

The Milkmaid Braid

Milkmaid Braid tutorial

1. If you have bangs, clip them out of the way unless you want to incorporate them into the braid.
2. Take a vertical section of hair at the base of your neck and split it into three strands.
3. To make the braid sit on top of the hair that's not braided (instead of blending in), weave the middle strand outward while adding hair to the outer sections.
4. Continue braiding all the way around your head until you have no more hair to braid and secure the ends.
5. Take the section of braid that's hanging down and loop it around your head.
6. Use bobby pins to secure the braid and to tuck in any pieces of hair that are sticking out.
7. Finish by unclipping your bangs and using hairspray to tame any flyaway hairs.

The Waterfall Braid

Waterfall Braid tutorial

1. Take a triangular section of hair between your ear and your part.
2. Split into three sections.
3. Weave outer strands inward, only adding hair to the top strand.
4. Whenever the middle strand becomes the bottom strand, split the piece in half. Then, leave half hanging down and continue braiding with the other half.
5. Follow this braiding pattern about three-fourths of the way around your head.
6. Then, braid down as if you were doing a standard braid without adding anymore hair.
7. Secure the ends of braid and finish with hairspray.

The Reverse Braid

Upside-Down Braid tutorial

1. Flip your hair forward.
2. Take a small section of hair at the nape of your neck and split it into three strands.
3. Weave the two outside strands inward while adding hair to each outside strand as you go.
4. When you reach the crown of your head, secure the braid with an elastic ponytail holder.
5. Gather the rest of your hair (including the tail of your braid), make a top knot and secure with bobby pins.

The Ponytail Braid

1. Take a triangular section from behind your ear and split it into three strands.
2. Begin braid by weaving outside strands inward, adding hair as you go and following the natural curve of your head.
3. Stop braiding behind opposite ear and secure end of braid.
4. Gather remaining hair and loop it into a ponytail.
5. Finish with a bit of hairspray to keep flyaway hairs down.

The 5-Strand Braid

5-Strand Braid tutorial

1. Brush hair over to the side you want your braid to sit.
2. Split hair into five equal sections.
3. With both hands, hold the outer four sections of hair while letting the middle section hang loose.
4. The look is a basket weave, so take the farthest section of hair and weave it over the one next to it and under the middle section. Repeat this on the opposite side.
(Tip: Keep your sections clean by always having a middle strand hanging down.)
5. Continue weaving until you're one to two inches from your ends and secure end of braid.
6. Use hairspray to hold the style in place.

5 Things You Should Buy At Estate Sales (And 3 To Skip)

$
0
0
You already know that estate sales are where vintage buyers go to find the "good stuff" -- well-priced antiques straight from the homes that housed them. If you're not necessarily into retro collectibles, you may have driven past sales without a second thought. But, estate sales can be a great place to find more everyday items for a super-cheap price.

Some pro tips before you hunt: Make sure to always have cash on-hand, because you're in for a house-sized garage sale. While estate sale organizers may accept credit cards, you can often get the best deal with cash. If you're not one to scour Craigslist, sign up for a site like EstateSales.Net, which can send you a newsletter with fresh listings.

Ready to get started this weekend? Here's what to take a second glance at -- along with what to pass on.

Silverware The real thing can be pricey when new, but you can often find whole sets for a fraction of the cost. You can also find less-precious (but stylish) sets of everyday flatware for far less than, say, Target prices.

Big Furnishings Older can be better when it comes to furniture, particularly when we're talking about pieces like bureaus, tables and shelving units. You'll generally find solid wood furniture that's been lovingly kept up at these sales, for what you'd basically pay at IKEA.

Dishware Whether it's fine china or a fine piece to eat take-out on, you can find dishes at a steal.

Tablecloths (And Other Niceties) If you ever need to pass yourself off as a more civilized person, here's where you find your props.

Glassware Some of us have never paid more than $1 for glasses (or barware). You can find colorful vintage pieces, or plain old pint glasses.

Bonus Tip For The Ladies Jewelry!

Though we would never come between anyone and their dream 1960s sofa, there are a few things you should generally skip:

Big Appliances You don't really have a chance to make sure they work properly. And, no warranty means no guarantee.

Upholstered Furnishings One word: Bedbugs. Though we take a more cautious (paranoid) stance on that topic, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Cookware Take a very, very close look before you tote that darling enamelware fondue pot home. If there's even a tiny chip, you run the risk of enamel spoiling your cheese heaven.

Christie Brinkley's 5 Quotes On Living Well

Happy Birthday, Christie Brinkley! The stunning supermodel known for her Sports Illustrated covers turns 60 today, and she looks just as good in a swimsuit now as she did decades ago!

Brinkley posed in a swimsuit for this week's issue of People Magazine in honor of her milestone birthday and said she's looking forward to turning 60. "I'm actually excited about turning 60. I feel on top of my game," she told People. Brinkley's modeling career took off in 1979 when she first graced the cover of Sports Illustrated. Since then, she's held contracts as the face of Cover Girl, Total Gym fitness products, and has even launched her own line of eyewear.

christie brinkley kate upton
Brinkley posed with fellow Sports Illustrated model, Kate Upton, at the 2013 Style Awards, and proved she's hardly aged since her cover girl days. She swears by sun protection, exfoliating, and getting plenty of exercise to help keep her youthful appearance.

While she's had her share of personal struggles including surviving a helicopter crash and dealing with a very messy public divorce, Brinkley has remained resilient and optimistic. She often preaches the value of smiling, telling Good Housekeeping, "If you put your mouth in a smiling position, a smiling feeling follows."

Here are some more of her best quotes on aging gracefully and embracing life at any age.

On embracing age rather than fighting it:
"I would be remiss when talking about beauty secrets to not say that one of the best is to care about the world around you. That's what really matters. Even when I'll be sitting here with gray hair and Georgia O'Keeffe wrinkles, people are going to say, 'There is just something youthful about her'."

On what really matters in life:
"No matter what your age is, you only have now. So it's always about living in the moment and being in the moment...I refuse to let those numbers define me and I just try to face each day positively."

On ageism:
"I think Hollywood is aging...thank heavens for baby boomers. Ageism is going by the wayside."

On the best beauty secret:
"A smile is like an instant facelift and an instant mood lift."

On why it's so good being a boomer:
"We're the generation that says 60 is the new 30. We don't let the numbers shape us; we're reshaping the numbers."

The Great Pubic Debate: 'If You Don't Like My Hair, Stay Away From My Vagina' (VIDEO)

It's a burning question: are we expected to shave down there or is okay to keep it all natural?

HuffPost Live posed this question to a few student columnists and found at Brown University in Rhode Island, it's perfectly fine to go with the latter.

"At Brown, because students are really -- really advocate feeling comfortable with your body, there's less of a stigma in keeping your pubic hair the way it naturally is," said Caroline Bologna, a Brown senior.

Bologna doesn't need to ask around to know what other women at doing with their hair styling. There are several events each year at Brown that allow for a glimpse of how students are grooming, including naked yoga at Nudity in the Upspace and the annual naked donut run.

"You'd be surprised how many female students do not shave or wax down there," Bologna said.

Emily Pittinos from the University of Michigan said she's finding as she grows older, it's less of an issue than say, when she was a senior in high school.

"Now that I'm more of an adult, grown up woman," Pittinos said, "I feel like if you don't like my hair, then stay away from my vagina."

Even though Kylie tends to get overshadowed by her older sister Kendall, this breathtaking beauty look proves that she is definitely one to watch. Her well-groomed brows, cat-eye liner, matte foundation and mauve pink lipstick are flawless.

BEST: Anna Kendrick

anna kendrick

This is old Hollywood glam done right! Kendrick's gorgeous red ringlets, smokey eyeshadow and glossy nude lips make up a winning red carpet look.

WORST: Gwyneth Paltrow

gwyneth paltrow

It's such a shame that Gwyneth paired her banging blue dress with limp locks and washed-out makeup. A sleeker 'do (whether worn straight or pulled-back) and a pop of color on the cheeks would have brightened up her face.

WORST: Hilary Duff

hilary duff

Duff's natural beauty is masked by the frosty blue eyeshadow, spidery false eyelashes and unflattering brown lip color. Less is always more.

WORST: Melody Thornton

melody thornton

The former Pussycat Dolls singer looks like one golden blur with her unnatural blonde hair color, obvious contour makeup lines and that super bright shade of pink lipstick.

WORST: Michelle Dockery

michelle dockery

We doubt Dockery's "Downton Abbey" character Lady Mary Crawley would approve of this weird pompadour hairstyle and faded lipstick.

WORST: Kelly Rutherford

kelly rutherford

The "Gossip Girl" actress' heavy black eyeliner drags her face down, and that flipped-up hairstyle makes her seem much older than she really is.

9 Lessons We've Learned From Christie Brinkley On Aging Gracefully

Christie Brinkley turns 60 today. Let that marinate in your brain for a minute...

The stunning supermodel doesn't just look good for her age, she looks good for any age. Those fabulous blonde waves, famous seductive poses and, of course, that mega-watt smile are just a few of the reasons why she is still on top of her game.

With over 40 years in the fashion business, Brinkley has definitely discovered the secret to living a beautiful and healthy lifestyle. And we want to know them!

So in celebration of Christie Brinkley's 60th birthday, we've compiled a list of lessons we've picked up from the model to help us age gracefully.

1. She understands the healing power of a smile. "The mere act of putting your lips in that position tells your body to release chemicals that instantly make you feel better," Brinkley told Prevention magazine.

2. She knows that the best anti-aging secret is... hair extensions. "I think of it as a choice. Do I want to put in the time or do I just want to put in the hair? Literally, it's just click, click, click," Brinkley revealed to HuffPost Style.

3. She doesn't believe in crash diets or bogus eating habits. (Amen!) Brinkley explained to Prevention, "Go ahead and have the Kit Kat at the movies. If you don't satisfy an urge sometimes, you often substitute less-satisfying things and end up eating more."

4. She still models with her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook.

5. She doesn't take things too seriously. #Selfie

6. She isn't afraid to slip into a bathing suit or bikini.

7. She keeps life interesting by dating younger men. "[With] men my age I feel quite invisible to them," Brinkley told Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell. "I think a ten year span is fine."

8. She makes giving back through philanthropy a family affair. Now that's gorgeous! Brinkley said in an interview with Hamptons magazine, "I really believe in the power of the individual to make change, and our family is a real collection of individuals."

9. She blocks out all the negativity from the Internet. "We do not go into the Blogosphere," the model told us in an interview. "We just don’t because I got a heavy dose of that after my last divorce, and it was my introduction to the whole computer world... I was quite shocked that such an ugly place exists in the world. So now we all have a family pact. We just do no go pass the end of the article. Period."

They don't call her a supermodel for nothing!

We Can't Stop Thinking About These Accessories Of The Week

Even though we witnessed some pretty amazing outfits this weeks, it's the accessories we're still thinking about.

Between Sarah Hyland's bold pumps, Selita Ebanks' glitzy statement earrings and Vanessa Hudgens' round sunglasses, we were definitely left with inspiration to last us through the month.

Selena Gomez's sunglasses

selena

Just when you think her loose white blouse and ripped jeans can't get any cooler, she throws on these awesome sunnies!

Vanessa Hudgens' sunglasses

vanessa

We think this is one John Lennon tribute the legend might have appreciated.

Felicity Huffman's hat

huffman

We're so bored of fedoras, this straw hat is such a nice change of pace. Plus, it helps to protect her skin from the sun.

Ali Larter's clutch

This oversized orange clutch adds the perfect pop of color to her otherwise neutral outfit.

January Jones' belt

It's not often that we see female celebs wearing belts with their jeans, but we love this look on Jones. The gold hardware toughens up her preppy ensemble.

Sarah Hyland's Oscar Tiye ‘Rawan’ pumps

Hyland's bright yellow pumps make her look sophisticated and fashion-forward.

Selita Ebanks' earrings

It's easy to go overboard on bling, but Ebanks managed to add just the right amount sparkle to her winter white outfit with these statement earrings.

Here are some more of our favorite accessories:
