Kaley Cuoco took scissors to her blonde hair, sharing her fresh look on Instagram. "I can't stop," she captioned one particularly misleading photo, which made it appear as though she had gone shoulder-length.

The 28-year-old posted before and after photos of the cut. "Spring refresh :)," she wrote, posting the finished product.

As the Daily Mail notes, a shorter look will help show off her new upper back tattoo. Cuoco debuted the ink last week, which features her wedding date in Roman numerals (XII XXXI XIII).

Charlotte Casiraghi is proof that moms can be stylish and the life of the party.

Making her first official post-baby appearance at the Rose Ball in Monte-Carlo, Monaco on Saturday evening, Casiraghi joined Monaco's royal family to celebrate and support the Princess Grace Foundation.

For the glamorous event, she sported a silver strapless Chanel Couture gown with an embellished shawl. Casiraghi sparkled in the metallic number as she cut loose on the dance floor to the sounds of Lebanese-British singer-songwriter Mika.

Her aunt Princess Charlene looked stunning in a one-shouldered navy and black dress with diamond drop earrings. Beatrice Borromeo (Charlotte's brother Pierre Casiraghi's girlfriend) also attended the annual charity ball wearing a breathtaking peach gown with a matching fur stole. And, of course, Chanel's head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld was all up in the royal mix sporting his signature black-and-white.

Check out Casiraghi and her fellow Monaco nobles at last night's Rose Ball and tell us what you think of their luxe party looks.

Shaliene Woodley looked absolutely stunning, when she walked the red carpet for the UK Premiere of "Divergent" on Sunday, March 30.

The 22-year-old actress looked happy, immediately hugging co-star Theo James, when she spotted him at the event.

Outside of her starring role in the "Divergent" franchise, Woodley has made headlines with her interesting beauty routine.

Her "alternative lifestyle," is said to include getting her food directly from a farm, giving her "vagina a little extra vitamin D" and eating clay.

"I first heard about the benefits of eating clay from a taxi driver," she told Into The Gloss, " ... so, I've discovered that clay is great for you because your body doesn’t absorb it, and it apparently provides a negative charge, so it bonds to negative isotopes."

Anyways, she looks fantastic, so at least one of those "alternative lifestyle" tactics is working.

Waves ahead!

It looks like Robyn Lawley is going to have the best summer ever. The 24-year-old Australian beauty teased a photo on Facebook from her latest Cosmopolitan photo shoot on Sunday, writing:

Sneak Peek of my beauty and hair story in May issue of @cosmopolitan USA! Great team !! Shot by #leebroomfield.

Since breaking into the modeling industry, most of the focus has been on Lawley's shape with her proving that she's so much more than a plus-size model. But we gotta give it up to Cosmo for following Barneys New York lead and directing the camera's lens to her gorgeous face and hair.

Until we can get our hands on this issue, we'll be in the bathroom mirror with this photograph and a clipless curling iron trying to recreate Lawley's beachy waves.

The 3 Small Space Mistakes You're Making (And How To Fix Them)

$

0
You might not be able to control the fact that your apartment is on the smaller end of the spectrum (or your home's layout leaves much to be desired in terms of square footage), but you can control the way you live within the space. So many of us make a big error in trying to fit too much into close quarters, thinking that having all the comforts of larger digs will give the illusion of a grander living arrangement. Doesn't quite work that way. In addition of the sin of too much stuff, there are 3 other mistakes you're probably making in your small space. We asked Domino Digital Director Krissy Tiglias to diagnose the problems -- and how to resolve them once and for all.

Have a small space question of your own? Tweet @HuffPostHome and @DominoMag with the hashtag #smallspacechat.

Mistake: Hanging curtains too low (near the top of the window frame).
modern living room curtains

Instead: Emphasize the height of a room (or at least cheat it a little bit) by hanging curtains close to the ceiling and letting drapes fall all the way to the floor.
windows

Mistake: Choosing cumbersome furnishings without thinking of what your space actually needs.
modern corner sofa

Instead: The one benefit of living in a small space is that you don't need to buy as much. However, don't let a sale find, Craigslist bargain or hand-me-down seduce you -- the result will usually be a chaotic mix of furnishings that are too bulky for the space. Instead, budget for pieces that will actually fit into the room without taking over. "Be sure to buy a sofa that you love, take your time and consider re-upholstering a vintage one," Tiglias says. "Also, look for pieces without arms, which will save you valuable space." Every inch counts!
spend on important

Mistake: Avoiding color. Everything doesn't need to be white.
white living room

Instead: "There are so many rules around colors and small rooms and I always felt if you strike a balance it can make the space so rich," Tiglias says. "I also love one dark hued wall, it's feel expansive." Plus, a rich wall (red, navy, chocolate) steals the attention from the cheap or old laminate cabinets. Can't paint? Choose colorful rugs and accessories, like the gorgeous room, below.

The Average Cost Of A Wedding Rises To $30,000, Survey Says

Till debt do us part?

From beachside nuptials to extravagant floral arrangements, it's no shocker that weddings can cost a pretty penny. Just how much, though, may surprise you. According to wedding planning website TheKnot, the average cost of a wedding in America last year was roughly the price of a new car, or about $30,000 (excluding the honeymoon).

For its annual Real Weddings Study, released March 27, TheKnot surveyed 13,000 brides and grooms across the country and sourced statistics on everything from "location fees" to tuxedo costs. It found that tying the knot just keeps growing more expensive, despite the trend for casual weddings. The average wedding cost in 2013 was the highest since the website began monitoring prices in 2007.

One cause may be couples' greater attention to guest experience.

"Couples are more focused than ever on creating a unique, personalized and once-in-a-lifetime experience for their guests -- plus they're doing so in a modern way, by planning from their smartphones, publicizing details on social media and more," Carley Roney, co-founder of The Knot, said in a statement.

Overwhelmed by images of celebrity wedding extravagance and a surplus of wedding planning glossies, couples are pressured to put on a show-stopping Big Day.

"We've created this fairy tale thought in our mind of what our wedding has to be, and it has to be perfect," Stacy Francis, the CEO of financial planning and wealth management firm Francis Financial, told USA Today.

The survey of TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com members revealed some other interesting data about modern weddings:

Most expensive place to wed: Manhattan, $86,916 on average

Average marrying age: bride, 29; groom, 31

Wedding dress cost: New York City (and Long Island) brides spent the most money on their gowns ($3,027 and $2,160, respectively), while brides in Alaska and Oklahoma spent far less ($804 and $859, respectively)

To trim costs and score vendor deals, financial planning website LearnVest has some incredible tips from recent bride Jane Bianchi, who saved $21,000 on her big day.

Nicole Richie is returning to reality TV, but she is definitely not the same girl that you watched ditz-it-up with Paris Hilton on "The Simple Life."

Richie is bringing her often acerbic and perpetually sassy wit to VH1 with #CandidlyNicole, a half-hour reality show based on her acclaimed Twitter feed and wildly popular AOL web series.

The series will follow Richie throughout her daily life as she provides commentary on everything from family to fashion to business. Since her "Simple Life" days, Richie has acted on and off while immersing herself in non-profit work, a fashion career and family life.

“Viewers will enjoy her unique point of view and earnest look at pop culture as well as her fearless exploration of anything and everything taboo,” says VH1 EVP of Original Programming and Development, Susan Levison. Anyone who's followed Richie's transformation from wild child to philanthropist/responsible mother and wife knows that growing older has only made her bolder, and that she's never afraid to voice her opinion.

VH1 and the whole realm of reality television is about to get a lot more fabulous.

6 Great Tips to Better Skin

$
0

According to a recent poll, women spend $426 billion dollars a year on makeup and skin products. If only there was a way to improve your skin, complexion, lines and wrinkles without dishing out thousands of dollars a year on expensive products. Well there is. As it turns out, beauty is not only skin deep. Instead, true beauty and great skin come from what we eat and how we live.

Have you noticed how public figures, celebrities and health advocates seem to age so gracefully? Often times, these figures are idolized for their magnificent skin and youthful appearance, and assumptions are made about the team of makeup artists and doctors responsible for that look. While they may have access to more support than the average person, the foundation of their rich complexion often comes from the healthy lifestyles they have grown accustomed to.

As a weight loss physician, I see patients achieving life transforming wellness every day. Their glow radiates as they twirl in the mirror in a skirt that's one size smaller, or grin ear to ear because they finally feel well after years of food sensitivities and discomfort. The glow is real, and it's not from a product you can buy in the beauty isle. After a complete body change, my patients notice their radiance, as well as how much their complexion has improved after eating a healthy diet. They look years younger as a result of living a healthier lifestyle. Choosing a lifestyle with whole foods and nutritionally balanced meals affects not just weight, but your skin as well. Here are some tips to start you on your way to a healthier lifestyle and radiant skin.

2014-03-26-shutterstock_126254801.jpg

Don't forget vitamin C: According to a study on dietary nutrient intake and skin-aging in middle-aged American women conducted by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, higher vitamin C intake was associated with a lower likelihood of a wrinkled appearance, regardless of age, race, sunlight exposure, menopausal status and other lifestyle factors. Vitamin C promotes collagen synthesis, which is vital is skin elasticity and wards off wrinkles. Good sources of vitamin C include peppers, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, and mango.

2014-03-26-shutterstock_144889729.jpg

Cut out simple carbohydrates: The same study cited above found that a 50 gram decrease per day in carbohydrates, most notably simple carbohydrates such as processed, sugary foods, led to less likelihood of wrinkle appearance and skin atrophy, regardless of lifestyle factors. Carbohydrates in your diet should be filled with fiber, and two great sources of healthy carbs are vegetables and legumes.

2014-03-26-shutterstock_116951080.jpg

Focus on fat: While you're probably expecting to hear that you should focus on eliminating fat, the reality is that some fat is not only healthy, but vital to your health and beauty. The trick is choosing the right kinds of fat. Linoleic acid, an unsaturated omega-6 fatty acid, is shown to reduce senile dryness and reduce skin atrophy. Linoleic acid is found in cooking oils such as safflower, grape seed, and sunflower oil. Unsaturated fats, such as linoleic acid, contain omegas that improve skin quality and health. Steer clear of saturated fats, such as butter or lard, which can cause inflammation and oil build up in arteries and on your skin surface.

2014-03-26-shutterstock_132820253.jpg

Eat more chicken: The biggest difference I help people make in their diet is getting enough protein spread throughout the day. Lean, adequate protein in essential for a healthy diet and functioning metabolism, and the amino acids it provides are necessary for tissue growth and repair. In fact your skin, nails and hair are made from amino acids and getting enough daily is essential for youthful, vibrant skin. The average woman should aim for 80 to 100 grams per day, and it is important for protein intake to be spread out over the course of the day instead of just once a day in a large dinner serving that is quite typical of the American diet. Chicken and cold water fish are excellent sources of protein. Healthy snacks during the day are just as important, and should contain close to 10 grams of protein each. The vast majority of "snack" foods are composed of simple carbohydrates such as sugars and starches. A little healthy protein such as nut butters, hummus or lower fat cheese along with vegetables and fruit make a much better snack.

2014-03-26-shutterstock_93375277.jpg

Go green: Green tea is an amazing antioxidant that can help keep you hydrated and reduce inflammation. A cup of green tea provides around 10-40 mg of polyphenols (plant antioxidants) and has antioxidant activity greater than a serving of broccoli, spinach, carrots, or strawberries. An antioxidant is a scavenger of damaging free radicals -- molecules with an imbalance of electrons. Free radicals can wreak havoc on your cell membranes, causing the damaged cells to age prematurely. A great replacement for an afternoon coffee, green tea has naturally occurring caffeine. Aim for organic varieties without added sugar or preservatives for the best results.

2014-03-26-shutterstock_74088457.jpg

The right water: While it has become common knowledge that drinking plenty of water is a key to improving overall health and skin quality, I recommend a reverse osmosis system that filters tap water through a semi-permeable membrane, removing impurities. This system will rid your water of added chemicals, such as chlorine, for the purest water and radiant skin. It is even better if you can use water bottles composed of stainless steel or glass as you hydrate to avoid chemicals that are found in some plastics that can disrupt your hormone balance.

Naomi Campbell Reveals Plans To Launch A Clothing Line & Says Fashion Diversity Is Getting Better

Naomi Campbell took a break from laughing about Vogue's Kimye cover to announce some major news.

According to The Cut, the supermodel, who has risen to fashion icon status by rocking other people's designs, revealed while attending the British Vogue Festival on Sunday that she'll be creating her very own collection.

“I always had this feeling of, I love working with designers — I don’t want to be their competition, and maybe if I do my own line they won’t work with me anymore. Now I’ve grown up a bit more, I will be [launching a line], yes.... I will design not just for women of color, but for all. I see there’s lots of things that are not there that I feel that I’d like to have, and so I’d like to share it with everybody. So yes, I will, and hopefully one of the things will be out by 2015.”

Campbell will hopefully join the ranks of other top models who have found success designing, including Iman, Liya Kebede and Alessandra Ambrosio.

While at the festival, Campbell also opened up about the state of diversity within the fashion industry and whether she believes progress is being made.

“Yes, I do feel that things are changing," she said. “When we started this whole thing about diversity, it wasn’t just about the fashion shows — it was that the designers would then follow through and use models of color in the campaigns, which is what we’ve all wanted to see,” she said during her interview with British Vogue’s Alexandra Shulman.

“And you’ve got so many — I was so happy to see this issue [British Vogue's March issue]. You’ve got Prada [featuring Cindy Bruna and Malaika Firth], you’ve got Tom Ford Beauty [featuring Betty Adewole]. I mean I’ve never seen anything like this. This shows that there is a change for the positive and we’re going in the right direction. So this issue is a treasure, because it’s the first landmark.”

Beautiful at Any Age: My Makeup Secrets for a Fresh-faced Look

$

I recently hosted a masterclass inspired by a shoot I did for the "Fabulous at Every Age" issue of Harper's Bazaar Australia late last year. It was an amazing experience working with my team to create gorgeous looks for models aged from their 20s to their 70s as I firmly believe that every woman can and should be fabulous at every age. While I don't have many hard and fast rules for makeup application aside from creating a look that makes you feel beautiful, it is important to adjust your approach to makeup as you grow older. Our features and our skin inevitably change so it only makes sense that your makeup should evolve along with them. Here are my top tips to take you through the decades.

20s: Dare to Bare With Sheer Foundation
One of my number one beauty "don'ts" is overdoing foundation -- it's not supposed to look like a mask! Use foundation only where you need to camouflage and blend it out from the center of the face so there's barely any product along the jawline and outer edges of the face. You may not even need a full-on foundation -- a tinted moisturizer is often enough to even your tone while keeping the finish fresh and youthful.

2014-03-31-phoebetonkinHP.jpg

Phoebe Tonkin of "The Vampire Diaries"

30s: Meet Your Perfect (Concealer) Match
The under eye area often becomes a concern for women in their 30s and heavy concealer or the wrong formula can make fine lines and dark circles even more obvious! Rather than investing your concealer budget into a wardrobe of sunnies for 24-7 coverage look for a yellow or peach-toned concealer that will mask dark circles without having to load on product. To mask redness, try a corrective concealer underneath your foundation.

Zoe Saldana

40s: Amp Up Your Arches
I'm a major advocate of a bold brow at any age, but avoiding thin, sparse brows is especially important over 40. Overplucked brows instantly age your face, and make you look angry and mean! A fuller, groomed shape suits most women and helps to give the illusion of lifting the face. To keep your lash line looking lush, try a faux lash! They're available in every style from super subtle to va-va-voom voluminous and they add instant definition.

2014-03-31-sandrabullock435HP.jpg2014-03-31-SMPatdeskHP.jpg

Sandra Bullock; my wife and muse Soula-Marie Perdis

50s: Choose Creams for a Flawless Finish
Opt for creams and liquid foundations over powders, as they sync with the skin for a more natural effect and they won't cake or collect into fine lines. Be sure to mold the products into the skin for a modern matte finish. As skin ages it becomes increasingly important to prep the skin to ensure it's properly hydrated and nourished before you apply a drop of makeup. Always massage and prep the skin with serum for long lasting hydration, and prep with Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer to not only prepare the skin for your foundation but make your makeup stay fresher for longer.

Emma Watson was a vision in white at the London premiere of "Noah."

Watson stunned in a backless Ralph Lauren Collection dress featuring a thigh-high slit and a halter top when she arrived at Leicester Square, Just Jared noted. She wore pretty, neutral makeup and styled her hair in a sleek chignon for the night.

The 23-year-old is excited to be back in her native nation.

"I loved my role," she told Reuters of the film. "She’s got such a huge heart. She’s very wise, very relatable, and then you hear about the cast, it’s like Russell Crowe and Sir Anthony Hopkins and Jennifer Connelly and Ray Winstone. And you realize that it’s the opportunity to work with people who really are at the top of their game."

Today is a perfect day to make like Beyonce, channel your inner grown woman and walk with a vengeance.

An alternative video for her hit song "Grown Woman" has made an appearance, and it's a perfect combination of fierce, fun and always-fabulous. The song's original video features Queen-Bey at many ages singing (or sort of lip-syncing to) the upbeat, empowering tune, but the alternative version takes a more youthful, cartoonish approach to the concept of adulthood.

Which do you prefer, the home-video style original or the glitzy alternative? Check out the original below to remind yourself how it all started.

My Opening Day Spikes

My new Saint Laurent "Spikes" from Barneys New York.

Nothing beats the excitement I feel when I set foot on the softly carpeted floor of a shoe department in one of my favorite stores. I imagine it's a bit like how Buster Posey will feel tonight in Arizona, as he ambles across the fresh grass to his spot behind the plate.

My form of elation breaks down something like this:

First, my gut fills with butterflies. Yes, just like those first date/first love/first anything insects.

Second, my heart beats ten-times faster, and I can feel it racing from beneath my wife beater.

Third, my body temperature rises 30 degrees which is why I always shop sans sleeves to avoid excess sweat.

Forth, my IQ drops 80 points and I lose all sense of perspective, reality, and time. I have the metallic Comme Des Garcons clown shoes to prove it.

Fifth, my blood alcohol level rises past that dreaded .08% line even though I am sober. I feel drunk with shopping power!

Sixth, my strength and reaction times triple -- I can lunge across the Chanel display at warp speed, cradle dozens of shoes in my arms, and leap tall mannequins in a single bound to grab the toe of that Balenciaga boot dangling from that foot in the sky.

Anyway.

As I pushed open those heavy glass doors on Stockton Street to enter Barneys and ascended those stairs to the shoes, I started to hyperventilate and experience the six stages of shoe-mania listed above, and came back down to earth with my new pair of Saint Laurent spiked ankle-strap kitten-heel pumps. I love them.

I know that when I'm high on shopping I've made many bad purchases I've regretted - we all do stupid things and have taken home stupid men while high on anything, but when it's right, you just know it.

I'm sure Buster regrets those bad swings at bad pitches, but when it's right, and he connects, well...

Home run.

So tonight on Opening Day of the Major League Baseball Season, I'm going to strap on my spikes and celebrate my fashion home run.

To that end, last year, she came up with "Baby Mugging," a way to get an adorable picture of your infant in a mug, without using force or Photoshop. Now, she is onto something new called "Baby Suiting," and yes, you guessed it, it involves tiny babies in huge suits.

Introducing twelve extremely well-dressed tiny humans. If you find yourself stuck at home with a baby and want to get in on the action, visit Mommy Shorts for instructions and post your shots on Instagram with the hashtag #babysuiting.
