As the cold in New York City continues to squash our springtime dreams, we've found ourselves staring at warm-weather clothing and dreaming up our very own spring wishlists. So we were thrilled to find out that Shopbop's new accessories campaign is jam-packed full of must-have items. But what's even better than bold printed bags and colorful sunnies? Seeing all of those pieces being modeled by (and around) a bunch of ridiculously cute pups.

The online retailer called upon some of their employee's furry friends for what we can only refer to as the most adorable shoot of all time, and the results are SO good... you might just forget all about this dreary weather.

Take a look at the collection below, try not to let your head explode with cuteness and head over to Shopbop.com to purchase.

Has Fashion Gone to the Dogs? This Pooch Puts Things Into Perspective!

The hottest supermodel in fashion right now has a tail.

Story continues after photo.
8lb pooch

Meet Goldie, a very stylish Chihuahua whose signature snout, pointy ears and piercing eyes have made her fashion's coolest "IT" girl. This break out style star is the elusive muse for 8LB POOCH, a fashion collage project cleverly created by designer Klee Van Schoonhoven. Since it's debut on Instagram, 8LB POOCH has propelled Goldie to fame and given fans everywhere more than just a laugh -- it's served as the best kind of fashion reality check.

8lb pooch

8lb pooch

Van Schoonhoven tells GLAM4GOOD there was no set message when she started 8LB POOCH, but she has since realized there must be something empowering there for fans. She said, "If Goldie's head breaking through pictures of perfection that might normally make someone be hard on themselves, instead makes them smile, then I don't know if it's empowering, but I think it's pretty great."

We asked Van Schoonhoven if celebrity had turned her muse high maintenance: "Goldie determines whether the shot is going to happen," she says, "Sometimes she's into it and sometimes she's not. There are even days when Goldie storms off the set, refusing to pose, and [she] often sleeps 18 to 20 hours a day."

Hmmm, sounds like a few other supermodels we know. But, ultimately, 8LB POOCH is a project about love, fashion and two best friends: a glamour girl with a camera and a supermodel that proves every now and then, fashion needs a pooch to keep things in perspective.

GLAM4GOOD thinks 8LB POOCH is "pretty great," too. Don't you?

Brandy Is Loving Her New Afro And So Are We (PHOTOS)

We love Afros around these parts -- the voluminous halos of hair are just so darn lovely. So we were super excited to see that Brandy is rocking the retro look.

The singer/actress debuted the 'do on Thursday before appearing on "The Queen Latifah Show." And she's clearly loving her new look considering she posted several Instagram pics of the full 'fro, which is actually a wig from Heat Free Hair's "For Kinks" collection.

And Brandy's look is definitely reminiscent of Little Orphan Annie, which explains this Instagram video that the singer composed to pay homage to the comic strip-turned-movie character...

How To Ask These 5 Awkward Wedding Planning Questions

0
0

By Laura Fredricks for Bridal Guide

Need to ask your parents for money or your 'maids to spring for a pricey frock? Here, "ask expert" Laura Fredricks shows you how to get the answers you want to hear.

In wedding planning, as in life, there are uncomfortable topics you have to cover, so knowing the right way to ask (instead of argue) for things gives you a way to resolve any possible ripples before they become tidal waves. When the asking is out of the way, there’s more time for enjoying, celebrating and making memories. Isn’t that what your big day is supposed to about? Here, some ideas.

How to ask your guests to travel for a destination wedding:

Asking your friends to get on board with this can be difficult. Between time off from work and the cost of travel and lodgings, a lot of friends and family might find it difficult and expensive to attend. It’s ideal to give your potential guests as much notice as possible. Read our destination wedding countdown calendar.

You could start by saying, "We would love to have you help us celebrate and I know this will require extra time and money on your part. Do you think you could make a vacation around the wedding? I’m sure we can work with the hotel to get you extended nights at our wedding rates."

How to ask for someone not to be in your bridal party:

It’s no secret that with two sets of families involved, assumptions will be made that might not necessarily mesh with your big-day plans — but what do you do when a friend assumes she’ll be part of the bigger festivities? Instead of hoping and praying your friend will understand, get in front of the conversation and say, "I would have loved to have a larger bridal party, but I hope you can support our decision to keep it small — I’m asking that this not jeopardize our friendship." Read how to choose your bridesmaids.

Reinforce how important your friend is to you and ask her to participate in another special wedding activity, emphasizing how much that would mean to you. Not everyone will understand but by asking for their support, you can feel good that you recognized a friend’s feelings and want to remain close.

How to ask parents to help pay for some of the wedding costs:

Asking parents for money on your special day is such a sensitive issue because no one wants to deter from the happiness of getting married by focusing on money. The best way to keep the “wedding bliss” while addressing the money realities is to lead with the things you are paying for and ask for the money to cover what’s left. See the traditional wedding budget breakdown.

For example: "Mom/Dad, you know we couldn’t be happier at this time in our lives. We’re going to have the wedding of our dreams, but we’re feeling the financial pressure between the caterers, flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses and limousines. Would it be possible for you to pay for the rehearsal dinner? We kept the wedding party to our closest friends and family and we can work with the site on the menu so that it won’t cost a fortune."

How to ask your parents/in-laws to cut the guest list:

The hardest part in planning any wedding is keeping everyone happy, and it seems as if that’s nearly impossible when creating the guest list. Everyone has their own definition of what makes up a "short guest list". One approach may be to recognize your parents/in-laws’ excitement to share your wedding with everyone but explain to them that you’ve always envisioned your big day as something small and intimate. Read how to get your guest list under control.

In that case, you may ask, "It is wonderful that you want to invite so many friends to share in our special day but my dream has always been to keep it on the smaller side. I’m so happy we are planning this as a family — can we work together to keep the list a bit shorter? I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings but I would rather have a smaller, more intimate ceremony."

How to ask your bridesmaids to spend some hard-earned cash:

Many bridesmaids may not have extra cash to spend, particularly if they are a student, recently out of work or have debt or other family obligations. The best thing a bride can do is ask her bridesmaids to spend a little of their own money, while helping them look for ways to save at the same time. Get solutions for the biggest bridesmaid dilemmas.

Try saying "I know all this adds up to a lot of money and the last thing I want to do is put my friends and family in financial hardship. We’re happy to help with your [select any of the following that fits into your budget] travel expenses, hair and makeup costs for the big day or the cost of your dress."

Author, speaker and Expert on the Ask, Laura Fredricks has shared her expertise in The Wall Street Journal and other publications.

The 'Most Unforgettable Women In The World' Turn Heads In This 1989 Revlon Commercial

Standards of beauty in American society may not have changed much over time, but we believe that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. And what's more beautiful than a woman who confidently owns her uniqueness? Not much from what we see in this 1989 Revlon commercial.

The ad features women of all ages and backgrounds, like Joan Rivers, The Pointer Sisters, Bernadette Peters and Sally Kellerman answering the question, "What makes a woman unforgettable?" For once, we'd have to agree with Rivers when she blurts out "that she can reach 50 and not care." And we absolutely adore Peters' response: "Her mind, surrounded by lots of naturally curly hair."

And even though Revlon is clearly pushing their nail polish in this 30-something second spot, we don't mind because in between flashes of supermodel Linda Evangelista's slick red manicure and matching lipstick we get these refreshing takes on the true meaning of beauty.

This week, Marie Claire tweeted a photo of Kendall Jenner wearing cornrows with an insensitive caption, and Twitter went CRAZY. In the tweet, the magazine insinuated that she essentially invented this braided hairstyle and chaos ensued.

The hashtag #EpicBraidLevels took off as Twitter users posted pictures, memes and hilarious commentary. We've been seeing the backlash all week -- here's everything we found:

41 Outfits That Prove Pharrell's Style Is Out Of This World

We can't even believe that the one and only Pharrell Williams turns 41 today.

Of course we can't get enough of his music -- we're playing "Happy" on repeat and jamming to some of his throwback collaborations, because "Beautiful" with Snoop Dogg will never not be one of our favorite songs.

But if there's one thing you can't deny when talking about Pharrell, it's his awesome fashion sense. If you didn't hear about his infamous hat from the Grammy Awards, you must be living under a rock.

In celebration of Pharrell's birthday, here are some of his outfits that prove he's one of the coolest celebrities in the fashion game (and that he's had a couple of hat phases).

And, watch the promo for Saturday Night Live above, featuring Anna Kendrick with the birthday boy, which airs tonight.

7 Fashion Mistakes You'll Regret Forever

Ask anyone: There's nothing like a rule to make us want to break the rules. We're clothing contrarians through and through, and proving that we can flip a "don't" into a "do" is one of our great joys of getting dressed in the morning. And, if you're the type to consider phrases like "No white after Labor Day" and "Don't mix black and blue" as jokes and not helpful styling tips, you know what we're talking about.

Kaley Cuoco Breaks Out The Bikini ... And The Furry Costumes

Kaley Cuoco is proud of her breast implants and she's not afraid to show 'em!

The "Big Bang Theory" beauty posted a silly photo to Instagram on Friday, April 4, in which she's seen wearing a string bikini, her bottom covered in a pink sarong and her hands inside giant ape gloves. Next to her is co-star Wil Wheaton wearing a green polka dot bikini, covered in red fur and holding an ape mask. All in all, a regular day on set, we're sure.

Cuoco recently opened up to Cosmopolitan magazine about going under the knife, calling her breast augmentation "the best decision I ever made."

Kristen Stewart Dyes Her Hair Orange

Kristen Stewart has orange hair now, but the dramatic dye-job is apparently only a temporary one.

Maison de Cheveux salon in New Orleans posted a photo of Stewart's new 'do to Instagram Friday, April 4. In the snapshot, the actress can be seen flashing the bright hue and a peace sign.

"Kristen Stewart gettin her hair ready for a new role! #americamultra#awesomecolor#houseofhair," the caption reads.

The 23-year-old is gearing up to film "American Ultra" in New Orleans alongside Jesse Eisenberg. The indie action-comedy, which is set to film from April 14 through June 10, is about a small-town guy and his live-in girlfriend who get ensnared in a government operation because of his past, the Times-Picayune previously reported.

Kris Jenner took a page out of Kanye West's style handbook when she stepped out in a pair of leather pants for a lunch meeting in Calabasas, Calif., on Friday, April 4.

The 58-year-old momager was spotted wearing the skin-tight trousers, a T-shirt, a blazer and lace-up boots for an edgy look. She topped the outfit off with some dark sunglasses and a Chanel backpack as she made her way past paparazzi and into the meeting.

It's hard to not think of Jenner's soon-to-be son-in-law, who has been rocking the leather look for years and even claims leather jogging pants were his idea.

One man's curly locks -- and the objects he puts in them -- are bringing smiles to thousands of people across the internet.

Ahmad El-Abi, an Egyptian photographer, started the #StuffedHair project after a photo he posted of himself with rubber ducks in his hair got a positive reaction online, Instagram's blog reported. Since then it has taken off, with people all over the world checking Instagram to see what he'll put in his hair next.

"I hope to inspire others to open their eyes, to do what they love and to discover more about what they can do, because when I started photography three years ago, I didn’t know I would be doing conceptual/creative photography," El-Abi told the Instagram blog. "I really love it when someone says my photos cheer them up because they are colorful and funny."

The whimsical project involves pictures of the Instagrammer with all kinds of colorful and interesting items in his hair -- from Lego blocks to lollipops to kitchen utensils -- and it's sure to amuse you. Enjoy!

The dress code for the event was all-black, according to E! News. Gomez opted for a slinky dress, while Jenner went with a black crop top and skirt.

Old Hollywood Looks With A Modern Twist Top This Week's Best & Worst Beauty List

What's old is new again, well sort of. On this week's beauty list, celebrities like Kate Upton, Naomi Campbell and Emma Watson channeled old Hollywood with their hair and makeup. But they all managed to put an interesting spin on it with a fresher eyeshadow color or lipstick shade.

Check out these classic beauty looks below (plus more standout hair and makeup).

BEST: Kate Upton

kate upton

Upton looks like a modern-day Grace Kelly wearing a bouffant hairstyle, winged eyeliner, rosy cheeks and nude lipstick. The polished updo and makeup gives way to those stunning diamond earrings.

BEST: Bella Thorne

bella thorne

The former Disney star shook things up on the Kids' Choice Awards orange carpet with her copper-colored hair in a half-up, half-down hairstyle, green eyeliner and pink-stained lips.

BEST: Naomi Campbell

naomi campbell

You know what they say, "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it." And Campbell just can't lose with her signature blunt bangs, smoldering eye makeup and nude, glossy lips. We especially love the mauve eyeshadow that makes her hazel eyes pops.

BEST: Emma Watson

emma watson

Watson has captivated us with all of her "Noah" premiere looks, including this swooped bangs and ballerina bun combo, bold brows and matte orange lips. You glow, girl!

BEST: Paula Van Oppen

paula van oppen

We have to admit that we had no clue who Van Oppen was but this G.R.L. group member is truly unforgettable with her platinum buzz cut, bronzed skin and long lashes.

WORST: Lundon "Da Bridge" Knighten

lundon da bridge knighten

Now this how NOT to rock a platinum haircut. Between the glued-on rhinestones, extreme eye makeup and burgundy lipstick, we don't know where to look.

WORST: Rita Ora

rita ora

It's pretty obvious that Ora borrowed from Nicole Richie's 2013 Met Gala look. But we are having a hard time understanding exactly why. At least her red lipstick is perfect...

WORST: Elisabeth Moss

elisabeth moss

The "Mad Men" star could have done without the smoky eyeshadow, as it makes her eyes appear bruised and creates a heavy look with her dark hair color.

WORST: Chloe Sevigny

chloe sevigny

Another example of bad eye makeup and really good red lips. Also, where is her other earring?

WORST: Lydia Rose Bright

lydia rose bright

The designer is wearing way too much face makeup and some pretty bad fake eyelashes. And from what we can tell, she's a naturally stunning girl. Less is always more, ladies!

THIS Is How You Know It's Spring In The Fashion World

0

Mother Nature teased us with one sunny day last week in New York City ... just one.

Although we ended the week with a rainy Friday, everyone on Instagram was feeling the warm temperatures. So put away the snow boots and cashmere sweaters, because spring and summer is just around the corner which means sandals, overalls and sundresses. Berries are in season, which go great in your morning cereal, but even better in your frozen yogurt. And there's no outfit a pair of flats and Ray-Ban sunglasses can't complete.

After this long and grueling winter, we deserve two ice cream cones. Scroll down to see all the warm-weather lovin'.

20 Work Bags That Will Always Have Your Back

Think about it. The very first accessory you ever truly loved — the one you dragged your mom from store to store to find -- was the backpack. Whether emblazoned with Hello Kitty or perhaps a "Wizard of Oz" graphic (you can guess what this editor sported), the two-strapped slinger was the simplest way to express your personal style through your adolescent years.

Metallic Pumps, Chunky Scarves And Structured Bags Made Our Accessories Of The Week List

A statement necklace goes perfectly with a LBD, chunky scarves can amp up simple blue jeans and there are few outfits that can't be saved by metallic pumps. Or so we learned looking at Hollywood this week.

We noticed so many stars rocking killer accessories, we decided to round up our favorites from the past couple of days. You may want to take notes, as these ladies really know what they are doing.

Taylor Swift's purse

taylor swift

A structured purse makes any outfit looks instantly pulled together.

Leslie Mann's pumps

man

These polka dot pumps add a little excitement to Mann's otherwise simple look.

Rachel Zoe's necklace

zoe

If there is one thing Rachel Zoe understands, it's statement jewelry. This special gold necklace with a pearl detail really pops against her black dress.

Jourdan Dunn's pumps

dunn

Yes, we know, Dunn hardly needs a boast, but these metallic gold heels are making her legs look even longer.

Vanessa Hudgens' scarf

Big, chunky scarves are the perfect item to help you transition from winter to spring.

Amanda Bynes Posts Bikini Photos During Family Vacation

Amanda Bynes is getting progressively better at Twitter. After turning 28 on April 3, she tweeted a thank you for the birthday wishes alongside two bikini photos.

The pictures were taken in Cabo San Lucas, where she is vacationing with her family.

Bynes is on a break from classes at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she recently enrolled. According to the Daily Mail, she has been living with her parents since December, spending much of her time on her course work (and also drawing self portraits).
