Winona Ryder And Michael Pitt Get Gritty For Rag & Bone

$

By now, we're used to being haunted by Winona Ryder's acting skills. After all, she is responsible for some of our favorite, darkest scenes in movies like "Black Swan" and "Girl, Interrupted."

But in her new womenswear campaign for Rag & Bone, she haunts us in an entirely new way: a slew of gorgeous -- albeit kind of gritty -- photos.

The black-and-white pics show Ryder as well as Michael Pitt, star of the menswear campaign in a series of scenarios around Coney Island. It's a perfect fit for the New York-centric aesthetic that surrounds the Rag & Bone brand. The two actors are both familiar with tapping into their darker side side (Pitt has appeared on the television adaptation of Hannibal, after all,) making them a perfect fit for each ad. "Both actors are unconventional in their own right and indefinably compelling, which really appeals to us," said managing partner of Rag & Bone Marcus Wainwright in a statement.

We're not sure if we like these more than those makeup free ads from 2013, but close.

Blake Lively has some big child-rearing plans in her future.

The actress graces the cover of September's Marie Claire, and opens up about previous claims that she would like to have 30 children with husband Ryan Reynolds.

"I gotta get started," she told the magazine. "If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would."

The 26-year-old, who rose to fame as teenage socialite Serena van der Woodsen on the CW's "Gossip Girl," met Reynolds while co-starring alongside him in the 2011 film "The Green Lantern." The two wed in a secret ceremony back in 2012, and have been happily married ever since.

"We've never gone a week without seeing each other," Lively revealed. "There's no major decision that I make without him. The best part is when we turn off our phones and just talk and hang out. He's my best, best friend. What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing."

Kim Kardashian's Biggest Regret Isn't What You Think It Is

If you thought Kim Kardashian's sex tape would be her biggest regret, well you're definitely underestimating her.

Kardashian knows better than to look a gift horse in the mouth, and she's admitted her on-camera romp with then-boyfriend Ray J, was how she was "introduced to the world." You see, Kardashian actually regrets one of the opportunities that materialized for her simply because she was already famous -- her 2011 song "Jam (Turn It Up)," produced by The Dream.

“It’s definitely a memory and it was a fun experience. We gave the proceeds to a cancer organization," Kardashian told "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen after he played the song on the Aug. 12 episode. "But if there’s one thing in life that I wish I didn’t do ... I don’t like it when people kind of dabble into things they shouldn’t be. And that I don’t think I should have. Like, what gave me the right to think I could be a singer? Like, I don’t have a good voice.”

We won't argue with her assessment -- however -- we will dare to say that the heavily auto-tuned song sounds more like it was sung by human vocal chords than "Teen Mom" turned porn star Farrah Abraham's recent "Blowin," or even Paris Hilton's "Come Alive," which is a track that might actually be Brittany from The Chipettes secretly ghost-singing.

So, it could be worse.

Kelly Cutrone's Blunt Explanation Of Why We'll Always Need Models

Kelly Cutrone is not exactly known for keeping opinions to herself. But for someone who works so closely with aspiring supermodels -- she serves as a judge on "America's Next Top Model" -- her thoughts on why supermodels are necessary are kind of... surprising.

The PR-pro chatted with HuffPost Live about changes the fashion industry has seen over the years. Cutrone believes the magazine and ad industries began shifting away from featuring supermodels in favor of celebrities "in the '70's." But the reason why she thinks those models will never truly be obsolete is interesting:

Do we always need great supermodels? Yes, we do. Why? Because celebrities won't do that much for that little. We can make the supermodel into the actress like Cameron Diaz but do you think Cameron Diaz is going to go shoot for $3,000 in big gowns, with Grace Coddington in Versailles? Probably not.

Well, there you have it, folks. Models exist to take the jobs the celebs don't want. But before you start to feel bad for those beautiful people, Cutrone is quick to let you know that "empathy kills in this industry." Ouch.

'Love Your Lines' Instagram Account Celebrates Stretch Marks As Beautiful, Not 'Flaws'

A new Instagram account, @LoveYourLines, is beautifully celebrating women's stretch marks.

The account was started by two East Coast moms, who asked to remain anonymous. The creators were inspired to feature the stretch marks and other lines on women's bodies after a discussion about how their own bodies had changed after bearing children. They started the Instagram account, put out a call for submissions, and were stunned by the response they got in just one night.

At the time of writing, the creators had received over 70 submissions, both anonymous and identified, with captions detailing each woman's relationship to her stretch marks. One poignant caption featured on the Instagram account reads:
I have not (yet) birthed any children, but my body has changed and stretched causing me to have stretchmarks on various places of my body. They serve as a reminder of the years my legs carried me as I sprinted around the track, and the many times I tried to change myself to fit the mold of what I thought society wanted me to look like...smaller waist...smaller legs...smaller everything...then bigger legs...bigger butt...and so on.

An estimated 80 percent of people have stretchmarks, which are often caused by rapid growth, weight changes or hormonal changes. Pregnancy is often the biggest cause -- leaving moms with "tiger stripes" -- but men aren't unaffected by stretch marks and women who haven't had children get them too.

"I found it interesting that all types of women have stretch marks because I've had them on my thighs since I was a teenager," one of the founders, a 31-year-old wedding and lifestyle photographer, told The Huffington Post over email. "So even though I'm a mom (which gave me a few more) I've been coming to terms with my marks for a long time now. I'm also very thin so looking at me with clothes on, you'd think I had no body issues."

The creators of @LoveYourLines intend to celebrate all women's bodies, regardless of age, weight or if they've had children.

"Even though we are moms, we both had 'stretchies' before having kids and we are aware that women get them for different reasons at different times," the second creator, a 25-year-old entrepreneur, told HuffPost. "Both of us are thrilled to have had such an amazing response in less than 24 hours."

An Ode To Halle Berry's Pixie

We're just going to come right out and say it: Halle Berry's pixie cut is THE best in Hollywood.

Even though the Oscar-winning actress has experimented with different hairstyles and hair lengths over the years, she always looks amazing with her signature short 'do. Berry agrees, telling HuffPost Style in a 2012 interview, "I am my best self when I have super short hair. That’s when I feel most like me and most confidant."

In an industry where long locks seem to be the standard style, Berry's iconic cut makes her stand out from other stars. Plus, the cut's versatility is an added bonus as she's managed to keep her short crop fresh and fun by wearing it spiky and layered, tightly curled or slicked down.

In honor of Halle Berry's 48th birthday, we are giving her props for having the best pixie we've ever laid eyes on.

Fashion Publicist Kelly Cutrone Thinks 'Sex And The City' 'Ruined The World'

"Sex And The City" is widely celebrated for propelling several fashion houses and designers to fame, but notoriously outspoken fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone isn't buying it.

In a HuffPost Live interview on Wednesday, the People's Revolution founder and "America's Next Top Model" judge said she thinks the HBO series has "ruined the world."

"My proof of 'Sex and the City' ruining the world was Fashion's Night Out," she told host Caitlyn Becker. "What was it? Girls in dresses with blowouts sipping Skinny Girl margaritas by Bethenny Frankel. That was Fashion's Night Out, and the reason they stopped it? Go figure, nobody bought clothes!"

The brassy fashion vet also takes issue with the amount of time the "SATC" ladies spent dwelling on their love lives.

"No women who own multimillion dollar companies sit around and talk about Mr. Big for two hours at brunch," she said. "They don't. I have a hundred million girlfriends -- I have no idea what's going on with the guys they hang out with."

A result of "Sex And The City," she expressed, are young adults moving to New York City to chase fashion dreams and winding up "beyond Bushwick."

"It's like, these kids are coming here thinking they're going to live in the West Village near where Sarah Jessica Parker wore a tutu," she added. "That's not the fashion industry."

The Only Dresser Organization Hacks You'll Ever Need

In a perfect world, a dresser would serve as nothing more than the ideal closet alternative or the supplemental clothing storage your bedroom's been waiting for. However, it seems as though reality has dictated that this piece of furniture serve as a way to cover up the fact that you've kept all those old college and band T-shirts and never actually learned the "right" way to fold different pieces of laundry.

But just because it's been that way doesn't mean it has to stay that way. Whether you remove the drawers and throw in some baskets or add a label here and there, finding the calm in the dresser storm is possible.

And these Pinterest-approved organization hacks are a fantastic place to start.

Kim Kardashian Says Motherhood Has Made Her 'Bolder'

NEW YORK (AP) — Recently Kim Kardashian West sent her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, a text because of something she read online.

"I text(ed) Bruce, 'I saw on TMZ that you got pulled over. Are you OK?'" she recalled during a recent interview with The Associated Press. Keeping tabs on one another through blogs and headlines has become normal for a family that's anything but: a mom, stepdad, five daughters, one son, step siblings, assorted spouses, ex-spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends and grandchildren who have become a prominent part of U.S. pop culture since they began putting their lives on display for TV cameras in 2007.

"Sometimes you do have to keep up with each other through what we see," Kardashian West, 33, said of, well, keeping up with the Kardashians.

She's quick to add not everything out there is accurate, so they often check in with each other to find out what's true and what's not in the near-constant stream of rumors in celebrity magazines and blogs.

"We can text each other and find out, 'Wait, were you really here? Did you really do this?'" she said.

Such is life for reality television's first family.

Recently, Kardashian West spoke about baby North, the success of her online game, her upcoming book of selfies and how motherhood has emboldened her. The answers have been edited for clarity and brevity.

The Associated Press: We'll see parts of your wedding in two upcoming "Keeping up With the Kardashians" episodes (airing Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 on E!). What made you decide to share that?

Kardashian West: You won't see our ceremony but you will see everything leading up until the wedding, even right as I'm walking out the door in my wedding dress. Just those really special moments of taking everyone to Paris and having our welcome dinner in Versailles to flying to Florence, Italy, where our wedding was. It's all shot by family and friends on iPhones and digital cameras. ... We shared what we wanted to and we kept things private but I think the viewers are really going to feel how intimate our wedding was. ... There were only 150 people there.

AP: Has motherhood made you bolder? You seem to speak up more when something bothers you.

Kardashian West: Yeah, I think so. I think when you have a baby there's like no time for any like (expletive). Excuse my language. You don't have time for it and sometimes I see things and I'm like, 'I'm not gonna let that slide. This person was wrong.' Or whatever I'm feeling I speak my mind a little bit more after I've had our daughter. I don't know if it's a combination of being married to someone that's superhonest and open and says whatever he wants whenever he wants to or just not having time really for anything else but the truth and just being real.

AP: Has North started talking? Did she say mama or dada first?

Kardashian West: She's been saying daddy and dada for a really long time, since she was 7 months. She says mama. She said it the night before Mother's Day, but she doesn't say it too much.

AP: Let's talk about the success of your online game.

Kardashian West: I always wanted to get into some form of a video game whether it was an app, just trying to figure something out and a company came to me with a great idea and we bounced ideas off each other and we came up with this really fun concept. I am really surprised at how well it's done and it's motivated me to want to, you know, just continue into the tech world a little bit.

AP: You recently announced you'll release a book of your selfie photos called "Selfish." Can you quantify how many selfies you take in one day?

Kardashian West: I go weeks without taking them. It depends. If I have good hair and makeup, I'm in the mood. If I wake up and it's a cute ... it just depends. But there have been times where I've gone weeks without taking selfies.

AP: After 19 seasons of "Keeping up With the Kardashians" and the nine family spinoffs, you must view the crew as family.

Kardashian West: They've been with us every moment from pregnancies to births to celebrations to sad times and it's really satisfying. Our lighting guy Landon handed me a keychain as a gift with a note and the note said, 'This is a keychain for you because you helped provide me with a set of keys to my new home that I just bought because I've worked with you for a decade.'... You sit back and realize you're employing people and it makes you feel proud of what you're doing.

North West Proves 'It's Never Too Early To Care About Fashion' In CR Fashion Book

It's official: We're jealous of a 13-month-old's style.

North West makes her modeling debut in the newest issue of CR Fashion Book, and in a twist that surprises absolutely no one (her mom is the queen of selfies, after all) she already knows exactly how to work the camera.

Wearing head-to-toe Chanel, including the cutest -- and likely most expensive -- baby purse we've ever seen, North is a total natural. And whether you love the Kardashian-West's or hate them, one thing is for sure: they have one super-cute, super-stylish little girl.

baby north

Of course, no photo shoot featuring the famous tot would be complete without a quote from Karl Lagerfeld himself, which reads "it's never too early to care about fashion."

We're going to go ahead and disagree with you there, Uncle Karl. Even though baby Nori already has a stylist, we can't imagine she didn't also slobber all over that lovely outfit. Although, when Carine Roitfeld is your "nanny" and you already have a dream wardrobe, we guess she's on the right track.

A Month-Long Journey Without Traditional Deodorant

$

I've smelled my worst during the hottest days of the summer... and I kind of liked it.

I decided in the midst of a rainy Fourth of July barbecue that I would no longer use my deodorant. I understand that sounds like the weirdest time to think about the state of my armpits, but sure enough I was Dove-free the next day.

But, let me rewind to a few weeks before the holiday, in which a pile of natural deodorants landed on my desk. I skeptically took them in, and they sat around before I considered using them. I chose the one that seemed the most delightful -- Schmidt's lavender and sage -- and on July 5th, I took underarm matters into my own hands. Literally.

What Is It?

Unlike traditional antiperspirants, natural deodorants are usually made without aluminum, parabens and phthalates, which are ingredients that can be found in your common stick of deo. Some reports have claimed that these ingredients increase the risk of breast cancer, but a study by the National Cancer Institute found the link between the two to be inconclusive.

Personally, I wanted my armpits to breathe a little bit this summer, considering my sweat glands have been clogged up with product for as long as I can remember.

How I Did It

Just because it's natural, doesn't mean it's easier to apply than the standard deodorant. The product I tried comes in a jar, so I had to use my DIY scoop, which is actually the other end of a broken makeup brush. The consistency reminded me of feta cheese.

Some days were good, some days were stinkingly bad. When I say I sweat, I mean I sweeaaaaat. It became important to give my pits some ventilation throughout my waking hours.

After weeks of hearing "don't sit by Chanel, she's not using deodorant," I got over it and frankly didn't give a hoot what people said. I got innovative; if I knew it was going to be an extra sweaty day, I added two spritzes of my favorite scents to each pit. I also came up with one of my new mantras: never, EVER apply lavender and sage to the skin directly after shaving. EVER. Burns have never felt so raw..

natural deo updated

Rating: 4 out of 5. I certainly wasn't expecting the world to change with this product. While it wasn't a stick of regular deo for sure, it did do pretty well against my extremely sweaty body. In fact, I'm going to continue to use Schmidt's; I'm trying their cedarwood + juniper for fall!

Schmidt's provided samples of their Schmidt's Natural Deodorant for review purposes.

Kelly Cutrone Further Reinforces The Belief That 'The Hills' Was Scripted

Viewers of "The Hills" have been debating whether or not the MTV reality series was scripted ever since it first premiered. Surprisingly, years after its 2010 finale and in spite of several outward remarks from cast members, the answer is still nebulous.

Fashion publicist and semi-notorious truth-teller Kelly Cutrone shed some light on this existential question in a HuffPost Live interview on Wednesday when a commenter came forth and asked if MTV "forced" her to "hire those girls from that 'Laguna Beach' TV show," referring to the series that spun off to become "The Hills."

"Well...yes," the 48-year-old "America's Next Top Model" judge retorted, without ambivalence.

"They didn't force me," she laughed, "but they hired me to be on that show, and the other people they hired to be on the show were those girls from that 'Laguna Beach' show."

While she noticeably didn't mention Lauren Conrad, she said that to this day she still "loves" Whitney and Audrina. And that for those who are interested in watching an actual reality show, her 2010 Bravo TV series "Kell On Earth" fits the bill.

"'Kell On Earth'.. was actually really real," she said, although they "didn't make the show" she wanted to make.

"It was really more the producers than me," she added. "They wanted to talk about the printer being broken all day."

Krickitt And Kim Carpenter, Couple Who Inspired 'The Vow,' Talk About Love That Endures (VIDEO)

$

Krickitt Carpenter has been married to her husband, Kim, for two decades, but she has absolutely no recollection of their 1993 wedding. That's because less than 10 weeks after saying "I do," the newlyweds were in a near-fatal car accident that left Krickitt in a coma, fighting for her life.

Twenty-one days later, Krickitt awoke with severe amnesia. She didn't recognize anything around her, not even her husband.

"I lost about a two-year period," Krickitt told Oprah back in 1996. "I was in diapers, and they hand-fed me, and they had to teach me how to walk and talk again."

Through it all, Kim stuck by her side. "I made that promise before the Lord," he said. "You make that promise, you keep the promise. If you're going to say something, act on your word. Be a man or woman of your word."

If this love story sounds familiar, it's because Krickitt and Kim were the inspiration behind the 2012 hit movie "The Vow" starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.

Today, the couple is still together and have two children. "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" caught up with the family in their home in New Mexico. "Our son Danny is 14 and our daughter LeAnn is 11, and they really are the blessings of keeping our vows," Krickitt says. "They're the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, as we like to refer to them."

It's been 20 years since Krickitt's accident, and she still has no memory of the two-year period surrounding that time. "Now as far as my personality goes, early on my personality was changed about thirty to forty percent," she says. "But I would say it's much closer to what the old Krickitt use to be like."

"Her personality is definitely evolved and I'll catch a glimpse every now and then of something that she'll do that reminds me of the old Krickitt," Kim says.

Since Krickitt has no recollection of her first wedding, she and Kim decided to say their vows for a second time. "It was exciting that I actually got to put a memory to marrying Kim and that it wasn't just a story," Krickitt says. "And I was real excited for my dad to walk me down the aisle, and wear my wedding dress. That was really important for me so that I knew I was actually married."

People had been telling Krickitt and Kim for years that their saga would be perfect for the big screen, but Kim says it was still shocking to get a call from Hollywood about "The Vow." "[We] got to meet Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, got to spend some time with them on the set and just had an outstanding experience with them," he says.

"It was awesome that they choose Rachel and Channing because they portrayed our parts perfectly," Krickitt says.

To get their characters just right, the actors studied Krickitt and Kim's past interviews to learn their mannerisms. "In fact, Channing made a comment to me that he feels like he's known me a long time, just watching us on various interviews," Kim says.

Since the accident, Krickitt says the biggest thing she's learned is to stop sweating the small stuff. "Little things that happen in life just aren't as big as what I think they used to be or what they would have been prior to our car accident," she says. "I have a different perspective on life."

"Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.

You'll Never Forget To Wear Sunscreen After Seeing This

If you find yourself at the beach opting for a tan over sunscreen, you might want to reconsider your priorities.

Writer and portrait artist Thomas Leveritt took to the streets with an ultraviolet camera to reveal people's sun damage under his special lens. The camera shows the not-yet-visible effects the sun has on skin.

You may not think you have any freckles.

But the UV camera may reveal you have more than you think.

Because the sun sees you differently.

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation can cause many negative effects on the skin, including an uneven amount of melanin production, dilation of blood vessels, liver spots, wrinkles and, of course, skin cancer.

The video notes that pretty much everyone is born with good skin but mentions skin can age at different speeds. Coverage is vital in order to keep skin healthy and slow the aging process.

This is what sunscreen coverage looks like. (The black marks show where the sunscreen has been applied.)

Welp, lesson learned: Wear sunscreen.

Chuck Todd 2.0? Inside The Subtle Style Makeover Of NBC's New Sunday Savior

$

It's a good day to be Chuck Todd. The NBC stalwart was just named the new host of "Meet the Press."

For Todd, it's the promotion of a lifetime. The legendary Tim Russert brought Todd to NBC News in 2007, and Todd now steps into his mentor's role.

We had many thoughts about, like, serious stuff when we found out that Todd was taking on this new challenge. But we also had many thoughts about Chuck Todd, Fashion Man, because we've been noticing some changes to his whole "style thing" over the past few months. If we were conspiracy-minded gossip-hounds, we'd say that Todd has been eyeing the coveted "MTP" chair and has upped his fashion game accordingly. And since we basically ARE conspiracy-minded gossip-hounds, we'll just leave that there.

First, though, A Look Back. Todd wasn't always the goateed griller we know today. C-SPAN tweeted this vintage shot from way back in 1997 earlier this week, following reports about Todd's new role. (That hairless chin! That head of hair! Etc!) HuffPost style guru Rebecca Shapiro opines, "Looks at those spectacles!"

By 2007, he was basically the Todd we recognize today. The glasses were out, and the famed goatee was in. (Shapiro, however, dislikes the suit, which she described as "dull.")

chuck todd

And there things stayed...until the past few months, that is.

The host has slimmed down lately. The photo on the left was taken in February and the one on the right in June. Looking good Chuck!

chuck todd

Let's take a closer look at Todd throughout the past few months. Here he was last fall.

Fast forward to May.

Todd looked more trim and tanned this summer, compared to several months ago. Here are screenshots from "The Daily Rundown" in July and August, respectively. Also we've noticed some definite goatee-scaping — everything's more nice and neat. Says Shapiro, "it's less 'reporter on the run' and more 'anchor fancypants.'"
