Happy 80th Birthday Sophia Loren! The Sexy Star's Greatest Moments On Film

She's grace and style personified. Born 80 years ago today, on Sept. 20, 1934, Sophia Loren still stuns on the red carpet with her perfect posture, dancer's walk and tight-fitting clothes.

To mark her milestone birthday, the bombshell beauty has recently penned her memoirs -- "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" will be published in December -- in which we learn how the voluptuous Italian icon went from abject poverty to international fame and fortune.

Although Loren started making movies in the early 1950s, her commercial breakthrough came in 1960 with the romantic comedy "It Started In Naples" alongside Clark Gable.

Loren, who now lives in Geneva, has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Grammy and a BAFTA Award. Her last Oscar nomination came in 1964 for "Marriage Italian-Style," four years after she took home Best Actress for "Two Women." Loren is also well-known for her quick wit; one of her most famous quotes was in response to compliments about her sumptuous figure: ""Everything you see, I owe to spaghetti."

The great love of her life was Italian producer Carlo Ponti, who discovered a teenage Sophia Loren. He died in 2007 at the age of 94.

In celebration of Loren's 80th birthday, we take a look back in the video above at some of Loren's most memorable moments on screen. Happy birthday to this enduring sex symbol -- one who's always done her own hair and nails. May she continue to dazzle the world with her brains and beauty.

The Suitsy Is Every Man's Dream Come True, But We Have One Very Important Question

$

There are certain men who understand the importance of good style. But for the vast majority, however, putting in tons of effort to look fashionable isn't exactly a top priority. Well, thanks to the Suitsy, those men no longer have an excuse.

The Suitsy is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a one-piece suit. Thanks to a zipper and some fake sleeves, Suitsy enthusiasts are able to create the illusion that they are wearing an entire suit without the hassle of, you know, putting an outfit together. It's currently featured on BetaBrand, a website creator Jesse Herzog calls the "Kickstarter for clothes," where users can vote the creation into production.

HuffPost Style chatted with Herzog about the inspiration for the suit and, of course, the whole matter of going to the bathroom.

On what inspired the Suitsy:

"I wanted something that was professional-looking, but more comfortable. I have this extremely comfortable suit that I wear in the summer and I kind of felt like I could make it one step easier by just connecting everything."

suitsy
Suitsy creator Jesse Herzog, wearing a Suitsy.

On how to care for a Suitsy:

"It's made of all cotton. The pants and jacket are heavier to give it a little structure, and the shirt is a standard cotton material. I would just take it to the dry cleaner. My hope is to at some point refine it with a stain-free and wrinkle-resistant fabric."

On the biggest advantage the Suitsy has over a traditional suit:

"Comfort. That's the best thing. Everyone who sees me wearing it thinks I'm in a normal suit but to me it feels way more comfortable than that.

On how the ladies feel about it:

"Ladies LOVE it. They all want me to make a female version, but that's not fair because women already have onesies!"

suitsy

On the future of Suitsy:

We've talked about the potential to add booties that are already connected. If you really want to class it up you'll just clip on a bow-tie and you're ready to rock. You could sleep in it! You can do anything in it.

On whether or not the Suitsy is "fashionable:"

"Some people are like, 'This is so anti-fashion. This is a testament to how little people care.' My point is that for guys that don't care, maybe this will encourage them to try to look a little bit more presentable because it makes achieving that so much easier."

suitsy 2

And of course, the answer to our burning question: what about using the bathroom?

"Jumpsuits have been around forever -- mechanics wear them; pilots wear them. I have found it surprisingly easy to... execute."

The Suitsy still needs more votes to go into production, but you can learn about it here.

All hail T.Swift, queen of the crop top.

Taylor Swift turned heads on the red carpet at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday. The "Shake It Off" singer stole the show before it even started in a little white crop top and form-fitting red skirt:

And Swift's time in the spotlight didn't end there. The 24-year-old wowed again in a bejeweled pink crop top and matching skirt to perform a five-song set that included, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "22," "I Knew You Were Trouble," "Love Story" and--of course--"Shake It Off."

After the show, Swift took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the evening, including a video of her performance:

Kim Kardashian's Alleged Nude Photos Leak Online, Many More Celebs Targeted In Hacking Ring (UPDATE)

Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens and U.S. soccer goalie Hope Solo appear to be the latest victims of the celebrity nude photo hacking ring.

Early Saturday morning alleged nude photos of the stars leaked on 4chan and started trending on Twitter. According to Uproxx, the photos were quickly removed as part of 4chan's new policy on copyright infringement.

This latest leak is likely the work of the same hackers who released nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Victoria Justice, and an underage McKayla Maroney that the FBI is already investigating.

Hudgens, sadly, is no stranger to having her privacy grossly invaded. If these are in fact photos of the 25-year-old actress, this will mark the third time nude photos of Hudgens have been released to the public without her consent.

Meanwhile, a rep for Kardashian declined to comment, but the 33-year-old reality star weighed in on the hackings earlier this month. "I think it's a wake-up call for people to make sure they have every privacy setting," she told BBC Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw. "It seems like there are a lot of people that love to spend their time hacking peoples' information and that's just a scary thing."

Request for comment made to Hudgens' rep has yet to be returned at this time.

UPDATE: More stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence and "Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco were released on Saturday along with alleged photos of Avril Lavigne, Lake Bell, former Disney stars Aly and AJ Michalka, as well as Mary-Kate Olsen, Aubrey Plaza, Gabrielle Union, Emily Ratajkowski and Hayden Panettiere.

And predictably, a new iteration of "The Fappening" has already sprung up on Reddit with this new trove of stolen photos, despite the fact the previous subreddit dedicated to the hacked celebrity images was banned by the site.

the fappening

Request for comment made to multiple reps have yet to be returned at this time. Reps for Reddit did not immediately return request for comment made by HuffPost Entertainment.

UPDATE 2: Actress Gabrielle Union has confirmed she's one of the latest victims of the celebrity photo hacking ring, and her lawyers will be contacting the FBI.

"It has come to our attention that our private moments, that were shared and deleted solely between my husband and myself, have been leaked by some vultures," Union and her husband Dwayne Wade said in a joint statement to TMZ. "I can’t help but to be reminded that since the dawn of time women and children, specifically women of color, have been victimized, and the power over their own bodies taken from them. These atrocities against women and children continue worldwide."

The couple added, "For anyone out there also being affected by these and other hacking and hate crimes - We send our love, support and prayers. We have done nothing wrong."

We found a solution to get the pills off of your sweaters so you can wash them normally and wear them for multiple fall and winter seasons instead of just one.

Kate Bosworth Gives Pale Girls A Lesson On How To Wear Bright Red Lipstick

If you thought being fair-skinned meant that you can't pull off bright red lipstick, here's proof that you CAN.

Kate Bosworth made a bold appearance at the "Still Alice" premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival with a matching red lips and dress look. The shocking shade popped against the actress' milky complexion and balanced out her sleek, blonde hairdo. Subtle bronzer was key to help add warmth to her skin.

Check out Bosworth's beautiful red lipstick below and see which other celebs made our best and worst beauty list this week.

WORST: Bella Thorne

The Ridiculously Easy Guide To The Summer-To-Fall Closet Changeover

$
0
0
You might still be in denial that fall is upon us, but your wardrobe can't be. Cooler weather means that you at least need to start layering. And layering involves getting your bin of fall clothes out from the depths of your home and into your closet again. Unless you live in a truly unusual climate that deems year-round access to summer, fall and winter clothing necessary, this means you'll also have to put your summer clothes away.

Which is a massive pain in the you-know-what.

If you put it off now, you're only going to spend the season yelling at yourself every time you try to deal with an overstuffed closet. Instead, just do it. We've outlined a simplified, no-brain-needed guide to the wardrobe changeover that will at least calm you down.

This method assumes that you're dealing with a closet, and have room underneath your bed to store items. We're also going with classic supplies: under-the-bed bins. You're welcome to apply your own method here -- the advice can still apply -- but we're gearing this discussion towards those of us who have a tendency to put off what is essentially a simple home chore.

You'll need: A few garbage bags, a hamper, under-the-bed storage boxes and hangers.

First, start with your summer clothes.

Clean all your clothes one more time. Any trace of perspiration, skin oils or stains can end up damaging the clothing item over time. (Just don't make any of these common laundry mistakes.) Also do a quick check on summer shoes.
laundry hamper

Weed through your clothes. Anything that's too old, too tight or in terrible shape goes in a trash bag to donate later. Don't waste precious storage box space on something that isn't worth your time. Be ruthless.
summer clothes closet

Keep any pieces you can still wear in the fall, such as: lightweight blazers, jackets and cardigans. You know your area's climate best. Hang these in your closet (except for cardigans, which should be rolled to preserve their shape).

Now, it's time to put all those clean, dry summer clothes away.

Rolling vs. folding. We prefer the rolling technique (particularly when it comes to knit fabrics), because it lets us fit more in our storage bins. Watch the video below for a demo on how to do the "military roll" technique.

Organize like with like. T-shirts go with t-shirts, dresses go with dresses and so on.
tee shirts pile

Keep a little bit of space at the top. You don't want to fill the storage bins all the way to the lid line. Leaving an inch or so will let your clothing breathe.

Now, for your fall clothing...

Take all clothing out of storage to let it air out. Check garments for stains and spots that you missed last year.

Weed through any clothing that you'd rather not wear this season. These go immediately into a trash bag or box to be donated.
clothing donation bag

Send any heavy jackets and coats to be dry-cleaned, if need be. Wash and dry the remaining clothes to get rid of that "plastic" storage smell.

Hang fall clothes, organizing by type.

And now you're done.

"Little People, Big World" Star Jeremy Roloff married longtime girlfriend Audrey Mirabella Botti on Saturday at Roloff Farms in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Roloff and Botti provided some instructions for their guests to prepare for the event: "Wear shoes capable to walk on gravel, grass and dirt. This is a farm wedding. Bring a coat for a potential wind chill, and maybe an umbrella because Oregon is an awesome state and does what it wants."

Roloff sported a suit tailored by Maxamillion, while Botti's dress was designed by Lauren Graebner, E! News reports.

"January 16th, 2010 I met Audrey," Roloff wrote on Instagram this past March, announcing his engagement to Botti. "January 17th, 2010, I was in love. August 15th, 2011 asked her out. March 15th, 2014 I asked this beautiful girl to be mine, and she said yes. Drowning in grace."

Botti posted a photo of her and Roloff the day before the wedding, writing, "Tomorrow I get to marry him, here. ONE MORE SLEEP!!!!"

John Oliver Explains Everything That's Wrong With The Miss America Pageant

If you want to see everything that's wrong with the Miss America pageant summed up as brilliantly as possible, click on the "play" button and let John Oliver take you through the inexplicable ventriloquism, the ridiculously complex questions and even the butt glue.

But the worst part is the pageant's claim that it's the world's largest provider of scholarships for women.

"If it's actually true that Miss America is the world's largest provider of scholarships for women, that's a little bit weird because Miss America does not offer scholarships to all women," Oliver said on HBO's "Last Week Tonight" on Sunday. "Only those who compete in those pageants."

To compete in the pageant, each woman has to certify that she's never been married and never been pregnant.

"Which of course makes sense," Oliver pointed out. "Miss America is supposed to be a role model for children. How can she be that if she's got a child in tow who's constantly looking up to her?"

The organization claims to provide $45 million annually in scholarships for women, but Oliver learned that they don't even come close to reaching that number. And yet, the Miss America pageant really is the world's largest provider of scholarships for women.

So how can we fix that?

Oliver has a few ideas, which you can see in the clip above.

Today (Monday) we celebrate rockstar Joan Jett's 56th birthday! As her time in The Runaways and her solo career show, she's always been into leather, heavy eye makeup and, despite a few departures, the same haircut for decades.

Not only does she actually pull off this mullet-like, piece-y style, she's worn it from short to long, slicked-down to teased. And although this cut might not work for just anyone, Jett flaunts it along with her overall bad ass vibe.

Here are some photos from then and now that show why we'll always love Joan Jett... and rock 'n roll.

Elle Fanning is a brunette.

The 16-year-old actress debuted darker locks and a blunt, shorter cut Sunday at the premiere of "The Boxtrolls" at the Universal CityWalk in Hollywood. Fanning dyed her blond hair brown for an upcoming movie role, according to E! News, and is still getting used to which clothing hues work best with her new look.

For the premiere, Fanning chose a two-piece black ensemble by Oscar de la Renta.

In June, the star told Teen Vogue that her beauty regimen is laid-back.

"I just feel like it's better, looking fresh," she said. "It's also sexier not wearing any makeup at all. Like, honestly, if you talk to guys, they'll all think that."

Designer Cynthia Rowley Thinks There's 'Never Been A Better Time' To Start A Fashion Line

Few career paths carry as much risk as being a fashion designer, but thanks to the growing e-commerce landscape, women's wear designer Cynthia Rowley thinks today's age is ripe with opportunity.

"Fashion as an industry has changed so much since I started," she told HuffPost Live's Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani in an interview on Friday. "Just to be able to sell online at this time is a crazy thing. At this time, there has never been a better time to start a business or make clothes. It's virtually risk-free."

The digital marketplace offers plenty of outlets for designers to sell their goods, Rowley explained, making success more attainable.

"You can make something. you can put it out there and you'll have a conversation, and you can tell your story and start something," she said. "I mean, it's never been easier, and that didn't exist when I started."
