5 Reasons To Be Thrilled Joe Fresh's New Senior Vice President Used To Work For Céline

0
0
Céline collections may confuse at times, but there's no denying their usual epic level of chicness. So when news broke that the crowd favorite, Joe Fresh, found its new Senior Vice President in Henriette Ernst, who previously lent her talents to Céline, there was a collective jump for joy.

Ernst told Women's Wear Daily it's too soon to say what her influence will be, but acknowledges something everyone can get on board with -- comfort is key. "I really like good, comfortable, casual clothes with beautiful elevated colors and perfect fit," she told the site.

But if you still need some convincing that this is truly a big, exciting move for the Canadian label, here are five looks from Céline's Spring 2015 collection that we hope serve as Ernst's inspiration in her new position.

Two Women Hilariously Remind Us What Feminists Really Want For Christmas

0
0
We just found the song of the holiday season -- and it's got the perfect mix of Christmas cheer and patriarchy-smashing.

The Doubleclicks, described as a "nerd-pop-folk sister duo from Portland, Oregon" on their YouTube page, wrote "Sexist Bullshit (Christmas Song)" to remind everyone what feminists really want this holiday season.

These two feminists don't want iPads, jet packs or even hover boards, as The Doubleclicks croon in the song, they want something so much more: "The ability to make sexist assholes disappear, is all I want for Christmas -- it's all I want this year!" If we could get the iPads, jet packs and a magic weapon to launch the demise of the patriarchy, that would be ideal. (That's what the eight nights of Hanukkah are for, right?)

Sing on ladies! We'll be humming this tune all the way into the New Year.

12 Gifts For Dad, The Most Impossible Person On Your Holiday Shopping List

0
0
Here's something you didn't know: The holidays are here, and that means finding gifts for everyone on your list. Mom, siblings, significant other and the cousin's husband's child from a previous marriage whom you drew in the extended family's Secret Santa exchange. And dear old Dad.

According to a study, no one likes shopping for dads. Aww. That's because it's impossible, though. We love our fathers, of course, but what do you get the man who probably wants nothing but peace and quiet?

We've got 12 awesome gifts that science guarantees* he'll love this holiday season!

Something techy: Hands-free iPad stand
$84.99

ipad thing

Invented by NASA so that astronauts might be able to stay up-to-date on RHOA while exploring the last frontier, this platinum-hued gooseneck stand lets you use your iPad without the burden of holding your iPad. This has actually been our dream since we were seven years old lying awake in bed envisioning a TV suspended from the ceiling. And everyone knows how Dad loves a good lounge sesh. Park this stand right next to his recliner in the den and he can doze off under his favorite Clint Eastwood performance.

Something for naps: Poop emoji pillow
$10.98

poop emoji pillow

Nothing shows Dad how much you respect both his tech savvy and refined bathroom humor like this pillow, shaped like a smiling turd. "Extremely soft and comfortable," according to the listing, this, the most enigmatic of all the emojis, will make an excellent nap companion for literally any father on the planet.

Something outdoorsy: Car-crushing tank experience
$499

tank crushing car

"Why just drive a tank when you can crush cars with one?" the website of Tank Town USA wonders. If we only had a dollar for every time we heard that. Founded as a treatment center for men suffering from testosterone poisoning, Tank Town is located on the side of a freeway, billing itself as the number one thing to do in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Here, Dad can live out his recurring dream of smashing up a rusted out '92 Ford Taurus. A similar establishment near Minneapolis will let you tank-smash cars, too.

Something to drink: Moonshine
Varies

moonshine

Legal moonshine (surprisingly not an oxymoron) has been on the up and up for a few years now. Invented by John D. Rockefeller during one particularly constructive night of sleepwalking, moonshine once enjoyed intense popularity among the fashionable elite. But these days, everyone can try some. This one is "almost vanilla-y" and "not too hot," according to people in our office.

Something for golf: Floating golf hole
$114-$589

golf green

Here's the perfect thing for a dad who loves golf! Created by a tax-evading multi-millionaire on the yacht where he's spent 10 years living in international waters, this floating piece of golf course comes in five different sizes. Combine them for a crazy aquatic golf adventure that will delight swimmers with high-velocity plastic balls.

Something for work: Label maker
$16.18

label maker

Fun fact: If you gift your father a label maker, something like this will happen. Then you can take pictures and post them to the Internet, where one day they may appear on BuzzFeed.

Honestly, we’re not sure why anyone might actually need a label maker aside from the express purpose of recreating a kindergarten classroom at home. You really need to label some drawers with their contents? How about you just, you know, open the drawer and find out?

Something for bed: Unicorn onesie
$62.30

unicorn onesiee

PROVEN SUCCESSFUL DAD GIFT, where n=1. Designed for children but enjoyed by all, onesies are always a great gift because no one has ever bought one for themselves in the history of time. Onesies solve all the problems a person faces when trying to decide which oversized shirt to pair with which pair of sweatpants. They are universally adored.

Something he actually asked for

It’s just a suggestion. Maybe you don’t think gardening gloves make for an exciting gift, but maybe Dad had the same thoughts about the platform sneakers you wanted last year. May-be.

Something Mom wouldn't approve: Pizza cone maker
$21.99

pizza cone

Dads are nothing if not trendy, and there’s nothing hotter right now than snackwave. Classic junk foods are in. Eat them in public; eat them with pride! If you laugh at all his jokes, there's a good chance Dad will whip up a horribly caloric abomination of bastardized Italian food for you, too. Biting into the molten cheese will definitely scald a layer of skin off the mouth of anyone brave and foolish enough to eat one of these, but here is a pizza-lover's Everest.

Pro tip: Make colossal ice cream cones for dessert!

Something fun: Remote-controlled flying shark
$28.30

flying shark

For those who can't afford a fancy new remote-controlled helicopter drone this holiday season, there is this. It allows Dad to recreate Sharknado in the living room and terrify the dog at the same time. With a bit of helium and AAA batteries (always remember the batteries!) the shark can be re-inflated again and again, until the dog decides the house isn't big enough for two razor-toothed beasts.

Something for puttering: Bear feet slippers
$20.99
bear feet

LOL PUNS.

Wildcard: Man bowl
$24.99

man bowl

Is your dad actually a labrador retriever? If so, we've got the perfect thing to make him feel like he's part of the family while you sneak him people food from your plate while Mom isn’t looking.

*This is a lie.

39 Of The Country's Greatest Dancers Explain Why They Dance

0
0
"To dance is to be out of yourself," Agnes de Mille famously proclaimed. "Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking." Although the iconic 20th century dancer and choreographer makes it look easy, it can be difficult to accurately put the allure of dance into words. By nature, dance is a wordless form of expression, translating emotions and thoughts into physical movements. But we wondered, is there a way to explain why we dance?

We turned to some of the world's most talented ballet figures -- and few aspiring ones too -- to find the answer. Dancers from across the country -- from the American Ballet Theatre to Ballet San Jose, the Kansas City Ballet to the Dance Theatre of Harlem, the Nashville Ballet to Abraham.In.Motion, the San Francisco Ballet to a children's studio in Hawaii -- sent us their reasons for taking the stage. We compiled their responses in a campaign, aptly titled #WhyIDance.

whyidance

The campaign is simple. Inspired by dance programs around the world like South Africa's Dansazania project and Brazil's House of Dreams, we asked dancers to complete the sentence "I dance because ..." Each participant wrote his or her response on a piece of paper and posed for a camera holding each proud statement: "I dance because it brings me joy, strength, and life!" said Misty Copeland; "I love sharing a piece of my soul with the world through movement," said Kayla Rowser; "I dance because I like to challenge my body to the limit," said Diego Cruz.

Together the portraits tell a visual story of the power of dance in the 21st century. Take a look at the entire #WhyIDance portrait collection:

The WineFashionista Guide to the Best Wine Holiday Gifts

0
0
'Tis the season and time for holiday gift recommendations.  What to get the wine lover in your life?  Not the same old, same old.  I've been looking all year for the coolest, most unique - and yes, stylish presents for you to give -- and a few you might want to keep for yourself!  Cheers and happy holidays.

Chill Out.  Forget chilling a whole bottle of wine, go by the glass. Keep the Napa Wine Chiller, a shiny silver sphere, aka "balls of steel" in the freezer until you're ready to pour a glass or two of wine.  Takes about 2 minutes or so to completely chill one glass of wine, and it works for at least two glasses.

napa7

Does not hit your mouth when you sip.  When you're done, rinse, dry and refreeze.  Tip:  really only works with wide mouth glasses and bigger glasses that allow you to swirl even with the chiller in it. Bonus:  15% of proceeds are donated towards research on testicular cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center. $30.

Art from the Vineyard.  San Francisco-based sculpture artist Agelio Batle takes his cues from nature and his handcrafted sculptures are a fusion of form and function.  In a collaboration with Robert Mondavi Winery, Batle created the limited edition "To Kalon Vine in Graphite," inspired by one of the most famous vineyards in Napa Valley, the To Kalon Vineyard.

photo_toKalonGraphite_3

In fact, a bit of To Kalon is within the vine sculpture -- Batle took ashes from discarded vines found in the vineyard and mixed that into the graphite material. To Kalon is carved into the top, making this a one of a kind sculptural object that you can display (think paperweight) or use to write with.  Write with?  Yes, that's right, you can actually write with this art piece thanks to the graphite composition. $38.

Wine Bottle Jewelry.  I've seen lots of jewelry made from wine bottles, but the pieces from reVetro are the most beautiful I've ever seen, and I am picky when it comes to jewelry.  Kelly and Leslie Tiano, a daughter and mother-in-law team from San Diego are creating eco-friendly baubles combining metal and recycled glass that you'll want to collect.

There's a gorgeous lariat with three glass rings, matte and polished green Champagne bottle bangles, rings, earrings and a very cool wrap cuff.

For the stocking stuffers there are also Christmas tree ornaments.  Or you can splurge on the wind chime made of wine bottle glass rings.  You can find a lot to choose from in the price range of $9 to $30, with other items costing a bit more.

For the Food and Wine Lover.  One of the most gorgeous cookbooks out this year comes from Stone Edge Farm, which is in Sonoma Valley.  Stone Edge is more than a farm -- it's also a vineyard with a wine label and home chef John McReynolds, who helmed the kitchen at the acclaimed Cafe La Haye in Sonoma.

Now he's the culinary director at Stone Farm and also teaches, writes and forages.  He works with an impressive team to bring you a visually stunning cookbook with mouthwatering recipes you'll want to cook right away.

Image 2_2 Photo by Leslie Lindell

The Cellar Collection Gift Box $125 makes a nice set - with the Stone Edge Farm Cookbook and a bottle of 2010 Stone Edge Vineyard "Surround" Bordeaux blend made by winemaker Jeff Baker, with 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 1% Malbec.  It is rich and full-bodied with black fruits, baking spices, black tea and leather notes.  A great wine to sip while cooking one of McReynold's dishes.  You can also splurge a bit on the Connoisseur's Collection Gift Box with a bottle of the 2010 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon for $175.

Stocking Stuffer.  There are all sorts of fancy bottle stoppers out there, but I found the coolest one this year. Designed to look like a cork bung (the rubber stopper on a barrel of wine), Capabunga reusable bottle caps are a sleek, easy way to seal an opened bottle of wine.

DSC01773 (1)

Bonus - the bottle doesn't leak if you lay it on its side in the fridge or in a wine rack.  And they even make Capabunga Bubbles to fit over sparkling wine bottles.  Affordable enough to buy multiples.  Two packs start at $7.95.

For Animal Lovers.  Instead of a boring wine aerator, Menagerie makes a collection of animal wine pourers that are as fun as they are functional.  Choose from every type of animal from cats and dogs of course to alligators and sharks. Made from stainless steel with silicon rubber fitting.  $29 each.

Wearable Barrel Art.  Olive and Poppy is the brainchild of Napa residents and friends Anne Siegel and Nicole Hughes, who have found a new and stylish way to re-purpose oak wine barrels.  They create beautiful bangles using French oak from barrels that have aged Napa Valley Cabernet.  Talk about terroir.  The bangles are hexagon-shaped and pieces of oak staves alternate with white, pink or green Lucite.

The oak has a beautiful wine colored stain.  You'll also find other wine inspired pieces, including the Terroir necklace, with an oval pendant with wine appellation maps, a Cheers pendant necklace, oak barrel stud earrings and oak barrel shirt cuffs.  Look for tote bags and scarves coming soon.

barrel bracelet

The Shirt on Your Back. Here's another way to wear wine (without spilling it on yourself).  Crawford Denim, a Los Angeles-based small batch denim brand teamed up with Robert Mondavi Private Reserve wines to craft a truly unique denim shirt - the Vintner Shirt.  Red wine from bottles of Robert Mondavi Private Reserve Heritage Blend are used to dye the bandana print on sleeve cuffs, inside the collar and under pocket flaps.

mondavi demin shirt

The denim shirts also feature pearl snaps and peaking out the top of the left pocket there's an oak washer accent made from the inside of the barrels that age the Heritage Red blend.  Shirts also come with a separate wine-dyed bandana in same print.  Available in men's and women's sizes, $135 each.  Shop now and you'll get a 20% discount.

Wine School at Home.  Renowned wine expert Kevin Zraly's book Windows on the World Complete Wine Course has sold more than three million copies since it was first released in 1985, making it the best selling wine guide ever. In the 30th edition Zraly updated his course to encompass the ever growing and changing wine world.  He also offer his personal memories of Windows on the World, where he was cellar master from 1976 to September 11, 2001. Great for beginners and serious oenophiles alike.  $27.95.

The Passing of Natural Hair Pioneer Titi Branch

0
0
Like I do most Mondays, I grabbed my morning herbal tea and sat down at my laptop to begin sifting through emails from the weekend, as my iPhone buzzed with a picture attachment and text message beaming. I picked up my phone, and within seconds my heart sank as I read the news from a fellow mental-health advocate that Titi Branch, the co-founder of Miss Jessie's natural hair products, died by suicide. (Please note that it is most appropriate to use the terminology "died by suicide" as opposed to "committed suicide"; Terrie Williams, author of Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We're Not Hurting, further discusses the implications and differences between the two phrases here.)

2014-12-16-titibranchobitphotodeadlead.jpg

I fondly knew Titi as one half of the sister duo that was at the forefront of the black natural hair movement. With her beautiful, curly, blonde 'fro, Titi and her sister Miko encouraged women to embrace their natural beauty, kinks and curls and all.

Traveling back a little bit, the Branch sisters grew up in Queens, New York, born to an African-American father and Japanese mother. Following her graduation from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in consumer economics and starting her own public relations firm, Icon Creative Artists, Titi joined her sister, a freelance hairstylist, to open their own hair salon, Curve Salon. Curve Salon quickly gained a reputation as the "go-to" salon for healthy and natural hair care. They began to cook up hair care products geared toward curly and natural hair, testing the majority of products on their clientele, and in 2004 the Branch sisters unveiled their first market hair product line geared toward natural curly hair, naming their now multimillion-dollar corporation after their grandmother, Jessie Branch. Their innovative products have continued to gain more and more traction over the years and are now sold in many large retail chains such as Walmart and CVS. The sisters also have their first book set for release in April 2015, Miss Jessie's: Creating a Successful Business from Scratch -- Naturally.

Despite all the accolades and success, Titi Branch sadly ended her own life on Dec. 4. Branch's obituary was published on NV magazine's Facebook page this Sunday, Dec. 14.

As the facts emerge surrounding Titi's passing, I hope that all, especially the black community, are moved to take action to significantly increase awareness and education surrounding mental health, illness and wellness so that we do not have to continue to mourn the passing of so many of our dynamic and extraordinary souls such as Titi Branch, Karyn Washington and Simone Battles (just to name a few most recently). By opening up the dialogue, more individuals will feel comfortable, supported and willing to seek assistance when necessary, in addition to their family and friends feeling more at ease to assist their loved one experiencing mental health difficulties.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Titi but truly hope her passing and legacy will ignite a dull flame to birth into a full-on mental health awareness forest fire!

I end this post in the spirit in which my friend who informed me of Titi Branch's passing reached out to me; it was extremely saddening to hear that another young, vibrant black woman had taken her own life. The work that is being done by so many mental health advocates, organizations and professionals for so many in regards to mental health education and awareness, especially organizations such as Black Girls Smile, are so necessary to this movement. We all have our piece of the puzzle that we need to stay committed to tackling so that texts and news such as that heard this week do not continue. Titi, her legacy and Miss Jessie's continue to work on their piece to the puzzle by encouraging all women to embrace their most natural and authentic self. Now we must all join then in tackling our own pieces.

The Most Googled Model of 2014 May Surprise You

2014-12-17-cover.gif

Earlier this week, Google released the results of its annual Year in Search, spotlighting the people, places, and trends that grabbed the world's attention in 2014. Featuring everyone from Jennifer Lawrence (the most searched person) to Rihanna (the most searched red-carpet dress) and Iggy Azalea (the most searched musician), Google's zeitgeist report is the result of billions of searches aggregated from the site throughout the year. Here at Modelinia though, we're far more interested in seeing how our favorite models faired across the Internet. Thanks to Style.com, we now have the answer!

While it was undoubtedly the year of Kendall Jenner -- the Kardashian clan member was seemingly everywhere from catwalks to campaigns and glossy covers -- it turns out that there was one other all-American super who the world had it's eye on. That scene-stealer was Kate Upton. In a somewhat surprising move, the voluptuous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model heads the list of the top 20 fashion models followed by Kendall Jenner, at number two, Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen and Kate Moss.

Noticeably absent from the top ten list is Cara Delevingne, who came in at number 16, slipping 15 places from the number one spot she held in 2013. Surprisingly, her fellow Insta-girls didn't fair much better: Karlie Kloss took the number nine spot, while Joan Smalls came in at number 20. Meanwhile, it appears that "It" girls Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin were able to catch the world's attention with their celeb-filled social media posts as they gained spots at number eight and 14 respectively. Kudos ladies!

See the entire list of the top 20 models for Style.com below, then click here for more of Google's A Year in Search results.

If you are into makeup and you don't know the artist Wayne Goss, here's a helpful hint: You probably should. He's YouTube famous -- with over 1.8 million followers and counting, he is as sassy as he is talented (which is saying a lot, because he is very sassy), and he has a killer brush line that U.K. vloggers and bloggers have been raving about for ages. (Also: He's devilishly handsome and has a great accent, but I digress.)

Plus-Size Woman Had Editors Photoshop Her Picture To Make Her 'Beautiful' -- She Did Not Expect This

0
0
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Marie Southard Ospina, an associate fashion and beauty editor with Bustle, decided to put beauty in the hand of the beholder, asking photo editors from around the world to Photoshop her profile picture and make her "beautiful." Ospina was inspired by journalists Esther Honig and Priscilla Yuki Wilson, both of whom conducted similar experiments earlier this year. While Honig focused on how culture and beauty pertain to women, Wilson examined how culture and beauty pertain to race; but Ospina, a 23-year-old, plus-size woman, focused on the cultural relationship between weight and beauty.

In her Bustle piece, Ospina writes:

Having grown up predominantly in the first world, I’m aware that in countries like the U.S. or the U.K. being fat is (although quite common) perceived as an inherently negative thing. Stereotypes include, but are not limited to: laziness, selfishness, stupidity, naiveté and even a lower socioeconomic class. But I’m also aware that the notion of “thin is the only beautiful” doesn’t permeate the entirety of the world.

Editors from 17 countries, of varying skill levels, were paid between $5 and $30 to "make me look beautiful, whilst keeping in mind the looks they see in the fashion/beauty mags of their countries."

(Story continues below.)
photo

The results from her experiment proved surprising. Though Ospina thought most editors would digitally alter her bone structure and weight to make her look thinner, only three out of the 21 did just that.

"I was extremely positive about the results in the sense that I felt they showed just how different we all, as individuals, define and perceive beauty," she wrote in an email to The Huffington Post on Thursday. "The reality is that the 'beautiful' we’re often taught to aspire to is quite linear, and rooted in being thin. But that’s just one type of beauty. I don’t think the experiment served to show that all of a sudden we, as a species, fat shame any less. Or that all of a sudden we are perfectly accepting of diversity in size. But it did show that defining this six-letter word is nearly impossible. And that’s kind of as it should be. We should all be entitled to our perceptions and our attractions. I don’t ever expect everyone in the world to look a plus-size body and think, 'My god, he/she is stunning.' But I hope for a day when the fact that a lot of people do find that larger body attractive isn’t met with such surprise, shock and sometimes anger."

She said the response she has received from her experiment has been overwhelmingly positive, and she believes that is because people are "tired of being told there is only one kind of beauty."

"I want women to know that they don’t have to be thin to be beautiful or worthwhile or important or good," she wrote to HuffPost.

"We need to remember that beauty exists in all forms, styles, shapes, sizes, colors," she added. "We need to remember that the fact that beauty is actually undefinable is, in of itself, a beautiful thing."

Prince Harry's Moving Photos Prove African Orphans Aren't Just The Face Of AIDS

During a recent trip to Africa, Prince Harry zoomed in on some inspiring progress in a country devastated by AIDS.

The British Royal visited kids in need in Lesotho who are benefiting from the organization he co-founded, Sentebale. The primary focus of his trip was to track the charity's developments on a new children's center, but Harry also took time to photograph a few of the kids to document how they're doing.

“These are children who have never had the chance to talk about their illness, and who had no idea that they were one of so many in their age group," Prince Harry wrote in a caption of one of his photographs. "It was really emotional watching them interact with each other."

The prince, who visited Lesotho for four days earlier this month, toured construction of the new facility, which will dramatically increase the number of vulnerable children the charity can serve.

The center offers educational and healthcare resources to orphans living with HIV. According to USAID, there are more than 350,000 orphans in Lesotho, and about 180,000 of them lost parents to AIDS.

"Some [are] really outgoing chatty kids, others slightly overwhelmed, but all with huge smiles," Harry wrote. "This confirmed to me again that what we’re doing is going to change thousands of children’s lives, and hopefully save a generation.”

New York Fashion Week Gets the Boot From Lincoln Center

It's official: New York Fashion Week is getting the boot from Lincoln Center.

Following much debate, the Supreme Court of the State of New York has ruled that IMG Fashion will not renew its sublicense agreement with Lincoln Center, which expires in February following the Fall/Winter 2015 shows. According to court documents unearthed today by local blog A Walk in the Park, the lease was in violation of a city charter prohibiting using the space for non-park purposes including the temporary use of space for show tents and production equipment.

But what does this mean for the future of New York Fashion Week? Basically, it will force fashion week organizers to scramble to find a new location for its September shows, as its permanent home in Hudson Yards' Culture Shed is still several years away from completion. While a number of high-profile designers chose to move their runway shows and presentations away from Lincoln Center last season (Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors when to Spring Studios, Prabal Gurung to Skylight at Moynihan Station, Alexander Wang to Pier 94, to name just a few) 69 shows still chose to call the site home. So basically, it's anyone's guess as to where NYFW could be headed from here.

For the sake of our expense accounts, our vote goes for one central location (with plenty of sidewalk access -- for the model street style, of course).

Without A Doubt, These Are The 14 Worst Outfits Of 2014

This year we've seen a lot of questionable trends take flight. Birkenstocks have become cool, Tevas are all the rage and even fashionable labels like Rag & Bone showed overalls during their runway shows. And while sometimes ugly trends are fashionable, other times ugly clothes are just ugly.

And in the past 12 months we've seen some seriously awful red carpet ensembles. While some outfits were less egregious than others, many left us running for cover. Between the belly chains, the dresses that looked like costumes and the ill-fitting satin rompers, we've gathered the 14 worst outfits from 2014. Here's to a new year with (hopefully) better style.

Jennifer Lopez Sparkles In A Plunging Jumpsuit At People Magazine Awards

Jennifer Lopez was a glittering goddess on the red carpet at the People Magazine Awards in Beverly Hills Thursday night.

Lopez donned a sparkly Naeem Khan jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and cap sleeves to the event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The 45-year-old was there to accept the Triple Threat award, which was presented to her by her "Boy Next Door" co-star, Ryan Guzman.

"For me, whether it's acting, singing dancing or producing, I feel so bless and fortunate to do what I do. I love to entertain," she told the crowd. After getting emotional talking about the deaths of Robin Williams and Joan Rivers, she added: "I am so grateful for my career and my life. I feel like it's always just the beginning, and it is. Lots more to go."

Jennifer Aniston Nails It In A LBD At People Magazine Awards

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Jennifer Aniston is a fan of little black dresses, and it's not hard to see why. The 45-year-old star wore a LBD to the People Magazine Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California Thursday night. She paired the dress, which featured a white underlay, with black pumps and loose, wavy hair.

She took home the Movie Performance of the Year Award, Actress for her role in "Cake" playing a woman suffering from chronic pain. It's the first film-acting prize of her 25-year career, The Hollywood Reporter noted. In her acceptance speech, she called the movie "a labor of love."
