Abigail Breslin Slams 'Ridiculous' Coverage Of Selena Gomez's Appearance

Big props go out to Abigail Breslin for taking a stand against cruel critics who have been picking apart photos of Selena Gomez, claiming she's gained weight.

Earlier this month, photos of Gomez in a bikini while on vacation in Mexico sparked some nasty comments about her physique, and while the 22-year-old didn't explicitly respond to the haters, she did post a very sexy swimsuit shot on Instagram that she captioned, "I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove."

I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove

A photo posted by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

While Gomez was subtle with her message, Breslin was anything but. On Sunday, the "Little Miss Sunshine" star took to Tumblr to defend Gomez against the "ridiculous" coverage of her appearance:

All this stuff about Selena Gomez online in her bathing suit is RIDICULOUS. Everyone is always saying how we shouldn’t judge each other, so why are you commenting on a gorgeous, talented and smart young girls body when she’s on the beach having fun with her friends AND SHE LOOKS AMAZING. Aren’t there more important things the world can be reporting on??

How are young girls supposed to grow up normally and not feel bad about themselves and not develop eating disorders if it’s literally national headline news that a THIN girl may or may not have put on a few pounds, and YET still remains THIN?

I think if we all took the time we spend making each other feel bad about ourselves and used it to make each other feel good, the world would be a better place. Oh and also if we taught girls they had more newsworthy qualities than how they fit into a bikini, we’d have a lot more happy girls.

Selena, you look amazing and more importantly look like you’re having fun. Keep rocking those bikinis.

Ok rant over.

It seems like she covered everything that needed to be said. Well done, Abigail.

Why Texting and Dating Make Women Anxious

$

In a new relationship, texting can be both exciting and filled with anxiety. Before you over analyze his texts, read this to find out how to text in style.

Since we live in a fast-paced digital world where texting and tweeting has replaced the human voice in matters of the heart, we often rely too heavily on the meaning of each text message.

When it comes to love and romance, that good morning text or smiley face emoticon can make your day. Receiving a text when your date gets home to say he had a great time will help you fall asleep with a smile on your face. Hearing the chime on your phone with a simple, "Sweet dreams" is an almost guarantee that you'll be dreaming about him.

On the opposite end of the digital spectrum, the absence of a daily text or a change in routine can send many in new relationships and the lovelorn into an unnecessary panic attack. Let's face it. Women often tend to over-analyze the word count and sentence structure of every text they receive from men. What's intended to just make sure you have a connection and to keep the momentum going often ends up with a bad reaction of sending a text you wish you hadn't pushed the send button on, or not sending any reply at all. It's enough to make you lose sleep at night, grab a pint of ice cream or dial ten girlfriends to ask them what to do. It's exhausting and unnecessary. It's just a text or a way to ping someone to stay in touch, not a relationship measuring stick on whether he's into you or not.

Most people are so attached to their cell phones that they sleep with them at night or would put them in the shower with them if they were waterproof. Texting can be addicting, but is a great form of digital foreplay.

If the rhythm of your texts has gone awry from your digital crush, here are some of the reasons why and tips on how to stay calm when your phone isn't chirping or vibrating.

1. He's Busy. Men are typically goal-oriented and work and projects are at the top of their list. He might be stuck in a meeting all day out of the office and forgot to tell you his schedule. He might be compartmentalizing and getting his tasks done for the day before he starts to think about romance with you. He might be on an airplane without WiFi. The list goes on. If he isn't texting you, it doesn't mean you're not on his mind. Women on the other hand are great at multitasking. They text, talk, tweet and blow-dry their hair at the same time.

What to do: Take a deep breath. It's just a text and not a life-threatening illness. Understand he may not even realize the last time he sent you a text. If you're on his mind, he might think things are fine.

2. He Responds with One Word. Does it upset you when you write a sweet long text and he replies, with, "ok" or "yep" or "nope?" If so, you're not alone.

What to do: Reply back with a short text. Use an emoticon such as a happy face to acknowledge it. Women tend to be more gabby. Guys who are busy read the text reply quickly and move on. Don't look at his word-count as a lack of interest. He's not keeping score, nor should you.

3. He Hasn't Figured Out Your Relationship Status. If you started out as friends and moved into casual dating, he might not be sure if it's time to get serious or not. Going steady is a big deal to guys. It means they typically won't be keeping their options open anymore. Rather than disappearing permanently, his texts might become less frequent while he sorts it out.

What to do: Stop living and judging the health of your new relationship based upon the frequency of texts. Take the time to enjoy the moments you have together and don't over think or spend your precious time projecting to the future. Allow your relationship to progress at its own pace. Women worry about relationship labels. Men think about how they feel when they are around you and miss you when you're apart. When he realizes you're a catch and doesn't want anyone stealing his girl, he'll amp it up. Don't ask him why he hasn't sent you a text in five days. When you hear from him, be happy and respond to keep the digital dialog going.

Read: He Texts Me Daily. Are We in a Relationship?

4. He has a girlfriend or is involved. Some guys are just flirts by nature. They like to engage in digital conversations with women to boost their egos to keep their options open. If he's texting you sporadically, but not putting a date on the calendar or changing plans last minute, he just might be setting you up as a back-up girl or might have had a bump on the road with his steady sweetie.

What to do: Ask him. Be blunt and honest. If he can't schedule something with you on the weekends, but loves to text with you during the week, you should be filling up your date card and keeping your options open. Let him know you'd like to be friends, but don't allow yourself to get invested in a relationship where you're just the backup girl. Who really wants to play second fiddle?

5. He always replies a day later. Most of us are attached to our phones, but sometimes the battery life gets depleted, the phone is turned off, someone went to sleep early, family commitments get in the way or they glanced at your text and decided to reply in the morning. All of these scenarios are natural. However if every text is returned 24 hours later, then realize that he just isn't that interested in you or is playing hard to get. The digital flow just isn't happening.

Watch: What to Do if He Only Wants to Text Me [vide0]

What to do: You can mirror his actions by taking another 24 hours to reply, but it's just game-playing. Let him know that you enjoy receiving texts from him and the daily banter. If he still doesn't up the ante, find someone else who can't wait to see your text or emoticon on his phone.

Read: I Saw His Text Messages: Is He Cheating or Is It Over?

Remember, communication in relationships is key and everyone these days use their cell phones for calls, texts, tweets and Facebook comments or likes. Let your guy know that staying in touch when you're apart and that his texts put a smile on your face. Don't play texting games and punish him by not replying to his texts when he sends them. No one wants to be with someone who is playing too hard to get. Show that you appreciate it when he takes the time to send you a text. Keep those smiley face emoticons in your text replies when you're happy to hear from him.

At the end of the digital day, texting is just one ingredient in the recipe for love, it's not the sole defining factor in your relationship.

There's no shame in wanting your dog to be just as fashionable as you are. If you’re looking for clothes or accessories to make your pooch a real head-turner, then look no further: We’re about to introduce you to three of the trendiest labels in the dog world.

1. Shinola Pets

shinola leash

Bruce Weber is not only known for his extraordinary photography, but also for his passion for animals -- particularly dogs. In collaboration with Shinola, Weber released an American-made pet line featuring leather collars and leashes, canvas beds and toys.

Weber’s inspiration comes from his own pups: “I told the Shinola design team that my dogs have been barking at me for years about getting a new collar or leash, a comfy bed, some handmade toys, like all the other spoiled dogs in the world,” he said in a statement.

2. Ruby Rufus

This stylish English label was born two years ago when designer Ruby Rufus Isaacs realized that dogs are often forced to wear uncomfortable and scratchy outfits. She started Ruby Rufus as a small operation in London, and the label has since evolved into one of the most exclusive and sought-after brands in the business. Ruby Rufus specializes in cashmere sweaters and snoods to satisfy both the sophisticated and adventurous crowd.

This spring she teamed up with canine brand ambassador Tuna, an adorable Chiweenie, on a collaboration sweater. Proceeds from the sweater go to the Dogs Trust charity in the UK.

3. Canine Styles

This elegant brand was established in 1959 and has four New York City retail locations. Canine Styles is best known for their incredible displays and biannual collections, including a Horse Blanket Coat Tartan that also serves as a harness. Whether your furry friend is in the mood for something refined or comfortable, this brand is a must.

After they were spotted holding hands and kissing at a couple of concerts, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris are rumored to be dating.

But now, we are 99.9 percent sure they are together since Harris just basically put out a press release with this photo of Swift's cats Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey that he posted to Instagram on Wednesday:

Obviously, Swift wouldn't just let anyone meet her cats, so if this isn't a declaration that the two are an item, we just don't know what is.

Dear Women, You Don't Have To Aspire To Be Cool, Beautiful Or Anything As You Age

$
0
0
How do you get rid of an unfair, unattainable societal standard for women? Easy: Replace it with another.

In order to encourage women to stop concerning themselves with staying beautiful as they age, one writer has suggested women instead strive for "eternal coolness." As Phoebe Maltz Bovy writes in The New Republic, "The coolness pageant of life is about one's similarity to Patti Smith, not to a swimsuit model. If striving for eternal hotness involves denying one’s age, achieving eternal cool is, if anything, about embracing it."

Sure, being "cool" requires some effort but the tyranny of "cool" is not nearly as bad as fighting a losing battle against naturally sagging skin and a bit of weight gain, Maltz Bovy argues. And we're certainly not embodying the "cool" persona to attract the male gaze, she adds.

But here's the not-so-empowering thing about aging "cooly" versus "gracefully": It's just another metric of desirability that will ultimately make women feel confined and inadequate, just as physical beauty standards have. "Eternal cool" is perhaps even more restrictive -- one could argue that it's much easier to apply lipstick than a veneer of effortlessness to our very beings.

Striving to embody the "it" factors of the "cool" women Maltz Bovy cites, like Kim Gordon, Chloë Sevigny and Smith, isn't liberating. It's enslavement to another societal ideal, one that asserts that women must be enduringly charming and creative to make up for the apparent lack of fucks they give about their appearances. (And "cool" can be just as much about catering to the "male gaze" as forever-young physicality is -- see author Gillian Flynn's razor-sharp description of "the cool girl" for proof.)

The essence of the "eternal cool" Maltz Bovy cites is plucked from a recent New Yorker profile of Sevigny in which the actress describes her life as an It Girl 2.0. Explaining her resistance to go to parties as she's gotten older, Sevigny quips, "I'm forty. What am I going to do, go to a party in Gowanus with like, a 'tall boy'?"

chloe sevigny
The eternally "cool" Chloë Sevigny

Not wanting to go to a "cool" party, Maltz Bovy argues, makes the more mature iteration of Sevigny even cooler: "She manages to make beer-drinking among Brooklyn hipsters sound like pog-collecting, Britney Spears fandom, or whatever other uncool thing the little kids are into these days."

What if a 40-year-old woman wants to go to a conventionally "cool" party or -- gasp -- actually enjoys Britney Spears' music? Does that make her uncool? What if she displays a non-apathetic emotion? Or decides she'd like to slap on that aforementioned lipstick? How exhausting.

Instructing women to be "cool" as they age may take some of the focus off of physical beauty standards, but it also puts an even heavier burden on women to appear impossibly effortless and chill. We all have unbridled emotions; we all get suckered into mass trends; and we all have an embarrassing Spotify playlist that we put on when no one's around. Women like Sevigny, Smith and Gordon are likely no different (except for all the money and fame, of course). They're not paradigms of nonchalant "cool" -- they just have well-constructed, thoughtful public personas. And even these oh-so-cool women likely have their unchill private moments.

Take it from Gordon herself, who counters the deified public construction of her image in her new memoir Girl in a Band: "Onstage, people have told me, I'm opaque or mysterious or enigmatic or even cold," she writes. "But more than any of those things, I'm extremely shy and sensitive, as if I can feel all the emotions swirling around a room. And believe me when I say that once you push past my persona, there aren't any defenses there at all."

Striving for "eternal cool" seems to be just another exhausting (and unrealistic) task on our to-do list as we get older. Can't women just age in all their sometimes uncool glory? If we let go of "cool" and "beautiful," maybe we could all just enjoy the ride.

Men Bare Their Faces To Support #GirlYouDontNeedMakeup

By now you've probably seen or heard about Amy Schumer's hilarious sketch, "Girl, You Don't Need Makeup." The One Direction-inspired parody features cuties singing to the 33-year-old star, "You don't need no lipstick. You don't need no blush. 'Cause you've got that inner natural glow." But they start singing a different tune once they actually see her bare-faced.

Just before the sketch aired on Tuesday's episode of "Inside Amy Schumer," she posted this makeup-free image of herself on Twitter and asked her followers to post their photos with the hashtag #GirlYouDontNeedMakeup.

Fans immediately flooded Twitter and Instagram with makeup-free selfies, and it wasn't just women who participated. Plenty of guys have showed their support for Schumer's inspiring campaign, too. Looking good!

Up until the last minute, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson wasn't sure who he would bring to the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday. Ciara! His grandmother! Ciara and his grandmother! Nope, just his grandmother.

But on Tuesday night, he and rumored love interest Ciara made their first official public appearance together at the Japan State Dinner at the White House. They had been spotted at a Mariners game earlier this month, but the Obamas' State Dinner was the first time they had "stepped out" together for the press. (To be clear, neither one has said that they're romantically involved.)

They held hands! She called him "baby"! They took goofy pictures in front of the White House podium! Best first (public) date ever!

Naomi Campbell Is Getting Her Own Yahoo Talk Show, 'I Am Naomi'

Watching Naomi Campbell work the runway is thrilling. Obviously. But we got a glimpse of the supermodel's acting talents when she starred on Fox's hit series "Empire." And to our delight, Campbell will be back on the small screen thanks to a new web series deal with Yahoo.

The multimedia website announced the news on Monday during a press conference in New York City. The show, which will be a combination of a reality show and talk show, is entitled "I Am Naomi" and will live on the Yahoo Style section that is helmed by Joe Zee. Yahoo does not yet have a timeline for launch, Fashionista.com reports.

"I think there's something so unpredictable and ... spontaneous about her," Zee told Fashionista. "But my favorite part about Naomi is that a lot of people don't know how hysterical she is, full of bites. You've seen her on TV before and she's always so funny and really engaging."

A few years ago there were rumors that the London-born beauty would be getting her own talk show, but nothing materialized. However, this new venture seems like a done deal and we can't wait to see all of Campbell's fancy friends chop it up with her.

Werk!

Amy Schumer's 'Girl You Don't Need Makeup' Parodies Pop Songs -- And Starts A Movement

Amy Schumer strikes again -- making us laugh while also reminding us how ridiculous our beauty standards are.

On an April 28 episode of the show on Comedy Central, Schumer parodied the (rather obnoxious) trend of men assuring women of their beauty -- notably the idea that men commonly tell women they don't need to wear makeup.

In the sketch, styled as a music video for a song called "Girl, You Don't Need Makeup," Schumer is surrounded by a boy band singing in high-pitched tones about how she's so beautiful that she doesn't need to wear makeup. That is, until she takes her makeup off... at which point, they beg her to put it back on.

“Girl you don’t need makeup, you’re perfect when you wake up. Just walk around like that all day,” the boys sing while caressing Schumer's face. As commanded, Schumer takes off her makeup -- and the guys quickly backtrack: “Hold up girl we spoke too soon with this whole new makeup tune. We kinda changed our mind on the makeup… thing.”

To prove that women do look beautiful without makeup, Schumer tweeted out a picture of her and a friend wearing no makeup before the episode aired. She asked users to tweet images of them without makeup with the hashtag #GirlYouDontNeedMakeup:

The responses started pouring in:

Schumer later responded to everyone who participated, tweeting about how amazed she was by the overwhelming support she received:

Indeed, a few men also showed their support by tweeting images of their fresh faces:

So no, ladies -- you don't have to look like this to attract a significant other.

16 Things Brutally Honest Women Know All Too Well

$
0
0
If you're a brutally honest lady like myself, you will find yourself in treacherous waters at some point in your life. Let’s face it, the truth hurts sometimes -- but that’s never stopped us from telling it.

Women are often expected to pander, apologize or make excuses for our forthright behavior. We're encouraged to be "nurturers," to soothe people, downplay our anger and aggression, and basically play nicey-nice even if we're seething inside and our true feelings are bursting to get out.

Well, eff that.

If you’re outspoken, opinionated and just can't seem to keep your opinions to yourself (ever), this one’s for you.

Here are 16 things brutally honest women completely understand:

1. The pure relief that comes with telling someone what you really think. There is just nothing like it.

2. What a compliment is really worth. Not everything is great, and that’s totally OK.

3. Having a very narrow set of circumstances under which telling a white lie is acceptable. If the lie gets you off the hook for something you are totally guilty of, you don’t tell it -- even when it would save you a whole lot of trouble.

4. When you’re so straightforward about negative opinions that people think you’re joking. Hint: You’re not.

5. Sometimes your comebacks hit a little too deep. Oops.

6. You absolutely cannot stand by silently while a friend makes a terrible decision. To you, being a good friend is expressing your honest concerns about their choice in a respectful and open way. Whether or not they take your advice is a different matter.

7. Never being able to suck up to someone. Ass-kissing makes you queasy.

8. You are completely comfortable making your displeasure known. This is especially true when you are on the phone with Verizon customer service. (I still want my unlimited data back, Verizon.)

9. The power of a well-placed “excuse me” instead of “sorry.” Because women apologize far too often.

10. Friends come to you for the cold, hard truth when other people are just telling them what they want to hear. But then again, people occasionally avoid you for that exact same reason.

11. Everyone knows your opinions. Whether they asked for them or not.

12. Your face will give you away even when you can stop yourself from saying something. Every. Single. Time.

13. Letting someone down gently is an exercise in torture. Especially in a romantic situation. Is there a clearer way to tell someone you don’t have any chemistry that’s not, “we don’t have any chemistry?” Probably not. Blunt is best.

14. Being called a bitch / cold / crazy / mean on a regular basis. Sigh. Next.

15. That crushing feeling when you’ve taken it too far. Because living your #Unapologetic life authentically and saying exactly what you think, will probably cause you to hurt someone at some point -- and that’s never easy. But then you know to rethink your delivery for next time.

16. You know that people respect your opinion, because you don’t say things you don’t mean. And that’s the best feeling of all.

This Blueberry Smoothie Recipe Will Let You Eat Your Way To Healthy Skin

The key to healthy skin relies just as much on what you put in your body as what you put on it. So why not eat your way to way to a gorgeous complexion?

Carla Oates, founder of Australian organic skincare and wellness brand The Beauty Chef, created a blueberry and cinnamon smoothie recipe intended to help make your skin look healthier and brighter.

The dark blue fruit is packed with antioxidants that can help protect your skin from sun damage, and vascular constrictors that work to decrease redness. A 2012 study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that cinnamon extract promoted the growth of collagen, which plumps up skin to give it a smoother appearance.

This smoothie is also loaded with chia seeds, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that help to reduce inflammation and dry skin and promote circulation.

What You'll Need:
2 cups frozen blueberries
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 banana
2 tsps The Beauty Chef GLOW Inner Beauty Powder (full of prebiotics and probiotics that help to support and balance digestive health)
2 tsps chia seeds (soak overnight to make it easier for your body to absorb the nutrients)
2 cups almond milk (you can substitute with coconut milk)

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together well in a blender. For added health benefits, Oates encourages blending to a point where fruit and veggies are still chewable.

Kendall Jenner Strips Down To Her Calvin Klein Skivvies For V Magazine

The Kardashian-Jenner family is everywhere these days and Kendall Jenner is a big part of that. The 19-year-old model is well on her way to dominating the fashion industry after landing her first major campaign with Calvin Klein and as the new face of Estée Lauder.

Now, she's striking a pose yet again and stripping down to her CK skivvies for photographer Steven Klein for V Magazine's Issue 95.

Along with the sexy photo shoot, Jenner also opened up to the magazine about her struggle to break into modeling.

"You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults were either initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back," she explained. "It was kind of hard because all I was doing was going on go-sees, trying my best to break into this business as a teenager. I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand, who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity. My parents taught me that work ethic is one of the most important keys in life, and I believe it.”

That work ethic seems to have paid off considering her Calvin Klein deal includes her first-ever billboard overlooking Sunset Boulevard, which she's "ecstatic about."

"It’s really humbling, and honestly, I am a pretty shy person, but being part of the Calvin campaign and seeing myself up there will be a dream come true," she told V magazine of the massive billboard. "I might have to eat every night at the Chateau Marmont with that hanging over my shoulder. ‘Oh yeah, that little thing? I didn’t notice!’”

How To Become Famous On YouTube, According To 'Girl With No Job' Star Claudia Oshry

When it comes to finding funny content on Instagram, there's no shortage of options. It's impressive then, to say the least, when a user reaches "Insta-celebrity" status. Claudia Oshry's blog and accompanying Instagram account, "Girl With No Job," is one of those rare examples.

Claudia Oshry, left, with her sister Jackie

Oshry, who writes and posts predominantly about pop culture, asks the hard-hitting questions on her blog -- "I’m getting confused 'cause do diets end? Don’t you just gain the weight back? Like how do you get off a diet?" -- while promoting other users by sharing their content, too. "It's a delicate balance of giving people what they want, but also pushing my personal agenda," she says.

It's that sense of humor and keen awareness of what works on social media that has made Oshry so successful. With 685,000 Instagram followers and counting, she's turned her distaste for a career into exactly that.

We chatted with the social media star about how to make it as a blogger, what readers shouldn't do on her page and more.

On how "Girl With No Job" started:

Girl With No Job started as Girl With A Job, actually. When I was a freshman at NYU I got a fashion internship, which is the antithesis of me. I was running around doing PR stuff, putting clothes together... I was miserable. I would write my mom emails after work every day. She was like, "You have to start a blog."

And on why it was almost short-lived:

I used to write really mean, offensive things about the people that I worked with because it was such an easy to way to vent -- nobody read it. I was promoting my blog and Facebook and all these people at work started to friend me and I had to delete it. I was giving them all really mean nicknames and I knew if they read it they would 100 percent know who they were.

On the "five" words that describe her aesthetic:

Obnoxious, relatable, feminine-driven, outrageous and don't-take-anything-too-seriously-on-my-page-or-I'll-have-to-block-you.

And your done!

On the inspiration for her hilarious "fakeup" tutorials:

I was thinking about how people get famous on YouTube. That girl Michelle Phan is on a billboard, like, are you joking? I need to become one of these girls. I only really know two ways of becoming super famous on YouTube: the Justin Bieber route of being a professional singer, which I hardly am, and then makeup tutorials. These girls get insane views. So I decided to just start parodying these tutorials.

Some of them actually work. I was totally joking when I did the contour, but for one second my cheekbones were so sharp, it was crazy. Obviously I'm not expecting anyone to go out with their eyebrows drawn in like that, but come on, makeup is so serious. When did makeup become an art form? I'm not into that.

On how to make it as a blogger:

Don't let people bother you, because it's so easy to let them. I will never forget the first mean comment I got on my blog, because it still shatters my core. I was so upset. My family said, "If you're going to try and become an influencer, you need to grow a thicker skin," but it's so much easier said than done. You have to just keep going and persevere.. eventually you will find people who care about what you're writing. All the work is worth the reward.

For Vancouver couple Emma and Greg Gavelis, Harry Potter has practically been a third member of their relationship.

They met on dating site Plenty of Fish in 2011 and immediately hit it off when Greg wrote on his profile that his perfect first date would be a "Harry Potter" marathon. Emma, who has two Harry Potter tattoos, was smitten.

Fast-forward to August 14, 2014 when the two Potterheads tied the knot at McMenamins Edgefield hotel in Troutdale, Oregon.

"Harry Potter has played such a big part in us falling in love, that it only seemed fitting to have it be a big part of our wedding and the rest of our love story," Emma told The Huffington Post.

The pair's budget for the big day was $5,000, so the bride tapped into her crafty side and DIYed many aspects of the celebration.

"I spent a lot of time watching 'Game of Thrones' re-runs while assembling everything," Emma wrote in her Offbeat Bride blog post. "And it was totally worth it."

Here are some of the cute and clever ways they incorporated their obsession into the day's festivities:

Emma designed all of the wedding stationery herself in addition to making her bouquet, the boutonnieres, the ring box, some of the table decor, and more.

"I love to make things with my hands," she told HuffPost. "It was definitely a labor of love. Plus, it was nice being able to customize every aspect and make sure it oozed Potter. We also couldn't have afforded this wedding if I hadn't made almost everything myself."

When asked about her favorite wedding day memory, Emma said it was when she and Greg were standing at the altar and he started acting goofy.

"I looked at him, and he started pulling faces -- just like he usually does," she said. "It lightened the mood and made me feel so comfortable, and so sure I was marrying the right man."

A man accused of stealing Sir Elton John's heart-shaped glasses has been arrested, Memphis police say.

Police say 26-year-old Matthew Colvin swiped the famous rocker's prescription eyeglasses from the Rock 'n Soul Museum in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 21. The white glasses, valued at $2,031, were kept in a display case at the museum.

Did you hear? Sir Elton John's glasses were recovered! Here's a statement from Rock'n'Soul Executive Director John...

Police lifted a set of prints from the plexiglass case and immediately matched them to Colvin, who WMC Action News reports was living with his mother in Southaven, Mississippi.

He acknowledged stealing the glasses

John Doyle, executive director of the Rock 'n' Soul Museum, told Fox Memphis the glasses were returned undamaged and will be back on display Wednesday.

Even if Elton John still used the glasses -- which now belong to Hard Rock Cafe International -- he likely wouldn’t have missed them much. The rock 'n' roll legend is rumored to own as many as 250,000 different pairs of glasses, most of which are no longer needed, as he's had surgery to correct his vision.

21 Then-And-Now Photos Of BFFs Show The Awesome Strength Of Female Bonds

When my best friend called to tell me she was engaged last month, I cried then joked that I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with her fiancé -- after all, the guy was essentially signing on to live out the rest of his days with my friend and me: her bestie of over 10 years and unofficial life partner.

While loving friendships like mine are fairly common, they're still special. There's something fated and utterly lucky about best friendship -- finding one can feel like meeting a soulmate or winning the non-genetic sibling lottery.

As Mindy Kaling described her bestie in her 2012 book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?:

Thanks to the awesome community on HuffPost Women's Facebook, I've rounded up a collection of other tight-knit best friends who've lasted over a decade and have the then-and-now photos to prove it. If there's anything to be learned from their photos and stories, it's that there's no need to explain what makes you and your bestie work -- it just is.

Britney Spears Falls, Sprains Her Ankle During Las Vegas Show

If you ever have to fall, do it like Britney Spears.

The 33-year-old pop star was in the middle of dazzling fans at her "Piece of Me" show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Wednesday when she fell and sprained her ankle. Spears was performing her 1999 hit song "(You Drive Me) Crazy" when it seems her heels got the better of her and she took a tumble (which can be seen below in this fan-shot video at about the 1:49 mark).

While the fall itself was pretty damn graceful if you ask us, she still managed to injure herself. Fans will be relieved to know she later tweeted that she's "OK!":

Spears has a long history of injuring herself while dancing that dates back to the start of her career as a pop star. In 1999, she was out of commission for a month after she twisted her knee while rehearsing some dance moves and had to undergo surgery. In 2004, the singer again injured her knee while filming the video for her song “Outrageous,” and again had to undergo surgery.

Spears' knee injury subsequently forced her to cancel the remainder of her "Onyx Hotel Tour."
