Why Aren't You Shopping At AliExpress?

$
0
0
The Chinese e-tailer AliBaba broke retail records this month when it crushed $14 billion of sales in one day. For context, that's more than 2014's Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday sales combined. You may be tangentially aware of what AliBaba is because of news like this, but have no real interaction with the site. This is a mistake.

Get acquainted with AliBaba through its retail arm, AliExpress, whose shtick is selling individual items at the low prices they would have in bulk. You can buy cut-rate home decor, electronics, and most important, clothes, which ship free anywhere in the world from Shenzhen, China. AliExpress is the queen of the weird world of novelty internet fashion.

A (really, really) small sample of the wares:
2015-11-24-1448401729-5438039-aliexpresscollagesmall.jpg

While their applications may not be immediately apparent, trust me, you need clothes like these in your life.

See, I love a good trend as much as the next girl, but I'm growing old. Not old enough that I have the money to keep up with said trends themselves, but old enough to have lived through the last iteration of flared jeans, and thus old enough to groan at the coming bell-bottom redux. I have a solution for us, the passively chic working women of 2015. Stop buying clothes that will soon go out of style, and start buying clothes that will never be in style. Clothes that are categorically excepted from trends: novelty fashion.

Some things I've bought and loved from AliExpress are: a t-shirt screen printed with Emojis, a high-quality sweatshirt with a Kenzo-esque "evil eye" print, chic black joggers that I wear at least twice a week, tortoiseshell mirrored sunglasses for 1/100th the price of a similar Illesteva pair that didn't suit me, and a draped jersey sweater-cum-cape that deftly channels 80's Rei Kawakubo. (Also: a faux cowhide rug for my room, a kimono, and Bluetooth speakers.)

2015-11-24-1448400709-7531162-emojishirt.png

When I wore my evil-eye sweatshirt out, someone gave me free coffee because they liked it so much. This is not an atypical response to novelty fashion. Everyone likes a surprise, most of all you. Do you want to buy this season's new white button-down? (What's the variation this time: pussy-bow? Bleached chambray? Roll-up sleeves? Boyfriend fit? Girlfriend fit? Haven't we seen it all?) Or do you want ten outrageously printed shirts that you could justifiably wear once and look memorably great each time?

An important part of AliExpress is that it is very cheap. Another important part is that it ships for free from China, albeit in a window of 12-20 business days.

The quality is fine, albeit relying heavily on polyester fabrics. All my AliExpress clothes have made it through the washing machine, which is more than I can say about some other fast fashion purchases. And make sure, like with other Asian e-tailers like YesStyle and StylaNanda, that you order one size up. My male friends have suggested two sizes up.

I'm okay with blowing the lid off what might be a wardrobe secret because of the quantity of goods for sale. At the time of my writing there are 292,682 A-line wedding dresses for sale on AliExpress. This excludes "Ball Gown," "Beach," "Empire," "Mermaid," "Princess," "Sheath," and "Trumpet" wedding dresses. AliExpress is the number one e-commerce site in Russia. AliExpress could be your next 100 going-out tops.

Whenever you embrace novelty fashion you will find your life richer in interactions and Dada possibilities for being. So much of what we wear is just a signifier that we "get it" - the current heel height, the new midi dress length, the cool type of sneaker. It becomes exhausting, signifying, all day long.

Add some novelty items into your wardrobe that make these value judgments impossible. Embrace something that was unthinkable to me before I started buying novelty clothing in earnest: that clothes can pleasurably convey a humorous aesthetic. Novelty fashion is hilarious.

And shopping for novelty clothing is fun. It is cheap and finding items in AliExpress is exactly as satisfying as finding a worthwhile trinket in a bazaar, and with better odds.

Close your fashion week slideshows. Skip Cyber Monday. Enter the void.

My dear friend Colleen Quill aka Coco and her dog Elle, an oftentimes Mrs. Sizzle model, packed up and headed to London last year. As one often does in looking for new local friends, Coco turned to Instagram to find other like minded paw friendly people. As she tells it, "We moved to London in May. Shortly afterwards, Elle connected with Winny on Instagram, being local and so very British, we were besotted. The first thing we asked "is he named for Winston Churchill?" The answer being "yes," a royal friendship began in the Kensington Palace Gardens. Bodhi is the two-year-old English bulldog, who belongs to my friend Seb Weller I met while we were both working at Sony Music."

Pamela Anderson Bares It All For Playboy's Final Nude Issue

Pamela Anderson just made Playboy history.

The former "Baywatch" star revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she was the lucky model chosen to appear on the magazine's final nude issue. We really can't think of anyone better.

"I got a call from [Hugh Hefner's] attorney who said, 'We don't want anybody else. There's nobody else, could you do the last cover of Playboy?'" Anderson told ET's Carly Steel.

Playboy announced in October that it would stop publishing images of fully nude women in its print issues (they'll still appear online, though). In an interview with the New York Times, Chief Content Officer Cory Jones explained that it was "the right thing to do.

Anderson, who's now appeared on a record 14 Playboy covers, found out about the magazine's changes from one of her sons.

"I was like, 'What? Are you serious?' But then I thought that's probably a good thing," Anderson explained. "It's hard to compete with the Internet. And the girl next door doesn't exist anymore. She's taking selfies down her shirt. There's no mystery over there anymore. It doesn't have that same charm and innocence that it used to."

Anderson, 48, said that she was concerned about what her sons might think of her posing for yet another cover, but admitted they were extremely supportive.

"I said, 'Hef just called, he wants me to do the last cover of Playboy,' and he [Brandon, 19] goes, 'Mom you've got to do it,'" Anderson explained. "[Brandon said] 'We're older, we're not embarrassed anymore of you. You know, we think you're great.'"

"He was so excited," she added. "He may have high-fived me!"

Her 17-year-old, Dylan, said simply, "Mom, you know you've done it all."

Anderson, who was photographed by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth for the issue, really made sure to have fun on set.

"I took off all my clothes, and I rolled down the hill as fast as I can. I was just screaming, and hair and boobs were flying, and shoes were going everywhere," she said.

To read more about the issue and to see some outtakes from the shoot, head over to Playboy. The December/January issue hits newsstands on Dec. 11.

Bella Hadid has got the whole sheer look down to an art form

The 19-year-old stepped out to a party during Art Basel Miami Beach on Wednesday night in a mini skirt and see-through top, accessorized with a chain necklace, patent leather pumps and a gold handbag.

The model threw a coat over the outfit for an Instagram snap with fellow partygoers, including Lenny Kravitz.

The trend is a pattern for Hadid, who frequently steps out in transparent tops.

Hey, if you've got it, flaunt it, right?

The Painted History Of Rose Quartz And Serenity, Your Pantone Colors Of The Year

A photo posted by PANTONE (@pantone) on

Hear ye, hear ye. Pantone, the world's paramount color authority, has just announced the 2016 color of the year. And in an unprecedented move, there are two! It seems like no matter how many hours of deliberation the Pantone committee went through, they just could not choose between the two victorious hues, blue and pink. Sorry, Serenity and Rose Quartz.

It looks like your upcoming year will be the color of a pale sunset, or a baby nursery for eager parents who chose not to determine the sex beforehand. In the words of Pantone: "Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, Serenity comforts with a calming effect, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure."

Although Serenity and Rose Quartz will surely be trending in the year to come, the art world has been hot on the pink and blue beat for centuries. (It helps, perhaps that the sky is blue and skin is pink.) From Monet's dreamy haystacks to Marlene Dumas' translucent watercolors, artists past and present have often employed the fine and feathery combination of Serenity and Rose Quartz for their pictorial visions. Take a tour of the painted history of pink and blue -- with a few sculptures and photos thrown in -- below.

Beanie-to-briefs in ethical brands for $153

$

(Rocking my Krochet Kids beanie)

Most folks think shopping for clothing with your ethics is a privilege that few can afford. I've been writing about being an ethical and engaged consumer since I traveled around the world to meet the people who made my clothes.

Since writing Where Am I Wearing? I encouraged folks to wear one thing a day they knew was produced in a way that treated people and planet fairly. I reach a lot of college students and thought that a whole outfit in such clothes would be unaffordable.

That's what I thought... until today.

Today, I decided to do a little online shopping experiment: I put together a whole outfit consisting of underwear, shirt, shoes, pants, socks and a beanie by visiting the online stores of companies that I know are making responsible decisions about people and planet. And then I compared them to products you would normally find at the mall.

It turns out the ethical outfit I put together only cost $153, which was actually $8 cheaper than the normal outfit.

Don't believe me? Check out the results and I'll introduce you to some of my favorite ethical brands.

Underwear

It's almost embarrassing to admit that I'm wearing Fair Trade underwear as I type this. A few years ago, Fair Trade underwear would've looked like something your grandma crocheted. They would be ethical but itchy. And when it comes to underwear I'd rather have them non-itchy than produced in a way that I was assured was ethical.

Pact Apparel underwear: They are the first company I know of to offer Fair Trade Certified Underwear (listed in the Fair Trade Shopping Guide). I love their marketing: "Change starts with your underwear!" I own several pairs of their boxer briefs. Great for the gym or for standing in front of a thousand college students talking about being an ethical consumer.  Cost: $10 - $12.50 / pair

Compare to 5-pack of Hanes - $4 per pair

Shirt

Organic Cotton t-shirt produced by TS Designs in North Carolina: I Love TS Designs. I've gotten to know their owner, Eric Henry, over the years and visited their factory this fall. Eric and TS Designs are the real deal, driven by the greater good.  Cost: $22 / shirt.

SustainU: Made in USA of recycled cotton. I spoke on a panel alongside the company's founder Chris Yurba, a former Notre Dame fullback and a pretty awesome dude. Cost:  $15 (on sale)

prAna: Was one of the first brands to really get behind Fair Trade apparel. They've got some cool designs. I wear these as my fancy T-shirts--or business casual for normal folks.  Cost: $35

Compare to Nike cotton shirt -- $18.99

Shoes

Oliberté: The first shoe to be certified by Fair Trade USA. I'm one of their ambassadors, which means they sent me a free pair of shoes and I posed for some pics wearing them. Since that first pair, I bought another pair. They are really high quality and stand up against any leather shoe I've ever owned. Cost: $50 (usually more in the $125+ range but I found a pair on sale)

SoleRebels: Ethiopian-owned and -operated, I had a chance to visit this factory to see the amazing things they are accomplishing by paying workers a living wage. The shoes themselves are really comfortable--love the feel of the inner tube tire on the soul--but can look a little homemade. Cost: $85

Compare to Clark's leather boot - $75

Pants

Patagonia: A company that is definitely a leader on all things responsible consumption and an early adopter of acknowledging where their products are made. I worked at a store that sold Patagonia and I've never seen a company stand behind their products like Patagonia. Customers would bring in a jacket with a hole and Patagonia would fix it or send them a new jacket for free.  Cost of Fair Trade, organic cotton pants - $99

Raleigh Denim - I own one pair. Let's just say when I bought them the credit card company called my wife. They are by far the best, most comfortable jeans, and by far the most expensive jeans I've ever owned. Cost: Let's just say, it's more than this entire outfit I'm putting together.

Levi's - GoodGuide (a resources every ethical shopper should have on his or her phone) actually ranks Levi's 2nd to Patagonia in their list of jean brands. Cost: $50

Compare to Old Navy - $40

Socks

Mitscoots: Made in Austin, Texas, by individuals transitioning out of homelessness. For every pair you buy Mitscoots gives a pair to someone living on the streets. Cost: $14 / pair

Pact Apparel also sells Fair Trade Certified socks: $8 / pair

Compare to Dockers dress socks - $3 / pair

Beanie

Krochet Kids: A few snowboarding high schooler from Spokane started to crochet beanies and sell them to friends. One of the snowboarders traveled to Uganda and saw people could use a good opportunity. The friends were all like, "We're snowboarding dudes from Spokane and we learned to crochet. So could these  Ugandan women." The friends taught the women, and now you can buy the beanies, each hand signed by the woman who made them. Cost: $20

Compare to Under Armour beanie - $20

Be more than just a consumer. Be a producer.

Now for a larger point: We aren't just going to shop our way to a better world. Each purchasing decision we make is a decision about people and planet, and, made collectively, they can make a difference. But we need to be more than consumers. We need to be producers.

Once you are dressed in all this ethical apparel, what are you going to produce? What are you going to produce with your passions, curiosities, life experiences and skills?  Are you and your snowboarding buddies going to start crocheting? Are you going to start an apparel business in North Carolina when 97 percent of such businesses have gone overseas?

Don't just wear these items of clothing, be inspired by them.

'Santa, I Want Volume for the Holidays!'

$

0
'Tis the season for volume! That's what a lot of us want for the Holidays. It's party time and we want to make a 'red carpet' entrance with some drama, baby!

Hair with volume isn't the only style trending. Take a look at recent red-carpet galleries for the American Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards for a nice overview of what's hot for the Holidays, including some retro 20s looks, center parts, dark one-tone coloring, pastel colored ends and blondes that are still strong. Volume is really big, though, with lots of loose romantic ponytails and buns, and sexy layered looks.

Volume 101

• First, use a hair mousse or styling gel. Rub it around in your hands a bit, then start working it through your hair. For longer hair, tip your head upside-down and work from mid-length toward the scalp.

• If you start with damp hair, use a blow dryer and begin with hair dangling upside down, working your fingers through your hair as you dry.

• Now use a rounded brush to build some curls and waves. Use a larger diameter for a bigger curl or wave to the hair, smaller diameter for a tighter curl. This is where you section the hair. Smaller sections will give you more control and a tighter curl.

• For optimum results, first gather sections at the top of the head, pulling the hair straight off the scalp, then starting at the end, roll the hair around your brush from end to roots. You are actually using the brush as your roller. Dry the hair and let it cool with the hair still wrapped around the brush. Repeat for each section.

• Make sure you're getting your hair dry. If it's even a little damp when you hit the sidewalk, it's going to go limp. Bye, bye volume.

Tips for on-the-go volume:

• Put your hair up in a bun for work. Drop it down just before heading to happy hour. Sleeping with your hair in a bun is a way to get some volume in the morning. If you have naturally sleek hair, you'll need a little product, especially around the roots, to keep that volume going.

• Change your part. Take your hair in the opposite direction over the scalp for some quick volume.

• Volumizing powders or a shot of hairspray at roots can do wonders on-the-go, right before wowing the Holiday office party with those new ankle boots.

Happy Holidays! Love change!

Trends for the Leaves

$

Fall is the season when the leaves change colors and there's no reason why you can't do the same for your wardrobe. Minimalist and earthy colors, layered clothing, scarves, vests and ankle boots are all fall staples. But let's not forget the accessories: layered jewelry, bun pins, fragrances and, of course, stationary.

Elizabeth and Clarke, a premium clothing subscription company, boasts a wide range of styles for every season. With tops named after famous Elizabeths throughout history, they make style and quality look effortless. The Scott, Carson and Cooper are perfect for fall and winter, making an easy transition between seasonal fashion choices. The Scott is a long-sleeved black shirt with a bit of a twist on the neckline, while the Carson is a sleeveless, camel-colored vest that goes perfectly with the Scott. The Cooper gives the wearer the chance to layer as much as they want, with a blouse illusion giving it a sophisticated and classy look. Pair any of these tops with Alex and Ani's pull-chain bracelets and rings from their new Providence collection, slide on a pair of ankle boots and you're good to go for a day out.

2015-12-02-1449023661-3916322-ElizabethandClarke.jpg

Layered jewelry and accessories are also must-haves this season. Alex and Ani, KITSCH and ban.do are the proud owners of some of fall's most anticipated accessories. Alex and Ani's Providence collection is a must for anyone who wants subtle but elegant jewelry, while KITSCH offers both bold and subtle pieces to complete an outfit. KITSCH also boasts a line of bun pins that can be worn on the front of a bun.

2015-12-02-1449023926-3761271-1448500379817.jpg

Stationary is one of the biggest staple pieces an individual needs in the fall--as work and school begin, papers are strewn about and there is simply no organization. ban.do, an accessory boutique based in Los Angeles, CA, began as a company that primarily sold hair accessories. As they expanded their range of products to include agendas, notebooks, hair accessories, tech accessories and apparel, ban.do began gaining more attention and is thriving as it releases even more designs. For the fall, ban.do's best pieces are their agendas, sticker book (a perfect companion to the agenda) and sticky notes sets. With eye-catching designs and phrases, these three products are the epitome of organization and style. Rifle Paper Co. also offers dozens of colorful prints, including a checklist with a quote by Van Gogh, the floral-print Monarch notepad and new 2016 Alice in Wonderland wall calendar. Rifle Paper Co. makes it easy to decorate and organize a workspace, with perfect fall-themed products.

2015-12-02-1449023861-5931355-Stationary.jpg

Finally, fragrances play one of the biggest roles throughout the year, with scents that fit each season. Creed offers three scents that are perfect for fall: Love in White, Royal Princess Oud and Fleurs de Gardenia. With distinct notes such as sweet violet, iris, Bulgarian rose and soft musk, the three fragrances capture different moments in time and make the wearer feel like they are a part of the experiences that inspired the perfumes.

With these fall trends, you won't miss a beat among the brightly colored leaves.

Digital Love - 5 Tips to Find a Date for the Holidays

$

Now that it's December, singles everywhere are wondering if they'll be in the arms of someone special for the holidays. Many were questioned over Thanksgiving about their relationship status. For those in new relationships or are casually dating, you probably don't have an answer to those annoying questions from those who really care.

December is also the time of year where singles want to couple up BIG time and looking for love online is at the top of the list.

While you're filling your calendar with holiday parties and networking events, grab your mobile phone and let's get started.

Here are 5 online and mobile dating tips to help you find love and your one in 50 million online.

1. Swipe Right. Yes. Apps like Tinder are responsible for some serious relationships, so ditch your old thoughts about hookups only with mobile dating apps and start swiping right.

2. Favorite your Digital Crush. Online dating is a numbers game, but it's so easy to get lost in the digital shuffle. To stand out, use the "Super Like" feature on your match on Tinder, say yes to your daily matches on Match and favorite or hot list someone to get their attention when you log in, at least twice daily.

3. Don't Wait. Initiate. Just because someone viewed your profile, doesn't mean you should sit back and wait for the email to arrive. To fill your date card, you MUST be proactive. That means logging in daily, seeing who viewed your profile and writing to 5-10 new people a day.

READ: Mobile Dating Advice

4. Snap New Photos. While your Facebook and Instagram profiles are up-to-date with fresh new photos, your online dating profile just might need a digital face-lift. The first place to start is with the photos. Grab a few from your social networking sites or better yet, enlist the help from a friend who has a great digital camera. Snap 100 photos in 5 different outfits and have a photo selection party with your BFFs. They'll help you select the best pics. P.S. Remember to wear red and ditch the little black dress. Red is the color of love, passion and the stop sign. It's also the signature color for the holidays.

5. Meet IRL. The point of Internet dating isn't to have a digital pen-pal. It's to meet someone amazing who you click with, who you can think about every morning when you wake up. You can't find him or her if you don't take your relationship from online to offline. Schedule a short phone chat and if the chemistry is there, add him or her to your date card and meet in person.

As always, I wish you much love and joy in cyberspace, or wherever you may roam. xo

This Cuticle Cream Could Be The Answer To Saving Your Nails

$

0

When it comes to maintaining your health, don't underestimate the importance of your cuticles. The small layer of skin not only protects the developing nail but it also prevents harmful bacteria from getting into your system. So the next time you're getting a manicure and you're asked if you want your cuticles cut, you should politely and confidently answer:

Instead of snipping that skin away, the best method of maintaining your cuticles is by giving them some TLC via nourishing lotions, gels and creams. We were immediately intrigued after being sent a package of Nailvana Revitalizing Nail Treatment. The creamy formula is the brainchild of Los Angeles-based manicurist Gina Alcedo, who developed the product after witnessing the damaging effect of gel manicures.

"[Gel manicures are] a fantastic concept but it ruins the natural nail because of the process," Alcedo told The Huffington Post. "Also, regular nail polish dries out the natural nail for some people, which causes splitting and brittleness, which can cause the nail to break."

We decided to put the cream to the test. And when I say "we" I mean myself -- someone who has relatively healthy nails but never thinks about her cuticles and often has them cut at the nail salon (eek!) -- and Katelyn Mullen, HuffPost Lifestyle's Managing Editor, who is a self-proclaimed cuticle caretaker because she has "very angry cuticles" that often bleed if she's not constantly tending to them.

With that said, we both embarked on gently massaging the cream into the cuticles and nail beds 3 to 4 times a day over the course of two weeks. We came to the same conclusion that it helped in rejuvenating our nails, but here's a rundown of the pros and cons:

Con: It left our hands a bit greasy after it absorbed into the skin.

Con: The application wand was easy to use, but we wish the tip had bristles for more accurate distribution.

Pro: The consistency was creamy -- not sticky.

Pro: The cream has a nice neutral scent.

Pro: The packaging is beautiful and compact.

Pro: It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves it perfectly moisturized.

Pro: After two weeks our cuticles and nails look and feel healthier.

The key to this particular cream's healing formulation is the use of myrrh extract. The dried resin that is derived from tree bark softens cuticles and prevents nail breakage. There is also a combination of botanical ingredients, vitamins, minerals and essential oils in each Nailvana tube. And while we are certainly fans of the product, there are other ways to keep your cuticles in tip top shape if lotions and potions aren't your thing,

"Gently push back the cuticle with a wash cloth after a shower," board certified dermatologist and nail specialist Dr. Dana Stern told The Huffington Post. And while we now know that cutting is a no-no, don't be fooled by liquid cuticle removers. Dr. Stern, who will be introducing a 3-step nail care system in February on QVC, says that some contain alkaline ingredients that can "destroy keratin by attacking the disulfide bonds of cysteine" -- in other words, they can really damage your nails.

Nailvana provided a sample of the Revitalizing Nail Treatment ($26) for review purposes. Note: Part of the proceeds of this product will go to a scholarship fund to help a beauty school student pay for tuition.

Facebook Is Releasing Its Live Video Feature To Everyone

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Get ready to start watching live video of your friends and family doing something fun, boring and even dumb on Facebook.

The world's largest social network is testing a new feature that will enable its 1.5 billion users to use their smartphones to shoot video so other people can see what they are doing in real time.

Facebook began testing the live video option Thursday among a sliver of its U.S. audience with iPhones. The company didn't say when everyone with a Facebook account and a smartphone will have an opportunity to broadcast live.

The feature represents Facebook's latest challenge to online messaging service Twitter, which introduced a live video application called Periscope earlier this year. Another popular app called Meerkat also can be used to share live video.

The singer, who's currently traversing North America on her Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz Tour, continues to "out Miley" herself at nearly every performance. Just when you think the singer couldn't get more naked or more scandalous on stage, Cyrus does something like adding prosthetic genitals to her tour costume.

"Dead Petz," which kicked off in Chicago a few weeks ago, features all the raunchiness, wild acts and crazy costumes you can imagine. Hell, Miley's even making her audience members get naked at a show.

If you can't make it to an upcoming concert, scroll through some of Miley's most outrageous (and did we mention NSFW?) tour moments below:

And, of course, Cyrus has had many more outrageous moments on and off the stage. Take a look back at some of the craziest things she's worn over the years.

What a difference a wig makes.

"Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson looks almost unrecognizable as a brunette in a racy photo shoot for Flaunt magazine. The usually blond actress threw back to a sexy '70s look in a sheer bra top and high-waisted paisley pants.

In another shot taken by photographer Frederic Auerbach, the 25-year-old goes topless under a long coat and paired with sexy snakeskin thigh-high boots.

Benson stars as Hanna Marin on the ABC Family drama, which returns in January with a five-year time jump from where the show left off at the Season 6's midseason finale.

Amy Schumer continues to give us major -- sorry to say it -- #stylegoals.

The star attended the GQ Men Of The Year Party Thursday night in a white minidress we're adding to our dream wardrobe list. Also adding: those chill glam blonde waves.

Schumer recently opened up about the impact of working with her stylist Leesa Evans during an interview about her partnership with Goodwill and Stylefund, an organization that helps women feel empowered through their clothing choices.

"Leesa had given me this gift of showing me how to dress and feel good," she said.

Schumer also rocks it sans clothes in this year's Pirelli calendar in a gorgeous photograph shot by Annie Leibovitz. She shared the image on Instagram earlier this week.

Don't forget to take your daily moment of gratefulness that Schumer is the most famous person right now.

Of course, Kylie made sure to Snapchat her night out at the party:

Jenner took heat this week for an Interview magazine photo spread featuring the reality star seated in a gilded wheelchair.

Just a few days later, Jenner also got a visit from animal control after her Italian greyhound, Bambi, appeared to be underweight. She was cleared of all animal abuse allegations.
