Pharrell Williams' Grammys Hat Strikes Again, Singer Rocks Pink And Green Versions (PHOTOS)

We thought when Pharrell Williams auctioned off his ridiculously famous Grammys hat for charity, it would be the last time we saw the gigantic topper.

Not so fast! The 40-year-old singer/producer was spotted on Monday in a green-hued version of the Vivienne Westwood "Mountain" hat while promoting his new album "Girl" in Paris. In addition, Manchester United stars Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck caught Mr. Williams rocking the hat in fuchsia just a few days prior.

Despite the fact his eye-catching headgear has been compared to the Arby's logo and Smokey The Bear's favorite accessory, Pharrell clearly isn't phased by the mockery -- he has even joined in on the joke and poked fun at himself. And we predict the love affair will continue, since he's still got the black, navy, bordeaux, red and woven straw editions to wear.

Here's a look at Pharrell and his colorful collection of "Mountain" hats. Are you over the look or still digging it?

10 Reasons Outlet Shopping Is The Best Shopping

$

We've had some gripes with outlet shopping in the past, but these days, when the weather has prevented us from doing pretty much anything outside, it's nice to know there are some things to look forward to -- more specifically, shopping outdoors.

But, there's more to love about outlets than their proximity to nature. In fact, there are plenty of reasons to pack up the car (or train!) and treat yourself to an outlet trip.

1. It's a one-stop shop.

From shoes to swimsuits to cookware, there's a store for pretty much anything you could possibly want or need. No need to make multiple stops.

2. You can fulfill your food court cravings.

image

Don't lie, we all get them. Every once in a while we just feel the need to indulge in a pretzel or hot dog, and with all the food offerings available at the outlets, you'll have plenty of opportunities to refuel.

3. They provide a great workout!

image

Feeling full from that pretzel? Not to worry. These places are freaking huge, which equals tons of walking. Plus, shopping is excellent cardio and holding heavy bags is pretty much like weight lifting ... right?

4. Clearance sales on outlet items = mega savings.

There are sales. Then there are clearance sales. Then there are outlet store clearance sales. $20 Marc by Marc Jacobs jeans, anyone?

5. You get a breath of fresh air.

image
After this brutal winter, everyone has spring on the brain. What better way to celebrate warm weather than to SHOP IN IT?

6. They're pretty much everywhere

There are 65 outlet locations in the United States, so, chances are, there's an outlet near to where you are RIGHT NOW. Plus, many are accessible by public transportation, meaning even you city dwellers have a chance to score some great deals.

7. Going to one is like a mini vacation.

car animated gif on Giphy

Feel like getting away for the day? Why not use that as an excuse to stock up on spring essentials?

8. Designer brands at a discount = quality clothing.

Sure, you could get cheap clothes elsewhere, but you can't fake quality. At an outlet, the prices are comparable to those at cheaper stores but are better made.

9. Options, options, options.

Can't find something you like at J. Crew? No sweat. Just head over to one of 5 billion other stores. You'll eventually find something.

10. It can be a fun challenge.

Hear us out: Searching for a great deal is extremely satisfying -- and can become something of a treasure hunt. There's no better feeling than knowing you got the best possible deal. Finding it is half the fun!

Click here to find the outlet center closest to you & happy shopping!

Lena Dunham stripped down to some underwear for a photo shoot for her new book, "Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's Learned."

The "Girls" star posted a handful of photos to Instagram taken by photographer Autumn de Wilde with stylist Shirley Kurata. In two of the shots, Dunham poses in a pair of leopard print underwear and a cropped pink sweater. In another, she wears a coral sweater and briefs.

"It's always a mythic day with @shirleykurata (regram from @officialautumndewilde)," she wrote.

"Puppy Love- a cozy moment with @officialautumndewilde @rozbeauty @shirleykurata for #notthatkindofgirl author photo shoot," Dunham captioned the shot with her rescue dog, Lamby.

"Bc serious authors need serious photos..."

The 27-year-old actress was apparently posing for author shots for her upcoming advice book. Dunham shared the cover with fans in an Instagram post on Feb. 10 and revealed the book is slated for an October 2014 release.

Random House reportedly paid $3.7 million for the publishing rights, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

9 Things To Put On Your Happiness To-Do List

$
0
0
"I heard a definition once. Happiness is health and a short memory! I wish I'd invented it, because it is very true." --Audrey Hepburn

1. Hug more people because you absolutely adore them, and since time changes everything, make sure to hug them now -- make sure to hug them more often. It's a universally free way to tell them that you care. That you're sorry; that your heart aches and craves and desires them. Hug them because it's Wednesday. Because you don't want to say goodbye. Because after three months of silence, you finally have the courage to forgive them. Hug them for no reason at all.

2. Talk to strangers. When you're out at a bar and a guy wearing a checkered button-down shirt approaches you with a splash of confidence, give him the time of day. Talk to him, and the stranger on the park bench eating a raisin bagel. Talk to the women with the bedazzled nails ringing up your produce at the grocery store. The guy devouring some Vonnegut at Barnes and Noble. Embrace the rush of how simple it is to meet a stranger and then, in seconds, feel as though they are no stranger than anyone else who is permanent in your life. Not even a little bit, not even at all.

3. Be open to the idea of dating. When asked, say yes. When there, be present. First impressions are decoupaged in chaotic fear and blistering nerves. The person who you are sitting across from on this an inaugural date may end up being the person who is still sitting with you at 80, when you're wrinkly and up a few bucks in a game of bingo.

4. Wear the most expensive and ridiculous item of clothing in your closet on a random afternoon. Rip off the tags and put it on, just because. Try not to wait for an invitation to the right kind of party or an excuse to wrap your delicate body in something that once dazzled you from a far on a wooden hanger at the store.

5. Tell people you love them. Say it every single day. Say it for the first time as soon as you realize it/when you're petrified/even if you're terribly frightened whether or not they may say it back.

6. Learn how to say please, thank you and I'm sorry.

7. Repeat #6, more often than you'd like.

8. Believe in yourself. Give yourself a good stern talking-to in the mirror every so often in order to migrate around the concept of what you are worth: which is everything, no matter what. No matter if anyone else has ever said differently.

9. Follow your own advice. The words that make the tears sparkle on the cheek bones of a friend come from somewhere. They are alive, within you. It's the very immediate moment after you're through comforting the heart of another that you must also make the decision to believe, to trust, your sudden spoken truth.

Do these things more often, I beg you.

Please, just do them for no reason at all.

If someone told you to use the coal from your barbecue grill on your skin, would you do it? We wouldn't either.

But what if we told you that there are some great beauty products out there that contain activated charcoal powder? Ideal for individuals with oily or acne prone skin, charcoal has been found to remove toxins and bacteria. Although there are a lot of face washes and masks made from charcoal powder, you could also use this unconventional beauty treatment for your hair, body and lips.

If you're willing to go over to the dark side, here are nine charcoal beauty products worth trying:

charcoal products

4. Freeman Facial Polishing Mask, Charcoal & Black Sugar, $3.99: The mix of charcoal and sugar creates quite the cleansing experience.

Michelle Obama Jumps Aboard The Boyish Brows Bandwagon

Nothing sparks an argument here at HuffPost Style quite like these three words -- Michelle Obama's eyebrows.

The first lady's brows have been analyzed (and scrutinized) long before she even stepped foot inside the White House. And we would be remiss not to admit that we've also followed the highs and lows of her brows closely over the years. So, you have to understand why we are making a BIG deal out of Michelle's new boyish brows.

A far departure from the over-arched brows she was known for, Michelle's face is now framed by fuller and thicker eyebrows. The boyish shape reminds us of the look models wore during New York Fashion Week. And it works well with the first lady's everyday minimal makeup.

We're loving boyish brows on Michelle Obama, but what do you think? Check out her transformation in the photos below.

Dear Readers,

If any of you are reading this from New York City, quietly (and quickly) pack up your computer, say goodbye to your loved ones and head for the hills because there is a SHARKNADO happening in your city right now!

Okay, maybe a real sharknado isn't happening (yet), but "Sharknado 2" the sequel to the Syfy movie that defined a generation took the world by storm last Summer is back for another installment of man-eating madness.

"Sharknado" has expanded its regal cast, and not only are original members Tara Reid and Ian Ziering back, but they've also brought along some new meat for the sharks to munch on, namely Vivica A. Fox and Mark McGrath.

But enough reading! You didn't come here for words! You came here for sharks!

Check out the pics below showing what it's like on the set of "Sharknado 2: The Second One" as the sharks prepare to devour the Big Apple:

Here's newcomer Viva A. Fox showin' some shark love:

Watch out behind you, Tara!

Okay, we get it Vivica, you and Sharky really love each other:

Everyone's favorite Sochi Olympics commentators, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, are headed to the Oscars. "Access Hollywood" tapped the vividly-dressed duo for red carpet coverage on Sunday, March 2.

According to "Access Hollywood," the former figure skaters turned viral sensations will join Billy Bush, Shaun Robinson, Liz Hernandez and red carpet fashion correspondent Louise Roe to talk about the gowns and bow ties of the night.

"There is no time that LA shines brighter than during the Oscars and I hope to bring my own special brand of sparkle to the broadcast," Weir said.

USA Today notes that the Sochi Olympics were a first for rookie broadcasters Lipinski, the 1998 gold medalist, and Weir, a two-time Olympian.

We're just psyched we'll get more of these:

7 Insane Weight-Loss Methods From The Past

$

Ever since female beauty -- and worth -- became equated with thinness, women have tried some truly unbelievable ways to lose weight.

In recent months, Jessica Alba wore a corset for three months straight after childbirth to regain her shape, and a Beverly Hills surgeon claimed that patients are paying him $2,000 to sew postage-stamp sized squares of mesh onto their tongues in order to force them onto a liquid-only diet.

Unfortunately, as horrifying and bizarre as these stories sound now, they're hardly isolated incidents. And while we'd like to think that women's relationships with food -- or at least the marketing surrounding some parts of the diet industry -- have gotten slightly more sane in the last few years, back in the day, people tried some seriously wacky things to augment their bodies.

Here are seven unbelievable ways women tried to lose weight in the past, guaranteed to make you want nothing but a healthy relationship with your figure:

1. The "Spot Reducer"

spot reducer

According to an ad placed in the Oct. 1, 1950 issue of The Milwaukee Sentinel, "thousands" have lost weight by using the gadget, "handsomely made of lightweight aluminium and rubber," to "break down fatty tissues."

We suspect the "Spot Reducer" doubled as a rather scary vibrator.

2. Wonder Sauna Hot Pants

wonder sauna hot pants

The premise behind these terrifying garments is that they force you to sweat, thus ridding you of water weight and reducing unwanted inches around your hips and thighs. A similar product was advertised in the 1972 Spiegel Christmas Catalog -- because nothing says "I love you" like pants made of heavy-gauge vinyl. These may have actually helped users drop some water weight, but only temporarily. (And no weight loss is worth wearing such a heinous outfit.)

3. "Slenderizing Salons"

pat ogden

No, these are not instruments of torture. In the 1940s, women voluntarily went to "slenderizing salons" to have their "problem areas" massaged by a variety of Edward Scissorhands-esque machines that claimed to stimulate muscles and break down fat. We remain deeply skeptical.

4. Anklets

anklets

According to this vintage ad, "cankles" have long been an issue. But never fear, these "medicated" anklets and other compression garments (the neckpiece is particularly scary) were invented to "dissolve" your excess fat. Pretty sure that's not how fat works...

5. Vibrating Belts.

vibrating belt

Products like the Nadco Exercise Belt promised to "vibrate" your hips and thighs to slimness. Interested parties can still purchase one of these contraptions on eBay. (We recommend not doing so.)

6. "Fat-reducing" soaps.

obesity soap

Products like this La-Mar "reducing" soap advertised in the 1920s claimed to magically wash away "superfluous" body fat. Sounds perfectly legitimate.

7. Thin Music

thin music

There is no information as to how this record, produced by Wallace Reducing Records, is supposed to work. An accompanying exercise regime? Hypnosis? Brainwashing messages? We'll probably never know.

Planning a trip -- whether it's a two-week vacation or a weekend getaway -- is always exciting. But packing can be quite a pain. Our biggest gripe: carry-on bags that never fit our travel-size beauty products. (What's the point of them being "travel-sized"?)

If you are tired of squeezing your favorite moisturizer, shampoo and shaving cream into cheapie plastic containers that just end up exploding when you're 35,000 feet in the air, then we'd like to introduce you to TravelBeauty.com.

This website has an amazing selection of luxury travel-sized beauty products from brands all over the world. From Swiss face serum to a British manicure set, you'll reach your destination looking better than ever.

Below are seven luxury beauty products to get ready for your next trip. Bon voyage!

travel beauty products

1. Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Shave Stick, $20. This masculine-scented shave stick takes the messiness out of getting smooth results. Ladies, we definitely recommend borrowing from the fellas.

2. S-Heart-S Scalp Brush Mini, $72. Toss that bulky (and hideous) hair brush and pack this scalp-massaging "shampoo brush" instead.

3. Philip Kingsley Swimcap, $18. Protect your strands from the harsh environmental elements with a hair conditioner that also pulls double-duty as a leave-in.

4. Brenda Christian Perfect Brow Gel, $18. If you don't have time to do your makeup, you can at least groom your brows in seconds with this product.

5. Institut Esthederm Repair System Eye Contour Lift Patches, $82. Look well-rested, even if you did end up on a flight with a screaming baby, with these under-eye patches.

6. Elemis S.O.S. Survival Cream, $75. Listen up, guys: That sun-kissed glow you got from laying out on the beach won't be sexy the next day if you don't slather on a hydrating moisturizer.

7. Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes, $24. These bamboo fiber facial wipes were made right here in the good old USA, and they get the job done when it comes to cleansing dirt and oil from the skin.

No one can deny that Michelle Rodriguez parties hard, but she also knows how to take a moment for herself and zen out.

On Monday (Feb. 24), the 35-year-old actress posted a nude photo of herself meditating in an undisclosed location that looked like paradise.

"A sweet break from worldly chaos not missing the city although the mosquitos are killer out here love the peace & quiet," she wrote along with the photo.

Our only question, who took the photo? Cara Delevingne, perhaps?

This 4-Year-Old Makes Paper Dresses With Her Mom -- And They Keep Getting More Amazing

I started following @2sisters_angie a little over a year ago. Back then she was posting the typical stuff you see from moms on Instagram -- pics of her daughter at the park, pics of her daughter eating breakfast and lots of photos of her daughter playing dress-up.

You know, the same stuff I post.

Then, about nine months ago, Angie's feed started to change. It became clear Angie's daughter (she calls her "Mayhem") was more interested in fashion than the average 4-year-old. Mayhem shunned her store-bought princess dresses and started wrapping herself with scarves and sheets creating her own styles.

Then one day Angie got tired of finding her clothes in Mayhem's toy box and suggested they make a dress out of paper. Mayhem loved the idea and they haven't stopped creating paper dresses since.

I've been continually amazed every time Angie's pictures pop up in my feed. The dresses started like this:

1643876

And over the last few months, I've watched them evolve to this:

1643876

Having a 4-year-old daughter of my own, whose biggest fashion moment was putting a red bow around the waist of her green Super Soccer Stars t-shirt and calling herself "Peter Pan," I had a few questions for Angie. Namely...

How much is done by you and how much is done by your daughter?

The ideas are pretty much a 50/50 split, but Mayhem constructs a lot more than most people would probably believe. That's one of the best things about this project, I see her learning new skills every single day. At this point, she knows exactly how many sheets of construction paper she needs to make herself a top and a bottom. She can lay the entire thing out and tape it together all by herself. Definitely, the more complex designs have more of my time invested, but she's literally always beside me learning something new if she's not tearing or taping or gluing while I am.

1643876

Do you have an example of a dress she constructed on her own?

She made the dress below entirely by herself. I wasn't even home and she couldn't wait to show it to me and have me photograph it.

1643876

Are all the dresses made of paper?

Most of the time. We use a lot of construction paper, but we also use tissue paper, wrapping paper, and gift bags. We have also used silk scarves, tulle, and aluminum foil. Basically, if we can find it laying around the house and it's pliable, it's fair game. Clear packing tape and glue are our adhesives of choice.

1643876
1643876
1643876

Where does she find her inspiration? Is she watching runway shows and award shows?

We pull inspiration from wherever we go. The shark dress, for example, came as a direct result of her first visit to an aquarium.

1643876

She also gets a lot of ideas from shows that she watches or books we read, like Minnie Mouse, My Little Pony and Elsa from "Frozen."

1643876
1643876
1643876

Sometimes I'll Google images the day after award shows, so she can see the dresses worn on the red carpet and pick which ones she wants to make.

1643876
1643876
1643876
1643876

We also leave a tab open on our iPad with a search for "project runway dresses" so that we can quickly reference those as well. She's never actually seen an episode of Project Runway, but I did show her a clip one time explaining that there is a show all about making dresses and I thought she might hyperventilate.

1643876
1643876
1643876

Have you always been crafty? Were you a fashion designer in any sense before this started?

No and no. I actually don't consider myself to be the least bit crafty. Don't ask me to build something out of popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners ... you'll be incredibly disappointed! Cutting and taping paper is about all we do. And the most ironic part of this whole project is that I am literally the least fashionable person you will ever meet. In reality, I know nothing about fashion and cannot sew a straight line to save my life. A friend suggested I could start sewing these creations from scraps of fabric and I laughed at her. I'll take paper and tape any day over getting anywhere near a sewing machine!

1643876

Do you think this is going to be a lifelong interest for Mayhem?

After we made our first paper dress, Mayhem requested another the very next day. Then another the day after that. And no one is more surprised than I am, that she still wants to make them nearly 9 months later. I have no idea if it will continue, but as long as she wants to make them, we'll keep doing it.

1643876

Follow @2sisters_angie and #fashionbymayhem on Instagram. You'll be one of the first.

Nate Berkus and his fiancé Jeremiah Brent are breaking fresh ground in the fashion world as the stars of a new Banana Republic campaign.

As The New York Times reported, ads featuring the stylish duo are featured in InStyle and Rolling Stone, among other publications. The "True Outfitters" campaign focuses on pairs of models who are also real-life couples, including Argentinian model and Tulum hotelier Nicolas Malleville and his family and European models Sara Blomqvist and Jeremy Young.

But as the Times points out, Banana Republic is the only clothing retailer to include a same-sex couple in its ads for the aforementioned magazines.

Berkus popped the question to Brent in April 2013 while visiting Peru's Machu Picchu.

1. As stated in her contract, Witherspoon got to keep all of the outfits she wore in the film. Can you say best deal ever? We'll take those "last season Prada shoes," if you don't want them, Reese.

2. You know those opening credits where Elle is brushing her amazingly perfect hair? Welp, that's not Witherspoon. She was in England wrapping up filming "The Importance of Being Earnest." Kind of disappointed.

3. In Amanda Brown's "Legally Blonde" novel, on which the film is based, Elle Woods attends Stanford University. Stanford, however, didn't approve of the script. The producers' second choice, University of Chicago, also refused because of the scene where Elle's professor makes sexual advances toward her. Finally, Elle was accepted at Harvard. Not bad.

9 Times The Women Of 'Scandal' Proved They Know What's Up

$

Shonda Rhimes knows how to bring some pretty badass ladies to life on the small screen -- and the women of "Scandal" are no exception. With the return of the soapy political-fixer drama on Feb. 27, it's worth remembering just why so many of us are hopelessly caught up in the web of Olivia Pope & Associates, despite the fact that almost every character on the show just might be a sort of terrible person. (Two words: red wine.)

Here are nine ways the ladies of "Scandal" get it right:

1. They know when to put their foot down with a romantic partner.

2. They realize that sometimes there's no greater pleasure than contemplating your day with a glass of red wine.

...Or a beer and a "cheers."

3. They don't let powerful men push them around.

4. They know when to put aside their differences with other women and work together.

5. They aren't satisfied just sitting on the sidelines. These women take action.

6. And when it comes to their work, they exude some serious confidence. (No impostor syndrome, here!)

7. They realize that sometimes it's necessary to push back a little to get what you want.

8. They set boundaries in their relationships, romantic and otherwise, when necessary.

9. And they know how to weather a heartbreak with grace.

So, cheers to you, Shonda Rhimes.

Because, really, who can resist women who make entrances like this?
