Joey Fatone Reveals Lustrous Mane Following Hair Restoration Treatment

Joey Fatone, he of *NSYNC fame, is starring in a newly released infomercial for Bosley, the "hair restoration expert." Turns out, Fatone's signature '90s spikes didn't stick around for the new millenium.

"Performing in front of a live audience can be pretty intimidating, so having a full head of hair was important to me," Fatone is quoted as saying in Bosley's press release. "Back then, I was the only one in the group getting thinner on top. I became self-conscious and started wearing hats more often. That's life, but the beautiful thing is that now you can do something about it."

Back in April, rival boy band member AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys revealed he got hair transplants, too.

Martha Stewart's 1989 Letterman Appearance Proves She's The Ultimate Stepford Wife (VIDEO)

Yes, Martha Stewart has always been a punchline, particularly when it comes to any talk about DIY perfection. She's a walking, talking version of Pinterest, even before Pinterest ever existed. She might be some sort of alien sent from a planet where, say, croquembouche is just something everyone knows how to do, where husbands come home to wives gleefully spinning sugar. Because she genuinely said that latter part to Letterman in this clip from 1989.

How To Know When Your Oversized Coat Is TOO Big (VIDEO)

Vogue and HuffPost Style have teamed up for an exclusive series, giving you fresh behind-the-scenes takes straight from Vogue editors based on their weekly video series "From the Vogue Closet."

In the market for a new coat this winter? We're loving an oversized coat, one with a dramatic menswear feel that wraps us up cozily. Luckily, Vogue.com Beauty Director Catherine Piercy agrees with us, showing off her luxe Rag & Bone topper in the "Statement Coat" episode of "From the Vogue Closet."

But nailing the proportions of a bold statement coat is key, Piercy tells HuffPost Style. "If you look in the mirror and have to ask yourself whether you look great or ridiculous, your coat is probably too big. One oversized element -- like a bit of slouch in the body or a big collar -- works well. But if the sleeves are enormous, too, you can start to look like a child playing dress up," she said. "I think it's a mathematical formula to some extent."

But, Piercy assures us, there's no reason not to go crazy with trends. "As long as you're wearing the coat, not the other way around, anything goes," she says (even those wild gorilla sleeves or a crazy print).

And when in doubt? Take some cinematic inspiration. When we asked Piercy to name the best coat in history, she had to call out a famous onscreen moment: Margot Tennenbaum's fur coat in "The Royal Tennenbaums." "Awkward! Perfect! Looks even better with a flat!"

You had us at "flat." Watch the episode above and see more style "From the Vogue Closet" videos at Vogue.com. Shop for oversized coats with Vogue here.

Sears Spins Off Lands' End

$

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (AP) — Sears Holdings Corp. said Friday that it will spin off its Lands' End clothing business as a separate company by distributing stock to the retailer's shareholders.

It's the latest move by the struggling retailer to turn around its results as it faces wider losses and increasingly displeased investors. Sears had said in October that it was considering separating the Lands' End and Sears Auto Center businesses from the rest of the company. It did not mention Sears Auto Center in Friday's announcement.

Belus Capital Advisors analyst Brian Sozzi said the move shows Sears was unable to get a buyer at the right price for Land's End and may raise questions about how much other well-known brand names Sears owns, like Craftsman, are worth.

"It makes you question the value of what Sears is sitting on," he said. "It may have to continue dismembering itself to stay alive today and shrink from inside out. "

Sears has spun off other businesses over the past two years, including its Hometown and Sears Outlet stores and its Orchard Supply Hardware Stores, to raise cash.

Sears Chairman and CEO Edward Lampert disclosed recently that his stake in the company has been reduced to less than 50 percent as investors pulled money out of his hedge fund.

The news underscores the intense pressure facing the billionaire hedge fund manager, who took over as CEO in February to turn around the business.

Sears and the company's Kmart chain have struggled as rivals have lured away customers over the years.

Last year, Sears announced plans to restore profitability by cutting costs, reducing inventory, selling off some assets and spinning off others. Those moves helped it reduce net debt by $400 million and generated $1.8 billion in cash from the asset sales in the latest fiscal year.

Sears also has been building a loyalty program called Shop Your Way, which accounts for 65 percent of its sales and has tens of millions of active customers.

Still, Sears continues to face losses. In November it reported a wider third quarter loss as revenue declined 7 percent to $8.27 as the company marked down goods heavily to move merchandise.

Lands' End, which sells clothing and home goods on the Internet and through catalogs, began in 1963 as a sailboat hardware and equipment catalog, but morphed into a clothing company by 1977. Sears bought the company in 2002.

Sears shares slipped 3 cents to $49.95 in afternoon trading. They are up almost 21 percent so far this year.

17 Times The Fashion Was The Best Part Of The Movie

Forget the plot -- some movies are best remembered for the costumes.

At least, that's how we feel. We appreciate a well-directed film with good cinematography as much as the next film buffs, but some movies capture a style era so perfectly, we can't help but leave inspired to emulate the characters. Flashback Friday: Kanye West As A Kid In China

kid kanye west in china
According to a poster in a Rap Genius forum, this is Kanye West as a child in China at around 10 years old.

Alex Fraknoi posted the rare gem along with the story of how he came across it:
My dad is an astronomy professor, and we just had dinner with his astronomy advisor from Harvard. He asked what I was into and I told him about my ventures into hip-hop (I’m a rapper/producer). He asked if I knew about Kanye West, and obviously being a Ye stan I kept my cool and told him yes. He then told me that him and Donda West were good friends and co-teachers in China, and he got to spend a great deal of time playing with Kanye as a kid. Out of nowhere he whips out this picture and my jaw-drops. He said Kanye was a really sweet kid who wasn’t afraid to speak to adults and ask questions.

Although there hasn't been any official acknowledgment of the photo from Kanye since the photo made its rounds online, Kanye's mom taught in Nanjing as a Fulbright Scholar. She took her son along for the trip, and Kanye has shared stories about his experience there in various interviews throughout the years.

The year 2013 won't be known for Kate Middleton's amazing maternity wardrobe (and subsequent post Prince George-clothes) or Paulina Gretzky's sexy Instagram pics. Nope, 2013 was the year of the haircut and celebrities went nearly mad trying to outdo each other with their cool coifs.

So who came out on top? Well, it wasn't a person per se, but a specific haircut: The pixie. (And we can definitely blame/thank Miley Cyrus for that one.)

Take a look at the top celebrity hairstyles that broke the Internet in 2013:

How Twerking Helps Jonathan Adler And His 'Elves' Stay Out Of Work Ruts (VIDEO)

Silliness is the spice of life, according to Jonathan Adler. And when you're trying to create a world filled with style, craft and joy, like his "elves" at the Fantasy Factory are, you're going to need lots of it. That is, after all, a serious pursuit.

Adler's favorite (albeit totally new) way of channeling it? By taking a hip-hop dance class with his crew. And while the dance part may be uncharted territory, Adler says he's actually been into the music for quite some time.

"When I was just finishing up college and I was in the studio all the time, all I listened to was Public Enemy," he says in the latest episode of the AOL original series "Inspiration Point with Jonathan Adler." "I'm a white Jewish boy from a farm town, but hip-hop culture has always inspired me."

Watch how the designer takes his love for the genre to the next level and gets his team inspired in the process.

Kate Middleton Takes A Style Risk In Velvet Pants... And Aces The Look (PHOTOS)

Kate Middleton's certainly been feeling adventurous this week.

Though we seldom see the Duchess of Cambridge veer away from her classic sense of style, Kate has been testing out some looks that are a bit out of her comfort zone lately. She started off the week in a tiara, progressed to a hair ribbon and now she's dabbling in the velvet pants trend.

During a visit to the Shooting Star House Children's Hospice today, the duchess debuted a pair of navy blue skinny pants paired with black Aquatalia wedge boots and a gray Reiss coat. Experimenting with velvet and mixing neutrals? Verrrrry edgy, Kate. (Perhaps she's learning from her cousin-in-law...)

If you ask us, we say she pulled it all off. But what say you?

Heidi Klum: 'I Wouldn't Model In My Underwear Down The Runway Anymore'

$

0
It's official: Heidi Klum is done with lingerie modeling.

In an interview with Access Hollywood this week, the 40-year-old stunner revealed that she has no plans to return to her Victoria's Secret days and traipse down the catwalk in her skivvies.

"I wouldn't model with my underwear down the runway anymore," she said. "I think that would feel a little uncomfortable." Uncomfortable for Heidi, perhaps, but we have an inkling that more than a few Klum fans will be disappointed at the news.

The model claims that, since celebrating her 40th birthday in June, she was forced to reflect on her age and what that means for her career -- especially since she has no plans to try out plastic surgery. "I've never done anything," she said. "I'd be too scared." Of course, Heidi is doing just fine without routine nips and tucks, and her career is as successful as ever, with or without posing in her undies.

As for the lack of professional lingerie modeling, folks can always check out her Instagram account for some rookie snaps (some of which are taken by her mom, apparently).

These Stars Know Exactly What They're Doing On This Week's Best-Dressed List

$
0
0
This week's best-dressed list was filled with stars who picked the perfect color for their skin tones. Naomi Campbell shone in a bordeaux-colored gown, while Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone proved that mustard yellow can be worn head-to-toe.

Though many ensembles left us in awe this week, our favorite look of the week belonged to Alexa Chung. The fashion plate hit it out of the park in an outfit that achieved the perfect mix of masculine and feminine elements.

Alexa Chung

chung

This is a perfect outfit. The oversized, menswear-inspired coat is a great compliment to her feminine, little white dress, while the red lipstick adds just the right amount of sex appeal. Her tousled waves, graphic clutch and platforms round out the look, making the style icon look fashion-forward yet effortless.

Angie Harmon in Angel Sanchez

angie

The "Rizzoli & Isles" actress achieved perfect balance with this gown. The voluminous top works so well because it is offset by the textured, slim white skirt, while her sleek updo is ideal for the strapless neckline.

Lindsay Ellingson in Sophie Theallet

lindsay

Aah, minimalism at its best. The blue-grey dress is so simple, yet the fit is spot on, which makes it extremely flattering. The Victoria's Secret model went with barely-there makeup and side-swept, straight hair which made the entire ensemble look very clean and elegant.

Lea Michele in Dolce & Gabbana

lea

Lea Michele sure did shine in this dress. Not only is red a great color choice for the season, but the tiny, expertly placed embellishments made sure she was the center of attention.

Lily Donaldson in Marc Jacobs

lily d

Donaldson has managed to look demure in a completely sheer gown. Though her dress is revealing, the long sleeves and hemline, combined with the print, keep our attention on the dress and not what's underneath.

Naomi Campbell in Zac Posen

naomi

This rich burgundy gown looks amazing on Campbell. Not only does the shade work well with her complexion, but the silhouette compliments her long, lean frame.

Rashida Jones in Proenza Schouler

rashida

Though Jones' oversized black dress could have easily skewed sloppy, the deep-V alludes to her slim figure, while her black bralette poking out ensured that she looked sexy.

Evangeline Lilly in Catherine Deane

lily

We're not sure whether it's the embroidered top, the flowing skirt or her effortless braid, but there is something about this ensemble that is so mesmerizing,

Deepika Padukone in Gauri and Nainika

d

Mustard yellow is a tricky shade to pull off, especially when worn head-to-toe, but Padukone managed to make it work since she has the perfect coloring for the hue. The dress itself is very classic and when paired with pulled back hair and chandelier earrings, it makes for one glamorous look.

There Was No Shortage Of Ugly Dresses On This Week's Worst-Dressed List

$
0
0
On this week's worst-dressed list, many stars wore looks that needed to be scaled back. Allison Williams could have landed on the best-dressed list had she not opted for such a massive tulle skirt, while Amy Adams needed to ditch the sheer panel on her dress.

Many stars missed the mark this week, but the most offensive was Lady Gaga's Mona Lisa cape. Though the ginormous Leonardo da Vinci-inspired design freaked us out a little, it was more the fact that Gaga herself was channeling Mona Lisa, with stick straight locks and a ghostly complexion, that made us really squirm.

Check out our picks for worst-dressed of the week and let us know if you agree.

Allison Williams

williams

The top half of Williams' dress is stunning (as is her hair and makeup), but the bottom half is where she loses us. She is wearing way too much tulle and kind of resembles a cake topper.

Marion Cotillard

marion

The French actress consistently makes the best-dressed list, but this week her ensemble was all over the place. Between the embellished bodice, white netting, houndstooth print clutch and dark burgundy lip, we're not sure where to look first.

Amy Adams

amy

Had Adams got rid of the sheer panel at the bottom of her dress, this look would have never made it onto this list.

Rita Ora

rita ora

Ora's black and white fur coat and red lipstick are making her look a lot like Cruella de Vil. And her massive gold headpiece and zebra print sandals make this outfit look even more like a costume.

Sienna Miller

miller

This dress is all kinds of wrong. First of all, it doesn't fit. It's too big through the body, making Miller look sloppy. The necklace is also too heavy for the delicate neckline of her gown, not to mention the entire ensemble is in desperate need of a good steam.

Linda Evangelista

linda

Well, we know the supermodel can do much better than this. The canary yellow dress paired with those stark black tights is a little jarring, while the frock itself is aging her. We also wish she hadn't gone with such a severe bun or that sparkly headband, it's competing with the pattern on her dress.

Cindy Crawford

cindy

Clearly, it was a rough week for supermodels. This black dress isn't doing Crawford any favors. The material is hardly flattering, especially in the bust area, and the shoulder cut-outs are making the arms of the dress look funny.

Katy Perry

perry

Hmm, not sure what's going on here. Though the color is beautiful on Perry, the cape and velvet dress are a little too Renaissance to be on a 21st century red carpet.

Lady Gaga

gaga

We've come to expect weird and wacky things from Lady Gaga, but this is a little bizarre, even for her. Though 10-inch PVC platforms and unflattering bronzer have become de rigueur for the pop star, that Mona Lisa cape left us... speechless.

Christina Ricci

ricci

The top of Ricci's dress doesn't mesh well with the bottom half. The tri-color bodice looks out of place against the animal print and is making the outfit more complicated than it needs to be.

This 1930s Beauty Routine Puts Ours To Shame (VIDEO)

$

Nowadays, we want to get up and out the door looking pulled-together in under 30 minutes. But before this era of hair and makeup shortcuts, most women took their precious time getting ready in the morning.

In this 1937 short film, actress Constance Bennett invites viewers into her home and takes them through her lavish and time-consuming beauty routine. First of all, she wakes up around 7:30am wearing what appears to be a full face of makeup. (We don't recall the last time we slept in that late and awoke appearing so glamorous.) Bennett then slips into her robe, sits at her vanity and applies more face creams than we can count.

While a housemaid attempts to hurry along the star, Bennett goes on to take a warm bath and freshen up her red lipstick. The extravagant regimen ironically ends with the following lesson: "Remember, that to be beautiful and natural is the natural birthright of every woman." If that's natural, we don't know what to call our beauty routines...

Vintage beauty at its finest:

Adriana Lima's Workout Routine Looks Pretty Scary To Us (VIDEO)

$

It's the weekend, and the last thing we want to do is roll out of bed and exercise -- especially after getting a glimpse at Adriana Lima's workout routine.

The Victoria's Secret Angel shows us how she stays in shape in a new video for Self magazine. Between her "areo box upper body cardio" and her intense jump rope session, we'd say this is one intimidating regimen. Sure, Adriana can kick ass with her perfect form and crossover, double-turning jump rope skills, but we'd definitely need some practice if we don't plan on tripping all over ourselves.

Of course, the mother of two doesn't always have time for a proper 30-minute session with trainer Michael Olajide Jr., so sometimes she has to improvise when she has a break from taking care of her kids. "I try to work out during their nap times, or I'll try to go to the gym if possible," she told Celebuzz last year. "If not, I go outside, I'll take a walk, or have a short run, or I jump rope for 10 minutes."

Walking for 10 minutes? We can definitely do that. Now if only we had motivation as effective as the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show...

So how does she find time to shop?

Few symbols are more revered in the fashion world than Chanel's double C's. Thanks to Coco Chanel's refined, edgy-yet-demure taste level, the French fashion house became known as one of the top tastemakers in the industry during her lifetime.

But it's been over 40 years since Coco's death, and her successors -- namely, Karl Lagerfeld -- have taken quite a few liberties with her logo, pasting it on some unconventional products. Just think: Would Ms. Chanel have ever put on a pair of rollerblades?

Below, check out some Chanel logo-emblazoned items that we doubt would've received Coco Chanel's seal of approval.

Heidi Klum Admits She's Scared Of Plastic Surgery

Just in case you needed a reminder that Heidi Klum is naturally beautiful, the 40-year-old model told Access Hollywood that she is too scared to have work done.

"I'm scared that all of a sudden you're changing too much, your face starts changing," she admitted. "I would have a hard time looking in the mirror and seeing something that I'm not used to seeing. I'd be afraid!"

Klum added that when given the option between botox or bangs (for pesky forehead lines), she'll likely opt for bangs. Sounds to us like Klum won't be doing much more than the average human being to ward off the inevitable approach of old age. Guess that means someday she'll actually look like the 95-year-old woman she dressed up as for Halloween:

Gemma Ward Gives Birth To A Baby Girl!

Congratulations, Gemma Ward!

The Australian model and boyfriend David Letts welcomed a baby girl this week. The news was confirmed by IMG Models Australia in a statement given to Frockwriter: "Although IMG doesn't comment on their client's personal life, we are so thrilled for Gemma and her new family and wish them well and much happiness."

Ward's brother Oscar reportedly broke the good news on his Facebook page, where he announced "I am officially an uncle" before deleting the post. Then, Ward's model pal Nicole Trunfio took to Instagram to post a photo of the new mom breastfeeding, which has also since been deleted.

The blonde stunner first hit the modeling world at the age of 15, and her ethereal look allowed her to become one of the most high-profile posers in the biz. After landing more than her fair share of Vogue covers, major fashion campaigns and more "It girl" gigs, she faded away from the scene in 2008, shortly after then-boyfriend Heath Ledger's death. "I set out to really focus inside myself," she told The Sunday Telegraph in 2011 about her decision to take a break.

Now, with a freshly-signed contract with IMG and a new baby, we'd say things are only getting better for Ward.

Welcome to the club, Gemma!
