Yes, flats are more comfortable, but sometimes all an outfit needs is the perfect pair of heels to take it from blah to brilliant.

Amal Alamuddin amped up her plain red dress with a pair of killer floral heels, Kiernan Shipka matched her strappy shoes to her bright dress and Kylie Jenner proved that whatever the question, animal print pumps are the answer. Forget flats, 'tis the summer of sky-high shoes. Unless you're Jessica Alba that is.

Check out of favorite celebrity accessories of the week.

Leave it to Alba to make Dr. Martens look like the must-have accessory of the season. Not only are they insanely comfortable, but they are also the best way to toughen up a floral dress.

Queen Elizabeth Keeps Her Birthday Party Going Two Months Later With Troop Parade

LONDON (AP) — Hundreds of British soldiers in tall bearskin hats and ceremonial dress marched Saturday in central London for the "Trooping the Color" parade, an annual display of pomp and pageantry that marks the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

The queen, who wore a pastel blue outfit, rode in a vintage horse-drawn carriage with her husband Prince Philip, starting from Buckingham Palace. She then inspected more than 1,000 soldiers at Horse Guards Parade. "Trooping the Color" originated from traditional preparations for battle, when flags were carried or "trooped" down the ranks for soldiers to see.

The queen turned 88 on April 21, her actual birth date, which is usually celebrated in private. The monarch traditionally marks her birthday publicly in June.

Other senior royals also turned out for the ceremony: Prince William and his father, Prince Charles, rode on horseback. The Duchess of Cambridge, William's wife Kate, rode in a carriage with Charles' wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, but left her baby boy George at home.

A huge crowd later gathered at Buckingham Palace, where the royal family appeared together on the balcony to watch a ceremonial Royal Air Force fly-past.

Makeovers are only as good as the people behind them. Presenting, in no particular order, our favorite do-it-yourself crew.

2014-06-11-bestDIY1.jpeg
We celebrate great design all the time, but there's a specific part of it that we're addicted to: makeovers. A tiny breakfast nook transformation. An easy kitchen redo. Entire home renos. It's the element of surprise. And it's about time we acknowledge those gutsy bloggers who keep us on our toes (and in suspense) while opening up their homes to us each and every day.

Vintage Revivals2014-06-11-bestDIY2.jpeg
What do you get when you combine a fearless do-it-yourselfer, a passionate believer, and a stop-taking-yourself-too-seriously attitude? Mandi Gubler, that's who. Her no-project-is-too-big attitude has us checking in daily and wondering what she will think of--or make over--next. Our only regret? That she doesn't live next door. Love her as much as we do? You must-see this makeover she created just for domino. (Oh, how we love thee.) See it here.

Young House Love2014-06-11-bestDIY3.jpeg
Are you hooked on YHL? We are too. Our can't-get-enough-of-it addiction with Sherry and John Petersik was kicked off in the very beginning. Sure, while we're constantly amazed by their creations (how do they pull it off?), we're also totally smitten with their ability to admit when projects have gone wrong. As far as DIYing diehards go, the Petersiks have the passion, soul, and skills to run the show.

Old Town Home2014-06-11-bestDIY4.jpeg
Mandatory pit stop: Alexandria, Virginia. That's where you'll find Alex and Wendy, who open their home to passionate makeover addicts all over the world. We've been stopping by and following the adventures behind their Victorian revival since 2011. While there's no renovation too big or small for this tag team, they're also always ready to share when they hit some bumps along the road. And that's why we wish they lived around the corner.

The Design Confidential2014-06-11-bestDIY5.jpeg
Certain transformations tell a story all by themselves. That's how we feel about everything Rayan Turner gets her hands on. Her infallible eye, attention to detail, and smart on-the-fly decisions (how does she always nail it?) make us swoon. And her friendly, witty nature has us wishing she had a hotline for when we needed pointers or a pep talk. Check out this DIY project she created just for us. Talk about a rockstar. Love this wallpaper?

Manhattan Nest2014-06-11-bestDIY6.jpeg
We've been watching Daniel make over places, from an uptown Manhattan apartment to an upstate New York fixer-upper, since 2010. This guy has a knack for flipping things upside down and turning them into brand-new sparkly spaces. While we like to think we can keep up with him when he's in his supercharged "Obsessive Renovation Mode," the reality is we're just as content sitting back and following along.

Remodelaholic2014-06-11-bestDIY7.jpeg
Most couples would say the perfect date night is dinner and a movie. Ask Justin and Cassity, the power couple behind Remodelaholic, and they'd say it's ripping down a wall. And so goes the story of a DIYing duo who is constantly thinking outside the box, re-creating spaces, and sticking to a tight budget. Don't believe us? Check out their $5,000 house transformation.

As Dana Miller's mission statement says, home doesn't happen overnight. And we couldn't agree more. Home is a work in progress, and she's managed to win us over with the projects she takes on every day. Square inches don't get in the way of this do-it-yourselfer. If only those little tweaks were as easy as she makes them seem. One day...

Some blogs you drop in on every day like clockwork, similarly to how you might drop in on a good friend who lives down the road. That's how we are with 320 Sycamore. Melissa invites us into her full house (she's a mom of five) to share her passion for making things over on a budget. After all, the best home renos are an everyone-pitches-in family affair.

Jen's got heart. We couldn't have said it better ourselves. And she doesn't mind a little elbow grease either. (Yet another reason she's on our list.) Everything this blogger touches with her make-it-over gusto has us watching closely and wishing for more. Want to make a coffee table like in this in this photo? Get the how-tos here.

Centsational Girl2014-06-11-bestDIY11.jpeg
We're hooked on the countless remodels by Kate Riley, a lawyer turned DIY fanatic, who gives us a reassuring nudge to go ahead and try this project at home. Her adventures ring true for both the pros and the not-so-handy at heart.

DIY Playbook2014-06-11-bestDIY12.jpeg
Casey and Bridget call themselves rookies. We beg to differ. Any challenge--a budget-friendly cabinet makeover, refinishing a desk, an IKEA hack--that this all-star team takes on always results in a victory. They inject a spirit in each project that makes us feel like we're talking to our BFF--with a hammer in hand, of course. See the special project they've dreamed up for domino.

For the Makers2014-06-11-bestDIY13.jpeg
Sometimes it's comforting to meet do-it-yourselfers who take projects at a sensible pace. You know, so the rest of us can keep up. Janet recognizes that holding a glue gun isn't for everyone and reminds us how great it feels to create something that you want to live with. And we think that's pretty darn cool. Love these votives? Get the how-tos here. (Thank you, Janet!)

Dream Green DIY2014-06-11-bestDIY14.jpeg
Carrie Waller has this brilliant ability to make you feel like you can do anything she does. And that's why we're some of her biggest fans. She attacks every project, big or small, with a down-to-earth approach that keeps us tuning in and picking up the glue gun.

Cuckoo 4 Design2014-06-11-bestDIY15.jpeg
It's Julia's before-and-after projects (button-tufted chaise, dresser makeover, painted curtains) that have us immersed in her projects on a regular basis. Her even-keeled approach to the big and small projects convinces us that we can actually jump in and follow along any day now.

Damask Love2014-06-11-bestDIY16.jpeg
Transformations come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. The best in our DIYing binders are the ones with thoughtful teachers (hello, Amber) who don't hold back when sharing their projects with smarts and step-by-step how-tos. Her vision for turning anything (please check out this creation) keep us coming back for more.

Almost Makes Perfect2014-06-11-bestDIY17.jpeg
Perfection is overrated in our books. That's exactly why we make it a point of seeing what Molly's cooking up every morning. Her sharp style, relatable voice, and candid approach to tackling projects have us 100 percent hopeful that we can join her one day.

Killer B Designs2014-06-11-bestDIY18.jpeg
A few reasons we heart Brooke: the I-don't-mind-giving-it-a-shot mentality, her penchant for color (you know how we feel about ROYGBIV around this office), and how she pulls it off without breaking the bank. There's no doubt that we've caught her makeover fever.

We've seen her rock royal blue, look perfectly pretty in pink and stun in basically every other hue of the rainbow.

Lately FLOTUS has been getting gorgeous in green, starting with last month when she attended the opening of the Anna Wintour Costume Center in an emerald and cream Naeem Khan dress with floral embroidery. Let's just say she knows a good thing when she wears it because she donned back-to-back green looks this past weekend.

We're hoping this is her new favorite color because we're fans! What do you think?

Terry Richardson: 'I'm Okay With Myself About Everything'

$

The latest issue of New York Magazine has quite the intriguing cover story of the infamous Terry Richardson. The title of the piece says it all: "Is Terry Richardson an Artist or a Predator?"

Richardson may be a fashion photographer, but he is perhaps more well-known for his off-camera antics. Some in the fashion world praise him for his work with celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé and Barack Obama, however, shocking sexual assault allegations against the provocative photographer continue to surface.

We suggest you read the entire article on NYmag.com to find out more about the man behind the smile and thumbs-up pose, but we've taken out a few notable quotes that we thought were worth reading.

1. The Internet is "insane" to him.

"Totally craziness. Like a little cancer. People can just do whatever they want, say whatever they want, be totally anonymous. It's totally out of control."

2. Richardson thinks that Facebook message was "corny."

“'I'll put you in Vogue,'" Richardson, in his studio, said bitterly. "So corny. Ridiculous. Who talks like that? When people call me a pedophile and fucking bullshit, that's a horrible thing to say about someone."

3. Models were never alone on his more personal shoots, but things almost always turn sexual.

“It was always assistants, or other people around, or girls brought friends over to hang out. It was very daytime, no drugs, no alcohol. It was a happening, there was energy, it was fun, it was exciting, making these strong images, and that's what it was. People collaborating and exploring sexuality and taking pictures.”

4. The bears in his shoots are just there because...Yeah, just because.

"I don’t know, I like that film 'Ted.' It's great. Teddy bears are great. A lot of that stuff is, I don’t think about, What theme should I explore? Teddy bear. Terry bear. I don't know. But they're comforting, bears.”

5. Apparently his relationship with his parents was tumultuous, but he harbors no hard feelings.

"I have nothing but so much love for my parents. They're artists, and they showed me films and took me to museums and taught me about art and things that I'm eternally grateful for."

6. His raunchiest photographs were supposedly taken in consenting environments.

"When I was taking those pictures..I was very, like, 'Cool, sounds great, let's do it, great, okay, sure, great, cool, if not, no problem, never do anything you don’t want to do, of course, I totally respect that.’"

7. He understands why some people might regret working with him.

“I don't have any regrets about the work at all...but obviously I don't ever want someone to feel like that. It was never my intention. But also, people do things, and then they have regrets, and that's also nothing to do with me. Then don't do pictures like that again...I'm okay with myself about everything, and that to me is the most important thing."

Why You Should Treat Your Feet The Way You Treat Your Face

$

It's finally time for our tootsies to see the light after months of hibernation.

With your first pedicure of the season likely booked and your open-toed shoes poised for the occasion, your feet are ready for some serious TLC.

But Dr. Suzanne Levine, celebrity podiatrist and author of "My Feet Are Killing Me," says a pedicure here and there isn't enough when it comes to foot care. Not only can the salon treatment be dangerous, but Levine stresses we really should be pampering our body's foundation more often.

"People seem to neglect their feet," Levine says, noting that the oversight is a big mistake. "From calluses to cracked skin and nail issues, there's no other part of your anatomy that reflects age as dramatically."

Levine has witnessed clients spend thousands of dollars on Botox, lasers and Chanel suits only to look down and spot wrinkles, bunions and fungus south of the ankles. "Beyond beauty, what's even more important is that our feet are also often the first to show signs of more serious problems like arthritis, diabetes and vascular disease," she adds.

So from fashion to function, Levine's mantra is treat your feet the way you treat your face. Here's how:

1. Soak
pedicure
Levine suggests you kick things off by soaking your feet for 5-10 minutes in warm water and Epsom salt, which helps eliminate toxins in the body. Aim to soak twice a week during sandal season since your feet are exposed to so many elements this time of year.

2. Scrub
pumice stone
In addition to washing your feet from top to bottom, make sure to scrub between your toes and underneath your nails. Levine recommends keeping a pumice stone in the shower and using it at least three times a week to exfoliate the skin and combat build up. "The key is minimizing callus formation," she says. "You'll notice your feet will start to feel as smooth as a baby's."

3. Mask
lotion feet
Levine uses a clay mask every two weeks to help remove oil and impurities deep within the skin, which will leave your tootsies looking and feeling refreshed (and smelling nice). For some extra care, she steps up her routine with a full-on foot facial once a month. The procedure at her New York City office also includes a glycolic peel, microdermabrasion and a collagen-promoting copper cream.

4. Massage
massage feet
A good rubdown will "bring oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and take away wastes," writes Levine. Massage your feet frequently -- every day if you can -- with motions towards the heart (the direction of circulation) and your whole body will thank you.

5. Moisturize
moisturize feet Levine swears by products that contain at least 20 percent Urea, an ingredient that penetrates the skin to keep it soft and supple. As for nails and cuticles, she opts for olive oil or almond oil for hydration. Her best advice for moisturizing is to lotion up each night, paying special attention to the heels. "Put some socks on, go to sleep and give your feet a good rub with the pumice stone in the morning," she says.

6. Trim
trim toenails
Your nails are arguably the main focus of your feet, so be careful when you're clipping. "Cut them straight across and don't cut into the sides," urges Levine. "Otherwise, you could get painful ingrown nails."

7. Whiten
toenails
Last season's dark polish might have left your nails a little dull. Levine applies a mix of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to brighten them, but if they're really looking yellow, she breaks out a laser for professional-strength whitening.

8. Protect
sunscreen feet
Levine's final tip is no joke: wear sunscreen! One of the few body parts we rarely remember to apply sunscreen, be sure to slather it on from head to toe when you go out and about this summer.

10 Ways Wedding Planning Prepares You For Marriage

$

By Sharon Naylor for Bridal Guide

From the time you get engaged to your big day, with every decision you make and hurdle you overcome, you're putting all kinds of wisdom into play. You're also fine-tuning skills that can help build a successful marriage, such as sticking to a budget, navigating family politics and knowing when to take a de-stressing break from it all.

Apply these learning experiences from your wedding-planning journey to your future together:

1. Don't let money fights tear you apart.

Financial disagreements can strain even the happiest of marriages. According to a study by The National Survey of Families and Households, couples who argue about money once a week are 30 percent more likely to divorce than couples who report fighting about finances a few times each month. In order to protect your marriage, take your family budget seriously and be patient for those big things that you want, whether it's a new car or maybe even a baby.

If you went over-budget for your wedding (many couples do!) make it a goal to live within your means now. Start by recording everything you spend over the course of a month — and we do mean everything — in an easy program like Quicken or Mint.com. Next, see what you can take a break from or scale back on, like going out to eat two times a month instead of six. Even little things like choosing affordable cuts of meat when grocery shopping and filtering water from the tap instead of buying water bottle cases can add up to big savings.

As you may have already learned with unexpected wedding expenses, it's also crucial to have an emergency fund, especially if you own a house or car that could need pricey repairs.

2. Make time for your other favorite people -- they helped make you who you are.

During the wedding-planning process, you likely involved your parents and siblings somehow, whether it was inviting them to your gown-shopping appointment, honoring your family history with a photo table, or other thoughtful gestures. During your marriage, make a plan to connect with both of your immediate and extended families on a regular basis.

If you live far away from them, set up a Sunday Skype date and send thoughtful emails or texts just to see how they're doing. Share family traditions with your spouse: holiday traditions, recipes, great stories, visits to your families' favorite places and any other insights into your family life before this new life you're sharing.

Let go of family drama. Just like a squabble over the budget or guest list may have stressed you out, family dramas can also create tension in your marriage. Stay out of the fray, forgive what you can and don't get sucked into attention-seeking ploys. Embrace the happier, more positive people in your life, whoever they may be.

3. Gratitude is essential to leading a happy life!

Just like you sent thank-you notes for wedding gifts you received, it's just as important to say "thank you" to anyone who adds light and laughter to your world during your marriage. It might be for a dinner your parents took you to, the wheelbarrow your neighbor lent you when you were putting in your garden or anything sweet your husband does for you. Everyone wants to feel that they are appreciated.

Keep a gratitude journal in which you record five things that made you happy that day. This will ensure that your mindset stays balanced even during challenging times. It makes you a happier person to be around, which is contagious!

kisses

4. The couple that plays together, stays together.

One of the biggest wishes among engaged couples planning their weddings is that the entire event be a ton of fun. A great band or DJ. Interactive food stations. Photo booths. Weddings are unforgettable experiences for guests.

Make your marriage stronger by incorporating lots of play, inside jokes, and new activities, as well as making time for the things you already love to do together.

5. Honor each other’s boundaries.

Make your marriage stronger by engaging in open communication. Rather than just saying "no" when your partner comes to you with a request or vice versa, take the time to explain why you feel this way, listen to each other and prioritize one another's feelings. You both need to understand where the other is coming from in order to make decisions that honor you and your partner's comfort level and values.

It's all about teamwork in a happy marriage, which stems from compromise and balance. Neither of you is the boss — resentments can boil over when one partner feels like they're getting overruled all the time. Come up with an agreement that neither of you should have to do something you feel strongly against or uncomfortable with, and make an effort to mix up the decision-making.

6. Stay flexible and have a Plan B just in case.

Smart wedding planning involves having a back-up plan: an indoor space for the ceremony in case it rains or an alternative bouquet in case your floral designer can't get an out-of-season bloom.

In your marriage, don't get so hung up on having things go according to your timetable that you're absolutely devastated if your original plan doesn't work out. It's not about what happens to us; it's how we bounce back.

7. Nobody wins when you try to keep up with the Joneses.

Even if your best friend had a $100,000 wedding and yours was just a tiny fraction of that, it doesn't mean that your big day was any less awesome or special. Although it's natural to get envious sometimes, it's not worth acting on by trying to outcompete or match what someone else has — many negative things can spiral out from there.

The same goes for the home you choose to live in, the furniture you buy, the car you drive and so on. No one wants to feel like they're not doing well enough in life. So, how do you tame that green-eyed monster? Again, we’re back to #3: gratitude makes life fabulous! Let the Joneses be the Joneses and you live your wonderful life filled with beautiful people and your own special touches to the things you do have.

8. The people you hire had better be good.

You put a lot of time and energy into researching, interviewing and hiring the best wedding vendors. The same goes for hiring real estate agents, doctors, contractors... the experts you can't afford to entrust your home (or your life) to without fully investigating them and investing in the best.

You know that when you hire someone without doing due diligence, you're more likely to get crummy service and bad results. You don't want that with your plumbing or your health.

9. Every now and then, get away from it all and get back to being "you."

When stress builds up, it’s not pretty. You may find yourself snapping over minor things, sleeping poorly, overeating, skipping workouts, breaking out...stress is bad news for you and for everyone who loves you. Every now and then, make time to go on a vacation as part of your "happy me, happy us" plan. And even if you can't get away because of budget or time, find ways to switch up your scenery like checking out shops in a nearby town or going for a hike.

Whether you revisit your honeymoon resort, check into a quaint bed and breakfast a few hours away or even just take a day trip somewhere, the important thing is to recognize when you and your spouse are overworked from the daily grind. Escaping your to-do list and unplugging for a few hours/days will dial down your stress levels and make you better partners.

10. Be present –- it all goes by too fast.

The wedding day passes by so quickly — one minute you're slipping that ring on your groom's finger and the next minute, the band is announcing that this is the last song of the night. You didn't even get to eat very much of your wedding menu! In your marriage, as in your wedding, make sure you stop, look around, and take in every detail.

Be fully present and you won't look back on your life saying, "There's so much that I didn't take the time to appreciate and enjoy." Enjoy every moment to the fullest.

Why Miss USA Nia Sanchez Dismissed Suggestions To Change Her Last Name

The pageant circuit is filled with plenty of peculiar tips -- look no further than butt glue, ladies -- but there was one “crazy” piece of advice the newly crowned Miss USA refused to take.

Nia Sanchez, 24, stopped by HuffPost Live on Thursday to chat with host Caitlyn Becker about her newly acquired title, the legacy she hopes to leave Latinas and why she refused to change her last name when she began competing as a beauty queen.

During a fan question portion of the segment, Crystal Brown-Tatum asked Sanchez about the legacy she’d like to leave young Latinas who now see the half-Mexican beauty queen as a role model.

“I would just like the women -- in the Latina community or even any community across America -- just to know to continue to try and never give up, and pursue your dreams,” Sanchez answered the viewer. “I have been competing for five years and being on the stage of Miss USA and “hopefully” being Miss USA was my dream and it’s something that came true with persistence. So I just always want to encourage women to do that, especially as a Latina woman.”

After a brief pause, Sanchez added that she had once been advised to hide her heritage by changing her name.

“I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone this, but I had someone tell me ‘You should change your last name. Your last name is Sanchez, you should go by like a “stage name” because you might have a better chance.’ And, you know, I’m proud of who I am and I definitely did not follow that advice,” the beauty queen said.

While the model may consider the suggestion absurd, many Latino artists and actors like Andy Garcia and John Leguizamo have revealed they were urged to do something similar to conceal their background.

When asked whether she ever “second guessed” herself after being told to change her last name, the Miss USA winner assured Becker she didn’t even give the suggestion a second thought.

“I really didn’t. At the time I just kind of thought that they sounded crazy, to be honest. I was like ‘What! Change my name? No, I love my name.’,” Sanchez said. “So it was just weird to get that advice from somebody. I had never even had that thought cross my mind before.”

Watch Sanchez address the “crazy” suggestion and diversity in the Miss USA competition above and the full HuffPost Live interview below.

These People Were Rocking Mom Jeans Way Before Vogue 'Made Them Cool'

Here at HuffPost Style, we're not exactly the biggest fans of wearing jeans. But when we found out that so-called "mom jeans" were coming back in style, our hearts (and our waists) couldn't help but sing their praises. Because really, what could be better than a high-waist pant and tapered leg?

Of course, this style of denim is far from new. Way before Vogue started making how-to-look-sexy-in-them videos, these people were showing us the ropes (perhaps unintentionally) for years. And while we're all about a good tutorial, we have to give credit where it's due.

In honor of the comfy comeback, we've rounded up our favorite wearers of the mom jean trend. Take notes, folks. This is how it's done.

Runway To Recovery: Watch GLAM4GOOD Help 8 Homeless Women Feel Beautiful

Rachel hit bottom. She was no longer taking care of her children or talking to her family. "I was pretty much living on the streets doing things I never imagined I would be doing ... stealing, lying," she said. "I hated myself and was absolutely miserable. I wanted to die." Her parents frantically searched the streets of Flint, Michigan, looking for their daughter, hoping to find her so they could plead with her to come home and get help. Rachel, who chose not to disclose her last name, says, "Seeing them react to how bad I looked when they found me and hearing them say how much my kids needed a mom made me realize that there were still people who loved me." That was the moment Rachel knew she needed to turn her life around and, as she says, be the "woman and mother God intended [her] to be."

Rachel's family took her to Grace Centers of Hope, the largest and oldest faith-based outreach shelter for homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families based in Pontiac, Michigan. Grace Centers of Hope provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Dr. Kent Clark runs the center with the help of his wife Dr. Pam Clark. They first reached out to GLAM4GOOD four years ago to help the shelter stage a fashion show for their annual fundraiser. Dr. Clark believed it would be important to include the women living at the shelter alongside the professional models in the fashion show. "I knew that participating in the GLAM4GOOD experience would give the Grace Centers of Hope women the chance to feel beautiful. These women are working to change on the inside, and now have the opportunity to see this new, beautiful woman reflected on the outside," he said. "The GLAM4GOOD makeover presents a one-of-a-kind experience for women, like Rachel, who have faced many challenges in life. This makeover gives these women more confidence in themselves and the opportunity to see all the people who care for them and are rooting for their success."

So for the fourth year in a row, Mary Alice Stephenson and her GLAM4GOOD team traveled to Michigan to stage and style a show as part of a charity luncheon, the proceeds of which aid Grace Centers of Hope. They had just 24 hours to create a world-class fashion show to raise money and awareness and to pamper the women from the shelter who model in the show.

Rachel says Grace Centers of Hope changed her life. She has developed a strong relationship with her family and learned to forgive and love herself again. Because of all the hard work she has done to get on her feet, she was given the opportunity to be in the GLAM4GOOD fashion show. The experience inspired her: "Seeing all the girls from the shelter so happy and looking so beautiful empowered me. I know all their struggles and how far they have come to feel beautiful." According to Dr. Clark, participating in the show and receiving the star treatment from the GLAM4GOOD team acts as a huge confidence booster for the women and greatly improves their self-esteem.

"My mom cried through the whole fashion show," says Rachel. "She said that at the moment I came on stage and my son jumped up to hug me and we walked down the runway together, she felt so proud."

The fashion show raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the shelter. Dr. Clark says, "Because of this show, the Grace Centers of Hope women experienced tremendous generosity, love and support from people who are trying to make a difference in their lives. They recognized they are not struggling alone. Thank you GLAM4GOOD, Suave Professionals and all the incredible fashion designers and accessory brands that contributed to making these women feel so special."

How can you help people in crisis. Dr. Kent Clark gives GLAM4GOOD his top 5 Healing Tips:

1. Become Informed
  • Research issues of abuse, homelessness and addiction, especially as it relates to women and children.

2. Offer Support
  • Volunteer your time at a shelter to help those who need it most.

  • Give financial resources -- you can commit to a certain dollar amount each month, or provide a one-time donation of whatever you can afford.

  • Host a fundraiser.

  • Engage your personal network of family, friends and colleagues.

3. In cases of abuse..
  • Support a women in her decision to leave.

  • Be a source of comfort.

  • Look for resources available in your local community.

4. In cases of addiction..
  • Find a support group for the addict.

  • Find a support group for yourself and your loved ones affected by the addict.

  • Recognize signs of addiction and learn the difference between helping and enabling.

  • Don't give in to manipulation.

  • Don't wait for the situation to become unmanageable -- reach out for help now.

5. In cases of homelessness..
  • Recognize that not all homeless individuals are the same -- all have a different reason for becoming homeless: addiction, mental illness, financial problems, domestic abuse, etc.

  • Talk to the homeless with respect, and engage them in a friendly manner to provide them with a sense of civility and dignity.

  • Give the gift of food and clothing, not cash, to those living on the streets.

Baby Mary From '3 Men And A Baby' Is All Grown Up

Twenty-seven years after "3 Men and a Baby" hit theaters, the identical twin actresses who played Baby Mary are all grown up. Funny how time works like that.

Lisa Blair and Michelle Blair Ontonovich were just 4-months-old when they took turns playing Mary Bennington alongside Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg in the 1987 box office smash. If you were wondering what ever happened to the Blair sisters, well, the "Today" show has it covered.

The sisters stopped by Monday, June 16, to chat with co-host Savannah Guthrie about their experience (of which they obviously have no recollection). So what was it like to grow up and realize they were part of such a huge movie?

"At first, when we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all," Michelle explained. "I think it was when we became teenagers, people started coming up to us a lot more …"

"Asking us for our autographs and everything," Lisa said, finishing her sister's sentence.

The sisters didn't explain how anyone would have recognized them as teenagers from the role they played as infants, but it apparently happened.

These days both Blair sisters have left Hollywood behind them. Lisa, who also appeared in "Morella" in 1999, works in customer service, while Michelle works in the insurance industry and is married with a 5-month-old son.

Tune into "Today" all week to see more of Hollywood's box office babies all grown up.

Kylie Jenner's Plunging Jumpsuit At The MMVAs Is Really, Really Racy

Is Kylie Jenner's stylist aware that the reality star is just 16?

Kylie and her 18-year-old sister, Kendall Jenner, apparently took turns when it came to who dared to wear the raciest outfit while they hosted the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday, June 15.

Kendall made headlines for arriving in a beaded Fausto Puglisi gown with side-slits so high her pelvic bones were visible, but Kylie waited until her final costume change to break out the really age-inappropriate attire.

After a number of sparkly minidresses, Kylie donned an Alon Livne jumpsuit with a plunging neckline that must have required some serious use of double-sided tape.

We seriously doubt Kylie has ever been told she's "not leaving the house in that."

The Best Hair Products for Men, Made Simple

This article was originally published on AskMen.

Men's hairstyles continually evolve with new trends, and with each trend comes a slew of new hair products. Just like the shoes and clothes you wear, the way you style your hair says a lot about your sense of fashion and personality. But before you decide on your next hair-spiration, read on to find out what these hair products can do for you. These products each form distinct textures and styles for various hair types, which might be overwhelming if you don't know exactly what you need. That's why we're here to help you get your hair looking as good as you've always wanted with this simple guide to wax, clay, pomade, gel, and cream.

Wax

This versatile product can help you achieve great hairstyles, from relaxed bed-head to more controlled looks. Good for short to mid-length hair, wax can deliver long-holding style, without adding grease or looking shiny. As your day progresses, hair wax will allow you to reshape and restyle accordingly, without getting your hands sticky. As long as it is evenly distributed, wax can lend you an effortlessly roguish look.

How To Use: Shake the bottle. Dispense a small amount in one hand and apply to your hair with both hands. Style your hair to your liking and blow dry for maximum hold.

To Try:

Fekkai Coiff Nonchalant Wax

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.03.21AM.png

For easy, messy hair, this matte piecing and forming wax from Fekkai will do the trick.

Lock Stock & Barrel Classic Wax

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.03.53AM.png

This strong-hold wax is a cut above, and a barber go-to, with its pliable texture and moderate shine.

Toni & Guy Spray Wax

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.05.41AM.png

Unlike the previous two, this wax allows you to style without getting your hands sticky, and it's easy to use on both short and longer layers.

Putties and Clay

Wax's hardcore cousins, putties and clay, can be used in much the same way as any strong-holding matte product. These are great for accomplishing the messiest-looking hairdos with pretty much any hair type, and can even help add thickness to naturally thin manes. Clays and company will create defined strands and a pliable texture that won't give itself away with any shine.

How To Use: Like wax, use your fingers to texture and tousle the areas that you want to style. Clay isn't sticky, but it can leave a gummy residue on your fingers if you use too much.

To Try:

Baxter of California Clay Pomade

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.06.12AM.png

This award-winning (Men's Health Best Styling Product, and Reader's Digest Best Wax) lemon and sage-scented clay from Baxter of California is a great option for anyone needing control of their hair.

Lock Stock & Barrel Clay

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.06.47AM.png

Clays are great for adding volume and texture to any style, and this one from Lock Stock & Barrel is a perfect example. It can be used on damp or dry hair.

Aveda Pure Performance Grooming Clay

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.07.14AM.png

This Aveda product is a top contender with its strong-hold, matte finish and slight citrus and spearmint smell. It's made from organic essential oils, so it won't damage your hair after prolonged wear.

Pomade

A clever blend of wax and oil, a good pomade will help you achieve the classic look made popular by Leonardo DiCaprio (think The Great Gatsby) and Mad Men's Don Draper. Pomades are primarily used to bless hair with extra shine and softer texture, which makes them especially great for curly hair. When choosing a pomade, look for one that's water-based so it's easy to wash out.

How To Use: Using your fingers, spread a small amount of pomade to the areas that need a little extra shaping or texture. Be careful not to use too much to avoid your hair looking greasy.

To Try:

Murray's Original Pomade

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140616at10.36.41AM.png

From a company who clearly cherishes brand value, Murray's Original Pomade is simple and modest, yet has earned itself a devout celebrity fan club (Justin Timberlake includes himself as a member).

Uppercut Deluxe Pomade

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.01.25AM.png

Perfectly water-soluble, this product is particularly popular among those who rock the slickback, or other more hardcore 'dos. Consider that a testament to its strong-hold ability and street cred.

Bumble and Bumble Semisumo Pomade

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.02.21AM.png

Made of only six ingredients (such as beeswax and coconut oil), this high-shine pomade is designed to soften hair and control frizz.

Cream

For the most natural look, a quality cream will simply add a touch of shine and lustre for a healthy-looking head of hair. Perfect for wavy, curly, and longer locks, cream is a great grooming product that can help eradicate frizziness when used on wet hair. Compared to stiff wax or heavy gel, creams offer a light texture, which can also help soften coarse hair. For inspiration, you can look to Brad Pitt in The Counselor or World War Z.

How To Use: Creams can be used as a main or finishing product. Start by distributing a small amount from your hands to your hair, and reapply as needed. For those with longer hair, you can concentrate on treating the ends to help diminish dead-end frizziness.

To Try:

Billy Jealousy Forming Cream

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.08.01AM.png

A great styling aid, this is a perfect hair product for creating all the shape and movement you've been craving. Its lavender and rosemary scent is an added plus.

Paul Mitchell Shaping Cream

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.08.23AM.png

Designed to give your hair ample texture and definition, this tea tree cream dries matte so that your hair looks as natural as possible.

Malin+Goetz Sage Styling Cream

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.09.35AM.png

This product is intended for all-day use, without adding weight or grease. It is made from natural ingredients, like chamomile and verbena, so it smells and feels great.

Gel

Good for thick hair, gel's primary function is to keep hair in place. Hair gel can be used to attain some of the most old-school looks, like the ones sported by Elvis, or John Travolta in Grease. Slick and stiff, it can be applied to wet or dry hair for different effects. Gel tends to make hair shiny, which is probably what has earned its reputation as the modern day hair grease.

If you're happy with keeping the same look from dawn until dusk, gel will deliver exactly that. That said, you might want to consider a different option if you're prone to running your fingers through your hair. Once dried in position, gel can break from its shape, or flake, if meddled with.

How To Use: Start with a small coin-sized portion of gel in your hands. Apply to wet or dry hair, and style as usual. You can use a blow dryer for maximum hold or let it dry naturally (it will look shinier). As previously mentioned, refrain from retouching once the gel is dry to avoid flaking.

To Try:

Hanz de Fuko Gel Triq

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.10.25AM.png

Your basic gel, this high-shine plant-infused product from Hanz de Fuko will hold a 'do for long periods of time without flaking.

Jack Black Body Building Hair Gel

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140508at10.10.03AM.png

Lightweight and non-flake, Jack Black's Body Building Gel is formulated to add volume and luster to any kind of hair. Plus, it's unscented, for those who don't like strong odors or fragrances.

Mousse

Mousse really isn't our favorite kind of hair product, mainly because it's annoying to use (it's foamy in the hands and feels crunchy when it dries) and because you can accomplish similar, easier effects with other types of hair products. That said, there are a few good mousse options out there and it can be used fairly successfully on thin hair. Especially when used in combination with a blow dryer, mousse can lend extra volume.

How to use: Use when hair is damp, starting at the roots of your hair. Style as usual, and let dry naturally or with a blow dryer.

To try:

Aveda Phomollient™ Styling Foam

2014-06-16-ScreenShot20140616at10.36.26AM.png

Not strictly speaking a mousse, Aveda's styling foam is a great product to use against thin, flat hair -- plus it's easy to apply. It's also made from natural ingredients so you don't have to worry about chemicals often found in other mousse alternatives (we suggest that you beware of anything that comes in an aerosol can).

Which Hair Product Is Right For You?
Hopefully, you'll find a product that best reflects your hair and style needs. Just remember: Whatever product you opt for, make sure it contains no alcohol, and try to find products with UV sunscreen protection and moisturizing characteristics to maintain healthy hair.

Miley Cyrus Shares Topless Pre-Shower Selfie, Because She's Miley Cyrus

At this point photos of Miley Cyrus sans shirt are about as common as days that end with "y."

The 21-year-old pop star treated the Internet to a "#preshoweralfalfaselfielife" that featured the singer topless, wearing only underwear. Supposedly her hair is gelled up like Alfalfa from "The Little Rascals," though we're definitely getting more of Cameron Diaz in "There's Something About Mary" vibe from her 'do.

Cyrus followed up her topless photo with a bikini selfie that she captioned "#postshowerinstagramwhoreselfielife."

10 Shocking Bedroom Makeovers

2014-06-16-BA1.jpeg

There's no such thing as a boring bedroom. There are such things as a sleeping space that needs some recharging. From the bland and undecorated to the hideous and overdone rooms, give those tired eyes something happy to wake up to.

Before #1: Desert of White
2014-06-16-BA2.jpeg
It's true that many people prefer to sleep in a sea of soothing whites. We're totally into that. Calm whites needn't be boring. All of these elements-drab duvet, undecorated windows, bare walls-are calling out for some serious help.

After #1: Pop-y Oasis
2014-06-16-BA3.jpeg
Walls The walls were painted a pale shade of gray. A piece of stretched canary yellow canvas doubles as art and makes a striking alternative to a headboard.
Bedding Swap This couple chose a gender neutral navy-and-white combo for the bedding.
Key Pieces Nightstands were refinished thrift store finds; now things can be hidden behind doors. Since the bedside lamps had looked insignificant next to the king-size bed, gourd table lamps took their spots to balance out the bed's expanse and add drama.

Before #2: Turquoise Takeover
2014-06-16-BA4.jpeg
This charming cottage guest room needed some serious color redirecting. Paint is great in the bedroon. A random coat of paint is not.

After #2: Sleepy Space
2014-06-16-BA5.jpeg
Floors This room needed some serious brightening up. You can't see it, but the light wood floors were layered with a seafoam green rug (that's where you get your color).
Windows Gauzy curtains framed the windows to give them a light and airy vibe.paint The walls, trim, and headboard were painted a calming shade of white.

Before #3: Tight Quarters
2014-06-16-BA6.jpeg
Not all bedrooms are wide and expansive. Don't give up on a space just because it's short on square inches.

After #3: Out of the Blue
2014-06-16-BA7.jpeg
Work With What You Have The bedroom had one impressive dimension: height. Take advantage of it with some tried-and-true tricks. Choose a headboard and bedside tables that are taller than normal. (Usually, bedside tables are the height of the mattress, but this was a decorator's trick to open up the space.)
Store Smart Since the space is small, it was essential to think creatively to accommodate all of the stuff. Opting for dual dresser drawers, rather than nightstands, makes room for extra clothing and blankets. The high bed allowed for under the bed space, which can be easily concealed by a pretty skirt.
Work the Windows Hanging drapes close to the ceiling will also give the illusion of a larger space.

Before #4: Character-less Setup
2014-06-16-BA8.jpeg
It's nice to have a room with a view. Better to have a room with a view that you can take advantage of every morning. This room was calling for some clutter control and serious decorating decision making.

After #4: Be Spare, Not Boring
2014-06-16-BA9.jpeg
Pattern Play Low-ceilings can make a room feel very cramped. Pretty much claustrophobic. To accentuate the sense of openness--but prevent the room from being boring--a few key graphic pieces were introduced into the space. The squares on the ivory bedspread and the moorish design of the robin's egg-blue rug play off each other.
Hang Art The painting adds another visual dimension and keeps the room from looking like a catalog.
Keep Palette Cohesive To prevent a visual distraction, the window frames were painted white to match the walls.

Before#5: Dark and Drab
2014-06-16-BA10.jpeg
And in our books that is no way to describe your bedroom. This sleeping spot is cramped-100-square-feet, to be exact. The overall space is weighed down by dark linens and exposed wood floors. Feels pretty darn depressing to us.

After #5: Lighten Up
2014-06-16-BA11.jpeg
Swap Out the Linens Say goodbye to the dark comforter. We're all about the white duvet. Layering white on white will actually give your room a reason to breathe. (We love this white duvet!)
Paint the Walls We love color, but we truly believe in the power of white. Have a little faith in the mighty hue. The walls were plastered in an ivory shade (try "Ancient Ivory" from Benjamin Moore).
Focus on the Floors Old wooden floors were dull, dark, and calling out for some TLC. A high-shine polish treatment brought them back to life.
Make an Entrance When the space is small, you'll notice-and stare at-everything. That door just felt creepy. Rather than replacing it, the homeowner refinished it with multiple applications of glossy walnut.

Before #6: Blank Space
2014-06-16-BA12.jpeg
What to do with a bare space? If you have a spare room (lucky duck), turn it into a guest bedroom.

After #6: Work in Color and Pattern
2014-06-16-BA13.jpeg
Add Visual Interest Crown moldings were installed, which can transform the room into an entirely different space.
Look Up For a truly unexpected touch, cabbage-rose wallpaper was hung on the ceiling. It's a smart decorating trick, which draws your eye up and away from the sides of the room.
Choose the Right Paint High-gloss oil paint, which was used on the moldings and trim, is easy to clean and adds a little sheen.

Before #7: Starting at Zero
2014-06-16-BA14.jpeg
A blank canvas can seem like a homeowner's dream come true. That is, until you realize that there are just so many options available. Afraid to make the wrong decision? Don't be.

After #7: Punch Up the Color
2014-06-16-BA15.jpeg
Embrace Color Before you make any major moves, decide on a palette. Soft pinks and lavenders feel fresh and not too girly when they're used in bold, graphic ways. The trick is working different patterns in a cohesive colorway. There's something soothing about a space that has color when the shades complement-don't compete with-one another.
Pick the Right Patterns Stick with the palette and build on it with prints and patterns. A kimono-inspired linen headboard, ikat pillows, and matelassé bedding work off one another.
Bring in Metallics Vintage brass lamps introduce masculinity to the pastel party.

Before #8: Desperately Seeking a Change
2014-06-16-BA16.jpeg
A bland palette is not a bad thing. However, it can be quite a bore. (Insert yawn.) This room is calling for a little color.

After #8: Playful Palette
2014-06-16-BA17.jpeg
Make Smart Choices If you're one of those people who likes to decorate their bedroom frequently, focus on easily changeable elements. Cue the linens. This bed went from an oasis of white to sophisticatedly comfortable with paisley pillow shams, a navy linen skirt, and a cashmere throw.
Embellish, Embellish, Embellish Rather than replace the tan wool curtains, they were updated with pom pom trim. Hello, budget-friendly idea.
Lay the Groundwork Don't forget the floors. Rugs are a great way to layer on the color. Plus, it's nice for feet to step on something soft in the morning.

Before #9: Teen Feels Trapped in Pink (Do You Blame Her?)
2014-06-16-BA18.jpeg
This bedroom is all about little girl frills and princess-inspired pastels.

After #9: Meet Miss Maturity
2014-06-16-BA19.jpeg
Focus on Texture Welcome a bit of a refined plushness, which included a cushy wool rug and a leafy-hued faux-suede headboard.r
Remember the Rainbow Pink is not the only color for girls. A lush, garden-esque medley of greens-avocado, emerald, celery-feels organic and like a grown-up space.
Play with Pattern A custom lattice-print bed skirt introduces just the right amount of polish.

Before #10: Dazed and Confused
2014-06-16-BA20.jpeg
The person occupying this space is missing out on what a bedroom can be: a calm and soothing hideaway. Please remember that the bedroom is not a dumping ground.

After #10: Rise and Shine
2014-06-16-BA21.jpeg
Palette Primer Choose a color for the walls that puts your mind and senses to rest. Soothing shades of blue are popular choices, but it's a personal decision.
Bright Idea Think about how you use the space. For example, if you read in bed, a wall-mounted light is a good solution.
Choose Wisely If you don't have space for a nighstand and a dresser, then we say go with the one that will offer the most storage.
