Kylie Jenner Shares Makeup-Free Selfie On Flight To Miami

0
0
Perhaps Kylie Jenner was inspired by her older sister Kourtney Kardashian when she shared a makeup-free selfie while on a plane to Miami on Friday.

Like many teens, Jenner loves to experiment with makeup, but it's clear from this photo that her skin is already glowing without it.

✈️

A photo posted by King Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Jenner has said she's an all or nothing kind of girl when it comes to getting glam, but she just may not need to get glam as often as she thinks.

"I never really wear makeup unless I need to, because when I do my makeup I like to really do my makeup," she told Teen Vogue in April. "So I'm never going to spend just 20 minutes, you know? A good night out is, like, two and a half hours for full makeup, curling hair, whatever. I love false lashes -- individuals, strips, extensions."

Jenner is sure to be rocking a very different look tonight for her appearance at the opening of the Sugar Factory in Miami.

London Wealth Gone Awry

2015-06-19-1434713289-6322399-IMG_5172.jpg

In a week when I tipped my gilt-coloured chair to close in on the narrow gap separating me from the exquisite singing of Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja at a private performance, I also spent half the amount an immigrant paid to drown in the Mediterranean, in a trendy London eatery.

Stumbling into a cacophony of noise, we negotiated our way through the crowd, like stepping around an airport lounge of cancelled flight passengers. The family of four next to us echoed our own deluded sense of occasion as they sat in jackets and ties and pretty dresses while the yoga-clad, skinny elite around us had not bothered to brush their hair. While still determining whether this was pleasant or simply miserable, I felt a vibration of air current to my right when I realised that my daughter was talking to me. I bent my ear down to her chin and concluded it best to stare at her moving lips and guess at a conversation instead, with occasional village idiot grins of incomprehension while apologetically shrugging my shoulders in ignorance.

The office party behind us whoop and whooped loudly in Facebook-mannered approbation, then all twelve whoopers dropped their drinks, propelled their chairs to the side and concertinaed into a mass of straining arms and ecstatic cries around Pharrell Williams in the open corridor behind us. Much crowd gushing ensued and hysterical pandering. How to let him know we were not part of the same human race.

And as charmingly professional as he was at the subjugation of more whoops and squashed grins against his rather beautiful face in at least twenty selfies within fifty seconds, he was equally professional about the speed in which he vanished. What a pro. One office employee diner fell back on her chair and screamed at her mobile screen for ten whole minutes, then furiously stabbed fingers at it to gain more ether friends, ignoring the £35 price tag attached to her three centimetres of smoke-infused crab taco perched on her trapezoidal plate.

Our own food arrived and became progressively mediocre until the sautéed shrimp tasted like Benihana, circa 1985. The bill, however, climbed to stratospheric heights of obscenity.

I recalled our cab journey there earlier, and our faces, full of anticipation of a special meal after a few stressful months, while celebrating a birthday to boot, and the driver telling us how fab this internationally-renowned establishment was meant to be. Today I'd like to find him and put him straight, for the sake of all those future lemmings heading off a financial cliff for some sea catch that is best left to live on.

The next day I woke up with an overwhelming sense of stupidity while still burping last night's over-salted umami-ness. We'd been had. I have been obsessively thinking of better uses with my money; feeding a family of refugees for six months, saving Devon's wounded moles, or better still not having to find the sum that we never had in the first place but that will now appear as a canker sore on our credit card bill at the end of the month.

Some places are simply too expensive for their own good, with an unwarranted reputation for culinary expertise that long ago perished under the founder chef now running an empire elsewhere. Moreover, a residual feeling of something close to shame punctuated my day. Visions blurred my traffic-congested journeys on newly detoured Central London streets, as I imagined replacing the motorised sieve with a boat for those wretched souls who never made it past the open sea around Lampedusa. Annoyingly, this will haunt me for a long time; a "feel-goof" with guilt is not exactly the abiding factor a restaurant should leave us with.

The Heavy Relationship Is a Password (a Three Minute Refresher on Relationship Normalcy)

0
0
2015-06-18-1434654126-1132983-Unknown

I need to know yours for this to work.

◊◊

Couples share lots of things; bank accounts, sometimes a car. That HBO GO account that you're actually sharing because it's your ex's friend's account. That extra bedroom that she kind of ending up stealing for yoga.

And if you fall into the 50% bracket of the population that has an ex-wife or husband (and thus, insignificant), you might even share the responsibility of raising children. Of course if you have an ex, you probably don't have a lot of trust in this person, which is why you're an ex. Perhaps you did at one point but it faded somewhere after... oh, I don't know, day one after you had kids.

◊◊

Recently, I wrote a blog about what I think is the new modern man; what a modern, 21st and-a-half century man is, something I believe that I am. No doubt, it's caused an innumerable number of arguments among couples (and for that I'm not sorry). It was kind of my intention.

But this is all part of the renaissance. The new man. We're open. We're transparent. We have few things to hide (if any).

But any serious relationship, one in which the topics of, "do we want a dog?" or "do we want kids?" is discussed, needs something other than trust and transparency to work. I need your password. Not to your Instagram or ovulation app (Although lots of folks have long-debated whether sharing passwords for things like email or our phone PIN helps or hurts a relationship (I am in the "it helps" camp), I need the password that will make you happy.

◊◊

Years ago, we would have met our girlfriend or boyfriend through a friend, through work, or God forbid, through grandma whose friend in the nursing home as a granddaughter "who's just perfect for you."

A precipitous courtship would then ensue. Several dates. Actual phone calls. Very little texting or social media interaction. I mean actually talking to the person.

Texting while dating can be hazardous. Nuance is oftentimes missed. Sarcasm taken literally. Had you been conversing like normal people, you'd be learning their cues, even their innocent little peccadillos. What annoys them? When to ask and when not to ask "what's wrong," or "do you want to talk about it?" Our social passwords back then were easier to figure out than they are today.

◊◊

Think of your relationship as a crop, planted in a pretty, quaint greenhouse (built using renewable bamboo). The password is the Sun. And the process of understanding each other is the water.

Like any crop, we need to nurture and toil over it. A good harvest means the two of you are simpatico. You both understand what the other wants, needs, and desires. Sounds important, right? Sounds like something you should probably know.

But what is equally important, is understanding what she/he doesn't want, doesn't need, or doesn't desire.

The big, $44 million question: "How do I get the password?!"

Just ask them for it.

What do they need from you? What does he or she want from you? But don't neglect the question, "What completely bugs the shit out of you? Because I don't want to do that."

It is super-fucking-easy to date somebody. There's no course to take. No test to ace. Like having children, anyone can do it. Nobody tells you how to do it properly, you just sort of have to learn on your own, by example, or get a little deep with yourself.

What's difficult is being in a super-fucking-good relationship. One that lasts. One that makes other couples around you hate you for being the "kicking ass and taking names" couple. You're a team. One that's completely devoid of resentment, but inundated with adoration for each another.

This needs time. Patience. And practice.

Oh... and that password.

Hilaria Baldwin Posts Underwear Selfie Two Days After Giving Birth

Just two days after giving birth to her son Rafael, Hilaria Baldwin shared an underwear selfie on Instagram, and she looks amazing.

In the shot, Alec Baldwin's wife is seen posing in front of a mirror while wearing a lacy bra and a pair of black briefs. The brunette beauty also included the following heartfelt caption with her photo:

"Update on us... Rafael is doing wonderfully! He is two days old now. Such a sweet little boy. I'm feeling well, been up with him every hour to two hours. I have been planning on doing post belly photos but didn't know if I was gonna have the guts to actually follow through. I hope you understand my intention here: I believe it is important to accept and love our form after going through a bit of a battle bringing life into this world. Deep breath, here we go...all the way from my glamorous hospital bathroom. #ShrinkingBaldwinBabyBump #NoShame #LoveYourBody"

The mother of two's photo was met with plenty of support from her followers, who left comments calling her "brave" for "being honest about post-baby bodies," and thanking her for sharing a positive message.

Hilaria gave birth to her second child with Alec on June 17. The pair are also parents to daughter Carmen, and Hilaria is stepmother to Alec's 19-year-old daughter Ireland, from his marriage to Kim Basinger.

Powerful Photos Capture Impact of 'Narco Aesthetic' In Medellín, Colombia

0
0
"Beauties" is a photo essay I shot on the interpretation of beauty and female culture in Medellín, Colombia.

Medellín is the second largest city in Colombia. During the '80s and '90s, it was at the epicenter of narcotics traffic in South America. Today, plunging homicide rates, a public campaign to reduce violence, and urban development have helped new libraries, parks, schools and sustainable infrastructure flourish. This combination has qualified Medellín as a city of change on the international stage.

However, when a big phenomenon and transition like this happens in a society, it is inevitable that it affects all aspects of it; in this case, one of them was the interpretation of beauty. During these years, the female body became a reflection of a lavish lifestyle. Drug lords would visit the U.S to conduct drug deals and return with images of beauty that they'd seen on prostitutes there: blonde and voluptuous, with thin noses. Back home, they had the money to transform any woman into that canon of beauty.

This understanding of the female body, usually called narco aesthetic, had a deep impact on the female culture of the city. In Medellín, women have historically been seen as strong figures, mothers and hard workers. For many, it is still like that, but the 1980s and '90s brought a very materialistic approach that changed the role of women's beauty and bodies.

This is how cosmetic surgery went mainstream in Medellín. The photoessay introduces the viewers to teenagers with casual familiarities with liposuction; a diet pill seller so desperate to be "as pretty as her friends" she allowed an unqualified doctor to put bio-polymers in her buttocks (a procedure she's now seeking to reverse); and handfuls of women who've spent millions of pesos on plastic surgery besides.

Even so, my main objective wasn't to focus on the popularity of plastic surgery in the city, but on how social factors changed the understanding of our own bodies. I just wanted to investigate how women and beauty are interpreted in a particular space and time frame. However, it was inevitable that the love for plastic surgery in the city showed up in the essay; not taking it into account would have meant ignoring a big part of the reality.

Provoking girls to realize there are alternative ways of seeing beauty is a huge priority in my reportage. I would like to believe that my work will inspire other women to analyze what they see around them and realize that it's just a culturally formed interpretation of beauty; you don't need to take it in full.

Jilted Bride Penned The World's Most Depressing eBay Listing

0
0
Wedding dresses for sale on eBay are a dime a dozen. But this listing is different -- this woman's dress has a sob story to tell.

"Rejected wedding dress seeks lasting love and holy matrimony," a UK listing that went up earlier this week reads. From there, the dress takes the reins and spins its sad, sad tale.

ebay

"I was supposed to be worn at City Hall in New York," the size 8 ivory lace Diane von Furstenberg number says. "I was going to be the main attraction of a 60s wedding theme. I was going to be low-key, but elegant (I still am, for that matter)."

But then the owner and her Brooklyn-based hubby-to-be ended their relationship -- and things began looking pretty dismal for the dress. "She kept me in the box. Because she couldn’t bear to look at me. I am a constant reminder to her of what could have been. So she wants to sell me."

Oof, you're killing us, little DVF dress.

According to Metro, the would-be-bride behind the listing is a 30-year-old British woman who wishes to remain unnamed. Read her ad in its holy-God-that's-depressing entirety below:

I was supposed to be worn at City Hall in New York.

I was going to be the main attraction of a 60s wedding theme.

I was going to be low-key, but elegant (I still am, for that matter).

I was going to complement a 60s updo, nude courts and a bouquet of Lily of the Valley.

When my owner put on a dress just like me in Selfridges, she knew I was the one so she ordered me online and had me delivered to her husband-to-be in Brooklyn.

I’m not over the top, nor am I too dressed down, and she thought she could perhaps wear me to other occasions in the future.

She thought I was a dress she could look back on and smile, not cringe at fashion faux pas (she was right).

When I arrived, she kept me sealed in my box so nothing could ruin me.

Then they split up.

And she kept me in the box.

Because she couldn’t bear to look at me.

I am a constant reminder to her of what could have been.

So she wants to sell me.

Not necessarily to a bride, but to anyone looking to give me the home I deserve.

A home where I’ll get worn and admired and dry-cleaned (as and when necessary).

She can’t take me back to DVF because they no longer stock me.

I’m limited edition, if you like.

And the first time I have been taken out of my box is for these photos.

Because who’s going to buy a dress based on a picture of a box?

I can’t wait to be worn by you (and to see the back of my cardboard confines once and for all).

Love,
Zarita (in Ivory).
xx

7 Hacks To Instantly Revive Old Clothing

By: Christopher Discipio

Replacing a pair of go-to jeans that suffer from some spotty distressing, or those sliiightly dirty canvas sneakers which have carried you just about everywhere for the past four years, isn't as easy as just buying a new item. Your favorite clothes have lived so much of your life -- the nostalgia is strong with them. The hacks below will help you greatly extend the lifecycle of timeworn clothing, and most of them can be executed with items you (probably) already have lying around your apartment.

1. Save your jeans with... sandpaper
What you need: 220 grit sandpaper.
What it does: Uniformly distressed old denim.

If you have an old pair of beat up jeans, don't throw 'em out! It takes years to get that sort of lived-in feel/look, and there is a ton of folks who would pay top dollar to get their hands on a faux pair. Instead, wrap a piece of sandpaper around a deck of cards, notebook, etc. and even out/add to the shading and distressing on other areas of the pants. This works best when done on a flat surface while using ultra-abrasive 220 grit sandpaper.

2. Brighten your canvas sneakers
What you need: Baking soda, white vinegar, and a toothbrush.
What it does: Cleans dirt, smudges, scuffs, etc. from canvas sneakers.

Before doing anything, remove the shoelaces and let the shoes soak in lukewarm water. Once that's done, mix one tablespoon of hot water, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and one tablespoon of baking soda until it reaches a paste-like consistency (if you need more, just up the measurements). Using a toothbrush, work the paste into the canvas and rubber in circular motions. Then, under lukewarm water, rinse the shoes thoroughly. Repeat if there a few particularly pesky stains.

3. Shave your sweater
What you need: A disposable razor.
What it does: Removes pills from sweaters, jackets, blankets, and just about everything else.

Over time, knitwear fibers begin to push out from the surface of the cloth, and abrasion causes the fibers to develop into small, spherical bundles on the surface of the garment. To remove these balls of fuzz, lay the cloth you're de-pilling on a flat surface and hold it tightly with one hand. With a new razor, use short, quick strokes to remove all the fuzz. You don't want to press too hard since it is possible to cut the fabric with a sharp blade. This'll work on your chunkiest of winter sweaters and/or those light knits you break out for a warm weather night.

4. Turn a pair of old pants into shorts (without using a needle and thread)
What you need: Scissors, 1" of fusible webbing tape (can be found at any fabric or crafts store or online), an iron, and a piece of chalk/pencil.
What it does: Turns a pair of denim, chinos, or trousers into shorts without having to sew anything.

1. If you have a pair of shorts that fit you, use those as your guide, adding two extra inches of fabric to the length. Mark the area with a piece of chalk/pencil.

If you do not have a pair of shorts readily available, put the pants on and determine where you want the shorts to end (ideally, they should be two or three inches above your knee). Add an extra two inches of fabric to your desired length and mark the spot.

2. Fold the pants in half lengthwise on a flat surface and, using a ruler and the same chalk/pencil, extend the line from the mark you made in the first step all the way across. Using a sharp pair of scissors, cut through both pant legs. Use the leg opening seam from the bottom half of the pants as a guide to make sure your cut is straight. Match 'em up, and make whatever slight alterations are needed.

3. Decide if you want them cuffed or not. If you do, fold the cuff up and attach them to the pants with the fusible webbing tape. Then use an iron to seal the cuff down. Rather not have a cuff? Repeat the same process but, instead of folding the extra fabric up, fold and tuck it inside the shorts. Proceed to wear shorts stylishly.

Despite living in the White House, Obama says that his two daughters, Malia, 16, and Sasha, 14, are actually pretty normal.

"The truth is the girls are wonderful," Obama told "Extra," earlier this month. "You know they work hard, they work a lot harder than I ever did when I was a kid."

"Most importantly, they're kind, they're respectful, they don't have an attitude," he said. "Partly because maybe my mother-in-law was here, you know we say we don't want to see any attitude out of them. And they've been terrific."

He wants his daughters to make as much as their male counterparts

As president, Obama has backed legislation to get equal pay for women and has framed the issue as a personal one for him.

“Why would I want my spouse or my daughter discriminated against? That doesn’t make any sense,” he said in April.

He's got pretty good dating advice

Obama often jokes about the Secret Service detail that he has following his daughters around, but when it comes to dating, he has said that he wants to be hands off.

"What I've told them before is, as long as that young man is showing you respect, and is kind to you, then I'm not going to be hovering over every second," he told television host Steve Harvey in 2013.

Obama also said that it was "a little bit jarring" to see Malia in heels for the first time when she attended her first prom last year.

He helped coach Sasha's basketball team to a championship

In 2012, Obama said that he helped the head coach of Sasha's basketball team run through practice drills on their way to winning a tournament championship. Obama also once filled in coaching for the team on short notice.

His daughters still think he is embarrassing

Obama told Extra earlier this month that Sasha and Malia still are embarrassed by him. Some of that may have been on display at the annual Turkey pardon in 2014 when he asked them if they wanted to pet the turkeys and Malia simply said “no.”

How Getting Rid Of This One Item Changed My Life

ALL ILLUSTRATED BY ANNA SUDIT.

Something good is happening lately -- I feel fitter, happier, and in control. My clothes seem to fit better than they used to and I'm more energized and confident. No, it's not the latest fad diet. I haven't changed a thing about my workout routine. Here's the thing: I no longer own a full-length mirror.

Mirrors weren't always a problem for me. When I was young, I hardly gave my reflection a second thought. I was a skinny kid -- the little girl with a voracious appetite and endless energy. As a teen, I could eat what I pleased: A cheesy Buffalo chicken calzone, big helpings of my mom's unbeatable spaghetti, sandwiches piled high with cold cuts. Even with college nights of heavy drinking and the late-night eats that went with them, I only gained a few auxiliary pounds. In fact, I loved food so much that I made it my job after graduation when I became an assistant editor at a national food publication in New York City.

New York. A job. I was an adult. And, just like that, my pizza party was over.

I started gaining weight -- fast. Pants ripped unceremoniously. Sweaters grew tight in the shoulders. Cellulite showed up in places I never knew it could (Arms? REALLY?!). My identity as the skinny girl who could hold her own at 25-cent wings night, was shaken. My metabolism had come to a screeching halt; for the first time, I felt the need to watch what I ate. But, the "eat what I want, when I want it" mentality was nearly indelible after a lifetime of being able to do exactly that.

I knew I'd gained weight, but I didn't want to let it change my life. I conducted business as usual: Dinner or drinks with friends five nights a week (with guilt-erasing healthy lunches, and a workout here and there). But the one thing that ate me alive was seeing my new body in my full-length mirror.

I'd always been an indecisive dresser, but now it was out of control. Mornings began with me ripping through my drawers and closet for multiple outfit changes and painstaking tweaks. If a pair of jeans made my legs look too thick or a shirt didn't fall perfectly, I'd nix them -- even if, to everyone else, I looked great. The dressing panic became a habit; I was consistently running late for work, missing big chunks of movies, and -- in one extreme circumstance -- losing a reservation at a restaurant because I spent so long deliberating over a dress.

How One Eyeshadow Palette Can Replace Your Entire Makeup Bag

0

Between the sweltering heat and humidity, the dog days of summer are the perfect time to pare down and simplify your makeup routine. Former Miss USA Susie Castillo, author of Confidence Is Queen, says there's really only one thing you need to keep in your bag this season. In the above #OWNSHOW video, she explains how to take you from day to night, perk up your lips and highlight your cheeks -- all with one product.

What is this magic makeup mulitasker? A neutral eyeshadow palette, Castillo says. It’s the perfect thing to keep in your bag to help you easily transition your look from desk to dinner. "I like to continue with the same look that I have during the day and just punch it up with the darker side," she says.

In the morning, Castillo uses the lighter shades in the palette. As the day goes on, she updates her look with darker tones. Most palettes come with a dual-sided brush, which Castillo says is perfect for applying eyeliner. Use the flat end of the brush and don't be afraid to dip into the darker shadows -- the effect will still be soft and light, she says.

Though most palettes are marketed for just the eyes, Castillo assures that these neutral pigments can be used for so much more. One of her favorite tricks is to dip a pinky finger into one of the palette's shimmery gold shadows. Dot the shimmer over your lip gloss, she says, to give lips an instant little pop.

Another trick Castillo loves is applying eyeshadow on her cheeks. Just like blush, a neutral eyeshadow works great for highlighting cheekbones.

Nearly every cosmetics company makes a neutral palette in a variety of price points, but Castillo says she isn't loyal to just one brand -- the important thing, she explains, is to find a palette with colors ranging from soft and flat to smokey and shimmery. "[Neutral] goes with every skin tone and there's a palette out there for every girl," she promises.

Redheads Demanded An Emoji Of Their Own, So Now There's An Entire 'Ginger Emoji Keyboard'

0
0
Great advancements have been made in the realm of emojis. In April, iPhone users gained access to a diverse range of emoji characters with many skin tone options. And on Wednesday, the organization that codes emojis announced that, at long last, the taco, burrito and unicorn, among a host of other goodies, may eventually come to smart phone keyboards.

All of this, yet there is still great progress to be made. The redhead community is underrepresented in emojis, and gingers are demanding a revolution. A change.org petition with more than 14,000 signatures is campaigning for a "ginger boy" and "ginger girl" emoji from Apple.

ginger boy

Petition creator "Ginger Parrot" points out that while redheads make up only two percent of the popular, they add up to a large number of smart phone users:

Redheads. In all their glorious gingerness, they've been missed out. Again. If you say you're going to diversify, why not add a few red-haired emoji in the mix? Natural redheads may be rare at less than 2 percent of the world's population, but that is 138,000,000 iPhones waiting to happen.

Red-haired "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson took to Twitter in May to share his grief over the emoji omission:

The lack of representation "really hurts," Comedian Carrot Top declared in an op-ed in Time in May, adding, "The closest thing we have is a Jack O’Lantern or a red-faced devil -- which only enables the stereotypes that we’re either pumpkins or Satan."

There is hope. On Sunday Swyft Media released a new Ginger Emoji Keyboard to rectify the oversight. The keyboard is available for free in the Google Play Store for Andriod and the iTunes store for iPhone. Once downloaded, it can be added to the keyboard in the phone's settings, and functions across all of the phone's apps.

gingers

Evan Wray, Swyft Media co-founder -- and, notably, a person with brown hair -- told The Huffington Post that the keyboard was created to give redheads representation. "Basically everyone else is represented from the hair color spectrum, but gingers were inexplicably left out," he said. He explained that it is important for every type of person to be characterized in emoji because "[emoji is] the evolution of current language."

The Ginger Emoji Keyboard may not be a timeless solution, but it is a step in the right direction for the redheaded community.

Blake Lively Shares Hilarious Post Of Ryan Reynolds And Baby James For Father's Day

Blake Lively certainly has a sense of humor.

The gorgeous mama shared an Instagram photo of husband Ryan Reynolds with their daughter, James, for Father's Day on Sunday. Alongside the photo, she added a hilarious caption about their baby's paternity.

Lively isn't the only funny one in the family. Reynolds shared some humor of his own Sunday:

The "Age of Adaline" star, who gave birth in December, recently gushed about her adorable little brood, and wanting more kids.

"Having a baby is just living in the constant unexpected," she told the Los Angeles Times in April. "You never know when you're gonna get crapped on or when you're gonna get a big smile or when that smile immediately turns into hysterics. It might be like living with a drug addict. But you have a baby and you think, 'I can't imagine ever not having a baby,' because they grow up so quickly. I'd be an 80-year-old woman with a baby if I could."

10 Lip Glosses Guaranteed To Give You Major Shine

0

The editors here at The Huffington Post haven't been this excited about lip gloss since our childhood days swapping Lip Smackers on the playground. Brands such as Maybelline, Urban Decay and Marc Jacobs Beauty are reimagining the classic lip gloss with new products that don't require you to sacrifice shine for color.

Much like the lipsticks we graduated to, these modern formulas come in bolder and more sophisticated shades. They contain moisturizing oils and nutrients like avocado, rose hip and vitamin E that offer serious skincare without the stickiness. (Though you shouldn't forget to protect your pucker with SPF, if that's not included.) Many companies have also revamped the lip gloss brush, making it smaller and sharper for a more even application.

Lip glosses are a simple way to recreate that lustrous summer look. But if you prefer to ease your way into high shine, try layering a gloss on top of your favorite lipstick or start with just one swipe.

Run, don't walk to the nearest makeup counter to shop these 10 new lip glosses.

best new lip gloss

1. Smith + Cult The Shining Lip Lacquer in The Queen Is Dead, $22. This sheer aubergine lip lacquer has just the right amount of shimmer for a seriously sexy finish.

2. Manic Panic Cross Gloss in Hot as Hell, $15. It's only right that the brand with the wildest at-home hair dyes create the most outrageous lip gloss colors. This electric pink shade isn't for the faint at heart!

3. Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Tickled Pink, $4.49. Just like their cult balms, Maybelline's new glosses aren't sticky at all. They simply glide across your lips for a nourishing and brilliant wash of color.

4. Beauty That Counts Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Harmony, $15. There's more to this product than meets the eye. The brand is making it super easy to get gorgeous and give back by donating $1 from each sale of this nude-pink gloss to women and children in need.

5. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Sandstorm, $7.99. Inspired by the natural beauty of the desert, this peachy beige hue boasts intense shine, a lightweight texture and an understated vanilla scent.

6. Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss in Punch Drunk, $22. Between the metallic gunmetal cap and the bright orange pigment, we don't know what we love most about this gloss.

7. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Barbie Pink, $16. Yes, eyebrow expert Anastasia Soare has more to offer than just brow products. She recently launched a line of color cosmetics which included creamy lip gloss with incredible sheen.

8. Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Pink Steam, $28. Thanks to the sleek packaging, paraben-free formula and striking color range, we bet these designer lip glosses will go quickly at Sephora.

9. Gerard Cosmetics Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss in Eggplant, $24. Created by a woman who really knows her makeup, this line of lip glosses includes shades like this gorgeous grape that can easily transition between seasons.

10. Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss in Jet Setter, $15. Lorac means serious business with this deep fuchsia gloss loaded in antioxidants like acai berry, pomegranate, grape seed extract as well as vitamins C and E.

'This Oppresses Women' Stickers Give Body-Shaming Ads The Edit They So Desperately Need

A women's group is using a vintage sticker to call out sexist advertisements around New York City -- and the result is pretty damn awesome.

Some NYC residents have noticed "This Oppresses Women" stickers placed on top of various ads for "beach bodies," "buttock enhancements" and breast augmentation on New York subway cars and in subway stations.

No one looks like that. Not even her. #thisoppresseswomen

A photo posted by Katya Powder (@katyapowder) on

Feminist groups National Women's Liberation and Redstockings are behind the effort. The groups teamed up to recreate a vintage 1969 "This Oppresses Women" sticker, and have been distributing them to women at protests, their monthly meetings and other venues.

"Women are sick of being bombarded with advertisements that depict women only as sexual objects," Erin Mahoney of National Women's Liberation told The Huffington Post. "That use our bodies to sell products. That embolden men to disrespect us. That tell us we are not worthy unless we conform to unrealistic, sexist, racist, and unhealthy beauty standards. Women are fighting back and using [the 'This Oppresses Women'] vintage sticker to do it. It's exciting."

According to the National Women's Liberation website, the group hopes the sticker will raise public consciousness surrounding the ways advertisements contribute to a culture of sexual harassment and over-sexualization of women.

The more we can call attention to problematic images in our public spaces, the better. We say: Bring on the stickers.
