Josh Hutcherson Gives Valuable Advice To His Younger Self

If you had the opportunity to give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Well, you may get some ideas from Josh Hutcherson.

After 21 years of experiences, the "Hunger Games" actor imparts his wisdom on us and it's the perfect reminder to stay true to ourselves.

1. Do things because you want to do them. "I was bullied, especially when I first said I wanted to be an actor, kids thought I was weird."

2. Be motivated by passion, not fear. "I want to drive forward with what I want to be doing next."

3. Heartbreak doesn't mean failure. "It's a learning process."

4. Good friends are worth the wait. "Once you get to that place where you find people you connect with -- it's so much better."

5. It's a great thing to be different. "The difference is what leads to greatness."

Watch the video above for more of Hutcherson's advice.

Kanye West's Missing Reflection In Vogue Photo Is A Major Photoshop Fail

Regardless of your thoughts on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West landing the cover of Vogue, it's what's inside the magazine's pages that is truly unforgivable.

What could have been a great and somewhat poignant photo of West snapping an iPad photo of Kardashian and daughter North, while Kardashian snapped a selfie, was totally marred by one of the worst Photoshop fails we've ever seen.

If you look closely, or even if you just casually glance at it, you'll notice that West's reflection is somehow completely missing from the large mirror that spans the wall behind them. It's a glaring mistake, which predictably has Twitter users collectively believing they are just hilarious and so original each time they wonder if the photo is proof the 36-year-old is really a vampire.

Cue the inevitable memes in three, two, one...

Kaley Cuoco Immortalizes Her Love For Ryan Sweeting With New Tattoo

Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting said "I do" on New Year's eve, but apparently a marriage certificate and some vows just aren't permanent enough for the celeb couple.

The "Big Bang Theory" star was spotted with a brand new tattoo on her upper back Saturday, while playing a charity tennis event with her tennis pro husband.

The new tat is in Roman numerals and features the couple's wedding date. You can check it out in the video above.

Cuoco's not alone in the permanent gesture. Sweeting recently tattooed "Kaley" across his forearm, along with the same wedding-date numerals.

The couple's romance was a whirlwind from the get go; they met, dated and married within a year. So the matching tattoos aren't exactly unexpected.

Like Lorde: Indie Beauty Firms Offer Lipstick for Punk Pouts

If you like to be at the forefront of new makeup trends, wave goodbye to the bedazzled nail art that celebrities flaunt for the red-carpet "mani-cam." The daring beauty statement du jour is a purple, blue, black or green lipstick, and some of the best products are being sold by cosmetic companies you haven't heard of yet.

"It's not there to be liked -- it's there to show some kind of individuality," says Merle Ginsberg, senior style writer for The Hollywood Reporter, of the unnatural lip look. She credits Lorde, the 17-year-old singer of the hit "Royals," for bringing punk pouts back into vogue by wearing a dark purple blend of two MAC Cosmetics lipstick shades -- Heroine and Cyber -- at the Grammys in January. "All these girls at the Grammys were trying to be sexy... strapless gown, pretty hair, pretty lipstick... pretty, pretty, pretty. She totally stood out." Not only did Lorde win two Grammys that night, but the buzz generated by her purple lips led to the recent announcement that she will collaborate with MAC on a summer makeup collection. Style watchers expect the line to feature some of Lorde's signature dark hues.

MAC -- a top seller of lipsticks in department stores -- has long done limited editions of edgier colors. Its 2013 Punk Couture collection included a matte black lipstick called Hautecore. Last month, the company caused a stir again by mixing three of its pigment products to create a matte, dark-blue lip for clothing designer Ann Yee's runway show. But, while the big beauty company got the press, a similar shade is already available, minus the mixing, from Melt Cosmetics, a company that was started last May by makeup artist Lora Arellano and actress Dana Bomar. The sassily named DGAF blue, priced at $19 a tube, tends to sell out as soon as it hits Melt's website, but other options include grey-blue Space Cake, lavender Darling and black Bane.

Black lipsticks are a mainstay of upstart cosmetics companies' offerings, just as Russian Red has been a MAC classic since the 1980s. Kim Damio even named her business the Portland Black Lipstick Company after her favorite shade. "Who doesn't look good in black?" she asks, laughing. Damio -- who, as a graduate student of Chinese culture, translated a beauty manual from the Ming Dynasty -- has seen her sales double every year since she launched in 2011. Lipsticks are $12 each.

Indies like Portland Black Cosmetics make their ingredients a selling point. In 2012, Jenna Acebo founded Pretty Zombie Cosmetics to sell $11 vegan liquid lipsticks and already has annual sales topping $100,000. Her version of black is called Black Cat, while her most popular shade is a deep purple called 3 Witches. Ka'oir Cosmetics, founded in 2011 by model Keyshia Ka'oir, puts annual retail sales at $5 million a year thanks, in part, to a rainbow of gluten-free lipsticks with prices starting at $15.99. "The most popular color varies weekly," says a spokeswoman. "One week it might be our very dark burgundy shade called Sex and another week it can be our bright turquoise blue called Pool Party." Ka'oir's black lipstick is called Night.

The last time Morticia Addams-worthy lips had such a big moment was in 1995, when Chanel created a frenzy with its black-red Vamp, first offered as a nail polish color, then as a matching lipstick. The following year, a company named Urban Decay got its start by asking, "Does pink make you puke?" in ads for provocatively named nail and lip colors such as dark-brown Roach and metallic-blue Frostbite. The fashion cycle eventually shifted back to classic reds, pinks, plums and nudes, though Hillary Belzer, founder of the Makeup Museum website, says there have been "smaller moments" between the '90s and Lorde "that really sent edgier colors to the forefront -- planting the seeds of the colors we're seeing today." Belzer cites Chanel's introduction of its Black Satin nail polish in 2006 and Yves Saint Laurent's creation of a black lipgloss in 2008. Blue has made appearances before too: Pop star Kesha wore a metallic blue lip in 2010, and Rihanna tried blue last year.

Those blue hues didn't come from Urban Decay, which is now owned by L'Oreal, and has annual retail sales in excess of $415 million. Neutral eyeshadow palettes called "The Nakeds" are among the company's top sellers (though the company last week added a neon "Electric" palette) and, while original lipstick colors like deep-red Gash are still available, Frostbite is no more. "We didn't sell that much blue lipstick," explains co-founder and current chief creative officer Wende Zomnir, but "... to kick down the door of the cosmetics department we needed to make that really bold statement."

These days, new companies don't have to worry about cosmetics departments. They sell through their own websites, generating cult followings of makeup lovers who share their looks on online. Melt fan Nailah Smith recommends browsing social media before buying: "I did a lot of research via Instagram before spending my money." The 24-year-old math tutor says that while shades such as Space Cake get occasional "weird stares" in her quiet Brooklyn neighborhood, they get "compliments up and down" in Manhattan.

But you don't have to be a 20-something like Smith to wear outrageous lip colors, say Tish and Snooky Bellomo of Manic Panic. The sisters (Tish has pink hair; Snooky has blue) have been selling green lipstick and purple hair dye since 1977. Their customers -- who buy from outlets including Sally Beauty and Hot Topic, ringing up annual retail sales of over $25 million -- range in age from tweens to women in their late 80s. This month, the company revealed 26 new shades of its $15.50 Lethal Lipstick; the velvety black is called Nosferatu. The sisters point out that lipstick is a low-risk way to be wild. "Try everything!" Tish urges. "You never know." If it doesn't work, Snooky adds, "Wipe it off!"

Flat Iron Tips: How To Not Let Your Straightener Ruin Your Hair

$

My days of sitting in the salon chair to get my thick curls flat-ironed until there's no kink or wave visible to the naked eye are long gone. Between the terrible smell of burnt hair and inevitable frizzy ends, having silky and straight strands momentarily just wasn't worth the long-term effects of damaged and brittle hair.

But I have yet to convince my closest friends and co-workers to step away from hair straightening tools ... for good.

To help explain what the flat iron is actually doing to your hair, I reached out to Dr. Jessica Krant, M.D., M.P.H., founder of Art of Dermatology in New York City, Elizabeth Cunnane Phillip, a trichologist at Philip Kingsley, and Paradi Mirmirani, M.D., board certified dermatologist in Vallejo, Calif., for the facts on this pressing (ha, get it?) matter.

Your hair can burn just like your skin -- you just can't feel it!

As someone with hair that sort of has a mind of its own, I get the allure of picking up the flat iron and showing your strands who's really boss. But the simple act of hair straightening "can wreak havoc on the condition of your hair if they are used too often or incorrectly," says Cunnane Phillip.

The hair shaft is a delicate structure with two main layers: the inner core, or medulla, and the outer coating, or cuticle. Dr. Krant explains, "A healthy hair strand has a uniform structure with a hollow, water-and-air filled medulla and a smooth cuticle. This allows light to pass through it and gives it an internal glow (translucent center), and an external, reflective shine (smooth cuticle). Excessive heat damages both of these layers."

She adds, "The worst habits in hair styling are mainly about trying too hard to make the hair do things it doesn't want to do. Unfortunately, or fortunately if we kill it, the hair strands are dead once they come out of the scalp, so once damaged, it's not really possible to fully fix without cutting."

But before you do a big chop to rectify any damage, according to Dr. Mirmirani, "for the most part, the damage is to the hair fiber and not the hair follicle (root). So once you have new/virgin hair growth, it should be back to normal."

Heat-styling tools deplete your hair of its natural moisture.

"Moisture content is just as important to the health and beauty of your hair as it is to your skin," says Cunnane Phillip. "It’s what helps keep your strands nourished and elastic. Over-applying heat to your hair when it is already dried causes brittleness, breakage, dullness and dryness to the point where hair is stripped of its natural moisture causing your cuticles to dry and snap off."

The secret to safe hair straightening styling? Good timing and the proper use of tools and products.

Hair straighteners use the natural moisture content of your hair to create a new style. This is why Cunnane Phillip suggests that your hair be fairly dry for them to work properly. However, if care is not taken, they can make your hair brittle and extremely inelastic. "Steam-producing irons provide moisture, so are less likely to dry out your hair. The best of these are Teflon-coated irons," she says. And don't forget to prep your hair with a heat protectant to minimize heat-styling damage.

Burnt hair cells can build up on hot irons and cause them to stick to your hair, which can be very damaging. To avoid this hazard, replace your flat irons as needed. "You will know when to change it as 'stickiness' will occur and build-up on the ceramic plates will be evident," explains Cunnane Phillip.

The thinner and finer the hair shafts, the more easily they will be thrown into disarray by excessive heat.

But on the flip side, Dr. Krant says that people with thicker, curlier hair are using more heat to achieve their results which increases the risk of damage as well. She adds, "The actual damage that results is the same: dull, brittle hair with no shine, and, at worst, damage to scalp and hair follicles."

Color-treated hair is also less tolerant to excessive hair straightening, and as we age, Dr. Mirmirani adds that our locks' tolerance to heat also decreases "probably because the hair is finer and thinner."

While thicker, coarser hair can resist breakage better than fine or damaged hair, according to Cunnane Phillip, this creates a tempting desire to straighten and tame this hair type daily. "But be warned, this can quickly lead to mass breakage, which actually makes your hair appear more frizzy due to the different lengths of hair snapping off and sticking out. It can become quite a vicious cycle. Try to limit the use of straighteners to once or twice a week," she says.

Persistent heat and chemical damage to hair and scalp can eventually lead to permanent hair loss.

One of the biggest takeaways from Dr. Krant's advice is to never underestimate the damage you do, and to do your best to keep heat-styling devices and chemicals away from the scalp -- even if it might mean having slightly fuzzy roots.

"Scarring of the follicles [from excessive heat styling] can occur in a way that cannot be recovered through medications or procedures. There is also a delayed effect, so it can be months to years after the damage is done that the hair no longer grows well," she says.

Trying to heat style hair when it's wet will lead to steam damage, which is like boiling the hair from the outside.

Dr. Krant breaks down excessive heat styling in two parts:

"First, it literally boils the moisture in the center of the hair shaft, cracking the smooth walls of the medulla and creating bubbles within the shaft that break and disrupt the flow of light (imagine a cracked prism preventing a uniform rainbow from being created). Second, the cuticle, pushed outward irregularly by these bubbles, also cracks and splits, losing its smoothness and becoming rough and more like shingles, which disrupts the reflective sheen."

Wet hair is like a loose spring which stretches too easily and then breaks before the coil can snap back, so excessive tension can lead to more split ends and broken strands. So in trying to smooth your hair, Dr. Krant warns that you might accidentally end up with something worse.

Dear Marie Claire Magazine

Dear Marie Claire Magazine,

My name is Tony Posnanski, and I am a writer. I am also a man who was well over 400 pounds for most of his life. I am a man who was morbidly obese, and one who had no confidence. I am a man who has lost well over 200 pounds. I have not been morbidly obese for well over five years now. I eat pretty healthy and I workout a good amount.

I have written to you for over three years now. I have written about the same topic. My writing has gotten better each time, yet I have been ignored. I never got a response.

So, you may be wondering why I am writing you today. Why would a man write a fashion magazine?

On October 25th 2010 you published an article called "Should 'Fatties' Get A Room? (Even On TV?)" It was supposed to be about a television show called Mike and Molly, but instead turned into this incredible fat hatred post. Where "fat" people are disgusting and they should basically go hide, how easy it would be to lose weight if you followed some easy steps, and the article even had one of the worst lines I have ever seen in print:

"Yes, anorexia is sick, but at least some slim models are simply naturally skinny."

Obviously people were outraged. Other people agreed. More and more people weighed in on obesity and overweight people. The post went viral. In fact, I think they spoke about it on The View.

Instead it brought me back to a weird place. See, I was that fatty. When I was over 400 pounds, my wife loved me just as much as she does now. I could not understand why at the time. When she wanted to hold my hand, I did not want to. When she wanted to give me a hug, I backed off. When she wanted to give me a kiss in public, I shrugged away.

I was wrong for doing all of that.

I was concerned about the way society viewed me. That I was going to be laughed at. I questioned how someone could love a "fat man".

The truth is, when I lost the weight, my wife loved me just as much as when I was over 400 pounds. Being overweight is not disgusting or gross. It is eating more calories than your body burns. People want to make it more than that. People who do not have weight issues want to tell you how easy it is to lose weight. I have a name for those people. It is called ignorant.

Instead of worrying about being laughed at or worrying about disgusting others, I should have worried about loving my wife. I should have held her hand and hugged her and kissed her in public. Because it is not disgusting. It is not gross. Love is love, and if society cannot accept it, then shame on them.

Years have passed since you published the article. I now realize that some posts are written for shock, page views and comments. I saw the apology as well. I feel that if you truly feel a certain way, then an apology is invalid.

Either way, I want you to see this for one reason. I have written about this numerous times. I want the editor to hear my response.

You asked a question. The question was: Should fatties get a room (even on TV)?

My answer is no. All people should love one another in public regardless of size.

And I owe my wife an apology because I should have held her hand when I was over 400 pounds, and not worried about what you thought.

Sincerely,

Tony Posnanski

Beyonce's Vacation Photos With Blue Ivy Are The Only Photos You Need To See Today

Beyonce's latest photos will make you think two things: 1. You really need a vacation. 2. Blue Ivy is so adorable.

In her latest batch of Tumblr pics, Beyonce shares photos from a recent vacation at some luxurious tropical locale. The singer can be seen floating in an infinity pool while wearing a sunhat and swimsuit. In one shot where she is dancing, Blue Ivy's fingers can be seen in the corner.

Blue is front and center in another shot where she's wearing oversized glasses, a red hat and a printed sweatshirt. The littlest member of the Carter family is covering her face with her hands, but the shot is nothing short of precious.

Heidi Klum is taking a much needed break in the Bahamas. Clad in a strapless black bikini, the former Victoria's Secret model was spotted with her kids on the beach Sunday, March 23, munching on some golden fries.

Klum recently shared her fitness and diet tips with Glamour, telling the magazine that her favorite workouts are long runs and dancing with her kids.

As for her food choices, the 40-year-old mother of four said she likes to "pretend it's bikini season all year and regularly make healthy decisions."

"I like to stick to fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins," she said. "It's important to keep a balanced diet, but I'm not a fan of deprivation. If I want a cheeseburger, I am not only going to eat that cheeseburger, but I'm going to enjoy that cheeseburger."

Amen, sister!

19 Very Real Struggles Of Women With Big Butts

$

Having a large derriere is both a blessing and a curse.

There are plenty of things to enjoy about having a big booty -- who doesn't love curves? You have your own built-in padding, which means hard chairs are no issue and you'll never have to pay for one of those special gel seats at spin class. The "bend and snap" is your signature move, and shaking that thing can sometimes convince people you actually know how to dance.

But with a large butt comes great responsibility. Here are 19 issues you may have faced if endowed with a generous behind:

1. Men on the street have asked if they can use your derriere as a pillow. (They most certainly may not.)

2. Your dresses are three inches longer in the front than they are in the back.

3. Strangers have asked you for your squat routine.

4. You have to leave the bar when “Baby Got Back” comes on. Or "Bootylicious." Or "Miss New Booty."

5. That freakum dress Beyonce’s always talking about? Unless you want to look like you’re working a street corner, it’s just not gonna happen.

6. Shopping for jeans is worse than the Hunger Games.

7. You have definitely knocked something over by turning around too fast.

8. Three words: Lower back pain.

9. Buttcrack. Always.

10. No underwear provides enough coverage. Even granny panties look cheeky.

11. You can't safely store anything in your back pockets.

12. For you, "work-appropriate pants" are slacks four times bigger than your normal size with the waist taken in.

13. Bikinis without a mix-and-match size option are your own personal form of hell.

14. Drunk friends have tried to balance drinks on your behind.

15. Everyone assumes you can twerk.

16. You can't even think about wearing spandex shorts to the gym.

17. Before smartphones, you butt-dialed everyone you knew on a regular basis.

18. Seating is a struggle. You take up a surprising amount of space on the subway, and got stuck in every high school desk.

19. You have gotten tan lines from your own butt cheeks.

Kendra Wilkinson's Second Pregnancy Is Making Her 'Tired And Horny'

Former Playboy playmate and "Girls Next Door" star Kendra Wilkinson has joined the ranks as one of People magazine's mommy bloggers in the days before she welcomes a baby girl into her growing family.

Pregnant for the second time with husband Hank Baskett, the 28-year-old reveals that she's feeling every bit of her third trimester, and describes herself as "round, tired, grouchy, smelly and horny!"

And that's because Wilkinson apparently isn't getting any these days, much to her disappointment.

"[Hank] treats me so well and makes me feel beautiful," she wrote. "BUT the sex is lacking this pregnancy. Newsflash — I’m a very sexual creature. I love my man and sex, but sometimes I feel Hank is not attracted to me."

Wilkinson does admit, however, that she complains "every five minutes" about pain from carrying the baby so low and, when she coughs, she either farts, pees or cramps. So, she understands why her husband may not be as physical these days.

Wilkinson promises more mommy blogging in the future, which means there is much more TMI on the way. For Kendra's entire blog, head over to People.

Taylor Momsen Strips Down To Full–Frontal Nudity In 'Heaven Knows' Video

$

In case you missed it, Taylor Momsen is no longer Little J from "Gossip Girl." In fact, she's quite the opposite: an often scantily–clad lead singer in the band The Pretty Reckless.

The singer took her reputation for wearing very little clothing to the next level with some strategically placed body paint in the group's "Heaven Knows" music video. The video seems to be the typical schoolchildren's angst–themed rock clip until just after the two–minute mark when things take a turn for NSFW territory.

Momsen's nudity in the video matches the art for the band's newest album, "Going To Hell," which launched on March 12.

The cover shot draws quick reference to the iconic image of naked women sitting in a row with Pink Floyd albums printed across their backs. Come to think of it, the video isn't a far cry from the themes of the classic band's hit "Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2."

While few people seem to mind the 20–year–old's full–back nudity, full–frontal is a different story.

Between the flashing in the "Heaven Knows" video and an even more explicit NSFW promotional photo, Momsen has caused quite the stir and has had critics relating her naked display (and track record) to the recent controversies surrounding Miley Cyrus.

Momsen told BANG Showbiz, "I think the comparison [between me and Miley] is so silly, because what we do is so different. I wasn’t aiming to shock, I was aiming to create a beautiful image. I think every artist is different and whatever works for you works for you … it’s clearly working for her."

Gossard's 'Cleavage-Enhancing' Sports Bra To Make Working Out Even More Uncomfortable

$

If we're going to pay $75 for a bra with a fancy French name suitable for "a medium intensity work out," that workout better be sex.

Lingerie company Gossard has introduced a new "plunging sports bra ideal for those who want to work out and still be fashionable." It's basically just a push-up bra in the shape of sports bra with some mesh thrown in for good measure.

Gossard's move is in line with an industry-wide trend to make luxury athletic wear more versatile. Lululemon, for example, launched a "happy hour friendly" line of yoga gear last week. But while others try to make gym clothes sexy, Gossard is bringing sex appeal to gym clothes. Call it a two-pronged approach to preying on women's insecurities: Ladies, you must exercise to look better, and you must maintain your allure while doing so.

For an extra dash of needless sexualization, Gossard uses wordplay to unfortunate effect in an ad for the product:
gossard1

Moreover, Gossard is insistent on the fashionable nature of the "plunge effect." But last we checked, visible cleavage wasn't the only factor that made an clothing item fashionable.

Not only does the neckline adequately plunge, but the cups are padded. It takes a very presumptuous sports bra to add more volume to the area it is meant to contain. Oh yeah, it also takes a very presumptuous company to assume all women want to enhance their cleavage period, much less in the gym where there is literally zero obligation to look like anything other than a sweaty mess.

We'll call this one a bust, for sure.

Kendall And Kylie Jenner Hijack Kimye's Vogue Cover, Need Photoshop Lessons From James Franco

In case Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Vogue cover hasn't caused enough controversy, Kardashian's little sister Kylie Jenner had to get in on the action.

The 16–year–old shared a Photoshopped version of the magazine cover on her Twitter account with Kardashian and West replaced by herself and Kendall Jenner, respectively. Kylie's tweet read "Sorry, Kim" and, apparently, she meant it, as she promptly deleted the tweet.

Luckily for you, Kylie's many fans were quick enough to grab the image.

Kylie's idea was certainly not a novel one, as James Franco edited the Vogue cover for his own social media sharing purposes on Friday, March 21. In Franco's version, he replaces West with his own face and Kardashian with Seth Rogen.

What's the one takeaway here? Kylie Jenner could seriously use some Photoshop lessons.

A+, James Franco.

New Season, New You: Makeup Trends for Spring

$

Despite the frigid temperatures outside, Spring has arrived! Spring is a time for change and a time for new beginnings. Just like your wardrobe changes with the seasons so should your makeup. It's time for a fresh start and a fresh look to bring in the new season. Here are a few tips for perfecting your spring time look:

1) Pack away your full coverage foundations and replace them with sheer to medium coverage foundations. It will enhance the look of your skin without masking your overall natural complexion. Sheer foundations are much lighter and less likely to clog your pores.

It is also important to change the color of your foundation as the seasons change. Due to sun exposure everyone is naturally a shade or two darker in the warmer months of the year. Make sure you have a darker shade of foundation for the spring and summer months.

2) A smoky eye is one of my favorite looks but the dark black can be too much for spring. Choose a grey blue color to fulfill your smoky eye desires, you won't be sorry!

3) Don't forget the bronzer! In my opinion Spring is the best time of year to toss the blush and replace it with a bronzer. Not many people can deny the appeal of a sun kissed glow but as we all know excessive sun exposure can be particularly damaging to our skin. Bronzer is the perfect way to have the best of both worlds. Be careful though, the wrong shade can make you look like the inside of a sweet potato. Try a bronzer that is one or two tones darker than your original skin color.

4) Aqua eyes! New York Fashion Week gave us a sneak peek into what we should be expecting for spring makeup trends. Solid blue eye shadow was featured on numerous occasions. If you are feeling bold enough to try this, make sure you apply a nude lip color. You want your eyes to be the focus of your application and a bold lip may be visually overwhelming.

5) Ditch the dark lipsticks and opt for lighter colors coupled with a coat of lip gloss for shine. Heavy lips look great and mysterious in the winter but may look out of place during a season that is all about bright and vibrant colors.

6) Go Au Naturale. The "no-makeup' look will absolutely require makeup to achieve. Many people think the natural look for spring means wearing no makeup, but this could not be further from the truth. There is an art to getting the natural timeless look that so many women desire but so few can achieve. Make sure to begin your application with moisturizer and primer applied to your entire face. Next apply the tiniest amount of concealer to any blemishes and under eye circles. Using a brush, apply a tinted moisturizer cream that matches your skin tone all over your face. Use a blot powder to lift any oils from your face and apply a light blush (just enough to put some color back into your face). Use a brown eye pencil to gently line the eyelids. Opt for a light pink lip gloss to finish out the look. Voilà! You have completed the natural look.

Baby Got Backpack...

2014-03-25-unnamed1.jpg

Many of you laugh at me when I declare that a certain item's en vogue.  But I promise you, backpacks are the latest trend being spotted all over the fashionable streets of major cities.  Even the epitome of high fashion, the House of Chanel, has designed a graffitti inspired, urban artsy backpack priced over $3,000, which has made its rounds in most fashion magazine editorial pages this season.

This trend is apparent in urban areas; as I scan stylish parents for hautedropoff, I'm seeing luxury labels like Gucci and Prada as well as army-inspired backpacks, acid wash denim styles and bright color nylon looks.  My personal favorite bag of all time is an army green backpack purchased at a real Army/Navy supply, in New York City, a style that is also making its way onto the backs of 2014's chicest.

Backpacks had their first heyday in the 1990's. As grunge began to fade, designer label backpacks became the hottest accessory of the most fashionable.  I of course wanted a piece of the action and was determined to own a black nylon beauty.

So I did what comes naturally: I begged my mom for a designer label backpack.  To me nothing said "cool" like a little nylon Prada bag. Trouble was, it was ridiculously expensive and thus highly inappropriate for a young girl.  Still, after a year of utilizing my natural skill of persistent begging, my mom seemed to finally weaken her stance.  She came home one day and handed me a white dust cover, just like the ones given to you when you purchase a luxury hand bag.  My eyes lit up: was this my mom, or a fashion-forward fairy in disguise? I untied the bag and inside was a little nylon backpack with an oversized no-name logo glued (more like super glued) onto its back pocket.

I knew it was a horrible knockoff of what I really wanted, but no matter -- this was the closest to high fashion I would get in those years.  Many years later, after the Prada backpack turned less high fashion and more main stream, I was able to purchase it at a heavily discounted price, but by then, for me, it had lost its allure.

But not forever. The backpack is re-experiencing a major fashion moment... and now, after all this time, I can dust off my again very current Prada backpack and finally be part of the fashion elite (please note the large dose of sarcasm).  So, my stylish friends, give your arms a rest and funk up your back side with a cool backpack in 2014.

After 11 years of marriage Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are calling it quits.

On Tuesday, March 25, the superstar couple announced their decision to separate on the actress' lifestyle website Goop:

It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.

Love,
Gwyneth & Chris

The pair married in 2003 and have two children together. In recent months there were rumors that Paltrow's alleged affairs with various high-powered men was set to be the subject of a Vanity Fair profile that was then spiked due to her campaign against the magazine.

Back in 2013, Paltrow admitted that marriage wasn't easy, telling Glamour U.K.,"It's hard being married. You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We’re the same as any couple."

31-year-old James "Jay" Ott was last seen on Saturday walking into the McKibben Lofts in Bushwick where he lives. Ott is 6-foot-2 and about 180 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair. Police tell the Daily News that Ott suffers from anxiety, but that it's unclear if his condition has anything to do him going missing.

“He was in a good place last time we talked Saturday morning,” Liz Ricketts told The Post of her friend, whom she met in college. “It’s strange for him to not reach out when he is struggling with something. Its not like him.”

Friends were especially worried on Monday when Ott didn't show up to work.

"He did not come into work on Monday, which is not very typical of him," Beatrice Kim, who works with Ott at the fashion investment firm The Dock Group, told Gothamist. "That's when we all started to get worried. When we all started talking to one another, that's when we realized no one had heard from him since Saturday evening, which is not usual at all."

Ott, originally from Pittsburgh, studied fashion at the University of Cincinnati.

Anyone with any information regarding Ott's disappearance is asked to contact Detective Thomas Pisano at the 90 Precinct Detective Squad. You can call Pisano at (718) 963-5368, or email findjayott@gmail.com.
