Here’s a sure way to strike out if you’re dating Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander: Expect sex before or after a game.

Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton, the baseball star’s fiancee, revealed details of the couple’s love life on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen on Wednesday.

“There’s no sex before a game, absolutely none,” Upton said.

“Also what I’ve just found is if he plays too well, there’s no sex after either,” she added later. “He’s too exhausted, kind of a buzzkill for me.”

Upton has referenced the couple’s sex life before, tweeting this in response to Verlander losing the Cy Young Award vote.

Tracee Ellis Ross Looks Like An Angel In This Playfully Sheer Gown

There’s sheer, and then there’s sheer perfection.

Tracee Ellis Ross followed up a fringe-tastic showing earlier this week with a stunning, transparent mock-neck gown with a tiered skirt and bustier-style bra at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood awards on Thursday.

Ross, who joined the likes of Viola Davis, Issa Rae and Janelle Monae at the star-studded event, one-upped her own style with a flawless hair and makeup look. We love this combo of updo, pink lip and fierce brow.

The look’s playful nature was not lost on Ross, who captioned a photo of herself from the event “#DollBaby .”

Karl Lagerfeld Apparently Told A BS Story About Meryl Streep Being 'Cheap'

Meryl Streep’s camp is denying recent claims made by Karl Lagerfeld that she is being paid to wear a particular Oscars gown.

Apparently, Streep saw a dress from Lagerfeld’s recent Chanel couture collection that she wanted to wear to Sunday’s Oscars. Days after sketching a custom version with a higher neckline, Lagerfeld received a call from her team.

“’Don’t continue the dress. We found somebody who will pay us,’” he told Women’s Wear Daily of the call. “After we gift her a dress that’s 100,000 euros [$105,000], we found later we had to pay [for her to wear it]. We give them dresses, we make the dresses, but we don’t pay.”

“A genius actress, but cheapness also, no?” he added.

Yikes.

After the report surfaced, Streep’s team quashed Lagerfeld’s claims, calling them “absolutely false” in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, saying “it is against her personal ethics to be paid to wear a gown on the red carpet.”

Hear that, Karl?

Israeli Models Hit The Catwalk For 'Modest Fashion Day'

Forgoing the provocative and risque, a group of designers in Jerusalem on Thursday held Israel’s first major fashion show for Orthodox Jewish women, whose tradition requires they dress in conservative outfits.

Hundreds of Orthodox women and fashionistas were in the audience for “Modest Fashion Day” as Israeli models hit the catwalk wearing long sleeves and dresses down to their ankles.

“People are looking in our direction now to find that modest kind of look, which is very interesting to see,” said ultra-Orthodox stylist Miri Beillin.

“We are working for this amazing day, fashion modesty, which is a complete, amazing experience for us as religious women.”

Ultra-Orthodox Jews make up about 10 percent of Israel’s population.

Nordstrom Co-President: Business Impact Of Trump's Tweet Was 'Negligible'

$

It seems President Trump’s Twitter rants aren’t quite as powerful as he thinks they are.

Earlier this month, after Nordstrom announced it was dropping Ivanka Trump’s line because of poor sales, President Trump attacked the retail chain on Twitter for treating his daughter “unfairly.”

It appears the company escaped the political controversy relatively unscathed, according to a call Nordstrom co-president Peter Nordstrom had with analysts and investors on Thursday. When an analyst asked whether the president’s tweet had an impact on the company’s business, Peter said the effect was “negligible” and “not really discernible one way or the other,” according to CNBC.

Despite the lack of impact, shopping (or not shopping) at Nordstrom has become quite political. After Trump’s tweet about the retail chain, celebrities Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Moore, Kristen Davis, Aisha Tylor and Chelsea Handler all shared photos of their shopping sprees at the store in support of its decision to drop Ivanka.

Supporters of the president, like Scott Baio, announced that they would be boycotting the store.

A video made by a group of women even went viral after they filmed themselves canceling their Nordstrom accounts in a fit of rage, over the store’s decision to “cave” and drop Ivanka’s line.

Since Nordstrom dropped Ivanka’s line, many retailers ― like Sears, Kmart, Neiman Marcus, TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Belk ― have dropped Ivanka’s lines, as well as other Trump products. Looking like the #GrabYourWallet movement really works.

The Oscars are swiftly approaching and with them, a palpable buzz about which film will take home “Best Picture” and which celebrity will make an acceptance speech about you-know-who. But fashion and movie lovers will likely tune in to see which film takes home the nod for excellence in costume design.

There were Florence Foster Jenkins’ elaborate dresses (which were just ever so slightly better than her singing voice), Eddie Redmayne’s magical Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” look and “Jackie’s” take on Jackie Kennedy’s unmistakable, timeless style, to name a few.

This 72-Year-Old Model Owned The Runway At London Fashion Week

Amidst the many models walking at London Fashion Week, one in particular stood out. Jan de Villeneuve, a 72-year-old model born in Ohio, ruled the runway during her walks for Simone Rocha and Osman.

“Life doesn’t end when you start getting a pension,” de Villeneuve told The Telegraph. “Older women love fashion too. I’ve always thought it would be nice if people of all ages, shapes and sizes were included because that’s more relevant to day-to-day life.”

De Villeneuve, who first began modeling in the ‘60s, told the outlet that she took some time off to raise her daughters before returning to the profession in 1988.

“I was quite conflicted as a young model about making money from how you look. I’d gone to university and had a good degree so thought, ‘Should I be doing this?’” she told The Telegraph. “I railed against it when I was younger but now I don’t think about it because now I look like an older lady. It was lovely this weekend to see there was interest in women of my age.”

Below are photos De Villeneuve posted ― the first includes two other mature models who walked in the Simone Rocha show.

She also posted pictures from her walk for Osman:

This Is What The Academy Awards Looked Like In 1997

With the 89th annual Academy Awards just a few days away, let us once again pay homage to the show’s past.

Today, we’re strolling down memory lane all the way back to the 1997 ceremony, when Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman (wearing that oh-so-memorable chartreuse Galliano gown) walked the carpet hand-in-hand and Felicity Huffman sported some trendy round sunglasses.

In terms of awards, Geoffrey Rush and Frances McDormand took home the night’s top acting honors for their roles in “Shine” and “Fargo,” respectively. The ceremony’s biggest award ― Best Picture ― went to “The English Patient,” and its director, Anthony Minghella, took home the statue for directing.

Below are some highlights from the ‘97 ceremony. The nostalgia is real.

Why Buying A Fancy Couch Will Never Make You Feel Like An 'Adult'

$

“You’re such an adult.”

That’s the response I’m typically met with when people find out I own my New York City apartment. It’s something I’m proud of, sure, especially considering I used to rent an East Village abode that looked out over the building’s dumpster.

But an adult? No way.

A recent takedown of West Elm’s Peggy couch set the Internet ablaze and proved all too relatable for people who hate their couches. But more specifically, author Anna Hezel’s lament rang true for anyone who identified with the writer’s need to “prove [her] adulthood with mid-century furniture. And more specifically, a need to prove that [she had] graduated from Walmart bed frames and second-hand plywood shelves scooped up from the sidewalk.”

The idea of “graduating” into different stages of life goes beyond furniture, of course. As kids, we envision what our lives will look like, and by what age those things will come to fruition. I, for example, could see no other fate for myself than as a successful Broadway actor with three children, a husband and a home in the suburbs by age 25.

“LOL,” laughed my cat, and only current semblance of a companion, perched atop my own “adult” West Elm couch in the studio apartment I live in (alone) at age 28.

The truth is that nothing ― not home ownership, not living by yourself, not your career, not your offspring and certainly not your couch ― no matter how fancy, will ever make you feel like an adult. That reality arguably sinks in the first time you realize your parents, who once appeared as all-knowing beams of wisdom and perfection, turn out to be regular old people just trying to figure their shit out, too.

So sure, I bought an apartment and a fancy couch, but I still:

Use toilet paper to clean my furniture when I run out of paper towels. Oh come on, like you don’t do that too.

Let my laundry pile up until I have no underwear left. And even still for some time after that.

Eat hummus and carrots over my sink in my underwear for dinner. And not, as I previously pictured, a well-balanced, health conscious meal at a reclaimed wood table on the deck of my home in the country.

Spend money I don’t have on things I can’t afford. Including, yes, that fancy couch.

Am single. ...

Live paycheck to paycheck. Call it a symptom of living in New York City, but I have a feeling I’d feel just as childlike even with more savings.

Fall asleep with all my makeup on. Specifically, falling asleep with all my makeup on and forgetting to brush my teeth after too many glasses of wine.

Foolishly imagine my life will look a certain way when I hit the next milestone. All it takes is one conversation with people who have kids to realize that even being responsible for another human life doesn’t make you feel any more more like an adult, either. Sigh.

Look. Home decor, like clothing, should make you feel good and comfortable. If you want to get a fancy mid-century modern couch, get yourself a fancy mid-century modern couch. But probably don’t get this couch, and know in your heart that it won’t make you feel like a grown up. And even better, you should know that’s OK.

George might have been there to accept a career award for being named “the most charismatic actor of his generation,” but ― let’s be real ― Amal stole the show.

The 39-year-old wore a white strapless gown with a feathered ombré skirt and looked all sorts of stunning.

This marks Amal’s first red carpet appearance since announcing her pregnancy, E! News notes.

Mom's Viral Post Sums Up Why Parenting Used To Be Easier

$

An Australian mom’s viral Facebook post is highlighting the immense pressure parents face today.

On Wednesday, blogger Constance Hall posted a photo of herself having fun with one of her children. In the caption, she shared a powerful message about the cost of trying to keep up with the demands of society.

“What happens when we put too much pressure on mothers?” she asked.

Hall recalled that after becoming a mother, she once asked her father how her grandmother managed to raise 11 children. “My dad responded that she wasn’t given half the pressures I was,” she wrote.

“She didn’t have to go to the bank, the supermarket everyday, she wasn’t expected to look a million bucks straight after birth and she never put pressure on her kids to have reached all of their milestones by the age of 3 weeks, have the house clean and own a thermomix,” she added. “She just hung out with her kids and enjoyed them.”

As a result of this pressure to keep up with the many demands of modern parenting, Hall believes she and other parents aren’t able to be truly present for their children. Instead, she said, they have to fixate on reaching perfection.

“To go to the gym, answer that email, pay that bill, cook that organic kale, blend it, get it into a patty so no one knows it’s kale, get to the doctors....” she wrote. “The washing! Petrol in the car.... colour your goddam grays! Make the kids lunches ‘cause if you order them again you will be JUDGED!”

Ultimately, Hall said that she wants to reject the pressure to be perfect.

“Today I woke up with a desire to take a deep breath and let it all go, I don’t really care about the new blinds I had ordered or making the house decent so that my mates don’t think I’ve lost the plot,” she concluded. “But I really care about my time with my kids and how they feel about themselves. And I’m not going to let outside pressures and ‘Super mum’ ideals take that away from me.”

Hall’s post received over 64,000 likes, and the comments section quickly filled with positive responses and similar thoughts from fellow parents.

“Nobody’s ever going to say ‘ I wish I’d spent more time cleaning & looking at my phone instead of playing with my kids,’” wrote one mom.

“Never feel guilty about finding joy instead of perfection,” added another.

Here’s to embracing the imperfect reality of raising kids!

That's Probably Raquel Welch, Not Kourtney, In That Kardashian Photo (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Feb. 24 ― A short video clip shared Friday on Snapchat by Kourtney Kardashian panned across a photograph, hanging in sister Khloe’s home, of a woman on a cross. The photo prompted speculation that it was Kourtney herself who appeared in the photo (this article previously stipulated as much).

Rather, the photo very strongly resembles a work by British photographer Terry O’Neill, “Raquel Welch on the Cross, Los Angeles,” which was used as a publicity still for the 1966 film “One Million Years B.C.”

Previously:

It appears Kourtney Kardashian is taking notes from Yeezus

On Friday, the mother-of-three shared a clip on her Snapchat, walking viewers through her sister Khloe’s home. At one point, she goes up the stairs to reveal what appears to be a large framed photo of herself in the image of Jesus crucified on the cross, just casually hanging on the wall.

The Kardashians have not hidden their Christian beliefs ― they were the topic of an interview with Oprah in 2012 ― but we’re going to go ahead and say this probably doesn’t represent living in the image of God.

CORRECTION: This post previously misidentified the home as Kourtney’s, however it belongs to her sister Khloe.

Here's What Brad Goreski Wants To See These Oscar Nominees Wearing

We’re just one day away from finding out which film will take home the Oscar for “Best Picture.” For us fashion folk, though, the real show starts way before the first award is handed out.

Brad Goreski, co-host of “Fashion Police” and “E!  Live from the Red Carpet,” will undoubtedly have plenty to say about the red carpet looks after Sunday night’s festivities. But what would he, as both a stylist and lover of fashion alike, dream of seeing the show’s leading ladies wearing? He broke it down for The Huffington post, straight from the runways.

We’ll have to wait until Sunday night to see what Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Ruth Negga and Isabelle Huppert actually wear, but we’ll have our fingers crossed for at least Stone in some variation of that Dior number. Check out that pick, and all five picks for “Best Actress” nominees gowns below.

Emma Stone

“I would really love to see Emma Stone give us a big, ball gown couture moment. I love the soft pastels and layered petals of this [Dior] skirt. It’s feminine, romantic and definitely a gown for a winner.”

Isabelle Huppert

”I love the combination of the intricate beading and the white skirt. So chic and classic Chanel! I would modify the neckline a little bit to close up the plunging neckline.”

Meryl Streep

“I love the flowy chiffon and hand-painted flowers on this Giambattista Valli Couture gown for Meryl Streep. The beaded high neck acts as jewelry and adds a little sparkle to this very effortless gown.”

Ruth Negga

“Ruth has been fearless on the red carpet this awards season, wearing very elevated designs by great designers. I think this Gucci gown, with its exaggerated shoulder and plunging neckline, is perfect.”

Natalie Portman

”I love this vibrant lilac color for Natalie Portman. This simple Valentino silhouette and gorgeous fabric make a statement without being too fussy.”

Obama Is Back From Vacation And Looking 💯

He’s back!

Former President Barack Obama has finally returned from his post-presidency vacation, where he got some much-deserved R&R in Palm Springs, California, and on Richard Branson’s private escape in the British Virgin Islands.

While Obama’s vacation style consisted of a backward hat and flip-flops, he looked seriously dapper in New York City on Friday in a black suit and a white collared shirt. No tie necessary.

Twitter took notice.

The former president enjoyed a night out with daughter Malia. The two dined at Emilio’s Ballato, a popular Italian restaurant in Little Italy. (And happily posed for photos.)

They also saw the Roundabout Theatre Co.’s production of Arthur Miller’s “The Price” at the American Airlines Theater, starring Mark Ruffalo, Jessica Hecht, Tony Shalhoub and Danny DeVito.

Some theater-goers didn’t even notice who was in the audience with them.

Welcome back, Sir!

Transgender Model To Caitlyn Jenner: 'We Do Not Need You To Save Us'

Transgender model Isis King tweeted a blunt open letter to Caitlyn Jenner on Friday after the reality star criticized the Trump administration’s decision to rescind Obama-era guidance that protected transgender students in public schools.

King, the first openly transgender contestant to compete on “America’s Next Top Model,” calls out Jenner in the letter, referencing an incident at the TransNation Queen USA Pageant in October in which Jenner allegedly ignored King’s presence, then cut in front of her to take an empty elevator for herself and her team.

“I could not believe that this happened to me and immediately felt as if I had just been asked to move to the back of the bus,” King writes in the letter. “It was as if I was not good enough, not worthy enough, not rich enough, not famous enough to ride with these three white women. ... The amount of privilege that was thrown in my face made me feel so uncomfortable.”

King seemed to suggest that the insult represents a larger issue in the trans community when it comes to power, privilege and visibility: “I have, like so many women of color, helped blazed [sic] trails for our sisters, brothers and siblings, and I have seen how you treated me. We do not need you to save us.”

On Thursday, Jenner tweeted a video message directed at President Donald Trump “from one Republican to another,” calling Trump’s blow to the rights of trans students a “disaster” and telling the president “we’ll see you in court.”

The video was met with harsh criticism from parts of the LGBTQ community. Jenner was an outspoken supporter of Trump during the 2016 election ― even attending his inauguration.

UPDATE: 1:25 p.m. ― King said in an interview with TooFab.com that Jenner called following the tweet of the open letter, and the pair have now “resolved everything.”

Blue ACLU Ribbons Are The Stars' Best Accessories At 2017 Oscars

The dresses, hair, makeup and jewelry took a back seat to a more meaningful accessory at the Oscars on Sunday.

Many of Hollywood’s brightest were seen sporting blue ribbons in solidarity with the America’s Civil Liberties Union. The non-profit, which is “devoted to protecting the rights of everyone in America,” has been a driving force in resistance to many of President Donald Trump’s policies and conflicts of interest since he took office.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the ACLU reached out to “all major nominees,” including “Best Actress” nominee Ruth Negga:

There have been plenty of political moments on the red carpet this awards season, but we’re loving this large push of solidarity.

In Chrissy Teigen’s mind, the Oscar for cutest baby was no contest. Before heading to the 89th annual Academy Awards, the model and mom decided to have some award show fun on social media.

“And the award for Baby of the Year goes to ... baby Luna!” Teigen says in a video posted to Twitter Sunday. We’re guessing the statue in the video is the one Teigen’s husband John Legend won for his song “Glory,” created with Common for the film “Selma.” (Luna’s will probably come in the mail.)

Clearly, this is a major upset for all other babies hoping to snag the win this year, but let’s be honest: Baby Luna put out some outstanding work in the last year.

The 2017 Oscars red carpet wasn’t complete until Chrissy Teigen and John Legend showed up.

Teigen sparkled in a gorgeous Zuhair Murad gown with intricate beading and a belted midsection. She paired her look with dazzling earrings, an elegant updo and one of her trademark thigh-high splits, of course.

Legend said his wife looked “like a goddess” during their interview with Ryan Seacrest and we couldn’t agree more:

The singer, who Teigen pointed out was a bit nervous about his upcoming piano medley at the show, looked as classy as ever in a black tux.
